It's always easy to see who does and does not play both roles on these forums. I started playing killer back in 2016 and after probably 100 hours I realized I should play survivor as well to help me understand killer better. Now I have around 1900 hours as killer and 1700 as survivor and playing both sides has helped me with both immensely. I always roll my eyes, laugh, or just shake my head when I see "mains" post on these forums. Killer mains think survivor is so easy and survivor mains think killers are unbalanced. If everyone played both sides these forums would actually be productive and not the same regurgitated hyperbolic threads over and over and over.

Uhm ok? Well then I won't share my opinion since you don't care what other people say.

As someone who plays survivor more than killer, make no mistake that I fully agree that decisive strike was far too powerful. The fact that you had the freedom to do whatever you wanted for 60 seconds was ridiculous because it punished even those killers that didn't tunnel.
Now I agree that decisive strike should be disabled if you're trying to repair generators, cleanse totems, unhook or heal others. But deactivating when trying to heal yourself? I think that's a tad much. I think it's great that DS finally works as a pure tunneling perk, but I think it should afford you the peace of mind to know that you can still heal yourself, especially considering that healing yourself is going to eat up almost half of the DS timer anyway.
To answer the thread title: Nope. As a 50/50 player - if you have time to heal then you are not really being tunneled. DS to me has always been about giving survivors a second chance who were being tunneled off the hook.
-
Not really - seems about the same for me. When I play solo I usually get 1-2 console teammates which hasn't changed. When I play killer it is usually 1-3 console survivors - and hasn't changed there either. Could just be RNG making it seem like less for you. When I play realllly late at night/early morning I have always noticed more PC users than console and usually my evening play is more console players.

