Except they crawled to safety before actually dying....
Death in DBD is Bleeding out before you can get help, being sacrificed to the Entity, or being killed by the hands of the killer.
The gate is the safe place the survivors ESCAPE to...meaning if they crawl through it then someone on the other side can save them.
So.... no. Once the gates are opened survivors can only "stall" the game for 4 minutes maximum. And, let's be real, the most the game is usually stalled is less than a min or two. Meanwhile as a killer I just run around and break more stuff for the points. If the survivors want to stand there for a minute while I grab some points - more power to them.
-
Will survivors get 25% more bloodpoints and emblem progress automatically for actions they do then after a DC?
I mean shouldn't they get that bonus after the DC since they are now having to do 25% more work on gens/rescues/etc?
I'm 100% completely ok with your suggestion IF it also applies to survivor BP for gens/totems/unhooks/heals/chases - since everything becomes more difficult for them when someone DCs. That increased difficulty should result in increased BP by 25% for EACH DC.
I mean fair is fair - if the killer job becomes easier and they get the BP for all hook states (and credit in emblem) - then conversely survivors should get a bonus as well.

Just went against a rank 1 trickster who got a 4k. I guess he is op.
Or he spent time learning the killer's mechanic and is experienced with loops, mindgames, etc.
I have seen plenty of good Tricksters in red ranks - doesn't mean he is a good killer or easy to learn - just means that he can be a good killer in the right hands.
-
I stopped reading after you said you purposefully DC'd and blamed others for your choice.

Wow look at that - you started your thread 16 minutes after a post in: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/250353/why-fog-offerings-luck-and-basement-offerings-still-a-thing#latest
Eyeroll.

In a 4 person SWF - Hmmm maybe 6 months? With 1-2 friends probably a month.
I play survivor 50% of my time, but most of the time I play solo.
I enjoy the unpredictability of random survivors.

Any one else getting lag when playing as killer? I was also told in chat they saw me hitting walls because of the lag.
No I very rarely get lag - but I don't use WiFi - I use a direct connection to my router. I am on PC as well.

I mean if they are truly taking the game hostage - report them.
At least with reporting them - if they truly are taking the game hostage - and you have proof - then they will get a suspension and others won't have to deal with their behavior.

Wow - you managed to say exactly the same thing as the last 50 threads that are about him....

Hey Killers! When you're in pre-game do you check Survivor names and recognize/memorize names? Does it ever affect the way that you play your game if you recognize a Survivor?
I'm just curious! I think I went against the same Killer once and that they were less aggressive the second time around but I don't know how much of that was my imagination. 😊
If it is a memorable name I may remember it. I am horrible with names in general though. It is usually a survivor who will come to my stream afterwards and tell me they have played against or with me before.

Especially huntress, never met a decent one.
Just the thing I noticed since I started playing this game. They're not. Generalizing players into one group or another is just another way to generate baseless bias. For every "toxic" Huntress someone can point to one who is not - and another killer who is.... There is already enough hyperbole and vitriol on these forums without perpetuating even more.

Hmmm - guess I am lucky. Past 2 weeks I have only seen 1 Blight in about 60 or so matches. He is one of the lesser killers I see - along with Twins, Trickster, and Billy.
-
I haven't seen anything like OP described - I play on PC but I have cross-play enabled. I play 50/50 and haven't had any killer DC at the end in quite some time. Usually a killer DCs in the first 3-4 mins of a match if they are not doing well. Granted I prolly only see killers purposefully DCing once every 20-25 matches. I have never purposefully DC'd - never understand the "logic" behind losing your bloodpoints and getting a temp ban.

The hyperbole in this thread: LOL.

Yes because generalizing an entire group/community has always been so accurate in the past. Makes me wonder if judging others based off those similar to them is something you do in other areas of your life.... If you don't want to appear narrow minded - maybe stop saying narrow minded things.
The hyperbole and vitriol on these forums is inane to say the least.
-
Play how you would want a killer to play against you as a survivor - that is what I do.
If you don't have a lot of experience as a survivor - get some. I have found playing killer makes me play better as a survivor and vice versa.
And do yourself a favor and turn off end game chat - it serves no real purpose except for sweaty and salty players to attempt to degrade and demoralize you.

