Wow, a pitiful bp increase and a crown that has little difference from the last one. I'm toooootally gonna waste my time participating.
Like how you wasted your time - telling a bunch of strangers that you aren't playing a game any more?

Never grouped them together whatsoever. I merely stated that I have largely had bad experiences with streamers, and wondered if others also did, and quite a number of people have.
Seems like you’re projecting and making a big deal out of nothing, when it’s our personal experiences.
Actually you said anytime you play with "a TTV"... not some.. or a majority.. your wording was absolute. So yes you did group TTVs together - sounds more like you need to say what you mean and mean what you say instead of backtracking.
I mean your summary even says: I hate playing with streamers.
Not some - or most... just streamers. Maybe choose your words more wisely in the future to convey your actual thoughts.

I mean, did you read the vast majority of respondents to this thread who have stated that the majority of streamers are usually pretty chill? Just cause the OP is being judgmental it feels like you're castigating everyone.
From my own experience every TTV I have ever gone against (play killer almost exclusively so never against a TTV killer) has been chill until this evening actually. Vast majority of the time, and especially when I'm chilling at R1 waiting on rank reset, I just get everyone to death hook and then let people finish generators and leave, I explain after it's more BP for everyone and there's really no benefit to ruthless or merciless at R1. Most streamers are very appreciative and I often watch the replays, follow, let them know who I was, and wish them GL in the fog. Had one tonight who ruined that streak but it is what it is.
TL:DR Streamers are people, you'll find some douchenozzles but most are good peeps.
My post was meant at the OP - guess I should have quoted them.....
-
Yes because grouping TTVs into a group and stating that they all do a certain thing is a productive and objective thing... oh wait.. no its not.
My experience is that streamers (Both TTV and YT) tend to be less "toxic" and just trying to be fun and entertaining. I do find that I get a lot more non-streamers than streamers who come into my chat who are homophobic and racist - probably because I have end game chat disabled and they wanna show off their SDE to an audience
When I play/stream killer I usually get 2-3 non-streamers who come in and make bigoted statements and very rarely get a fellow streamer who does this. When I play survivor it is usually only 0-1 killers who come in to try and be racist homophobes and I don't think I have ever had a killer streamer come in and be an idiot in my chat. If I had to guess - 95% of my bans in my channel are non-streamers from DBD, a few (2-3) are streamers, and the other 4.75% are bots.
But please continue with your broad generalizations regarding a small group of individuals - it's very enlightening.

What type of mods are you talking about?
If you're talking texture mods for perks, killer/survivor portraits, etc. that stuff is fine and BHVR has even said as much.
If you're talking something to do with gameplay.....not so much.
No what they have said is: No one has been banned for this action, but if EAC ever flags an account that does this - they will not help you recover your account. Using perk image modifiers is something you do at your own risk and if it is ever flagged and your account banned - that's that.

But, I most kick the bebe. Give me more Twins players.
I am thanks. Again you failed to even remotely address the point of my posts and instead just chose to react in a juvenile manner. At least I now know who to not bother replying to on the forums.
This is why we need a block feature on these forums - to avoid posters who contribute nothing to the actual conversations.
-
DBD has a lot of players who suffer from SDE - that's why.
-
I only play Wraith now without addons otherwise it just feels like a cheap win. Wraith used to be my second main killer - ever since his buff I have played him maybe a dozen times because it just doesn't feel challenging or rewarding.

If there was a drinking game that for every post you use the word hyperbole, we would all have cirrhosis of the liver.
Which doesn't negate that the majority of posters rely on it to try and make their point - much like your post. Oh - the irony.
I have made 647 posts of which approximately 80% contain the word "hyperbole" in them - for a total of 517.
The daily intake amount that is deemed healthy for an adult when it comes to alcohol is one drink per day - which would be 1.25 years of having a drink per day - which would in a healthy adult not lead to cirrhosis of the liver. But yes your comment was a cute way to completely disregard the ideas in my post and continue with the inanity of this thread.

