It's been a few hours only.
Some people are probably getting used to his power in customs, and not everyone will buy the chapter. Plus there's a bloodrush, so people will want to play with killers they're comfortable to get lots of bloodpoints on.
I don't think we should jump to conclusions so early. =)
Wesker has been everywhere for weeks. The Knight barely survived a day and people are already switching off
-
I was about to report this as well.
Its just miserable since this "strategy" creates a lose-lose situation for the survivors no matter what. I really hope this gets hotfixed asap.

I am still waiting for some HEAVY camping nerfs. I do not care about people saying "thats his niche" or bs like that. A killer should not have 0 counterplay to a certain strategy.
Rushing gens and letting your mate die on first hook should not be considered the "counterplay". It is a waste of time, nobody enjoys the round and you barely get any BP. Twins got anticamping changes, Artist got them and even Billy to some degree so why does the most broken one stay untouched?
-
Trickster is one of my main killers but certain maps like Ormond make me wanna uninstall. He sadly has no mobility, map pressure or 4v1 potential but of course he needs recoil on his knives. Main event has a time limit for no reason. He is gettinh carried by his personality and looks tbh.
-
I wouldnt expect alot tbh. Reskinned gens and new skins by interacting with a new object on the map.
Always keep your expectations low.

No, not everyone agrees at all. I've heard from plenty of survivor mains that the really good Deathslinger mains were gonna be totally fine, the nerf wouldn't even impact him and that only the people that use him to win easy in chase cause they have no skill would be the ones impacted and they would have to move to Trickster. I'm still looking for those Deathslinger mains to see how they're doing now tho
I've seen one Slinger since the nerf and they got destroyed. It doesn't seem like there are (m)any left.

Trickster was very obviously meant to be a popular money-making killer. He's rated easy, has a familiar power lifted from a killer that statistically is the second most played, (Huntress) and had a whole bunch of marketing and such related to his K-Pop background. Look at the marketing for Trickster compared to Twins. He also gets skins every other patch, and has gotten about four balance updates, each with the intent of making him stronger. He was probably meant to be the next Huntress but paid, like how Blight was the next Billy, except this time they didn't nerf Huntress as well because of the devs being Huntress mains.
Unfortunately, since Trickster's power concept is intrinsically flawed because they tried to pull off old Legion again for whatever reason, he can and will never be strong. BHVR don't seem to realise this. I think somebody at BHVR is probably scratching their head, looking at pitiful kill and pick rates for Trickster and wondering what went wrong.
He could've easily been one if not the best killer cash cow if the power was as well designed as Pinhead's. Sadly his power seems like a second thought

I remember that @Pulsar had a forum post where they had crossplay off, but a PC hacker still got in their lobby. So it doesn't even work.
That one happened to me too. Fortunately it was the first and last one.

Pinhead has one of the highest skill ceiling imo. A good Pinhead will make the match pretty frustrating with good chains and consistent box spawn predictions.
The best you can do against the chainhunt is solving the cube while someone else is in chase. Most killers will not switch up midchase. And of course hope your mates do know when to go for the cube as well which will most likely never happen in solo q. Chain hunt is carrying the whole killer too much imo.

Because there's constantly people complaining how OP he is in chases and how unfair his quickscoping is... because they don't know how to evade him well. These changes made holding W an effective counter... Just wait, with the Pig changes, she'll fairly soon get a nerf that will only activate traps if she's near a survivor exactly when a gen pops and activates the trap manually
He doesn't have anything besides that "op" chase. No second ability, no map pressure and no mobility. If you want to nerf a killers only strength at least give them something in return.
Pig deserves every nerf she gets.
-
The spirit nerf might actually make her pretty bad. The directional noise should NOT be added. It nerfs her 1v1 chase and removed the 4v1 pressure. I do not enjoy going against spirit in her current state but these nerfs may turn her into Wraith 2.0.
Deathslinger got murdered. Nothing else to say. I don't understand why they would nerf one of the weaker killers that harshly. 110 ms with 32 TR come on Behaviour.
-
Because this isn't a horror game. The terror radius is already menacing enough by itself.
Adding a whole new mechanic would change the game too much

U are entirely wrong. Killer's aren't players. Buff survivors more. Despite devs nerf something about killers they forget to give something equal in return.
But Trapper can carriy 1 more trap. Now give me free boon totems.
-
Medkits with good addons will be a pain to deal with for killers. I hope this doesn't force Franklin's into the meta.

Where is Wraith?