If you don't agree with this post, then okay. If you somehow think BHVR is a perfect company then... okay. This is my opinion and I'm just here to share it. Agree with me or not, I don't care. I doubt anyone is actually gonna read this, but I just really need to get this off my chest.
This post will be somewhat survivor biased. I don't have enough experience with killer where I can confidently point out flaws. And no, that doesn't mean I think everything that's wrong with the game is only on the survivor side, I just simply don't have the experience or knowledge to point out the flaws of killer. I hope you understand where I'm coming from.
Anyway,
The sheer amount of incompetence coming off of BHVR is insane. They don't listen to the community (for the most part), they add whatever they want to this game because they think they know best, and they straight up lie about fixing problems or adding new features.
Yeah I get it, every game has bugs. But at this point it feels like bugs are a feature in this game. I have discovered more bugs in this game than the amount of observable stars in our galaxy.
And yeah, I'm a little pissed off. Let me tell you why.
For the past two months, I've had crossplay enabled, just because I didn't feel the need to turn it off. I was annoyed about getting rank 2 claudettes and rank 1 steves sitting in the corner while im dying on hook. So, what do I do as a logical person? I turn off crossplay. Problem solved, right? Well, yeah, but actually no. By turning crossplay off I just get rank 1 spirits and rank 1 nurses, thereby forcing me to run meta perks. What? The killer bitches to me post game about my perks? Okay, maybe I'll try running meme perks to ATTEMPT to have fun in this game. Well then, I just die on my first hook from getting tunneled or destroyed by a spirit once again. So, I am forced to turn crossplay back on just so I can have fun as a survivor.
And no, I'm not just gonna permanently run one survivor build all the time that's full of meta perks because that's incredibly unfun to play. The point of a game is to have fun, not sweat your balls off constantly. (Unless you like that, in that case, tf is wrong with you)
And yeah, I play killer too. It is incredibly annoying to go against SWFs, or people that only run meta perks. But to be fair, killers combat this by playing spirit and nurse, or face camping, or tunneling. And what do survivors do to combat this playstyle? Use meta perks that are seen as overpowered by killers. Its a constant game of cat and mouse and the devs aren't doing anything about it, and that's really sad.
Alright, so that's why this post will be so aggressive. Anyway, let's move on.
Prepare for a large amount of sarcasm in the following paragraphs.
BUG AND CONTENT "FIXES":
- Hey, remember server hit validation? Good thing it did basically nothing besides close the gap of BS hits by 2 nanometers. Also, it was "fixed" like 3 times I guess? Didn't notice a thing.
- Love how when I'm playing killer and get a grab animation that cancels :)
- Let's put our resources into "fixing" a bug that everyone enjoyed and gave 0 advantages to either side (cosmetic glitch)
- Let's ignore iridescent head for 3 years
- Let's change the flashlight angle 3 times just to change it back to how it originally was
NEW ADDITIONS/FEATURES:
- Let's make a new map where all the pallet loops are 2 centimeters long
- Let's make a new map that's almost as big as the biggest map in the game and make it two stories
- Let's make a new map that doesn't work for 3 weeks after launch even though its been on the PTB working perfectly fine
- Let's swap the accept and deny buttons on the party invite because THAT WAS A VERY NECESSARY CHANGE
- Let's add a new breakable object that ruins loops and wastes killer's time
- Let's add these breakable walls to old maps that were recently graphically updated. (You'd think they would at least put them in logical positions right?) NOPE
- Let's add a killer named The Doctor that disables the survivor's ability to do literally anything. (Seriously. Why can I not do anything when in madness? I literally lost countless games because I couldn't pick up a downed survivor or finish a heal)
- Let's make 90% of all survivor perks require a random ass condition to activate or give it an absurd cooldown. Better yet, make it so it reveals your aura when you finish healing.
- Let's add a new cosmetic feature called a "set" that forces players to pay more and not be able to swap it with other clothing pieces
- Oh by the way, it's your fault that you got tunneled or face camped as a survivor, you deserve to lose your pip.
- It's also your fault that your game crashed so say bye to 2 pips.
- Got gen rushed? Too bad. You should've just played better. Say bye to your pip too.
just an addition real quick, what the hell is up with prove thyself? I finished a gen in like 15 seconds with one other person working on it with me. That's absurd.
BUGS THAT ARE STILL IN THE GAME SOMEHOW:
- Getting hit through pallets
- Getting vacuumed while downed
- Killer grab animations getting cancelled
- Killers literally seeing blood effects on their screen just for the server to actually deny them of that hit
- Survivors with bad latency teleporting
- Console players still unable to play the game
- Survivor hitboxes
- Not being able to heal a survivor off the hook for a couple seconds
- Random invisible walls on the crane and dead dawg (there's probably more)
- Being able to fly onto loops as billy or blight on a hill
- Nurse not having animations when she blinks
- I'm gonna be honest, there's so many that I literally just can't think of one to put here because I've experienced so much. If you have one that's not on this list, put it in the comments.
I don't play killer that much, so there's probably countless more bugs on that end of the game.
I could go on for literal DAYS but I don't want to force you to read through all that.
I'm not even going to dive into how unbalanced this game is. I'll leave that to another post.
Not to mention, there's no incentive for BHVR to fix anything in this game because there's no competition.
I really, REALLY want to have fun in this game, but I just can't anymore.
The point of this post is to just beg the devs to just listen to the community. If not that, at least listen to content creators. I can't put up with this anymore. There are so many problems that could be fixed if they just LISTENED.
Treat this as my resignation because I can't have fun in this game anymore. If I can't have fun, then personally, there's no point into me playing it.
Your resignation?? ROFL.
Anyways GLHF.

Playing the game should not be cause for DC's and the fact that you are giving people who do it a pass tells me you have nothing to say that's worth hearing. Good day.
You may wanna learn to read... I have NEVER said DCing is a viable option. Actually I have said it is childish, pathetic, cheap, and nothing but a temper tantrum. I said "maybe you're the problem" because you keep going on and on how sooo many survivors DC when you play.... Never said it was ok they were DCing, but if soo many keep doing it to you - maybe it's something you are or are not doing.
I have NEVER purposefully DC'd and I think people who do - should be placed into a separate que and be forced to only play with others who purposefully DC.

You can say that all you like. Won't change the facts presented. Survivors outnumber Killers and I have more games with two to four disconnects than games without. Whereas when I play Survivor they are so rare i can count the total across my entire time playing on one hand.
Maybe you're the problem...just saying.

Well what do you want them to do? Stay in the match and suffer? You turn on dc penalties again and people will still just suicide on hook and killers can just go afk.
I just roll with it. I have had many killers decide after a DC or suicide on hook who chill out and farm - ending up with 28k+ points easily. As a killer if someone DCs or suicides on hook...I take it easy on the survivors because I don't think others should have to suffer from someone else's temper tantrum and poor sportsmanship.

