Stochastic differential equation? Self-directed education? Spectral density estimation? Sebacoyl dinalbuphine ester?
Just google "SDE Urban Dictionary" - that is your answer.

Meh - Just like when a survivor purposefully DCs - the only thought that that enters my head is: SDE.

If you mean wait at a pallet a few seconds - generally if I am doing that I am trying to get rid of my exhaustion.
If you mean people standing at a pallet for 10-15-20 seconds - no clue.

This would be a reasonable expectation if Sacraficial Wards weren't the same rarity as map offerings, the odds of actually getting one are 23 to 1 for survivor and 21 to 1 for killer.
If certain maps bother someone sooo much - they have just as many map offerings appear in their web as others - use them. Instead of complaining that you get sent to X Y Z maps - use those offerings in your inventory. Everyone has the ability to affect where the match happens, but people would rather make hyperbolic claims on the forums instead of actually doing anything in game about it.

Mhnn... how about instead of retiring map offerings, add in 'anti-map' offerings like burn them if you don't wanna go to X to have it lower the chances
Pssst it's called: Sacrificial Ward.

Seriously, we have a ton of maps in the game but the only offering that get used are Haddonfield, Coldwind, & Ormond. It gets boring and repetitive. It's time to retire these offerings and free up some space in the bloodweb.
Blatantly false. When you use words like "only" or "all" you lose me - because you are being hyperbolic.
I see a lot of Midwich and Hawkin's offerings being used - more than Coldwind and Ormond especially.
You have the ability to bring other map offerings or even negate map offerings so I am not sure what your complaint is truly about.

HEY so was i, when i played killers i never used :D
Not hard to fabricate.
It amazes me how people don't understand SBMM at all. Of course if you never played a killer you are going to face - new survivors who have never faced that killer or who did and did poorly. It is LITERALLY what killers have been asking for for YEARS - to not play a new killer and face survivors at your current main killer rank. Shakes head.

Yep, not Ruin/Undying/Tinkerer, not Stridor-Spirit, Lightborn. I got a lobby of 4 flashlights and as I hate dealing with more than one at a time, I brought Lightborn, Starstruck, Infectious Fright, Agitation.
They were stubbornly trying to blind me again and again, didn't take a hint that they were exposed, and the game didn't go too well for them, they died.
After the match, one of them was very salty because of it, said that Lightborn is such a dumb perk and I can't play because I chose to run it. Obviously I broke some unknown rule that survivors are entitled to have their flashlight fun if they so choose.
Ok...and? Are we supposed to congratulate you? Console you? Not sure what you are looking for by posting this story. End game chat is inane - always has been. I would tell you that if you didn't want to see these type of comments to disable end game chat, but I think you like the attention you get from them so.... cool.

Against most killers you don't even need to be good at looping. Just start running away from the killer and hold W when they come towards you from 40 meters away.
If survivors did this (which is a hyperbolic claim by a lot of killer mains) - NO gens would ever get done because survivors would just be running all the time. Not sure what rank you are playing at, but at red ranks - survivors do not do this - we rely more on our looping - we don't run the second we hear the killer. Eyeroll.
Regarding the OP - This is not a mutually exclusive act - Both survivors and killers (mainly mains) complain about one another, perks, and maps. Open your eyes - they are all over these forums.
-
It depends on the killer actually imo.
I main Doctor and Pig. So I tended to use Whispers. With Doctor it let me know when someone was is in my terror radius so I didn't waste Static Blast. With Pig it let me know that I need to crouch and go stealthy to get that surprise attack.
If I play my other main killer: Huntress - I actually think Spies is a better choice as it let's me know where to look for possible snipes.
With that being said: I do not run either perk any more as I find better utility from other perks.