I am a 50/50 player so I will say this:
If tunneling is a valid strategy then holding W is a valid strategy as well.
Tunneling makes the game entirely not fun for survivors - Holding W makes the game entirely not fun for killers.
Tunneling is a tactic to beat Holding W - Holding W is a tactic to beat tunneling.
Killers use tunneling to catch survivors who hold W - Survivors use holding W to avoid being caught while being tunneled/chased.
You cannot have it one way and not the other.
This will always be an issue because some killers will always tunnel and some survivors will assume a killer is going to tunnel and preemptively use holding W to counter tunneling.
This is not a flaw in map design contrary to what some will say. This is a result of psychology and adaptation. Survivors who cannot loop well will discover that they can adapt and extend chases more by holding W. This thought process is reinforced because killers will fall for this tactic and focus on survivors for an extended time when they hold W - reinforcing the notion that a killer is - tunneling them.
I honestly doubt anyone will read this and give it any actual thought - instead a lot people will continue to fall into their "main" bias way of thinking and refuse to actually look at something objectively. That is the problem with these forums - a large majority of the posters have "main bias" and refuse to actually think about any differing viewpoint that isn't aligned with their own with a modicum of objectivity.
Anyways - I am sure this thread will continue with inane comments full of hyperbole and cognitive biases. Carry on.

There is no counter to holding w. The only counter is the map itsself and that is RNG depended unless you use every single game a map offering which is very unlikely. Also the reason why it is a problem is because it wastes a massive amount of time of a normal Killer that doesnt has a good movementspeed ability without even using recourses like Pallets.
Sorry you have such a problem with survivors running. Not my experience though.
-
Unplayable is a bit hyperbolic (imagine that).
I will say it is frustrating seeing the number of purposeful DCs since the penalty was removed, but "unplayable" is an exaggeration.
-
I would argue that the forums are 95% "mains" both killer and survivor. It's why you see the majority of the threads on here over and over with a lot of the same people arguing the same black & white viewpoints. It's why some people refer to the forums as HIVE - because it is full of Hyperbole, Ignorance, Vitriol, and Ego.
-
Holding W is no more a problem than camping/tunneling.
As a killer I rarely run into survivors who just hold W - and when I do it doesn't deter me really. There are ways to counter W just like there are ways to counter camping as a survivor. It's way easier for 1 killer to counter W than it is for one survivor to counter camping/tunneling. Both are "valid" tactics - not ones I would use, but hey - to each their own I guess.
Like most things on these forums - I think some people are just blowing the topic out of proportion in an attempt to stir up things.
-
Wraith used to be my 2nd main killer (behind Doctor), but after his buff he became boringly easy. The only way I play Wraith now is without any addons and only running BBQ & Chili as my sole perk for the BP.

People complaing about perks has nothing to do with playstyle buddy. And rightfully so dead hard used right is basically another health state and is ridiculous strong.
OK then.. have you missed the 773 threads about killers complaining about teabagging/flashlight clicking? I mean that is a playstyle/action that literally does nothing to the killer but sets off their feelings/bruises their egos - yet there are a crap ton of threads about them.
These boards are full of whiners from both killer AND survivor mains. I play 50/50 and find it hilarious at the majority of the posts that "mains" put on these forums - overtly biased and full of hyperbole about sums up most "mains" posts. But yes - please continue propagating even more divisiveness - because that's what these forums need - more bias and hyperbole.
-
I hate this challenge as I do not usually hide unless I know for certain the killer has BBQ (and doesn't have Iron Maiden) and then that hiding doesn't affect the challenge since the killer is too far away. I had to force myself to get near others being chased and hide for like 15-20 seconds. It took me around 7-8 matches to complete this challenge.

look at the post above you.
Look at them agreeing with the following sentiments:
- There should be no killers that are strong in chases
- because no killer should be strong in chases there should be more unsafe pallets
- chases are the only fun part of the game
- all killers should be designed in a way that make chases the only thing to do so survs can go loopy-loop without thinking.
I don't see much of a difference between holding w and running up to a loop and hoping the killer will actually let one indulge in one's little superiority complex
I wasn't replying to anyone - I was making a statement that Tofu's opinion on this game means no more or less to me than anyone else.
Just because he streams and plays a lot - doesn't validate his opinion over yours or mine, but some people on these forums take his and other larger streamers opinion as facts and gospel.

I would make it so only the key holder could use a key to escape through the hatch.
I would make it so that if used - the key is gone - getting rid of Milky Glass addon.