Does it though? Is it really a big deal if you get a 3k or a 4k? The game would be much better if the killer didn’t slug for 10 minutes to get a 4k

-
Yeah I like the challenges and BP.
-
I get what you are saying, but why let this bother you?
If you can't be bothered to ignore end game chat - then that's your choice.
If you let a simple lame action bother you - that's your choice.
Seriously. not being a jerk, but ask yourself why you even bother reading chat, and why you let words and actions of complete strangers bother you.
I am not condoning the behavior in the slightest, but it's just random morons on the internet. Do they matter to you? Why do you value their opinion? Move on and tell yourself that they are idiots with no life and that their opinion or actions have no affect on you. Stop letting others live rent free in your head.
-
The "community" isn't. The forums do not reflect the community here any more than most game forums. Forums consist of a VERY small portion of a player base. They are more of a sounding board for those who are exceptionally in favor or against something. This is why you see so many "main" posters both killer and survivor on these forums and way less 50/50 players. Most posts are generated and fueled by mains who believe in using hyperbole and vitriol to back their opinion which they like to consider fact.
I think NOED is a trash perk, but it is in the game...so use it if you want. I have never used it as a killer because it feels cheap to me, but as a survivor I don't really worry about it much since I try to do totems as much as possible. Each side likes to grumble about perks though...so welcome to the forums... a never-ending cycle of the same topics over and over by a lot of the same people.
-
I don't find the players to be toxic because I have end game chat disabled.
I get the occasional toxic player who will come to my stream, but that is easily dealt with.
The brunt of toxicity is actually on the forums - which is why I wish there was an ignore/block feature here.
-
I just attribute it to SDE mainly.
-
Psst it was one month on July 15----2 days ago. Just saying.

Survivors dc more than killers do it's 4 survivors to 1 killer and the killer dc'ing doesn't really affect anyone that much because the game ends with survivors getting a free 5k bp
I never said they didn't and actually posted the numbers of survivor/killer DCs I have had this week. Just because it is less doesn't make it ok in the slightest. Anyone who purposefully DCs is throwing a temper tantrum in my opinion - whether killer or survivor. It's poor sportsmanship at it's finest. I find it funny though that most people who do it - try to blame someone else:
The killer was tunneling me
The survivors were gen rushing
Tired of killer/survivor sided map
They had NOED
They got my Hex totem in 5 seconds
blah blah blah

No, it actually is. Killer DC's haven't been crazy until recently; sure, you'd get a Killer who DC'ed while getting bullied every now and again, but now killers are done with the BS and will just drop for any reason. Survivors made that acceptable, remember? 'If i'm not having fun i'll just quit and I don't care about everyone else'.
This is the consequence. So stop with the disingenuous 'its both sides' crap. It's not. It's one side and we all know it.
Unlike you - I am not a "main" and am not as blatantly biased as you. I actually play both sides and post from an objective standpoint. I track every match I have played since 2017 :) This week I have had 27 survivor DCs and 11 killer DCs in my matches. FYI blaming anyone but the person who CHOOSES to DC is a common illogical fallacy - I can't make a killer DC anymore than a survivor can make me DC when I play killer - it's a choice - a decision. Blaming others/maps/ etc is just a way to try to absolve yourself of any personal responsibility for your decision making.

Hooks are definitely a design failure, but it's too late to do anything about them in DBD.
For DBD2 they should redo them. But who knows if we're even going to get a DBD2. As long as people are happily throwing money BHVR's way every time they release a new cosmetic DBD2 gets pushed over and over.
This game has a lot of massive design failures, but its too late to fix any of them. All we can hope is that BHVR will someday make DBD2 and remove all the bad design problems.
If people were not spending money on DBD - there would be absolutely no chance of a DBD2 - that is basic business - you don't create a sequel to something that is not profitable - especially in the gaming industry. Everyone talks about a DBD2, but without MAJOR revisions to graphics - which they are already doing in maps... and major game mechanic changes (what would those even look like) why exactly would they create a DBD2 at this point - seems a bit premature. My guess is that if there were going to be a DBD2 it would be at least another 3 years before it appeared - this would allow time for Unreal engine 5 (which fully launches in 2022) to work any kinks out etc.

