I've had several people on the forums tell me to play with bots, and that I suck or I have no skill, etc. etc. because I admit to doing both shamelessly. OP checks out, people do in fact still complain about it.

Literally useless on half of the Killers
If it's basekit, why does that matter? It doesn't count against your perk slots, and I fail to see how knowing exactly where your first chase is is literally useless on all killers, except Trapper without his bag. Besides, borrowed Time is literally useless on some survivors because they don't go for unhooks.

You know you can just camp survivors in the bot mode right? There you also don't have to face CoH :)
But I want to play on the live games, not with bots...?

so you intentionally grief urself and give survivors a free win becasue u dont like a perk? cool!
Basically, yeah. That's how I want to play, and I see no issue with it so I will continue to play like that.

it sounds like you have 0 skill since you cant play against CoH...
I choose to not play against it, not that I can't play against it. I have zero problems with it on Nurse, Huntress, Pinhead, and Plague. I just choose to not play against it on the killers I like to play.

Mostly Wraith. I'm a Wraith main.

Nah what is sad is jumping in to add nothing and honestly I don't care play how you like but if you never plan to even try to learn to play the game quit the game cause like that is special levels. I'm done commenting hear because I feel like the more I talk to killers with 0 skill my brain is slowly melting. Hope you always lose :)
You haven't even seen how I play though. How do you know I have zero skill? Kappa
I wouldn't have several hundred hours on Nurse if I wasn't getting results with her, right? I did also mention I'll play her legit in the exact same post you quoted to tell me to stop playing how you don't want me to. Just saying~

You think someone should quit playing games because you don't like they play Dead by Daylight? That's just sad
Specifically, I don't play it how they want to. If they want to give me 100% of the money I've invested into my account, then sure I'll play exactly how he wants. But, nah.

Crazy thought the point of the game was to play guess not. Maybe you should not have paid the money? Take the L and just throw you gaming out dude or at the very least play by your self. Online games are not for you lol.
Let me repeat the statement:
I'm not sorry for playing the videogame that I paid for with my money for myself how I want to, and not how DriplordDrew wants me to play it.

Wow glad you are so cool with being this cringe. Do not improve not that big of a deal. Scary that you seem proud of saying this. Good Luck hope that any team that faces you completely walls you :)
[I'm not] sorry for playing the video game I paid for with my money for my entertainment how I want to when I'm on my own team of only me. I have like 700 hours, easy, on just killer. Trust me, I won't sit here and say I'm got tier and win all my matches, but I am not new.
[edit]
Did you know that not everybody plays video games to get better at them? Crazy thought, I know, but it exists.
-
RPD is one of my favorite maps for Wraith. I just throw on the xray vision addon and have a wonderful time, since I know the layout. 🙃
-
Personally, I tunnel people down and then camp the hook because of COH. If they get away I just tunnel them down again. I'm not too interested in "improving" because I play for my entertainment, and that's what I want to do. When I want to "improve" I swap to Nurse and actually practice the blinks, not just tunnel and camp as Wraith or Bubba.
So, long story short, I still get to play DBD, but there's mechanics I don't like dealing with so I just don't deal with them.

I just camp the first person to death and afk after. I'm happy with 1 kill and my mmr going down
I camp then tunnel if he gets saved. I do go for hits on others if given the chance, but I generally tunnel.
-
When these drop I'm burning like 20 offerings in a row to test out various things in my games. Also I'm cranking the graphics to max and playing in 4k.
Then a few things that are interaction-dependent I want to do on my GaMUr ScReEN with the 144fps, even if it is only 1080p. I'll likely upload the videos as well.

@Saiku22 said:
I agree but honestly I can also see why camping is a big problem. I’m camping everyone with Wraith with a basement build right now and it’s hilarious how many survivors have dced and called me toxic. I’ll be using a basement build every game since all I go against is DH DS COH and Prove thyself.
I've started shamelessly camping to deal with the boons. It's super dogpoop to finally catch someone, slug'em to chase who was gonna go for the beamer friend retriever, only to find out that they either had unbreakabill or were inside the boon circle that was CoH and exponential. One of the most infuriating things for me, aside from the RPD library, is when survivors run a "Run the Killer" build then work together on comms to get some actual mileage out of it, instead of an extra ~20 seconds in a chase.

killers generalize like they're getting paid to
""EVERY GAME IS DEAD HARD AND BORROWED TIME", "I'M ALWAYS GETTING TEA BAGGED" "UGH EVERY SURVIVOR BULLIES ME AND ONLY ME"
has the same energy as "Girls don't want to date nice guys"
To be honest, as a killer main I've seen so many DHs and BTs it really does feel like it's every game.
-
Strangely enough, Legion. I don't see enough of them so their mind games get to me, with being able to ignore pallets and stuff, and being short.
Clown, too. Same reason, I don't play enough of them and they just so efficiently shut down loops.

