  • If you reported them in game - please go to this link to provide a follow-up to your report: https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

  • The problem is boosted survivors. I don't need kindred to see a killer is standing in front of the hook. Kindred is a useful perk sure, but not NEEDED in solo - especially to know the killer is 2 feet from the hook. We are after all talking about FACE camping not proximity camping.

  • With the introduction of boon totems - here is what I think should happen.

Four boon totems per match - that equals to 1 per survivor (not that each survivor has to do one). In order for survivors to access the gate OR the hatch - all 4 boon totems must be cleansed. Boon totems should take 21 seconds to cleanse (50% more than a regular/hex totem). Boon totems will not decrease regular totem counts - so you will end up with 9 total totems per map. That being said; more unique and random spots need added to each map for totems. With 9 totems per map I think there should be a minimum of 36 spots on each map where any totem can spawn.

I do not think there needs to be a regular totem counter, BUT I do think just like generators - there needs to be a boon totem counter so once all 4 are cleansed other survivors are not trying to find boon totems. Boon totems should award 1k BP in Objective and Boldness category.

  • Modifying game files can result in a ban. If EAC flags your account for file modification - you will be banned. BHVR has stated in the past any bans for file modification are permanent and they cannot (will not) assist you in reversing the ban. This has been covered numerous times on the forums and is in the ToS.

  • SDE - plain and simple.

  • I wish for these tests they would revert everyone to rank 20 - people see rank and still associate with skill which is the exact opposite.

As killer I have had way more enjoyable games - no shut outs either way.

As a survivor I am having the same experience - gens getting done and 1-3 people escaping most matches.

We are right to be paranoid.

If the system goes through as it was advertised in the stream, the game dies.

BHVR is notorious for not following through on things, I sincerely hope that this is one of those things.

I mean if you wanna be paranoid - that's your choice. I on the other hand see no reason to assume things because let's be real - no information was given in the stream to justify the wild assumptions people are posting. Just more hyperbole on the forums.

    It's completely their fault.

The community is extremely worried with the info they have given us.

Never said it wasn't. It was an incredibly stupid idea to even announce it until it was completed and internally tested because the DBD community is about as paranoid as it gets. That being said - it does NO good to dwell on something we have no information about and that hasn't even been completed yet. All threads about this possible upcoming "feature" do is spread misinformation and hyperbole.

  • They are not going to give any clarity because the system isn't even finished being developed. Maybe wait until they have completed it, done internal testing, and actually give us any information before speculating or worrying about it.

  • No clue - I have never dodged a lobby. I don't really see the point. Assuming a SWF - uh ok? SWF with keys - uh ok?

I have lost to 4 solos who didn't take any items and beat a 4-man SWF with 4 keys - so I mean you never know. I actually like challenging matches - makes the win feel much better. I see other killers dodge because they don't want to face a certain survivor. I mean all this assuming and fear is funny to me, but hey if that's how you wanna play - so be it.

  • I don't do it as killer. I don't get mad though if a killer does it - not my playstyle, but to each their own.

  • Alert is a mainstay in my survivor build. I prefer it over Spine Chill and other aura perks.

  • DC penalty is working as intended. If you are having technical issues - seek guidance in the TECHNICALL ISSUES forums. Either way - purposeful/accidental - your DC is affecting 4 other players. I don't want to team with/against people who DC on purpose or who are having issues staying connected.

  • Probably the same reason people lie about not stream sniping....

  • With all the information available and after much contemplation: No.

  • Perks are what allow individual players to customize their game - both killer and survivor alike.

What's the next suggestion - disallowing certain perk combos??

The answer to the problem you perceive is not less perks, but actually more options (good perks) for both sides.

  • Meh doesn't bother me as a killer. Never done that as a survivor.

I don't get bothered by stuff like that - I see it as a challenge to do well. Some killers don't like SWFs, Keys, etc - but I personally like to be challenged and have matches be hard to "win."

  • I have never purposefully DC'd. I have no respect for people who DC on purpose.

I wish there was a system where people who get up to a certain time of bans - like 6 hours - would only be allowed to enter matches with other repeat DC offenders - and if they are in a SWF - they would still go to the "Offender" matches. If they don't purposefully DC for like 10 matches then they can re-enter normal matches. Go ruin other rage-quitters matches and let people who actually want to play the game - play without selfish players ruining a match.

  • You do realize a lot of other people will be bringing the RPD offering and with the increased chance + that map offering - you will basically just be wasting your map offering - right? I mainly play solo survivor and usually after a new map enters the game - multiple survivors end up bringing the map offering. Be interesting to see how long of a ban you get after a few days.