1 Killer vs 4 survivors, Killer most search for the survivors, survivors start the game in front of generators. What is the point doing that?
Killer spend some precious seconds kicking a gen to 0% instantly regress and a waaaaaaay low regression while ANY of the FOUR survivors can just touch the gen and instantly it will stop regressing.
Killer spend alot of time to pick a survivor, carry him to the hook, taking care to not being blinded (and waste aaaaaaaaaall the time you spent doing the chase) and a survivor is recued almost instantly from the hook.
Totens are ridicously fragile and usually destroyed in a few seconds every match.
This game is so annoying unbalanced that I decided not to play it anymore.
You're kidding right? Killer is WAY more relaxing to me than survivor. As a survivor you have to worry about 3 other people messing up, getting gens done, doing totems, hook rescues, healing people...oh and being chased by a killer who is faster and has special abilities.
Maybe play survivor then if it is such an easy role to play :)

What killer do you not mind going against? Like you don't find them strong and just enjoy going against them, and on top of that which perks do you not find annoying or unbearable to go against either? A straight up chill killer with chill perks that don't scream try hard or op to you? I kind of want to do an experiment and see something
To be honest I don't really mind going against any killer except Spirit and Twins, but that has more to do with Spirit being hard to counter and a lot of Twins players generally just being super campy. My favorites to go against are Nurse, Doctor, Huntress, Deathslinger, and Demo.
Least favorite perk to go against: Devour Hope. Granted I do totems as much as I can (try to get at least 2 per match), but when that first insta-down happens and you see HEX:DEVOUR HOPE - it becomes an OH FUDGE moment where I know I need to find it ASAP.

I tend to ignore the Survivor screaming 'Chase me!' with their actions. It's clear they think they can lead me on a merry chase & waste my time, which is exactly what I DO NOT want to do.
It's funny to watch them run after me, clicking/twerking, until I turn and wollop them. Easier than a chase!
They remind me of gnats or flies - eventually ya just have to swat them to let them know they are bugging you. I just found it funny the OP thinks that people playing killer are sooo easily triggered that someone clicking their flashlight will MAKE the killer camp/tunnel. Let's be real - if a killer is gonna camp/tunnel they will look for any excuse to "justify" it. Not saying I have issues with people who camp and/or tunnel - it's your match - play how you want - definitely not my style as I prefer to get as high a score as possible which neither of those tactics work well in helping a killer achieve.
-
Flashlight clicking doesn't cause a killer to camp/tunnel - let's get that clear right away. If a killer is that easily triggered into camping/tunneling - more than likely even a flashlight save would "cause" this type of behavior. As a killer there is nothing you can do that will MAKE me tunnel or camp you - I just roll my eyes and continue with what I was doing. I will remember what you did and if it comes to me being generous in the end game and giving you hatch or not... well that's another story. Give killers a little credit - they aren't all easily triggered - and if they are - just about anything can set them off.
-
Do what you want to do - not my style, but I couldn't care less how you play.
I play 50/50 and come across plenty of tunneling killers - it usually doesn't work too well for them. Tunneling reduces gen pressure on the other survivors - so yeah go ahead and tunnel. I had a red rank killer Monday chase me for over 4 minutes... then he had the nerve to come to my stream and 1. Rant about me being in a SWF - which I wasn't and he quickly saw when he looked at my stream and 2. Called the other survivors gen rushers - which they weren't - he just wasted 4+ minutes chasing me.
FYI I love when killer mains say things like "Most survivors play bad" when they freely admit their experience playing survivor is limited to a few hours here and there - It takes more skill imo to try to coordinate with 3 random players and still try to get gens/totems/rescues/chases than it does to be killer. I truly wish more players actually played both sides - I think you would see a drastic reduction in the inane threads on these forums from both killers and survivors. FYI... I consider this an inane thread - which has been repeated over and over and over and is simply a way for people to circle jerk each other's play style.
-
@latinfla4 said:
Without whispers you are guaranteed to have playing hide and seek for 20 minutes while a key escape may occur?
How is this outdated mechanic still in the game?
5 years and 1800 hours played as killer and never had a 20 minute 3 gen happen. Not saying it CAN'T happen, but I am saying it's not a guarantee that it will without Whispers.
-
The problem with the game...and the forums - is you have so much main mentality. People who have generally only played one side or the other. The bias in their posts is laughable - from both sides. These forums read like a middle school with all the gross over exaggerations to try and prove their point. I used to try to actually present unbiased opinions/facts in the conversation and realized that I was wasting my time - you won't convince mains of anything but their own biased opinions - and then the forums are just a circle jerk of reinforcement from other mains.
I am praying for the day when they actually implement an ignore/block feature so I don't have to weed through the inane main comments/threads to find a sensible post.
So while I applaud your stance - you are simply wasting your time posting it as those who need to read it and actually think about it - won't.

