Yes I think anyone defending the grind is absolutely contrarian or very very uninformed of things, as there is no actual good reason to have a grind system worse than F2P Gacha games.
I can live with this very very uninformed opinion of things.

It's amusing to me to see anyone defend the grind. Makes me think some people will defend anything just to be contrarian.
What a loaded comment. Anyone commenting on this is automagically contrarian now.
tbh though they shouldn't remove the grind. They should base the price of just buying perks outright after you unlock them on how long the grind should be, imo, but I can see the complaint of a new player coming into it and noping out. As long as it's not pay to win and there's still a grind that should be pretty reasonable.
[edit] reworded some stuff to be less #########-key

To be fair the "grind" is kind of in your head, there's no particular reason you need level 3 on every perk for instance let alone need every perk unlocked on a given killer, let alone trying to unlock every perk on every killer. If you're more content to play with the perks the web gives you then you're not spending millions on bloodpoints chasing that "catch em all" dream.
Not that I'm against them making it easier for people to get specific perks or add-ons they want. I'm just saying you'll only see it as a grind if you see your main objective as unlocking literally everything when you don't actually need to do that.
Not that I'm against them making it easier for people to get specific perks
IMO, given how long it's been, they shouldn't alter it too far at this point. It'll just frustrate those of us who did spend the time on the grind all these years. Like, directly buying specific perks for like 150k (or another large ish sum) wouldn't be unreasonable. If you're so dead set on unlocking Mad Grit that you spend 50 games and don't see it, then yeah sure just buy it. You'll have 150k by then.

The window wasn't an option initially because the feng min (body blocker) came through it with the killer behind, and the hurt Bill was on the doorway I ran through. I ended up trying to vault through the window after i realized she was bodyblocking intentionally but I was picked up. The very first 30 secs of the game the feng min was hurt, came towards Bill across the map, and the killer went for myself.
How do you know she wasn't waiting for a pallet stun, and you ruined it for her?

I think they are a bit disconnected on this issue. They hear the criticism, but they do not seem to understand just how bad it is.
It could also easily be the opposite approach. MMOs, for example, intentionally make crafting long and time consuming to increase how long you spend in-game.

Clock Tower is definitely the videogame license I'd go for. Not even a big fan of the series but Scissorman would be a great addition.
IMO we should go for even more obscure games, like Phantasmagoria. I'd so love to play survivor as Adrienne Delaney, or to play killer as Don, who can use The Demon's powers to do stuff around the map. A shared CD (like exhaustion) for Instadowns, instabreaks, and instakicks would be cool ngl to take advantage of The Demon's "power" from the game.
-
Am I allowed to say myself?
If not, GoodBoyKaru, Sluzzy, Orion, TheGannMan (sorry if I butchered the spelling :c) and I know there's more names I can see in my head, but I don't want to misrepresent them.

I understand the point you are making, the fanbase in fnaf its one of the most toxic and annoying ones but judging a game just because the fanbase is bad its kinda dumb but yeah I wouldnt like to see the majority of the fnaf fanbase in the game but just because i dont like the comunity doesnt means that the character itself would be bad
It's not about judging a game based off the fanbase. It's about not wanting to encourage the fanbase to do even more of the crap we don't want already, because they get their way, while behaving in the way we find annoying.
It's beyond infuriating that every time a new killer rolls around, and we have no info on it, the forums are literally flooded with FNAF content. This is not a FNAF forum.

before leaving comments thanks. no one here is complaining about bloodrush, WE are complaining about the actual state of the game
You're complaining that we got a bloodrush instead of the fixes you listed being corrected.
How is that not complaining about bloodrush?

They need an artificial cap to make you actually spend it, instead of just hoarding it until you can power level a character.

I literally stopped reading after the first line/question.
The answer is so it doesn't waste MY time as the killer.

Hex: I Win. If Hex; I Win is cleansed or booned, all four survivors instantly go into the downed state and cannot recover. Hex: I Win disables all recovery perks and enables secondary perk: Deerstalker.
Hex: I Win blocks the exit gates.