His entire power, regardless of its actual impact in the game, is a huge letdown. Nemesis barely uses his tentacle in R3make, which is where his design is. They had SO MUCH they could have done with this killer, and they turned him into a baby deathslinger with a zombie gimmick and worse 1v1ing.
But yes, his power is underwhelming. Infection mechanic is just lazy as hell. Infecting survivors does nothing but make them cough, which in reality does not in any way make up for the fact that he must strike a survivor 3 times in order to actually down them if you wish to use his power at all.
Ideally you scrap the infection being required to do damage, increase speed of zombies to be just faster than survivors walking so they can't walk zombies away from things, fix zombie aggro. And actually make infection DO something to the survivors to actually impact the game. As is, he's a bottom 5 killer at absolute best.
They put a budget plague infection on a budget pyramid m2.
He sucks and has a abilty that doesn't represent his RE3 attacks and powers
-
Trickster is easily one of the best killers right now. He just has a very high skill ceiling and needs to be really precise.
Main event is way too strong imo. The timer should be cut by half and it should only be usable after reloading. He may be weak in chase but those drawbacks are balanced by the 24/7 map pressure and 4v1 potential. I think they should buff his chase and nerf the oppressive map pressure.
The knives as throwables are such a unique and interactive power and main event takes it even further. A true masterpiece.

Mhmm thats the issue right there, lack of addons! Marvins Blood is hands down his best one, and the ones that boost respawn time can help relocate zombies somewhere better. I will agree with you that when I read "Nemesis" I was not expecting a whip cracking tyrant, but he's not terrible, just different.
A killer shouldn't really be addon dependent in the first place. Imo Nemesis is just a worse Pyramid head in every way. Way too easy to loop against and forcing m1 hits turns him into Trapper 2.0.
-
Yeah each time you switch between Charlotte and Victor you hear a gen getting completed. It does get annoying and pretty confusing after a while but I guess it's just a audio bug.
I'd avoid playing the Twins until this gets fixed.
-
500k for red rank survivor and killer is pretty low. The game already has one of the grindiest systems and keeping the rewards at such a low level just makes it even less attractive for anyone.
-
I'll never understand how some people in this discussion consider Pinhead strong. The only time a Pinhead is actually strong is with purple or iridescent addons. The chain hunt can be completely avoided the whole game with by any decent team. The power is really hard to hit and doesn't even guarantee a hit.
Base kit PH feels worse than release Trickster
-
@Sleem said:
You do realize Blight and Nemesis are actually 2 of the strongest killers in this game right?
Blight is easily one of the top 3 killers but Nemesis is pretty average. You can force him to m1 by looping really tightly and the zombie ai is as consistent as solo q claudettes. There are many better picks than Nemesis.
-
Without the chain hunt he would be pretty bad. You can easily avoid it by using the box while the killer is midchase.
-
There are way more killer and survivor cosmetics that break the atmosphere. Why shouldn't we be able to disable skins first since they are more distracting?

BT is fine. You have more than enough time and zoning potential even as an M1 Killer to Hook cycle against the Unhookers even against 3 Survivors attempting to go for an Unhook unless you literally Hooked next to an Exit Gate. In which case, that's on you.
If you really ######### hate BT and not being able to "secure a Kill", take Save the Best for Last.
I don't even play killer though. BT is always active, doesn't require any conditions to activate and gives 15 sec endurance on EACH unhook.
There no reason not to run it every game cause its always amazing.

I'm talking about what you said about killers being punished for using their own power. Nurse's fatigue, Hillbilly's overheat, Clown's yellow bottles speeding survivors up, Legion's fatigue, Blight's fatigue, Victor being kickable even after a successful down, Trickster's knives going away on their own. It's like the devs can't make a killer without giving them a built-in counter for the survivors to benefit off of.
That's what I don't get. The counterplay to Pinhead should be dodging the chains and using the environment to break the chains fast. That should be more than enough but Pinhead just straight up breaks them himself. Guess the killer is considered a part of the environment then.
I don't mind mechanics like fatigues but don't stack them.
-
BT is way too strong atm and needs some nerfs but at the same time it's basically a necessity to equip each match. I love the idea of making it weaker on its own but also taking half of it into the base kit.
Let's hope the devs actually implement something like this.

@Caleegi said:
The game is just boring after a while lmao, needs more game modes and i think they should add some but can these devs really handle more game modes? They cant get one working.
You really think they can add a new game mode when they can't even get the maps to work properly?
RPD has been disabled for multiple weeks since the release.
-
I'd love that. Make ds the ultimate anti tunnelling perk so those annoying Wraiths think twice before spending 5 minutes next to the hook.