Yeah except when I see every survivor using it and it literally being a free health state.
Hyperbole does not strengthen your argument. EVERY survivor doesn't use it. I don't track perks used by other players when I solo survivor, but it is probably way closer to 40-50% in red ranks that use it. As a killer I would rather survivors use DH (Which I like to call fail hard) because they make way more mistakes with that then they do with SB or Lithe. I just find it funny that so many "killer mains" have issues with DH. I have played over 1800 hours as killer and it is my fav exhaustion perk to go against (aside from smash hit...which let's be real almost no one uses).
-
+
Just saying....
-
Haven't really noticed any difference as killer. Most matches have been pretty smooth as killer - decent survivors who can run/loop, not a lot of "toxic" behavior (clicky clicky or tbagging). The first day of event I played survivor and faced quite a few crappy camp at 5 gen killers, BUT I played like 15 matches of survivor last night and the killers were way less tunnel/campy.
-
Just drop pallets and hold W - apparently most of the killer mains on these forums have no idea how to play against that tactic LOL.
Literally they get beat almost every time a survivor does that.

Yeah because every survivor starts running the second they hear a terror radius 32 meters away. I cannot roll my eyes enough at this math - because the premise it is based on is beyond flawed. If survivors ran when they heard a 32 meter terror radius they would never accomplish anything - especially on maps like Glenvale or the Game. I guess people will resort to anything to keep this meme alive. Anyways - I am off to have some fun for the weekend. I'm sure there will be more posts/threads about this horrible debilitating and overpowered tactic that forum killer mains and tournament killers face when I come back in a few days LOL.

watch how every single survivor team plays in a tournament lol, they almost never lose with these strategies
Tournament play ≠ Regular play
Never been an issue with me as a killer. Tournament survivors are also way more skilled than non-tourney survivors.
People will grasp at anything to try to solidify this meme. My favorite is killers who claim "survivors run as soon as they hear my 28/32 meter TR" - if that were case they would never be doing gens LOL! Then they do the math to show you just how powerful it is when survivors run when you are 32 meters away LOL! Like seriously GTFO - what rank are you playing 21?