@danielmaster87 said:
This game holds survivors hands so hard it's not even funny. All the gens can be done in about 5 minutes. We have second chance perks like DH and BT. Most killers suck design-wise and are not viable in higher level play. Looping is easy. Survivor mistakes are not that damaging in the long run.
Why, then, would you stand around like a bunch of rank 20s, not taking the aggro, not doing gens, not opening chests, and not even cleansing totems? To the survivors who do this: way to go. You just made someone who never DC's... DC.
Interesting how much power and control you give others over your actions. I didn't realize anyone could MAKE someone DC - always assumed it was a choice to DC.
-
Like many of the claims on these forums by killers and survivors - hyperbole.
When people use words like "always" "every" "almost always" "every other" etc etc etc - I just assume they are lying/being hyperbolic.

Side note, I want you to think about how you translated "TGB gets all the perks" into "TGB wins".
Maybe you're gatekeeping power, instead?
You don't want everyone to be on equal footing because, as you've just subconsciously revealed, you translate that into you always losing.
(Don't get mad at me, you actually literally just Freudian'd that.)
At any rate...
Tierless perks would... would that literally cut the grind into being 1/3? That would be quite sufficient, yes. Something like that is definitely acceptable to me.
As I keep saying: I just want to be able to play the game. I don't want to have to grind it to the point of hating the game before getting to play it.
Nice try at psychoanalyzing, but you are completely inaccurate in your assessment.
You can call it gatekeeping all you want, but others call it progressing. FYI the game is easily playable as a survivor with the base universal perks and even just one other character's teachables. Just because YOU don't think it's not playable doesn't actually make it unplayable as MANY have and still do play without even 1/3rd of the available perks.
This conversation is circular at best - and feeding your desire to try and analyze people completely without merit based off a simple online interaction consisting of a dozen sentences. With that being said - your obstinance in wanting it all now in order to "enjoy" the game is tiresome and will not lead to any actual conversation. Good luck in your future "discussions" as I will not bother replying any further to you here or probably any thread as it is obviously pointless. (Waits for the "Aha told you so" reply.)

An hour wait for a match as killer huh??? Doesn't seem hyperbolic at all (eyeroll). Approx 1700 hours as a killer and my absolute longest wait was on stream: 16 minutes. I did have a 19 minute wait once as survivor though (Approx 1500 hours as survivor).
I see you registered like 12 hours ago and have basically just complained about survivors in every post (30+) - says all I need to know about your statements :)
-
Never played RE - so doesn't matter to me. I am more interested in the perks than the killer/survivors. I have heard rumors both ways saying there will/won't be a new map - frankly if there's not a new map that will be the biggest disappointment to me regardless of who the killer/survivors end up being. If there's no new map and the perks are "meh" this will be the first and only DLC I won't buy.

Yes. Why not? Why are you constantly trying to gatekeep the game? Literally ask yourself that. (You'll find the answer is because you feel like others should have to go through the bad thing that you did.)
A lot of people saying they just "played the game and enjoyed it and ended up unlocking everything". I wonder how many of those people are saying this because they did it very early on in the game's existence, and were thus grinding at the same time as everyone else, following the general curve of everyone's perk gains. (As in, opposed to someone grinding today, where every opposing player(s) have maxed perks (and are all a 4stack if you're Killer), while you have either nothing, or the very basic perks that don't even remotely compete.)
As a side note, I want you to keep in mind that basic-ass Survivor perks are WWAAYY better than basic-ass Killer perks. Just as a little extra note here...
That's the problem you have - you assume that my "grind" was a bad thing. I enjoyed (almost) every game I have played since I began 4+ years ago. I enjoyed leveling characters and seeing their teachables on my bloodweb. I enjoyed playing the game with limited and then new shiny perks. Maybe stop assuming what I, and everyone else in turn, finds enjoyable. Do I think certain things could and should be done to lessen the "grind" - yes - like tier-less perks. That alone would make perks appear MUCH faster and save players a ton of bloodpoints. But No I do not think every perk should be unlocked at level 1 and just appear like they do in custom games. You can stomp your feet all you want, and decry the game/players for the "Sunk Cost Fallaciers gatekeep DBD" but I can guarantee your "I Win" demands will never be implemented in this game.

