Removed Shattered Hope and just make it basekit

Remove the aura reading and just make snuffing a boon shatter the totem. It is still insane that you can just constantly relight boons over and over again. The amount of time it takes for the killer to snuff a boon is, generally, much greater a penalty for the killer than it is for the survivor to use the boon.

It's incredibly unfun when survivors keep putting a boon in a totem that is in a difficult to reach place, when it affects multiple floors, especially with the new Boon. I keep seeing people say that it's not efficient for survivor to use the boon because it would be better to just repair the gen, but in my experience it seems like it's much stronger than people think. It can slow the regression of multiple gens at the same time, and if you snuff it, they can just keep putting it back. So not only do you have to spend crucial seconds kicking the gen, you then have to find the totem and snuff it.

If killers could relight their hexes, people would be incredibly upset about that. I also think that if boons were permanently snuffed by the Killer, you could make stronger boon perks as well. It would be a win/win.

Agree! Boons should be be limited once per totem minimum, I think snuffing shouldn't remove them to not punish killers bringin hex perks.

  • Boons are not strong enough to warrant such a Nerf. Plus, every Boon which is set up helps the KIller, since it is time wasted not on Gens.

The new Boon is really, really bad. If you are saying it is good or "not bad", you are straight up wrong. It only works in Areas where the Killer is patrolling, which means that they can snuff it quite easily.

Comparing Boons and Hexes is still nonsense. Only because both are shiny Totems does not make them compareable. Yes, Killers cannot relight their Hexes. But they are stronger than Boons, map-wide AND they dont need to set them up.

The only thing I agree on is that Boons should not work on multiple Floors. The concept of Boons is that they should be snuffed quickly and this might not happen if they are on a different Floor, but still applying to other Floors. If Boons are ever buffed, they should also nerf this aspect.

Well, that's what I'm saying. They should just make boons stronger and then make them single-use IMO. If you get rid of the constant relighting aspect, you're free to make much cooler Boon perks for survivor.

But yeah, the multiple floor things is so hard. I just had a team using the new perk on Midwich and it was a nightmare to deal with. I was using call of brine and lay waste, and still after kicking a gen they were able to pop it so quickly even while I was patrolling it.

I suppose if the totem placement was worse, it wouldn't have been as miserable, but they were able to place the totems in such a way that it took me an insane amount of time to get rid of them, which I guess would also be fixed by them being single floor use.

Boons are the killer's equivalent. It's still equally unfair, as a killer main, that survivors can not only relight boons, but 4 of them can bring any combination of boons. Including overlap. So individually boons are weaker, but the moment two people are running a boon at all the killer is at a disadvantage.

Not really, since those two people could run actually good Perks instead.

Boons are defienetly not weak, they are quite strong. Illumination and Steadfast are boons weaker than their non-boon equivalents.

You've missed the point, I think.

What do you mean when you say the could run "actually good perks?" What does that have to do with anything at all relevant to Boons vs Hexes?

You said that once two people run Boons that the Killer is at a disadvantage. I disagree, every Boon-Perk is an advantage for the Killer, since it is a useless Perk instead of an actually good Perk.

Tell me all about CoH and Exponential combos c:

Or how Deja + Steadfast + toolkits. As much as I don't want to tell people they aren't allowed to have fun with their friends, there's definitely a synergy that 100% is worth discussing.

CoH and Exponential are also bad, lol. I dont really think that you have any real argument. If combos like this would be strong, they would be used far more often. They are fun little gimmicks and thats about it.

And when it comes to Steadfast, instead of sitting on a Totem to bless it (multiple times), you can also just sit on the Gen you want to do quicker.

Steadfast is the same kind of Noobtrap like Overzealous. A Perk nobody runs because by now people have realized how bad it is. Why we have to go through the same cycle with Steadfast is beyond me.

  • Or how Deja + Steadfast + toolkits

Adding Steadfast and Deja Vu with a toolbox would only give you 5% (Steadfast) and 1.5% (Deja Vu) extra repair speed - so it is basically pointless to bring the boon in this case.

  • Boons are very powerful. The 15 or so seconds you spend setting up COH for instance, could save your team way more time than that healing if the boon effect persists and isn't snuffed. Not to mention that COH lets your team see your aura when inside its range and injured, which is extremely good info that also saves time and could even let others know where the killer is. The killer also has to waste their time snuffing it.

Shadowstep, exponential, dark theory are all good. Heck, even though people love to s*** on boon illumination, the info is really nice and gives you a clear picture of the map and what gens should be done to spread out the last remaining gens as much as possible.

Meanwhile, a lot of times unlucky killers are getting their hex totems cleansed 20-30 seconds into the start of the match and get no value from them.

It's common consensus that totem spawn/placement is absolutely terrible. When killers get bad totem placements right next to generators in the open, right next to where survivors spawn in, it really makes you wonder what's the point?? Meanwhile, survivors can pick and choose their totem spot, and even if the totem spot is obvious and out in the open, big deal? They can just relight it.

  • Boons are by far too weak to warrant such a change. Also the comparisons between Boon and Hex are totally stupid if you do not understand that Hexes do something (mostly) the entire time while Boons basically just do something once a game, if certain prerequistes are met. Also is the time invest most likely be better used on a gen than looking for a useful boons and setting it up.

How do boons do something once a game when certain prereqs are met??? That's literally only true MAYBE for exponential…

I think people are missing the point too that survivors can CHOOSE where the boon goes and relight it every single time. So for example, they can put a boon at the top of the stairwell on Midwich and affect multiple floors and it's incredibly inconvenient for killer to snuff.

  • If you make boons dramatically stronger then yeah I think this would be fine. As they are they are far too weak to even begin to nerf.