Sure, let's discuss these killers:
Nurse/Blight/Spirit - Read my OP, those are the ones that can compete against this.
Wraith - Tru3 vs oracle proved wraith can't hang.
Hag - She is still a 110 and requires setup, she can sometimes get a good 3 gen going but that's about it.
Hillbilly - He still has to m1 around loops. I'll give you that he does counter this strategy a little bit since he can break pallets fast, but he still is effectively m1 around loops, so he does require some slightly more amount of brain cells to play against.
Freddy - Is an m1 killer when you aren't asleep, and the counter to his power is, you guessed it, hold m1 and immediately drop pallets. It's difficult to win chases against him due to snares and he probably needs a redesign to fix this problem.
Oni - Is literally an m1 killer, his counter is to play exactly like this, if you play like this and never get hit, he never gets his power.
Legion - Legion's "mobility" is so good, that if you hold w when you hear the terror radius, they still can't catch up to you even with their power. Legion ms in frenzy is 5.0 m/s and lasts 10 seconds. If a survivor starts running at 25 meters into the terror radius, legion gets to get 10 meters on them (survivors move at 4 m/s) which means he is still 15 meters away, oh wait now he gets a cooldown period of 5 seconds, so they just gained back 8 or so meters.
Huntress - You would be correct if every map was just a flat plane with nothing in them, which is not the case, being a 110% killer means holding w is even stronger against her. And you don't want to loop her, it's risky, she might hit you, so the best play is to immediately drop pallets, hold w and put stuff between you and her.
Deathslinger - Same as huntress but even worse because hes only got 1 shot.
Executioner - And has literally 0 map pressure. The whole point of his power is to bait you into vaulting or dropping the pallet and then when you do he m2s, if you don't, he keeps going. Best strategy is to not even try looping, just hold w, and immediately drop pallets.
Trickster - really? Hes just a worst version of deathslinger and huntress who has to land no less than 8 ranged attacks on you, all while moving slower than a survivor while throwing. Hold w is literally his counter.
Demogorgon - they already nerfed that addon, again, with shred, you don't want to risk looping him because he might bait it or cancel the power. Just throw down the pallet immediately and keep running.
Nemesis - Same as PH, but slightly worse because he has to hit you 3 times.
Plague - Which also requires that survivors cleanse in order to get her power. Outside of that she gets one 60 second use of it. So you just hide for 60 seconds, and now she is an m1 killer for the rest of the game, no power, and you can immediately drop every pallet and hold w. Additionally, her purge doesn't have as much range as you think it does.
Clown - Same as freddy, his power is literally just a slightly better (but no teleports) version of freddys power. You don't loop clowns, you hold w and drop pallets.
Doctor - Again, his power is at the "LOOP" why risk looping, just drop the pallet immediately and hold w and now he can't do anything.
Twins - The amount of shadow nerfs and strange things about this killer make it extremely difficult. But i'll contend that you can't hold w against victor, you can against charlotte though.
Ghostface - He is an m1 killer with no terror radius, the definition of hold w drop pallets.
Bubba - Same deal, just drop pallets and hold w, he has no map pressure and can't move around like billy can. I will add that additionally there is a bit of skill involved in potentially trying to stun him with the pallet, although this is risky. Instead of the usual 1 pallet, he gets to eat through 2-3 before he loses 3 gens. Better, but given that most maps have 12+ pallets, not gonna change much.
Pig - Her traps aren't really part of this, and her dash requires her to charge it and be at a loop. Again, the definition of hold w and drop pallet immediately. Her power is anti-loop and slowdown when you get traps on their head, but she still requires you to land that first down.
You are underestimating the power of hold w. If a survivor hold w, doesn't drop pallets, doesn't vault windows, doesn't do anything but run in a straight line, it takes the killer 48 seconds to down them. factor in picking them up, finding a hook, and hooking them, and you probably just spend 60-70 seconds doing this. You just lost 3 gens from the other 3 survivors on the gens.
Well I hate to say it - but learn to play the killer - get better map awareness - learn predictive behavior - because that's why you are losing. If you don't like being challenged and want an easy win and bloodpoints - play survivor if it is so easy. This "issue" is not an issue and has not been an issue until recently when one moron coined the "Holding W" phrase.
I refuse to play Wraith any more and he was my 2nd main because... he is stupidly easy even against a 4 man SWF.
I play Doctor, Huntress, and Pig and have NO issues getting 2-4ks. The only time I am not red rank is on the 13th of each month.
Funny how all these red rank killers make it sound like they are getting 0ks due to survivors holding W - yet maintain their red rank - something don't seem right. You will not convince me that this is a problem to any degree - aside from maybe on Trapper who in my opinion needs a major rework/buff.
And no I am not a survivor sided person - I am a factual person. Survivor mains just like killer mains on these forums love to exaggerate things to the nth degree to try and gain favor for their hyperbolic opinions. As far as this stupid meme/complaint goes - that's all it is - exaggeration and anecdotal "evidence."
I'm not going to "argue" this - especially on these forums - because there is no factual basis for this aside from a few selective matches that a few "popular" streamers have provided as "evidence." Meanwhile you have other streamers who have 50+ win streaks on almost every killer - who face the exact same survivors as everyone else - I guess their survivors don't have W keys.
Have fun arguing a meme - I am out :)