Pig is weak?? uhh ok.
-
BBQ encourages killers to not tunnel/camp - you wanna get those 4 stacks.
WGLF encourages survivors to take protection hits and unhook - you wanna get those 4 stacks.
It's not like 100% is automatic - they have conditions on both that have to be met.
Encouraging players to play more "fair" and "altruistic" is a good thing. I wish there were more alternative perks for both sides which encouraged such behaviors- think it would be healthy for the game overall.
-
That would do nothing to prevent camping. Camping killers already get low BP at the end of the match usually - especially if the other 3 just do gens while they waste their time standing there camping the hook. I doubt any BP incentivizing would change most of their behavior.

Oh I never said I NEED it to survive. I'm saying the increasing number of toxic killers makes the perk a staple in the game.
Wouldn't know - Only used it twice since it has been out - and been red rank survivor for 4 years. So it may be a staple for you, but trust me when I say plenty of survivors have never used it and have no need to use it. The change made to it recently was needed as it was being abused for a free 60 seconds of doing whatever you wanted - which was contrary to the intention of the perk: to help you in the event you are tunneled. It is still a perfectly good anti-tunnel perk.

I really don't think totem should even have a chance of getting cleanses within the first minute of a game. As you said, there are sometimes games where the survivors never find it. But they are not even remotely balanced with the times that the totem is easily found and removed before the game has a chance to even begin.
Totem spawns definitely need to be looked at.
So you don't think survivors should be able to do one of their objectives for one minute - every round?? Nah. Maybe they will make a perk like Corrupt Intervention that blocks totems for 1-2 minutes - THAT I would be in favor of as that would require you to use a perk to guard your totems. Automatically disabling one of the objectives survivors can do though is completely unbalanced. That would be like saying a killer couldn't attack the first 60 seconds of a match - pretty sure most killers would not be in favor of their main objective being impossible for the first minute.

The game isn't fun when it's always a 4-stack of max-Perk Survivors flashlight spamming you and teabagging you at the gates. Efficiently managing their time, everyone having Borrowed Time and other obnoxious things, and the game starting with 2-3 gens down.
Yes. That is when...
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2186661#Comment_2186661
That is when I want free stuff so that I can play the game with the best stuff. Because everyone I'm playing against has the best stuff.
You had to go through the grind? I'm sorry you had to do that. But I don't also want to have to, ESPECIALLY if it's just because YOU had to. That is NOT a good reason.
Improve the game. It's that simple. Don't hold onto improvements because, like I said several times, all the Sunk Costers would feel mad about it.
Let me BUY the game at a full price value, including all perks. Hey, how about you make it up to the Sunk Costers by giving them Auric Cells based on... their player level, or how many teachables they've unlocked, or something like that. BAM, done & done. Everyone's happy. (Well of course some people will still be mad, because they like being mad and they like gatekeeping. But, there'd be a lot more people happy than there are now.)
DO NOT LET GATEKEEPERS RUIN THIS GAME! MAKE DECISIONS THAT ARE GOOD FOR THE GAME!
I didn't consider it a grind. I enjoyed playing and unlocking every perk. Would I be upset if they got rid of perk tiers - no not really. Aside from that I don't think anything else needs to be done about "the grind." What's next - asking for Bloodpoints that can be bought so you can level each character up and get those 6 pages of perks??