This why I quit, I surprised nobody talk about how bad legion is especially on console with the constant freezes. You miss on attack and your stunned for 5 seconds lol. Meanwhile survivors got instant deadhard and instant 360 that you auto aim cannot even track properly lol
For me personally, that's not bothered me too much. The actual movement of all the killers around the map is pretty uninterrupted, some being much faster than others, but in my mind the abilities being clunky is just cooldown management.

I think you're on the recieving end of it so often when you play a lot of killer, no matter how you play, that you can't help get a little jaded about the community in general.
I've seen plenty of salty killers but usually when they lose, but a lot of survivors get salty and abusive win or lose.
That said though I've plenty of positive interactions with good gamers on both sides, even ones that started a lil salty and ended up being a laugh.
I've seen plenty of salt from survivors myself. It's more common than not, to the point I have to prep myself close to the round to be witty and/or polite.

Eh.
Cenobite is...fine. I'll admit that I overreacted to his addon nerfs (they were a bit much, but didn't destroy him). He's not crazy powerful, but he's a comfortable mid 'B' tier.
Chains are far from useless. They are a bit crap on indoor maps, but you can do all sorts of cool tricks with them - snare someone as they drop a pallet and you can often trick/force them to slowvault it back towards you. Aim at their feet with the initial portal and even if you miss, you incur almost no penalty as the chain will hit the ground very quickly.
The trick with the box is to anticipate it's spawn location and either check, or predict when survivors will go and solve it - and use this to ambush them (a single down + cube pickup can win the game right there).
I've had a lot of luck with these builds:
- Plaything + Pentimento/Retribution + Pain Resonance + Dead Man's Switch. Overwhelm them with secondary objectives while blocking gens. DMS is nutty on him, as you can interrupt people at gens with chains. Throw in the box iri, and this one is nasty.
- Ruin+Undying+Devour Hope+Haunted Ground. Similar principle. 2-3 separate chances for instadowns, minimum.
on indoor maps Pinhead is great with the addon that spawns chains when you break them with terrain. 3 chains becomes like, 12.

But why would they answer it like that? Anyone else would be like "No, we don't plan to do any of that". But he's like "Well... we don't plan to do the one thing."
That answer is literally just reinforcing they are dodging the question.
"So you didn't answer my question. Let me re-state it in a different way."
> Repeats identical answer.
They could have discussed doing something with it literally 15 minutes before the stream, it could be in production, it could be in testing, it could just be an option they've considered as a development team and don't want to tell the public, etc. etc.

Jeff said before he left Blizzard they plan on reworking the border system/removing it because they see enough people in bronze-gold who just play to play get flamed for "being hard stuck" when in reality they never intended to grind. They just want to vibe.
Back to DBD tho: BHVR has said multiple, multiple times now over that the emblems are not related to MMR. Anyone who thinks it is just does not keep up with the game.

I'll just start tunneling because survivors meta perks are too strong right now, it sucks to end up like this but it's a sad truth, devs want survivors to be the main attraction of the game, killers haven't been decent sibce at least pre-patch Pyramid Head (I played when Oni came out on switch)
I tunneled before for the same reason. It's my license I paid for for my entertainment.

In the same vein though, if you feel a disagreement about a perk that many people are complaining about is just them being noobs, then my takeaway is there's a distinct lack of awareness.

I think players who stick it out in this scenario should just get a big bloodpoint bonus (maybe 10k...?) awarded after the match
imo if we're gonna go that route, they should just divide the 32k BP they'd get for a perfect game into the remaining survivors that don't DC. It'll not only reward people for sticking it through, that would also help with the BP grind. Especially if that grant ignores the BP cap like most grants already do.

I guess millage may vary. I play killer mostly and yeah boons are annoying but like I just move onto the next game. I have never been annoyed enough to post about it. It might be because I play this game maybe 8 matches a day or so, I don't go hard.
Well I came back to play Nurse, which was a mechanical mistake as well as boons. Before I mained Nurse though, I played like 600 hours of Wraith. So I went back to Wraith, and sure enough I had trouble there too, and every match had shadowstep and COH. Of course I had trouble, I couldn't find anyone and hit-and-run doesn't work anymore. BBQ's entire purpose was undermined, Nurses is undermined, if I can't find anyone to down then Surge never triggers, etc. etc. It just straight up was not fun on any killer I've played since returning, and a lot of it is because of the boons doing booney stuff.

we supposed to ignore the trapper and plague buffs that came WITH Boons?
I don't ignore it, but they buffed two of the lower played killers while greatly providing a mildly overpowered (but also extremely frustrating) set of perks to the survivors that affect all the survivors in the game. Look at what that did to RPD's 3rd floor. I'm certain there's also things we can do on other maps, like ironworks and Léry's.

Not to be rude, but sounds like you might need the break from DbD. If you take it that seriously. DC penalty = players go play something else while they can't play DbD, perhaps to never come back.
And if they go play a multiplayer game while they wait (is it seriously longer than 5 minutes??) that game I am more than willing to bet will also have a DC penalty system if it's got dedicated match times, and isn't a general log in and do stuff kind of game like Minecraft or Overwatch's Quickplay or their Arcade.
However I think I'm done with the conversation with you. I've explained in three different ways now that it's not about what you want once the match starts, and that the other 4 people in your game wanted a game to play with 4 other people that also signed up to play in their match.