Matches wouldnt last 30 minutes. You forget this is a 1v4 not a 1v1. The other 3 survivors are slamming gens.
Oh no - according to the most vocal people in these inane threads - when you get within 30 meters of them survivors sun - the maps are only so big... so that's a lot of survivors running scared all the time. Seriously - I have played way more killer than a lot of people in these convos.. not buying the BS excuse/meme of "Holding W."
-
LOL - People keep saying - survivors run when they hear their terror radius or at 30 meters. Give me a break. If that were the case - matches would take 30 minutes because survivors would be running all willy nilly and not doing gens.
I play Doctor 80% of my killer matches and have played killer around 1800 hours - you may be able to fool some survivor mains with this type of BS but I am calling it exactly what it is.. BS. At red ranks especially... survivors stay on gens to the last possible second and MAYBE .. MAYBE leave when the killer is 16-18 meters away - so let's get that clear from the start. I see the number "30 meters" thrown around a lot in this inane "discussion" and it's absolutely inflated to make the math look more appealing for the argument and is absolute fiction.
Let's also discuss modifiers to a chase:
Advanced mobility: Wraith, Hag, Nurse, Blight, Hillbilly, Freddy, Spirit, Oni, Legion
Ranged attacks: Huntress, Deathslinger, Executioner, Trickster, Demogorgon, Nemesis, Plague
Special Attacks: Clown, Doctor, Twins, Ghostface, Bubba, Pig
So that leaves us with the following killers who will have a harder time with this meme of Holding W: Trapper - who if he has good map awareness and good trap placement... can stop a chase almost instantly.
Quit trying to come up with "issues" that need addressed and instead focus on the strengths of each killer. Seriously... holding W? LOL!
This whole argument is even sillier than survivors complaining about NOED - you look silly as hell trying to convince others that "poor killers are being abused because survivors are running and throwing pallets." Absolute face palm. Of all the things to take issue with...you choose this? LOL! Please go back to complaining about gen rushing - at least there is SOME merit in that discussion.
-
I have played red rank killer for 4+ years and this is not an issue with me. FYI I main Doctor and also play Huntress and Pig a lot.
I also don't need a 4k to "win." My wins are based off points/pips/safety pips.
If you are chasing a single survivor over 50-60 seconds - you are falling for their bait. Also let's not pretend every match is a SWF...or even a really good SWF. I am constantly looking for other survivors while I am in chase - so when I have been chasing them too long I know exactly where to go. Killer isn't easy and requires a lot of map awareness, time management, and split second decision making.
My advice to people who say they have trouble catching and downing is to record your matches - and watch the ones you did well and the ones you did not do so well in and see what the difference is, what you did well, what mistakes you did, look for the loops, etc.
As a survivor I love when a killer chases me for 50-60 seconds - that tells me they are going to lose gens. It also tells me I am in control of where we will be going and I will do whatever I can to take them away from the other survivors (I play 95% solo so there is no coordination via comms).
This whole "Holding W" thing is a meme at this point - Survivors have been holding W since the game released. At this point it is literally something that makes me laugh when I see it on the forums. It is not a problem - it is a very simple game mechanic that some killer main came up with as an excuse for losing a match and it was embraced mainly by the killer main community as an excuse/issue. Survivors did not suddenly start pre-dropping and holding W - and if you want to claim that you are just fooling yourself as there are thousands of videos from 2016-2020 showing differently - with some winning, but most losing.

I spent the 500k yesterday that we got on my P3 Feng and got 11 cakes.
Every web had at least one cake except one web. I did have a few that had 2 cakes.
My P3 Feng though has every perk there is so that may be why she got more cakes - since there are no perks to take any spots on my webs.

I've gone past burnout and entered apathy. There's nothing interesting or fun about the game to me anymore. The last few chapters have only made the game worse overall and this "event" just drove home that same lack of quality. Why would I spend several minutes holding down M1, or running around in circles, when I could be doing literally anything else?
I got Sea of Thieves recently and it's been such a breath of fresh air to sail the high seas, as opposed to wading through bugs on top of grind on top of more bugs.
Anyone else feeling the same?
Nope. I play DBD 4-5 days a week and play other games as well. If I only played one game every day or even just one game every day I gamed - I would burn out quickly no matter what game it was. I have been playing DBD since about 2 months after launch and still enjoy it each day I play (Enjoy the game...not necessarily every match).