I generally find that those who didn't enjoy the last SBMM test also were those who complain about one side being OP constantly on the forums (ie. Boosted players/mains on both sides).
The last SBMM:
Matches lasted longer.
I didn't have one blowout match as killer or survivor. (Not one match did a killer get a 0k and not one match were all 4 survivors killed before 2 gens were completed). *There were two killer matches where the killer was AFK - I did not include these in the results stats because I also do not put those in my normal statistics.
Scores were up nearly 25% overall in the matches I played for survivors - killers were only up around 7% BUT they were also already high to begin with.
There was almost no increase in wait times for either role when I played.
Disconnects were down slightly from the previous week.
The problem with the SBMM test relative to the forums were the idiots who didn't understand that rank was irrelevant during the test. People complained about facing red rank killers in green ranks and being paired with people of various ranks... I just facepalmed at most of the negative feedback as it was largely "supported" by citing ranks. Stares. Thankfully with something like SBMM the data will speak for itself instead of the biased forum mains who were mad they didn't get to continue to play their boosted survivor/killers.
I hope we see SBMM by the end of 2021 or by the beginning of 2022.

More options - not less.

I love survivors who run self-care... as a killer.

No thanks. The majority of the time in games with auto-comms I just end up muting the other players due to their juvenile/racist/homophobic/squeaking. BHVR can't properly implement end game chat and apparently has no clue how to even use a block/ignore feature on the forums - so I would be weary of their attempt at a in-game comm system.

@killerpiller said:
Like if they did there would not be so many facecampping bubbas and just facecamppers generally? Every 3-4th game i get these facecamppers.... And 99% of the time if its bubba its gonna be facecamping killer.
Yes reporting does something. Maybe try holding off the complaining about inaction...for things which are not reportable.
I personally know of a few people who were banned for racist and homophobic comments (back when I actually had end game chat open).
How do I know? Because these people came to my Twitch channel after our EGC encounter and saw that I was reporting them - they of course returned later when they were banned and shared that information complete with threats of violence.
-
It's called main bias. Unfortunately a large majority of the forum posters are "mains" of either survivor or killer. Due to their limited exposure to both roles their viewpoints tend to be biased, hyperbolic, and full of inaccuracies. Whenever I see a post that says something like:
"Survivors"
"All Survivors"
"Killers"
"All Killers"
"Why do all...survivor/killers"
... I just roll my eyes and know that we are in for yet another vomit inducing circle jerk thread where one side vigorously strokes the ego of one another.
A lot of the forum posts are simply people whining about their loss and trying to blame others instead of taking any responsibility for their own game play. They like to blame perks, maps, and let's not forget the big ol' boogeyman that is SWF. If these forums had an actual ignore/block function it would make browsing them so much more enjoyable and maybe allow for actual conversations on topics without all the BS and main bias.
-
I had no clue who Springtrap was - I have never played FNaF. I did watch a few streams on it for a little bit.
As for bringing Springtrap to DBD - Meh. If that were a DLC for DBD - it would be the first one I do not own. I would simply buy the survivor and not the DLC as it does not look like a killer I would want to even try. I honestly don't think that the next chapter will be a licensed character - call it a hunch.
I would rather see an old school "monster" such as a Werewolf, Dracula, or Frankenstein. If I had my wish for a licensed character it would be either Pinhead or a Xenomorph.
-
I already have every perk for survivor and killer so bloodpoints are a non-issue.
I'll save them for the rare occasion I play with friends or when the next killer/survivor comes out.
-

If you play solo survivor with SWF , they're selfish and only care about themselves ; if you play against them as killer - we already know how it is .
Since you guys are ''so cool'' and have stranger- i mean friends around the world to play with , why is it so hard to find a 5rh person and start a custom game. you guys are popular right ?
I rarely play with others when I play survivor. I have played approx 1700 hours as survivor and 1800 as killer and no.. I don't think SWFs ruin anything. I like going against SWFs as a killer because it feels more challenging/rewarding. As a mainly solo survivor I don't mind SWFs of 2-3 people because their communication with one another actually benefits the entire team. Not sure what ranks you are playing with, but in red ranks I have no issues soloing survivor.

This perk literally is on EVERY survivor now. its broken they dont breath when injured either which is also bs. How can someone hold their breath and run!!!! lol keep it up devs
No it's LITERALLY not on every survivor. Hyperbole doesn't reinforce your position it actually undermines it.
I have played just over 3500 hours in DBD - around 1700 of that as survivor and have ran Iron Will MAYBE 5 times. BHVR just released the top 3 perks ran by survivors and Iron Will isn't even in the top 3. F
acts matter.

