Survivors will 1,000% abuse this system. They do need eyes on before any ban is issued, not an autoban. Survivors already report players for using killers they don't like. Are you going to try and say survivors won't abuse it?
That's what I thought.
Oh I absolutely think a lot of players - killer and survivor alike will TRY to abuse it. But I also think that like the current system - reports for things like camping, teabagging, tunneling, flashlight clicking - will be ignored. If you think survivors are the only ones who do idiotic "reports" then you are obviously biased. I just think it's a bit premature and paranoid to think that the OPs list will result in any actions taken. It has already been stated NUMEROUS times that things such as teabagging, tunneling, camping, and flashlight flicking are not against the TOS. If something is not against the TOS then one could with reasonably certainty come to the conclusion that an autoban would not be initiated especially for some of the inane things that were in that list.
But I also understand this community very well and know that the paranoia and hyperbole is going to be at a stupid level for the next week or so...which is why this is my last post for at least a week until some of these people find their pacifier or get their anti-anxiety prescriptions refilled.

I wonder what they meant by working for the Mori, is it not enough work,to catch 4 people and hook them all 8 times, with the rate of gens that could be done ,what sort of work does this mean 😶
This is just my assumption - I am not stating it is what they mean.
I THINK that they mean it will be something similar to Executioner - where you have hooked the person twice and will have a choice between a mori or a third hook. You have "worked" for the mori by already hooking them twice. In other words: Mori will become basekit after 2 hooks.
AGAIN - this is me speculating.

In the stream, they literally said they are making an auto-ban feature that "after a number of reports" they will automatically ban you.
Oh I know - I watched it and streamed it for my viewers. I just failed to see where your list was covered as actions that would result in a ban. So since the devs didn't offer that information you either have intimate details of a system that isn't complete (which is what they said in the stream) or you are just guessing and adding to the already ridiculous amount of hyperbole and paranoia on the forums.

Uhh... nice talking points?
Have you gotten body blocked in a chase by them yet? Or are you just extremely lucky? They weren't fun to deal with in tight hallways or when they blocked the only vault you could have taken. It's not enjoyable to have a chase cut down by something neither you nor the killer are really able to control.
Well considering it is the PTB - Did you post your concern in the PTB forum? Or are you just going to complain here where it won't be seen by those who actually are involved with the PTB and any possible changes. That is the entire point of the PTB - to gain feedback and to be made aware of any possible bugs before the chapter goes live in 21 days.

It still would've been nice to get the cakes on the new characters. Maybe Behaviour will reconsider but I wouldn't hold out hope.
Not sure what you mean. The anniversary will happen AFTER the new characters and the cakes appear in every characters bloodweb. The only thing limited are the crowns - to non-DLC characters.

I didn't ignore it. I just don't think you qualified your overreaction since there is no information about the autoban system, and had no need to go into it any deeper just so you could call me a simp again. I stated my opinion and I stated why I think people are overreacting. I won't be joining others on the freak out wagon.

The thing i'm most looking forward to is to get banned when i play killer because I:
- camped
- tunneled
- slugged
- 4ked
- downed a survivor
- used NOED
- used any perks at all
- Kicked a gen
- Moved at the start of the match.
Or when i play survivor because i:
- Use DS
- Use Dead hard
- Use a flashlight
- Save a teammate
- Use borrowed time
- Do a gen
- Escape with a key
- Use the hatch
- Pallet stun the killer
- And otherwise don't stand still and let the killer hook me.
I seemed to have missed where they posted your list of supposed ban worthy actions.

The new chapter drops on June 15th.
The 5 year anniversary is July 1-15.
Crowns are not for licensed characters - only originals. The new characters are licensed and will not be able to get crowns.

No one knows. it was briefly mentioned that they are working on a new auto ban system. Now - just like clockwork in an elementary school - the forum has gone completely hyperbolic and hysterical. Instead of waiting for information - some people are just freaking out like scared children.
There are no details because the system isn't even completed nor has it even been internally tested yet. So for your own piece of mind I recommend just ignoring any threads about it as they will only be fueled by paranoia and speculation and have no facts whatsoever.