Eh. I said etc. And most of them are also toxic in egc.
with your argumentation, using emotes or teabagging after pallet stuns/at open exit gates shouldn’t be considered toxic.
Personally I don't think either of those are toxic. What are they supposed to do, open chat to tell the killer "lmao sorry man!" mid match?

Survivors get to keep their items and add-ons, and get the 5,000 escaped survival points. I don't see the problem?
DC'ing makes for some of the funniest moments in Dead by Daylight, but it always comes at the expense of at least one unhappy person.
Again, it's your point of view and everyone else's is being ignored. I play for THE MATCH, not the rewards.
Please, you are literally the kind of person who does not need to be playing multiplayer video games. Go play something else that you can put down whenever you want. Just because you don't understand (or refuse to acknowledge) the importance of committing to the game does not change that the importance exists.

I don't think anyone honestly cares to "change your mind", usually people who end a conversation with that are set in their way and incapable of hearing anything else and aren't open to conversation about the topic.
There's an entire video series on YouTube with that being the basis, and this person does in fact a few times have a different takeaway ending the videos.

We're all wasting time. It's a video game. And if you're not playing it for fun and/or a living, then why?
You can try to talk me in circles, but I hopped in the queue to play a game, and if you leave you're wasting my time. Just because YOU don't value YOUR time in the videogame doesn't mean others don't as well.
In fact I started a thread earlier talking about how I feel super awful for having to DC as killer, earlier. I actually felt terrible for the survivors who's time I wasted.

Face it mate, there's still very busted things in Dead by Daylight. No one should be forced to play against certain 'things'.
There is no "face it mate." If you're in my game and you DC, you've now wasted MY time. Why is your feels important but mine are ignored?
-
Don't worry! We have Easy Anti Cheat to stop the cheaters! They have nothing to worry about; they license a 3rd party to handle it.
🙃
-
@GoshJosh said:
I’d prefer the opposite! Can’t force players to stay in a match they’re not having fun in. Not to mention all the cheaters.
I agree with the cheater part, I disagree with the match you're not having fun in. There's 4 other players other than "you", and they hopped in the queue all the same as "you". It's not about "you" once the match starts, when we talk about the health of individual matches.
-
@MrPeanutbutter said:
I think CoH is one of the biggest reasons for the game becoming less fun for both sides. Boons now give whole survivor teams infinite healing, destroying the hit and run play style that made tunneling and camping less of a necessity. Killers now have a secondary objective to snuff (but can’t destroy!) boons when gens speeds were already a problem. Killers now have to commit chases and try to tunnel survivors out of the match early to get anything better than a zero kill with all survivors t-bagging at the exit gates.
Of course then you get the groups that build around it, using any combination of DH, BT, DS, Distortion, Iron Will, all the boons, prove thyself, and of course, maps to find the totems to make it work.
Then they get mad when you slug, tunnel or camp. Like, seriously? lmao

@tippy2k2 said:
Because they might have been waiting for 5+ minutes for that game, using a high offering and item add-ons only for them to get thrown away and have a bunch of their time wasted as they now have to requeue.
You might have had a very good reason for it but that's not a ton of comfort to someone who might have a hour to play total and have 1/4 of their little free time burned by a killer quitting right away.
I'm not saying this to make you feel bad or anything, just giving you a reason why they might be super salty about you leaving right away
Absolutely none of that reasoning makes it ok to directly insult me in the end game chat, even with me apologizing. Besides, by that logic they're screwed anyway, because the alternative is I afk and alt tab to fix it, so they still get a crap game. It's lose/lose for everyone. They should chill out.
I wish I could load custom games alone so I can fix it before queueing. But I cannot.

Uhhh, never. MMR doesn't exist at night when the survivor Qs are so backed up.
This is also a factor. The game totally throws the MMR concept out the window to keep the queue times from reaching literally 20+ minutes. Even now it's still approaching that, and I'm fairly certain there's a few people who have had it. I know I've had 15 minute queues as killer in the past.

Difference being that DS and BT don't singlehandedly bring back the game nearly as much as NOED does. Aswell as that, the counter to BT (and DS to an extent) is just not tunneling.
NOED, especially on a high mobility killer, can easily turn a 0K game into a 2K or more with little to no effort from the killer.
I heavily disagree that DH and DS don't "bring back the game."
You can choose to go do bones and get rid of NOED, in the same way you can just slug survivors. And no, it's not a "little to no effort from the killer" situation. If a survivor does not want to be seen, and knows how to not be seen, they won't be seen. The killer still has to approach and M1 them, and pray the whole time another survivor isn't kicking his totem or opening the gate so someone else can flashlight save who you just NOED'd.
NOED does not make the game free.
Personally I think the perk needs a buff to be more useful during the trial, like permanent 3% move speed increase. Something that's hard to see but is still useful to the killer.