@Jasix I don't avoid tunneling because I care what survivors think, I avoid tunneling because I don't want to proc 2 anti-tunneling perks and shoot myself in the foot.
You're the one who said you get called a tunneler in EGC - if it doesn't matter then not even sure why you brought it up.
As a 50/50 player I don't have issues with BT as a killer in the slightest. I rarely hit the unhooked person because I make sure to position myself so I can avoid doing that. I take advantage of killers who don't do this when I play survivor so that they waste their hit on me if I am being unhooked.
-
@Corns_Flake said:
Don't know if this should belong in feedback or not but here goes
As a general rule of thumb I always pursue the unhooker to avoid tunneling and play around perks like BT and DS. However, every so often I bump into survivors who would rather force an unhook with BT than wait until the coast is clear.
It can be quite frustrating trying to completely ignore the unhooked person so I'm not punished for tunneling only to end up being halted by the unhooked survivor in a doorway or in the open. I'll wait the 12 seconds, down them, be forced to wait another 48 if I want a hook at all and then get called a tunneler in the post game... with a 3 instead of an e.
Regardless, I feel that much akin to old DS borrowed time is balanced if survivors are trying to use it for the intended purpose. It's there to protect the un-hooked player to prevent them from being tunneled if the killer's nearby or camping. That's why I think BT body blocking should be changed. Being forced to tunnel and then punished for waiting it out via ds isn't exactly fun. (keep in mind I think current ds is fine)
How could this be changed? Unhooked players lose all collision with the killer for 12 seconds while the endurance from Borrowed time is active. This means unhooked players can't sit in doorways or throw themselves at the killer to buy their teammates time and distance for risky saves. Furthermore, losing collision with the killer means that unhooked survivors are now unrestricted by killer body blocking, so if you're unhooked in basement and the killer tries to body block you for 12 seconds on the stairs to guarantee the down you can just walk right through them and to a loop.
Borrowed time would still fit it's old role of protecting the unhooked but not let survivors force a killer to tunnel. Thoughts towards this proposed change is appreciated :)
tldr: You lose collision with the killer while borrowed is active
Your issue isn't BT - it's caring what complete strangers in an online game think of your gameplay.

because some games I go against red Rank survivors that play the game normally and sometimes I go against try hard sweats that play the game PERFECTLY. We are human so it's impossible to play it perfect. seriously every mind game I do fails and they are on PC so it should be obvious as to why they did so well. Stretch resolution is the only answer. and it's not every game like I said. Only some games. It's very frustrating to go against these types of players. Full tryhard and full sweat taking advantage of stretch resolution and they are playing as a SWF. just imagine
If that's what you have to tell yourself to make a loss feel better - you do you :)
-
If you are that frustrated - just afk and go watch a youtube video or two that make ya less frustrated.
-
I have no issues with them as they take up the offering spot - so the survivor/killer can't bring a map offering and something else. I rarely use map offerings - usually it's if I have been getting a certain map a lot - I will choose something completely different. Granted I rarely SWF, but when I do - we have never brought a map offering - usually it's Luck or Chest offerings we bring.
-
Lemme tell you about a friend of mine. They have played since launch and have never been red rank as a survivor - they hold steady at 6-8. Are they bad? Absolutely not. Red rank doesn't mean you are good. This person isn't red rank because they truly believe that survivors should be a team (and they generally play solo or with one other person). They sacrifice themselves a lot in end game so others have a better chance of escaping. They will sacrifice themselves if someone is close to death on hook. They are very altruistic. If they would stop doing these things they would easily be red rank - and I commend them for that. By looking at your perks - you also look like an altruistic survivor which is great for your teammates but can hold you back rank wise. So you have to ask yourself - do you want to alter your playstyle just to get to red ranks - or does saving your teammates and giving them more of a chance make you feel better?
Rank truly is meaningless when you think about it; and will become even more irrelevant whenever SBMM goes live. Instead of focusing on the color of your rank - focus on having fun - because to me that is what is important when playing a game - having fun each match.