Not a great argument, imo. Any killer will down a survivor eventually, and pretty much every reworked map has high walls and obstacles. Trickster will only get an inevitable down if you're looping him somewhere where he can easily get knives in before they decay, or you're literally out in the open - both are losing situations to be in and ones that he SHOULD be strong in.
Trickster has counterplay - quite a significant bit, actually. People comparing him to old Legion are seriously missing the mark because old Legion chases were a completely 100% guaranteed down with little effort or brainpower, and with literally nothing the survivor could do to not get downed. Trickster is not this in the slightest.
He's not a well designed killer, but overpowered in a chase / boring and uncounterable he is most certainly not.
This describes the situation perfectly. He has strengths and weaknesses you can take advantage of but is no fun to go against. He is not even a strong killer to begin and the buffs just made the whole situation worse.
Rework Trickster

The same can be said about almost every killer in the game.
Which killer can destroy their own slowdown power? I'm not talking about Pinhead standing still to use it.
Trapper would be the only one and he does really bad already.
-
Rin got freaking slashed to death by her father after seeing her murdered mom. She did nothing wrong but got fatality
-
I don't get why Pinhead can destroy his own chains. Why is the killer punished for using his power? That's such a flawed design
-
I'd love to see an elegant killer. Basically like Trickster with less blood and visible insanity. Something like a killer queen would be awesome.
-
Borrowed time is a bit too powerful but the other 2 are decent. Maybe take a break from the game, playing killer can be exhausting.
-
Springtrap will be the next killer after Pinhead.
MARK MY WORDS.
FNAF.FNAF.FNAF.FNAF.FNAF

@DontNerf said:
Its dbd he will be compared to another killer now matter what the devs do.
He'll be fine as long as the main power isn't just a copy paste like Trickster and Nemeses were.

@TheMadCat said:
As counting how many people DC each time I'm against Trickster, I don't think he's bottom tier anymore.
As a Huntress main, I'm glad you give her love. Someone with insane aim can definitively do something pretty good with her.
They don't dc because Trickster is strong though. He is just annoying and really boring to go against. Like legion
-
He excels in loops with no LoS breaking objects and deadzones. High walls, big maps and Sprint burst destroy him. He needs some major reworks like Myers and Trapper because he really sucks atm.
-
Spam windows and hope he doesn't have Bamboozle . Try to force a m1 as much as possible and don't run into deadzones.
There really is not much "counterplay".
-
It is apparently really hard to balance the game around high lvl and low lol play. Playing killer in red ranks is a sweatfest and not enjoyable imo. Buffing killer might make playing survivor in lower ranks unbearable.
As long as the devs don't address this and keep adding killer with lacking powers there will always be that difference in experience.
-
It's funny how his zombies still have such a bad AI. You can make them run into a rock and get them stuck for the rest of the match.
-
You basically can't hit through pallets anymore. It will favor the survivor 90% of the time. Now can greed pallet even easier.
-
I've not seen a Ghostface for months. The last ones I faced were few weeks after his release date then he suddenly disappeared.

@Pilot said:
. Why is the survivor equivalent, the key,
Moris were NEVER the survivor equivalent. In terms of what they do then yes. but in terms of power? ABSOLUTELY NOT
Devs I hope you know a large portion of dedicated killer players feel like you really have no concern for what they have issues with, and the last 8 months speaks volumes to support this idea.
Did you not see the recent Franklin's Demise change for example & how keys work now or are you just ignorant? With all this drama, I thought I was at a theatre.
What do you expect? There are 4 survivors and 1 killer of course the items don't share the same power level. That would break the game. However considering the 4v1 it's pretty much the survivor equivalent of moris.
Franklin's is not a key counter. You can completely avoid it by predropping your key and the killer can not do anything about it. And no I don't consider camping a dropped key the whole game counterplay. + keys can be found I chests so have fun running franklins every game.
-
@sulaiman said:
Ok, how do the key make you win? If all 4 get out, they need to do 5 gens for the hatch to spawn, how is it a one-click-win?
And if only one gets out, and you have a 3k, how is it a win for survivor at all?
I actually dont understand what you are talking about. A key doesnt win you games for one click.
You can literally sit in the corner of the map, do nothing and escape with a key. You escaped and won. Maybe you were even able to get 1 or 2 mates out as well. The only thing a killer can do against it is bring Franklin and hope the key isn't predropped somewhere safe.
-
I love it when you hear the survivor scream and fall to the ground only to stand up again because the game said no. Laggy killer especially those Wraiths should be punished but being denied a hit on a good connection is disguSTANG.
-
He is as boring to play against as a camping bubba. I against dcing but I can understand why so many people rather avoid him completely. He isn't even strong but surely is VERY annoying.

Trickster main here, rank 1.
He is not the worst killer in the game, I usually have no issues while playing him, haven't lost since the buff against decent survivors.
"tHEn yOu plAY aGaiNsT bAD sUrViVorS" just don't say that because I will just say something like "or you just bad with trickster, which isn't a bad thing".
The only ways of winning as Trickster are really, bad survivor or proxy camping the whole game. Even with that playstyle he still sucks.