I LOVE going against Scratched Mirror Myers! The jump scares bring back the horror aspect of the game for me. It's very irritating when one or more people DC as soon as they figure out it's Scratched Mirror. I will never understand people purposefully DCing over something so silly - just get hooked - and die on hook if you want out THAT bad.
I main The Doctor as killer and see quite a few DCs because people don't want to face him - like seriously? Makes me wonder why these people even bother playing if they will only verse certain killers/add-ons. I see something similar on some killers when they DC due to survivors using certain perks or items - baffles me. I had a killer DC the other day in the EGC because - I had Soul Guard and he had NOED. He had 8 hooks (no kills) and was trying to slug everyone with NOED I assumed. As soon as I escaped - he DC'd. I was talking about it in my stream: Basically saying "Why would someone lose all their BP etc and do that!?!?" when he came in and called me a few racist and homophobic words - that told me everything I needed to know and he was immediately banned.

Yeah because all survivors do that! (sarcasm).
I gave the killer the gnome earlier - I saw it omw to the exit gate. Once I opened the gate I purposefully fast vaulted some windows by it to get their attention.. .waited for killer in crouch/point position - he got the gnome then he downed me with NOED and mori'd me. I'm not biased enough though to say anything like "this is why killers deserve less."
Would I do it again - sure why not? It's just a game and I have no need to judge an entire side of the game based off one person's actions.

In regards to keys: I think they should just make it that keys only work for one person. As far as a timer goes - if they are limited to one person - maybe like a 3-5 second duration to use; depending on addon (Make new addons that reduce the duration (very rare) 1 second and (ultra rare) 2 seconds).

You will find the majority of vitriol and hyperbole on these forums comes from "mains."
Most "mains" are so blinded with bias that their posts are just hyperbolic ramblings. I truly wish BHVR would implement an ignore/block feature on the forums so I could stop seeing the same baseless claims by "mains" in threads which are attempting to provide an actual intelligent conversation.

The dreaded TTV. I'm a beginner killer and I really don't need to be publicly humiliated and called various curse words.
You do realize most TTV are small streamers and do not publicly humiliate players right? Of all the streamers I have watched (well over 500) - I would say maybe a handful are what I would call "toxic" streamers - the ones who complain and degrade others. I belong to a Discord group of small streamers and their viewers - probably 120-125 small streamers and I have watched every single one of them - and none of them would have been invited to the Discord if they were "toxic" streamers.
When I am playing killer and there is a ttv survivor - I visit their stream before and after - to wish them good luck and to gg them. 99% of the time they are very cordial whether they win or lose.
I have went against everyone from Tofu, Otz, Elix, Ohmwrecker, AngryPug, and Tru3 to smaller streamers who had 3-20 viewers. Judging an entire group of persons based off limited interactions seems silly to me (and a bit discriminatory) - I judge individuals and not entire groups, but that's just how I was raised.

Out of my last 53 killer matches (Number of killer matches since the chest patch) I have had 5 people total escape with a key. So you know... 5 out of 212.

Killer or survivor. Or do you not dodge at all?
I dodge lobbies if I see more than two flashlights. It's not even a git gud situation, I just know these survivors are going to be really annoying - either they're going to find other ways to badger me at hooks, or they're just going to click at me all game. Lightborn makes good gotcha moments but doesn't stop annoying survivors from being annoying. I also don't trust Dwelfs; if I see a Dwelf with a flashlight, or a lobby of Dwelfs, I'm gone.
I don't dodge keys unless I'm doing an adept or an archive to get a 4k. And I love lobbies where all four survivors are the same character or identical, even if it probably means they're a SWF.
As a survivor, I dodge if I end up in a really provocative lobby - like all three of my teammates are carrying keys. I'll also dodge if I'm doing a flashlight challenge and I see other players with flashlights, because I don't want the killer to bring Lightborn.
I'm just curious about what things different people nope out at.
I don't dodge lobbies as killer or survivor. Why would I dodge? Keys? Flashlights? I would rather try to improve against items than dodge them in hopes of getting an easier match - I like challenges that help me improve my gameplay and don't need easy/easier wins.

Maybe not a perk but a in game mechanic were "The Entity" teleports the camper to a different location
This already happens with Cage of Atonement.
"A Cage of Atonement will generally spawn far away from The Executioner. Should The Executioner walk into close proximity of the Cage of Atonement and remains there for a short amount of time, it and the trapped Survivor will relocate to a different location on the Map.
This behaviour was chosen to prevent The Executioner from excessively camping trapped Survivors, due to the already inherent advantage of Cages of Atonement not triggering Hook-interaction Perks that could counter-act that."