''once Skill Based Match Making goes live''
🤣
I don't run meta builds as survivor or killer and have been red rank over 4 years. I frequently run both with no perks/items/addons.
I find the challenge of red rank fun - way less camping/tunneling killers and less "toxic" survivors.
I track every match and can say with 100% confidence that my matches are composed of way more variety of killers than what you stated. Spirit and Blight are seen way less than most killers for me. My top 5 killers I have faced for the past 3 months: Nemesis, Bubba, Wraith, Nurse, and Pig.
So instead of attacking your exaggerations since it was your first post - I stated a fact. Once SBMM is active - rank will be irrelevant. I never said that would happen next month or even this year - but when it does - rank will be irrelevant.
-
Man I really hate the term genrush. As a 50/50 killer/survivor I think this is the stupidest term in the game. I understand as killer that survivors want to do gens and gtfo. If they get 2-3 gens before I get a hook - that is on me. Anyways - off to the original question.
As a survivor I just play the game. I don't teabag or clicky clicky flashlights. If the exit gate is open I don't stand around waiting for the killer. I don't do these things to make the killer have a fun game (that's not my job as a survivor) - I don't do them because I find them to be childish and antagonizing. I am an adult and these actions are more akin to grade school antics. As a killer when survivors do these things I just attribute that to their SDE and immaturity.
-
End game chat in a lot of online games is full of salt and discriminatory comments. I have end game chat disabled - not because it bothers me, but rather because I stream and got tired of advertising other people's racist and homophobic comments. No clue why others let comments form complete strangers bother them - stop letting random people live in your head rent free. When these people actually come to my stream and spout their bigotry and stupidity I just attribute it to SDE.
-
There are good games and bad game - majority of my games have been good. I don't get triggered by what others call toxic behavior though (camping, tunneling, teabagging, clicking, etc). I don't need a 4k as killer or to escape as survivor to have a good game. The fun for me is the challenge - which is why most games I consider "unfun" are afk killers, farming, and survivors who DC/kill themselves on hook.
-
Uhhh ok. Well lucky for you - rank will not matter at all in matchmaking once Skill Based Match Making goes live. Everyone will reset to rank 20 every month and rank will not matter at all - only your "skill" will be used when it comes to matchmaking.
I would play red rank ANY day rather than green or purple - when I watch people play in those ranks the amount of camping/tunneling is stupidly ridiculous.
-
As killer I haven't noticed any difference. As survivor I have noticed a lot of the hits that shouldn't have hit - don't now. Since the patch I have had maybe 2-3 hits which I go: Hmmm ok then I guess I was hit. I said it in another thread and I will repeat it here: Pallets now are in the best state they have been in a long time.
-
Nah - I think keys should be single use - only the survivor who holds the key can use it. Keep the same requirements for when it spawns etc.
-
My fun as a killer isn't predicated on how many kills I get. I don't need a 3k or 4k to have fun in a match as killer. I like being challenged as a killer - mowing over survivors and getting a 4k is not fun to me in the slightest. I enjoy survivors who can loop and mind game because my enjoyment comes from knowing that even though the match was hard - I earned my score/kills. I am the same way as survivor - I don't need to escape to have fun - I want to be chased, I want to help teammates, and I wanna do gens all while being pressured by the killer - that is fun to me.
-
I loathe this map as a survivor, but don't mind it as a killer (Doctor and Pig main). Maybe my survivor experience will get better once more survivors become familiar with the map, but right now they seem to just run around confused a lot.
-

Seriously, when there were no indoor maps, it was fun and refreshing to get 1-2 indoor maps, but now we have too many already and you are pumping them out like crazy. They are boring as ######### for most players, killers and survivors. I made a poll in the poll subforum and only 25% like indoor maps.
I only play 2-3 games a day and when I get 2 indoor maps in a row I sometimes DC and I NEVER DC for any other reason.
Please don't make any new indoor maps for a while.
I played/streamed 9 hours yesterday - I had one indoor map. It's called RNG. I prefer Lery's & Midwich over Coldwind, Haddonfield, & MacMillan.
-
I think killer is way less stressful. I do what I need to do and don't have to worry about other players. I mainly solo as survivor and find potato survivors to be so stressful. As for the "emotional" stress - uhhh teabagging etc don't bother me in the slightest - I just view it as a stupid move - just gives me more of a chance of getting them. I couldn't care less about "toxic" behavior from complete strangers on the internet.