Double standards survivors can play and do whatever they want. But killers get yelled at for everything.
Oh please. The killer mains on these boards complain just as much about Survivor perks/tactics as the survivor mains do about killer perks/tactics.
Or have you missed the 1,824 threads complaining about: Dead Hard & Unbreakable?

I don't mind being slugged because I run SOUL GUARD as a base perk :)

HIVE - that is what we call these forums on my Discord. We say things like "Gonna go check out the HIVE" "Did you see what so & so said on the HIVE?" etc etc
I can't remember who specifically came up with the acronym but it is quite appropriate and has been in use way before the RE8 chapter was even a thought.
-
Meh - he's just another player - I don't give his thoughts/opinions any more weight than I do some random players.
-
I reached rank 1 killer again after reset on the 17th and rank 1 survivor again after reset on 20th. Survivor took me longer because Friday was a Dixper stream for me and well - Dixper is not conducive to leveling LOL!
-
LOL any killer can "beat" a SWF. Not all SWFs are try hard. Not all SWFs are super coordinated. Not all SWF are 4 man death squads. Most SWFs are just friends playing together - for fun.
Easiest way to beat a 2-3-4 man SWF is to adapt to their overt altruism. Unlike 4 solo q who will do gens generally before going for a hook - you will get friends playing together wanting to ensure someone on 1st hook doesn't get to 2nd state. I am not saying to camp, but I wouldn't go all the way across the map after hooking either. Run nurses - SWFs love to heal one another more than solos.
Unlike killer or survivor mains who will generally tell you absolutes and use hyperbole.. look for posters who play both sides for more balanced views with way less biased opinions. Nothing is black and white when it comes to SWFs - Killers - maps - perks etc.... So my advice is ignore people who use words like "all" "only" "always" "never" etc... u get the point.

Yawn - this again?
As a killer I LOVE going against DH users - much more so than Sprint Burst or Lithe.

I love when survivors use Fail Hard. :)

You make a good point. Me and you as the balancing team then? Although I am a killer main and would probably ruin the balance in favour of my own selfish whims.
Well I am a 50/50 player - which I wish more players were. That's why I laugh at a lot of the posts on these forums because the survivor/killer main bias seeps through their posts.
-
Conversely I have noticed that killers get way sweatier as the night progresses as well.
I go into every match assuming the best. I don't take out any frustration from a previous match on a new group of players/killer. I value my character as a survivor and killer and don't believe in "punishing" players for the behavior of others. Punishing others will only make them more jaded - which in return they may then take out on those in their next match - it is a vicious cycle. I don't get upset over "toxic" killers or survivors - I just move on to the next match.
-
@JawsIsTheNextKiller said:
They need a separate group of players to help with balancing. You do not need to be any good at the game to be a Fog Whisperer so they should not be the people doing it.
Seasoned Non-Fog whisperers who understand and care about the game like Scott Jund and True Talent would would be much better choices for balancing. (I probably wouldn't put them in the same room together though.)
Fog Whisperers are not a part of any balance team - your assumption is misguided. The Fog Whisperer is more an ambassador and marketing role than anything when it comes to DBD. You do realize True WAS a Fog Whisperer right? And Jund would be a horrible person when it comes to balancing imo.

I swear blight is the only killer I see with the same 3 perks without fail each time. Always ruin, undying, tinkerer, with a 4th perk that's usually bbq. Not asking for a nerf. Just a mini rant I had to say
They don't. Broad generalizations do nothing to further an actual discussion.

I'd be fine with that, if the nerf kept it potentially strong while making it less punishing for solo queuers
and if they made more hex perks that punish survivors for ignoring totems, since the undying nerf the only killer perks that encourage survivors do cleanse dulls are noed and...thrill of the hunt
Uhh Devour Hope??? Makes no sense to ignore it once they reach 3 hook states because the game becomes 100% more difficult at that point.