Pretty much the only people left playing killer are masochists these days.
And people willing to let survivors be mad over a video game~
-
As killer: I remind the survivors I did not queue to be on their team, and I am not responsible for their reaction to how I play. I don't deviate much from those reminders, and just laugh it off. I even speak the same message when I'm the one getting rolled.
As a survivor: I ask the killer what was frustrating, and try to have a conversation about it.

All Seeing used to be strong, it's really mediocre now. The aura reading is tiny. Honestly, his iri that lets him track gens is a lot better.
Well as a player with 500+ hours on just Wraith, I feel it's still exceptionally strong, especially if I'm using it as a face check assistant instead of as a radar.

All Seeing Blood

I haven't seen many, myself. It's been a hot minute

Nah
-
Maybe they don't want people logging in with their unique identifier? It doesn't really matter why.
-
Just remind yourself it's not your place -as a solo queueing killer- to satisfy the needs of the 4 other players you did not queue with.
Long story short: Let them be mad. Play how you want.

Didn't realize this post got so many replies recently. Update on my pinhead experience, I looked up some guides and have been playing him as my main for the month and I think I've gotten pretty decent with him. I do use the technique where you spawn the chains right on top of the survivor and my build with him atm is hex plaything(fav perk), stbfl, hex pentimento,, and I switch between hoarder and renosance. My only major problem with him is that I feel like I'm using his Iri fang addon poorly and when I use it I usually get crushed as idk the correct playstyle yet so I just opt not to use it. I also don't really like Franklin's on him because I'd rather open the box when I down the survivor holding it
For his fang you need to treat it like a ranged hit you have more control over. Like Huntress blended with Nurse. Only you can't throw a second one for damage. It's still super nice though if you understand how the map is laid out and can take advantage. An example being near the doors on Midwich. You can fang them on the high ground, and punish them for dropping through the window. Or just hit them and if they never drop you can literally listen to where they're going.
IMO Fang and Impaling Wire is a magical combination. The fang is a hit, but the second set of chains break and reset on everything. On indoor maps it's a nightmare, because you get like 18 chains instead of just 3.

Yes, I'm gonna go to the edge of the map, because someone is solving the box.
If you can catch them, and force a new hunt, look at that they can't cleanse/bless Ruin now and I get free info/radar on where somebody is.
Why would I not go to the edge of the map?

Franklin's maybe, but it hurts Pinhead more then usually helping him. And Hoarder is just weak info perk that doesn't even help you in any way.
Maybe it doesn't help you if you ignore the info *shrug*

Bro, I'm stuck at high mmr, because I'm overperfoming. You think perks like hoarder or franklin's demise will help pinhead in his current state? Wrong. He needs an offensive perks to even be a slightly threat.
...but those...
...those are offensive perks...

Because you play against low skilled survivors at low mmr
If you say so. lol.
"I disagree with you, thus you are at low MMR." Quite the compelling argument.

Hoarder and Franklins is useless on them. If you pick up the box from the ground, the box will respawn faster (10 seconds). It's better to down them without using Franklin's demise, it will take 30 seconds to respawn a box. And with how short it is to solve the box, it is useless to bring hoarder with him. You just get an useless info and that's all.
I have the opposite experience.
-
Very basic rundown:
Use the possessed chain to frustrate loops. Don't use it to close distance.
Depending on your play style and build, try to force chain hunts instead of chases. That's how I prefer to play him. Just make the game take 20 minutes and don't let anyone do anything. While chain hunt is active they can't do much with totems because of the chains c: so ruin does lots of work for you.
Personally I run:
Ruin, Hoarder, Lethal Pursuer, Franklins.
-
You can camp whenever you want. Anyone who says differently is attempting to control how you play.

Then don't prestige your characters.

The survivor was only able to use the snowmen because she missed her shots.
So you agree that the survivor used the snowmen defensively, and in a fairly unfun way for the killer.
Thanks for clarifying <3

Notice how the huntress in that clip is terrible at actually landing her hits. Dont do what she did. Land your hits and youll be fine. Also they don't gain a speed boost and those snowmen disapear permanently when someone tanks a hit in them. The snowmen are basically a nonissue.
Her being unfortunate with her aim doesn't change how the Survivor used the snowmen.

I want Tofu.

I like the part where survivors just run behind the snowmen so it respawns when you try to hit them but still are safe.