And again, i never asked to remove them. Just more interaction between the zombies and the killer, that's it.
As i said before: "If killer was able to place them or whatever i would be fine with them"
So you want the killer to be able to place them around their hex totems, generators, exit gates, etc? In my opinion that would be far more overpowered.
-

Again, no so easily avoidable in narrow places or indoor maps, especially when you are being chased. If killer was able to place them or whatever i would be fine with them, but spawning just like that without any requirement other than just picking a killer? I don't know dude, it doesn't feel right.
And again - it is the evolution of the game to create even more threats and mechanics to the game. The zombies fit perfectly with the RE theme. I, like many, feel this is a step in the right direction for the game and that this was a perfect time to introduce something like an AI aspect. They will not be removing them - as they are also integral to Nemesis' power. You don't have to like it - there are things about certain killers which I don't like.
DBD has to evolve - and this is a really good step in that evolution of game mechanics.

I agree with this. Geez people are wound up tight.
HOWEVER, I find it hard to believe that nobody at Bhvr could have anticipated this kind of reaction with such little information released. I don't think they should have mentioned the new system at all if they weren't prepared with some concrete information.
So, yes everybody needs to chill out. But at the same time.. Bhvr, you've been at this for 5 years now. You can do better.
As soon as I heard it mentioned I knew with 100% certainty that the forums would be full of hysteria and hyperbole. It's not surprising since that is the general mentality of a lot of posters on these forums. BHVR should have held off on announcing it until the system was completed and had been tested thoroughly internally. If they had announced it with specifics the hysteria would have been lessened...not completely gone.

Yeah, but plague has to puke on stuff. Zombies spawn just by playing as Nemesis, you don't have to do anything at all.
Again - the game needs to evolve and the reaction to them has been overwhelmingly positive as a good advancement into new threats in the game. Have you actually played the PTB? (Guessing not as they are easily avoidable)
-
I mean if you want to get technical - it's quite similar to Plague puking on pallets, windows, gens - if you interact you get infected.
Adding new features to the game is a good thing - and I for one thought the zombies added an extra layer of horror after a few matches in PTB.
I think it is absolutely on brand for RE to add zombies.

Hi all! Survivor main here! This question might sound salty and/or bait-y but I genuinely want to know something! This is not an anti-Killer post, this is not an anti-perk post, this is not meant to provoke anything negative.
Do you enjoy chases? Be honest!
So often I've been seeing Starstruck paired with the terror radius increase perk (which is a clever build!) or the Michael 'Exposed' perk. Those Killers who didn't have that (and most who did) also have Sloppy Butcher.
Now let me clarify something! I've played this game for a long, long time. I understand that a shorter chase means quicker return to applying gen pressure. I'm not asking for reasons behind the tactic, I get it. I've just noticed that at the rank I'm at now chases are like... Not a thing. At all. I'm seeing red rank tier 1 Survivors run for 5-15 seconds max and get downed. And my casual playing self sure isn't doing any better. 🤣 In 23 rounds tonight I saw two Survivors escape and one only got it by a pure chance hatch. Every other one was a very short round 4k with basically no chases.
Chases are my favorite thing about this game, I really love seeing well executed plays where Killers mindgame me and lure me to a hit. Of course I am excited if I manage to outsmart them and escape. But between 7/23 of my rounds tonight being against Bubba, 5 against Spirit (4 who had Stridor), and a surprising amount of Exposed perk, this was personally one of my least enjoyable nights I've had in DbD. Not because anyone was doing anything wrong but because the chase was ending with one hit right out the gate - it was boring.
I know so much of this is because the game railroads even casual or not skilled players into red ranks where people are good and do play seriously, but just... It shocks me how little Killers seem to want to do any kind of chasing.
I'd also love to know what your favorite part of being a Killer is since I rambled a bit about my favorite part of Survivor! 😊Happy gaming, everyone! <3
I love chases, but I also enjoy downing survivors. I run Starstruck Doctor sometimes; usually it's a channel point request by a viewer. How much use I get out of it all depends on whether the survivors play smart or if they don't.
I am not a killer main - I play 50/50 because it really does make you a better survivor/killer if you play both sides.

Many players no longer care about points due to the increasing toxicity of killers. After 1600 hours of playing, I don't care about points anymore, because I have everything, and playing 70% of games where I'm tunneled or camp leads to a situation where it's better to make a derank to ranks 15-9. Many survs would prefer to play for fun, even on bots. The introduction of bots solves a lot of playing soloQ. I would love to check how many players prefer to play with normal users and how many with bots ;)
Again as long as it is basically KYF but with bots - I have no issue with it. If people don't care about BP/Tomes/etc then there won't be an issue with it being popular.
Then again everyone I know likes BP and completing the Rift. I think I have been in maybe 12 KYF matches in 4 years because everyone would rather just play and get stuff instead of KYF.
I have almost 3300 hours and while I have every killer and survivor 50 - they are not all P3 and do not all have every perk. So yeah I'll stick to playing against real people for the challenge and rewards :)
-
@Szakally said:
I have a better idea than this. Just add bots as it is in the mobile version. Problem solved with everything
Sure as long as you don't get BP and it doesn't count as something for challenges. Bots would be WAY too easy to award bloodpoints etc.