  • Uhhh ok

Solo survivors tend to not be as altruistic for starters. Without perks like Kindred being ran they have to guess whether someone is being saved. If I am 50% on a gen and it is your first hook - you can wait for me to finish the gen.

As for your chest scenario - never seen that happen.

Blaming the Tome is easy but flawed; as this is just normal survivor behavior.

  • Nope. I have end game chat disabled as it serves no purpose but to allow people with SDE to harass/degrade others. Not having to see the inane comments from people has made my DBD experience much better.

  • @konchok said:

The BP bonus hurts perk diversity in the game because the reward for using the perk is massive. It makes it so much easier to get the survivor pudding as well, so the BP bonus is more than 2 times regular. And I do feel that getting that much BP does hurt the overall balance of the game because it means killers can bring in pink and purple add-ins every game. Imagine if survivors were all running 4 BNPs every game, why is it fair for killer but that same scenerio is obviously broken for survivor.

Pssst - You do know survivors have We're Gonna Live Forever right?? WGLF is the exact same as BBQ in regards to increased bloodpoints - except (in my opinion) it is easier to get 4 stacks of WGLF than BBQ. You also know that survivors have more available bloodpoint offerings than killers... right???

Hmm. I wish I would have known before what the TTV meant. Twitch is a whole site, isn't it? So if I see people with TTV there's no way of knowing who exactly may or may not be uploading the match and thus, where to see it, right?

...You can tell I don't watch streamers.

Usually their game name is their twitch so like:

DBDKillerPro.TTV would be www.twitch.tv/DBDKillerPro (Not a real streamer that I know of...just something I made up LOL)

  • @CLAUDETTEINABUSH said:

When we talk about changes I think that killers feel entitled to demand changes, but generally I find that survivors are more entitled. But I admit that only I meet more entitled survivors since there are generally more survivor mains than survivor mains.

Neither, but topics like these are great at stoking the fire of divisiveness on these forums.

  • @miketheratguy said:

    Streamers. As I figured.

So if I see some can I assume that they're recording and broadcasting my match? It WOULD be kind of cool to see my game from someone else's perspective.

Most of us take TTV out of our names when we are not streaming - most not all :)

  • I always try to do at least 3 totems per round - but I won't be using Counterforce. I don't waste perk slots to help me find totems. I solo survivor approx 90-95% of my survivor games and either use a map or just keep an eye out for totems. The last time I had NOED activate was in March 2021 - I love totems - good/quick xp and can get those pesky Hexes out of the way. I don't think after a week or so after release that many people will bother with Counterforce. If people wanted to do totems - they would already be equipping Detective's Hunch or Small Game.

  • When I play survivor it is generally solo (Maybe 10% of time I team with 1-2 other people) - this is my standard build:

Kindred - good perk for the team.

Lithe - my preferred exhaustion perk.

Borrowed Time - speaks for itself.

Soul Guard - great for those end games where NOED comes into play and also if the killer decides to slug any other time a hex is active.

  • For fun - my go to is Doctor.

Nothing more fun that hitting survivors at just the right time with Doctor's Shock Therapy to deny a vault/pallet...and the survivor reactions hehe. Hearing survivors scream randomly for some reason makes me giggle.

  • I am not sure if that is WAI then. Maybe post this in the BUGS section for clarification on whether it is supposed to do that. I have never tried the two together so never knew it did that.

  • That's a lot of generalizations....

FYI I have streamed almost every game I have played in DBD (3300 hours). Of those 3300 hours almost 1600 are as survivor...and 90% of those matches were solo. And just like in your post - almost every match where 3-4 survivors escape - I am accused of being in a SWF. My favorite part is when the killer comes to my stream to say I only won etc because of SWF - they feel REAL stupid when they see I am solo.

I find your post on par with people who tend to play killer more/exclusively - full of generalizations. This isn't to say that many survivor "mains" don't do the same thing. Anyways: GLHF.

  • I have noticed in the evenings when I get my new Daily Reward - I get a connection error. It never happens in an actual match; always after a match. It's just a minor inconvenience.

I would suggest you head over to the TECHNICAL ISSUES (https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/technical-issues) section of the forum and definitely post there after these random disconnects (since they are happening in matches) and post whatever info they need to help with your issue.

  • Whenever someone rage quits I just laugh and think: SDE.