Oh those terms are used so loosely it's not even funny.
I've been called a face camper - Even though I was the whole way across the map on mothers dwelling. They were so slow to save. That I teleported back(freddy) with about 10 seconds to go for them to hit struggle. So I stuck around for to ensure struggle.
I've been called a face camper - Even though I went and literally checked 4 generators and found nothing. So I circled back around to my hook to check. At that point I found 2 survivors and camped it. Because well..Why would I allow a free unhook when I know where 3 of 4 survivors are. So I forced them to either hit struggle or come exchange
I also look at the poster's history on the forums - very easy to spot killer/survivor mains - and their biased opinions.
-
I think the definition of TUNNEL is vague and the term overused for situations which are not truly tunneling. In my 4.5 years & approx 1700 hours played as survivor (out of 3500 total hours played) -98% of which is red rank - I can count on my fingers and toes how many times I have truly been tunneled. So; without actual evidence I tend to think most forumites are simply being hyperbolic when it comes to claims of tunneling.
-
MAP: Badham
KILLER: Legion - just boring to play, play against, and watch someone do either.
SURVIVOR: Survivors are just skins so doesn't matter to me.
PERKS: NOED/Deadhard - Both are crutch perks that are overused
MECHANIC: Bleed Out - Make it once you are fully recovered you can attempt to get yourself up (Much like a hook escape) with each unsuccessful attempt increasing your bleed out rate.

But today: Blight, Freddy, Blight, Bubba, Nurse, Spirit, Spirit, Billy, Trickster, Trapper, Spirit, finally Nemesis, Legion, Plague, Bubba.
Anyone else experiencing this?
EDIT: Updated it
I played 13 matches today - 5 were against Nemesis. Also faced a couple Spirit, a Doctor, Pig, Wraith, Blight, Oni, and Hag.

@Kalinikta said:
There is a severe lack of understanding and generalization on the survivor's end when it comes to tunneling and camping. Many cannot or will not distinguish between the timings of these tactics and when a killer was actually trying to be nice and will call the killer a camper or tunneller regardless.
- Camping at end-game: Camper
- Camping at 5 gens: Camper.
- Slugging at end-game: Try-hard
- Slugging at 5 gens: Try-hard
- Tunneling at 1 gen left and 2 hooks on the board; Tunneller
- Tunneling at 5 gens on one person: Tunneller
I play usually a match or two nice, get beat, need to escort the survivors out of the game and get smack talked and call the above even though I let people get uncontested unhooks etc. After that I return to not caring anymore and do what I have to do in order to kill.
Survivor's are a key reason why people stop caring about the enjoyment of survivors. Killers are expected to 'get good' to be 6k hour players or just lose.
Yes because broad generalizations are a great way to start a mature discussion. Sarcasm.
-
@van9684 said:
And why does the community accept it just because it’s a bubba player? Literally every single game they get that one survivor in the basement and the camp begins. Also, how is that even fun for the killer? You have a one hit down chainsaw and you choose to ruin the game for all playing. Why is it mostly seen on this one particular killer over all the others?
They don't - end of story. Stop generalizing ALL players based off of some.
-
I only really farm as killer if there is 2 DCs or people who kill themselves on first hook - as it seems unfair to continue a regular match at that point.
Every now and then I will get a killer stop in my stream when I play survivor before hand and ask me to help with their challenge - which I oblige generally.

Prime example of SDE.

Either way it doesn't change the fact it makes the game suck when you have a fellow teammate helping the killer out. There has to be a way to counter this.
There is a way - report it in game and then follow up with a report online at https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
If you don't report them - then they will continue to do it. If you do report them - the incident will be looked into and action taken.
Stating that "but nothing is done" is inaccurate and just makes others not report. If you don't take the appropriate action - then that is on you.
-
As a survivor - I just think to myself "What a temper tantrum baby." I just keep trucking and trying to do gens/totems etc.
As a killer - I start to go a little easier on the remaining survivors when people purposefully DC or kill themselves on first hook.
No matter what I am playing I always question why these type of people bother playing an asymmetrical game like DBD.
FYI I think you meant: predominantly not prominently.
-
I'll be buying the DLC because I am a completionist and want all the perks available in game. I will not be playing either survivor. The only time I play a different survivor than my main (Feng) is for a challenge.
-
I think it is fine as it is now and does what it is intended to do - stop tunneling.
-

I'm begging y'all. Please run DS. killers are tunneling and camping far more and it kills me to see y'all die like so quickly just because you refuse to run a perk that was nerfed. All the camping and tunneling you go through is on you, not the killer.
Never needed it - not wasting a perk slot on something I don't need. When I play survivor I am very rarely tunneled. I think in my 3000+ survivor games I have ran it MAYBE 12 games and got to use it - once. I'll stick to something like SOUL GUARD which I get WAY more use out of.