@Tailo said:
Seriously, can't they tell when someone genuinely dc's vs pressing the leave game button. Its actually disheartening and feels very bad when the servers just randomly kick you from a game and also slaps a double depip on top of that.
No they cannot tell an accidental disconnect and someone simply unplugging their router/modem. This is not unique to DBD - it is an online game issue. All someone would have to do is unplug their modem and the system would think they lost internet. This could be (and was) highly abusable in DBD as well as other online games. Yes they know when someone hits "Leave Match" but again people could just as easily unplug their router to try and fool the system...and in return ruin the game for the other 4 players.
So since there is an easy way to fake internet loss most online games penalize players for all disconnects. If you are DCing due to technical issues you should report it in the BUGS section of the forums so that BHVR can determine if the issue is on their end or yours - which could potentially help other players in the future if it is an issue on BHVR's side.

I wasn't derailing the thread, you said swf wasn't common. It is, unless your specifically talking about 4 man swf and denying that 2/3 man swf have power then this is on topic.
I tend not to care for swf personally. They have an advantage, but unless they're a tourney squad then they aren't invincible. Yes losses are mostly my fault, if not all my fault (this is about rng), but knowing that they have an inherent advantage because they decided to chose to play as friends is annoying, and knowing that I cannot swap killers to deal with them/ have no notification saying that they are swf so I can't swap out stuff pregame forces me into the mentality to play nurse or hag to win incase they are swf and semi-competent.
I also play pretty much 50/50.
I was just addressing the point that you made that swf aren't that common, which they are, and no matter what type of swf there is a benefit to going even 2 man swf. So to just count 4 man swf in this sort of discussion is ridiculous. Whilst 4 man swf is the most problematic, the others are a boost.
Maybe, rather than being disingenuous, actually address my points. If you cannot do something that simple then a discussion is not what your looking for, more so your looking for an echo chamber.
What I said was: "Except you think every match is a SWF - when most of them obviously aren't" - I am not talking IN GENERAL I was referring (again) to his VODs where it is obvious that he was not facing bully squads etc - like he claims he is almost EVERY match. You will find that Lord_Tony loves to speak using hyperbole and vitriol most of the time.
There is no denying SWFs exist and that they can have advantages over matches with all solo players. I personally have no issues with SWFs - I like a challenge and frankly solo teams sometimes are laughably easy. I gain way more pleasure from owning a 2-4 man SWF than I do beating up a bunch of randoms running around aimlessly.
Unlike Tony - I own my mistakes and when I am outplayed - whether that be by solos or a SWF - I own that too. I don't need to throw a temper tantrum on my stream and come to the forums and continue acting like a petulant brat throwing a temper tantrum spouting off hyperbolic claims.
-
I'm comfortable with being red rank killer. As a survivor - honestly I should probably be like 5-6/purple rank. I am a better killer than I am a survivor. Not saying I am a bad survivor, but there are a few killers if played well I have a hard time against.

Just a nitpick... XBOX and PS were released in June 2017... so almost 4 years now - not 5.
I honestly don't think it's not that they "don't care" it's just that the spaghetti code of DBD is not easy to optimize for consoles. Then again I am not a coder and wouldn't have a clue how to optimize DBD.

Right so if we are only talking about 4 man swf I'd agree, but even 2-3 man swf have an advantage, it's one-two less ######### teammates, plus there can be some level of coordination and you can do plays that are usually impossible as solo with even a 2 man swf. Plus you can still share info.
I play killer plus solo and 2-3 man swf (2 mates tops, played a few games as a 4 man but not often or recent) and 2-3 man swf still have an advantage. And overall any swf makes up just under 50% of overall players (48.6%) in the most recent stats given by devs with 16% being killers. Meaning more people are swf (2-3-4 man) than solo. And we do not know the spread, but my guess would be most 3-4 man swf are in red ranks. I have no clue for 2 man swf, but the other 2 are pretty safe to guess.
So swf is more common than people think, please don't try to underplay it. It makes you sound dishonest or even disingenuous.
I have no issues with SWFs as a killer. But this man also thinks EVERY match he is facing is a 4 man SWF and blames that for his losses. This thread is about his claim that A LOT of players are running all his so-called clutch second chance perks.. and that is easily disproven from the VOD he had a few days ago... where NOT ONE survivor had the perks he claims a lot of them run.
Instead of trying to derail the thread - maybe stay on topic. There are plenty of killer main threads out there decrying SWFs. I am not a "main" player... I am a 50/50 player and frankly the boogey man that is the SWF doesn't scare or deter me.
-
Not sure what platform you use or whether you use wifi/direct connection.
I am on PC with ethernet connection and have never had these issues.