What in your opinion is tunneling and when is tunneling okay to you and when it isn't?
I've seen survivors unhook somebody right in front of the killer and the killer downs them again then chases after the unhooker and the person downed says the killer is tunneling, to me that's not tunneling but I just want to see other people's definition of tunneling
Tunneling is when the killer ignores the people unhooking - downs and hooks the rescued survivor all while ignoring any other survivors in their sight.
I don't tunnel - feels scummy to me and I don't need it to get a 3/4k.
With that being said - some people think they need to tunnel or enjoy ruining the match for others - which is their prerogative.
I am VERY RARELY actually tunneled in the game - when I am - I just hang in as long as possible through looping/struggling to allow my teammates more gen time. I do laugh when the match ends and the killer only gets 1-2 kills due to tunneling.

I don't understand any purposeful DC.

3/4 (, if not more), Blights run Ruin+Undying+Tinkerer (, which is an already abused and unfun combo) and the game just becomes extremely unfun (I'd honestly rather a spirit without stridor than this, but thats personal preference). But what baffles me is that more people on here don't complain about him (or ever). It's always Spirit. Am I the only one who feels like this is such an unfun combo to play against, and possible the worst one out of the entire game? I talked to my friends who play (it's only 2) and one of them doesn't mind blight, and the other one "doesn't play enough to know how he feels anymore".
Because I don't complain about perks being used? It doesn't matter to me as survivor or killer what perks people use. There are plenty of perks and an item to help against totem builds. As a killer you run the risk of losing your perks when you bring in hex totems. As a survivor I find Blight challenging to go against - which is why I play - to be challenged. I personally don't play Blight as killer as he is just not my playstyle as killer.

Dont allow people to be toxic, devs. It ruins this game.
Survivors aren't always toxic - stop generalizing an entire side of the player base.
-
Hellraiser: Pinhead for the killer and Kristy Cotton as the survivor.
-
I have said this for a very long time - If I log into Survivor I should have three survivor challenges, and if I log into killer - killer challenges. here's the thing BHVR can't seem to understand - if I don't want to play a certain killer/killer or specific survivor/survivor - no daily challenge is going to change my mind. I play what I want when I want to play it. I play/stream DBD 6 days a week: Survivor Survivor Killer Killer Survivor Killer. If I have all killer challenges on a survivor day - I just delete one and hope for a survivor one and vice versa.
-
I think the pallets are working the best they have in a long time as both killer and survivor.
-
I don't mind Hawkins or Midwich as killer or survivor. I actually really like Midwich as survivor and killer.
RCPD not a fan as either killer/survivor.
Haddonfield - meh - it's an ok map - not my fave not my least fave
Gideon - Another meh map for me - prefer it more as a killer than survivor actually (especially with Doctor)

I see nothing wrong with slugging for a 4k like you said HOWEVER killers who slug and leave the downed survivor for legit 10 full minutes and let them bleed out is not playing smart THAT is holding the game hostage.
Stop with the "Boo hoo killers need to do this" cause there is a massive difference between slugging a survivor, doing a quick sweep of the map to find them then coming back to hook that downed survivor. compared to leaving a survivor downed for 10 full minutes and letting them bleed out.
AGAIN... if they leave them on the ground it is 4 minutes.... Not saying I agree with it - but don't exaggerate for effect.
-
Meh most SWFs are just friends playing together and not the boogeyman the forums want you to think they are....
As a killer I don't dodge even obvious SWFs - I just don't see the point. A SWF doesn't make a team God-like even with comms. I have beaten down many SWFs who come to my channel after and GG me and I have gotten my butt handed to me by 4 solos. Part of the fun as killer to me is the challenge - whether that is 4 solo players who are great at the game or 2-4 friends playing together.
-
I haven't seen a cheater in any of my matches in probably 7-8 months.
People like to exaggerate and use words like epidemic which would imply it is happening on a widespread scale - which it's not.