You can use software to enhance certain frequencies, but it's a global per-PC thing and not directly tied to DBD. That becomes a pain in the ass over time and is just worth to learn to use DBD's mixing.

The "frustrating" thing to deal with that I mean is more the sense of:
Making it hard for the killer to complete their challenge, AND being cocky by clicking their flashlights, t-bagging, and acting like they're so much more. Which I can say 100% I did none of those things. I simply ran into a corner far from the hook because I did not want to be anywhere near that basement.
You literally admitted in the OP that he had the basement hooks challenge, and that you were actively avoiding giving it to him by running as far away as possible from the basement.
Seriously, my guy?
-
Or, maybe, it's part of a bandage. The whole Resident Evil thing.
-
A) This is technically reportable, I think, being blocked into a corner and not being interacted with to get the noclip.
B) Why do you admit that survivors can be frustrating to deal with, then proceed to do the frustrating things you know are frustrating?

You are moving at slugged levels of movementspeed. You cant really be that slow unless you're on console.
Besides, there would be plenty of issues with having a gigantic snowman too. You wouldnt be able to tell where the survivor hitbox is untill extensive research, you wouldnt know if a survivor is inside and just standing still or not untill you walk at them. And if you want to fix that by giving the survivor the hitbox that is the size of the snowman, lots more issues are created that way. You'd be at a net-negative just for a cosmetic, no reason to ever use it, at which point, why even make events?
Did you know that plenty of (high ranking, too!) players use a controller on PC? (coughcough
Copecoughcough *coughcoughSpooknJukescoughcough*) You can readily move a slower than run speed on any platform. On the topic of "why even make events":
So you think that it's ok for Behavior to just drop shields in random locations on the map that only benefit survivors, but not ok to make their hitboxes bigger to benefit killer? I'm just trying to follow the logic.

I read all the posts. even yours SonicOffline. I went up against a Nemesis this morning who absolutely took us apart with his perks and addons. Starstruck, etc. The snowmen did not seem to even slow him down. He just bashed them open and kept pursuing. Do killers have fun? I didn't think it was about fun but more about the need to hunt and kill. I guess I learned something from you. If you play for fun, let us have fun too. I don't use shadow step or even dead hard. I think you should camp the hook and see if any snowmen arrive.
A) Thank you for reasonably conversing with me even though we have differing opinions on the matter.
B) It's entirely possible there are killer players who are figuring out ways around the shenaynays. I just know for me, in my experience, I have seen people now intentionally using the snowmen to absorb hits. Like, the actual game that led me to making this second thread on the snowmen was infuriating. 3 flashlights and a medkit, 4 DS's, 4 Borrowed Time, and the other two perks per survivor were still meta, just not all the same. They would run me like you'd expect competent survivors to run a Nurse, but would aim for the snowmen and 360 around them. So I was forced into a situation where if I blink too far, I hit the snowman because I can't swing and avoid it. Or if I blinked too short, I'd still have to walk through the snowmen they were clearly using as a body guard.
To be fair, in that specific game I got the rapid CD blink bug at least twice, both near the docks (I was on the Swamp) as well as just barely not blinking far enough by a hair and losing blinks to the hill and other terrain. Some of which was next to a snowman, that of course, they just used as a means to absorb hits. I really wish I was recording, and I'm now firing up my software so I can hopefully catch some of the shenaynays.

Because they are bad and if they were baited into hitting the snowman then they would have missed the hit without a snowman anyway

Oh, I didn't mean you were bashing them, I didn't want to bash them myself, I'm very bad at Huntress myself so I feel them for missing open shots, I just didn't want to keep using them as an example, because that clip doesn't really show the issues you are describing, but just a player who is not too versed in playing Huntress.
Oh, ok. lol. misunderstanding then.
My point then I was attempting to push was they're now extra random terrain that didn't exist before that you can interact with. Survivors can either hop into them and use them as a get out of jail free card against some killers, and heavily frustrate others.
Like, it completely undermines T3 Myers, Ghostieboy, and Twins. It also causes headaches for Nurse. It's just frustrating that I'm already seeing survivors use them to push playing the game in not chill ways.