I just think special events should...feel special. Having them every weekend could also backfire - why play during the week when I can get 2x bloodpoints every weekend??
-
Never watched either of them - I tend to watch smaller streamers.
The tutorial does need to be updated dramatically on both sides. Would be nice if they added things like looping (both sides) so both sides understood how to do/counter looping. The tutorial is WAY too basic imo and does not teach much for new players. I've always thought there should be other tutorials outside of the regular one which also let's players see how to play/go against each killer.

With the exception of NOED, which shouldn't exist IMO, the other ones you mentioned all have to be earned.
What do you do to earn Dead Hard? DS? BT? Unbreakable?
Argue with someone you can beat. Sit down.
Dead Hard cannot be used on a healthy survivor unlike: Balanced Landing, Smash Hit, Lithe, or Sprint Burst. There is a condition which must be met for all exhaustion perks.
DS is completely under the killer's control - especially after the rework. If you get DS'd that means you CHOSE to tunnel someone who just got off the hook and has done NOTHING to advance the game.
BT - especially with the killer near the hook is putting yourself in danger of either getting hit or downed.
Unbreakable - Again this is the killer's choice to slug. Otherwise this perk is useless.
Your problem is you think I am "arguing" - I am stating facts. I don't need to "argue" especially on an online forum (LOL), but I also have no desire to watch "mains" on these forums - either side - misrepresent facts. Look at my post history - I do not take sides - I reply with logic and facts because frankly these forums lack such traits in a lot of the threads.
As far as NOED - that is the survivor's fault - and just like UB and DS - is avoidable by making the choice to cleanse totems. Do I respect NOED users - not when they get 0-1k before NOED and then end up with 3-4k due to NOED, BUT again I still blame the survivors for being lazy and only focusing on one objective. See there - I can be objective on both sides - just wish more people were the same instead of babbling on with their bias, vitriol, and hyperbole.
I'll keep standing...thanks.

First of all it's not just me, 90% of the community know that this perk are bad, like really bad, plus they're not as impactfull as the survivor second chance perk.
This perk at best do something, at worst are pretty ######### worthless, blood warden need so much work behind to do something that is so depressing that literally make me want to use huntress lullaby instead of this.
And no way out it's a perk design to make the end game less painful, when it's a close call between killer and survivor (for example, you hooked one person, no way out does almost nothing for you) because if you could hook every individual survivor it means that you was doing not too badly, and even at his best, no way out its still a mediocre perk that often don't do anything.
You can't compare this perk to things like Unbreakable or ds, or adrenaline that can literally win games with they're own existent, and since the work you have to put on them, they're not second chance
DS is only a second chance perk if YOU the killer decide to go after the unhooked survivor. I couldn't tell you the last time I had DS used on me even BEFORE the rework. If you are getting DS - that's a situation you put yourself in the majority of the time as killer. Otherwise DS is just a waste of a perk slot so long as the killer doesn't tunnel. I don't need to tunnel to get 3-4ks on killer when I play: Doctor, Huntress, Plague, and Hag are my main killers I play.
Unbreakable - uhhh don't slug. Tada - another wasted perk slot.
As a survivor I know how to counter things like Blood Warden - someone is down - don't open gate until they are on hook - tada I just wasted your perk. Same goes with killers - Don't wanna be DS or have a survivor use UB - don't tunnel and slug - tada you just wasted their perks.
Acting like & saying survivors are the only ones with second chance perks - is a blatant lie. When you post with "main" bias it shows and makes those of us who can look at things objectively just roll our eyes at your hyperbole.
90% of the community - please stop making up BS statistics. #1 The forums ARE NOT a representation of the community as a whole. #2 There has been NO poll for the ACTUAL community on these perks. Pulling numbers out of your butt is just another hyperbolic move and does nothing to validate your statement - it does however make you look silly when you start to speak for 90% of the community without merit.