I mean after the halloween events that sucked, and the christmas one that also sucked. Dbd did it. They actually improved the events as they promised.
What did they do here’s the patch notes:
(no this isn’t the actual patch notes but it feels like it should be :) )
”Considerably increases the chances of the game crashing”
”Removed Console players from the game”
”Fixed a bug of survivors getting cakes”
”Added glowy tool box”
”Crown costmetics that no one ever uses requires 100 escapes as the character”
Oh look - this again. Not sure who ORIGINALLY posted this, but for those who simply copy/paste - please add something original to the post.

After countless bad updates, I was hoping this event would hard carry them. Sadly this event is just another bad update waiting to be fixed.
I played one game with Adam and escaped with the crown and didn't get it. Countless error messages while in the bloodweb and low event cake drop rates.
Yall better fix this event, GET OFF YOUR LAZY BUTTS AND FIX THIS EVENT!
btw anybody trying to play some r6 later?
Hmmm - I did 10 bloodwebs and got 9 cakes, a few event medkits, toolboxes, and flashlights. I haven't played yet so cannot comment on that - although I know a few people who have posted pics of their characters with new crowns. sorry :( Make sure to post in BUGS section for crown issue.

To not screw over survivors it shouldn't reward killers for playing poorly. Like how DH screws over killers when survivors play poorly. Both are second chance perks.
Getting hit by the killer is not playing poorly. Not sure where this concept ever started. Survivors can run a killer for quite some time before getting hit - getting hit does not mean you played poorly.
Not healing yourself is not playing poorly - especially if there is only one or two gens to complete.
Running to a hook to save someone from dying while you are injured is not playing poorly - it is a risk reward decision a survivor has to make.
Stop saying injured survivors are playing poorly. That's like saying if a killer EVER misses an attack they played poorly.
If every survivor played "good" according to people who say DH is a reward for playing poorly - then you would get ZERO kills because you would never injure anyone. That's just nonsensical.
I personally never run DH because I think it is one of the worst exhaustion perks in game. I have way more success running Lithe or Sprint Burst than I do DH. As a killer I LOVE when survivors have DH - way easier to counter that than an attentive survivor with SB/Lithe.
This is the last comment I am ever making on any threads which discuss either of these perks - since every thing that can be said - has been said ad nauseum. Neither perk should change imo - they are both crappy perks to use and waste a perk slot for a perk that can help a player out way more.

Where did I say it was fine? Thanks for a suggestion out of no where in a post where I criticize both perks and list the reasons the change should happen. And Dead Hard can extend chases so much longer on so many maps with such strong loops like Badham or Asylum
Did I @ or quote you? No???? OK then.
My post was commenting on those who make the usual inane comments when either DH or NOED comes up.
Neither perk needs changed IMO. They both have pros and cons. Killer mains want DH gone... Survivor mains want NOED gone. This discussion has been ongoing for years. Neither side looks objectively at the other and offers the same tired replies over and over. Just mains being mains on these forums...as usual. Again...for emphasis - I think both perks are fine and - I use neither of them. I would rather have a perk like Thanatophobia on killer and Lithe or Sprint Burst on survivor.
-
So you think survivors should waste a MINIMUM of 90 seconds doing totems, but get mad because Dead Hard adds 10-15 seconds in a chase IF the survivor is already injured?
This of course doesn't include any time to FIND the totems - to which you say: Use 25% of your perk slots to help you find totems?
As a killer I would MUCH rather someone have DH than Sprint Burst or Lithe - both of which will give a survivor much more distance than DH and can easily help them not get hit in the first place.
I don't have a problem with NOED as a survivor, but never run it on my killers because I honestly think it is a waste - I would rather take perks that help me get kills before EGC.

Yet you responded. Pot meet kettle.
I never said I was wasting my time - so your comment makes no sense. I never said anything except to point out that the OP didn't like "wasting their time" and yet posted a message they were leaving to complete strangers - which seems like a waste of time. Not sure what part of that you don't understand or how you would even remotely think "pot meet kettle" is applicable. Nice try???

All experiences I have with TTV have never been positive, that’s not the same as saying all TTV suck. I’m sure there’s some good ones out there, that are less angry than you
I'm not angry - I just think you need to learn to better communicate your thoughts. I know what my experience is with streamers and non-streamers in this game and is vastly different than yours. Anyways - glhf.