  • It's only a grind if you let it feel that way. If you have to have everything NOW - it will feel like a grind. The game is extremely playable with 1-2 character's perks as survivor and killer. If he doesn't want to pay to unlock Bubba - that isn't about not liking "the grind" - it's about not wanting to spend $5 on a game - completely different issue altogether.

My advice is to tell your friend to start now - that gives them a month to play and save up Iri shards - because starting July 1st there will be a new Shrine of Secrets every day for two weeks - with discounted perks (1500 iri instead of 2000). Then again if your friend just wants it all now and - and will continue to have that mindset - not sure this - or many games which have a "grind" is the game for them.

  • I don't have one. I would rather keep trying and get as much BP as possible.

  • Yeah because Almo and all the other Devs and Mods who have responded to all the other threads like this are lying to us.....

  • @Wiliam_Bill_Overbeck said:

And they wonder why play numbers are going down, if they would stop trying to count the people who would just join and collect their daily then dc.

I can't play because every 3-4 hours my router decides to stop working for 30 seconds, (Usually, 3-4, it can be longer or shorter, some days it does it more then others.) but the penalties are going to stack to the point I won't ever touch this game again unless they add like a basic "one free dc a day" or something. so I can atleast get ONE game in.

Since the DC bans were re-instated - February 11, 2020 - Player numbers have increased. This does not mean there is ANY correlation between the two, but rather just a simple fact. If you are going to state misinformation - be prepared for others to prove you wrong with factual information that is easily found on the web.

If you are having internet issues - and you know you are - then yes you deserve a timeout. Your inconsistent router/internet causes issues to 4 other players and is not fair to them.

thats not right. i had a 30 minutes penalty and now 6 hours. dont write trash if you dont know the answer :D

Maybe stop purposefully disconnecting or playing when you are having internet issues :)

  • @mrhan87 said:

I just got a 24 hour penalty for randomly disconnecting it needs to be fixed I agree the penalty should only be for the actual people who rage quit but even for the other people who got disconnected should only have like a set timer for disconnecting

If you are having THAT many "accidental" disconnects - that is DEFINITELY a YOU issue. And you should not be playing an online multiplayer game where the outcome of 4 other players is dependent on your internet connection that has obvious issues. Then again, I highly doubt your disconnects were accidental if you are getting a 24 hour ban :) If you are having technical issues that cause you to disconnect - reach out to the Technical Forums https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/technical-issues and file an actual report.

  • Never done it so have no idea why other killers do it.

As a survivor I just hang on as long as I can so my teammates can get gens done. It "only" happens to me like 1 out of 50/60 games. Last time it happened was at 4 gens and when I died they were at 1 - and soon thereafter the other 3 escaped. One of the other survivors came to my stream and thanked me for hanging in there to help them. I don't get angry over stuff like this - it's a game and life is too short to spend that much energy on people who do stuff like this.

  • I don't consider it a grind - maybe because I enjoy playing the game?

  • @The_Krapper said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2225311#Comment_2225311

Yea but what happens when a salty streamer or fog whisperer loses and has their followers go mass report someone? I guess that poor son a ######### is just banned for winning

Not how that works. You can't REPORT people except for the end game chat screen. Maybe stop guessing and being overly paranoid and hyperbolic. It's not a rating system. Common sense and a modicum of maturity seem to be missing more so than ever in the forums these days.

  • Please just read @Rizzo90 comment and stop guessing and continually being paranoid. Literally a Mod told you what will get you banned and what is not reportable/ban worthy.

Auto ban is a non-issue as it hasn't even been fully created yet - let alone internally tested. Stop freaking about what MIGHT come into the game when there is NO information about it.

    Shakes head.

I'm leaving this god awful game because, after 3 years of playing, killer is still not a power role and solo queue is like working with jellyfish in human bodies.

As an avid horror fan, I've poured hundreds of dollars, and thousands of hours into this game, and yet it has gotten so bad at rank one that I can't do anything but quit. I can't even stand to play during this anniversary.

How does toxicity fester here so abundantly? By the end of each session of playing killer at rank one, I just want to tear myself to shreds. It's hell. From the constant BMing, to rubbing it in my face that I need to "get good" at trickster, of all killers, I can't stand it. It was cool with all the friends I made but I cannot live with this game in my life, it hogs my mind and fills me with such stress whenever I play it.

Devs, please figure it out. Try and make this game fun for the new influx of players you expect so soon.

If you want to do that, listen to Otz or someone of knowledge and playtime. And play your own killers before you even think of PTBing them, actually play them.

3 years and this game has only really improved cosmetically. Good job to that team, though.