Based on the frequent "nerf noed" posts there's not many decent survivors. 😂
That's like saying there aren't many decent killers because they cried for a nerf to DS for the longest time....
Also known as a faulty generalization....
-
Translation: I didn't kill anyone by the EGC and think the Devs should give me a way to get a pity kill.
@bm33 said:
NOED is a pretty cool perk for end game situations like that. Starstruck is another cool one.
Except any decent survivor would already know that NOED exists and would simply find the totem before attempting a rescue. Starstruck won't work because the three other survivors are off totem hunting while the killer stands by at the hook. If you can't get a sacrifice before EGC I doubt much is going to actually help you.

This build is problematic and it's even worse when all 4 survivors use it. (SWF)
Funny I just watched one of your VODs and not ONE survivor had this build in ANY match you played in your 3 hour 49 minute stream. If you are going to exaggerate and be all hyperbolic - just remember that your VODs exist :) I did chuckle when you rage quit a match though.

You shouldn't care about ranks too much in this game. Rankings are a complete joke in DbD and nowhere near representative. Took me literally 40 hours (as a new player) to reach red ranks as Killer. And the matches in red ranks still felt like I was playing against bots half of the time while the other half felt like I was playing against the gods of looping and gen rushing.
Pssst the complaint is about bloodpoints - not rank.

You may not want to listen to forum members when it comes to legal advice. I would recommend you to first check with BHVR on whether you need permission to host a competition for money (Some games require users to get permission beforehand). You will find a lot of internet lawyers (not real lawyers) who more often than not can put you in a bad position with their "advice." So my advice: Consult people who actually have a say (BHVR) on whether there are any restrictions to hosting a tournament with monetary requirements/pay outs of their game.
-
Legion: Mend Mend Mend Mend Mend - Yawn.
-
If you are streaming it on Twitch/YouTube you may want to check with someone there as there are specific rules against raffles/competitions that have to be met under the law and TOS.
-
I find the majority of my interactions with other streamers & players to be mainly positive - both during a match and after (When they come in my stream due to me having End Game Chat disabled).
Only real issues I have is when salty players come to my stream to try and spout off their bigoted homophobic and racist comments. Most of my interactions with players who come in my streams are positive, but I do get the random bigoted killer/survivor.
Oh sorry didn't mean to interrupt the TTV bashing.... because according to the forums end game chat is never littered with racist/homophobic/bigoted/salty chat by non-streamers :) (sarcasm)
-
Nope - still play 5-6 days a week and stream DBD 4 days a week.
Never understood posts like these - reminds me of the guys who hang out at high school after they graduate or go "visit" their last place of employment that they quit; before they got fired. I have never visited a forum for a game I quit playing - kinda cringeworthy.
-
If I keep getting the same map during a session I start using my map offerings - I just use whichever ones I have the most of randomly. I don't mind any map really except Blackwater Swamp - I never purposefully go there.

Then don’t buy or play it.
A bot will never replace the capability of a human player but plenty of online pvp games have a solo mode and they are generally fun to play.
Obviously it would have to be a custom game set up with no progression attached to it. The goal isn’t to replace the main game but rather supplement it with the option for solo play.
If it was a dlc add on I’d buy it.
I wouldn't buy or play it. One of the main draws of DBD for me is to play against other humans who have to make choices. I have played multiplayer games with bot adversaries and find them to be boring and predictably easy. I doubt DBD will ever venture into this realm, but hey if they do - have fun.

Ever notice a lot of the BT change complaints come from:

That would take SO much resources that DBD would have to literally sell it as a DLC option for quite a bit of money. Have you ever played against/with bots - even the best ones are stupidly easy to beat or so stupid they are of no help.
Any type of bot play would have to be treated like customs - No BP earned and no ability to complete dailies/rift challenges. This would be so easily exploitable otherwise.
If you played killer you would easily kill everyone even with decent bots. Who would choose the survivor perks you would go against? Seems kinda OP if you get to choose each survivor perk - as then you would know how to easily counter them.
As a survivor you would easily escape the killer. And who would choose the killer and their perks? Seems a bit much being able to choose the killer and their perks.
Seems super boring to me.
