  • I respect the 4% to a degree. Just because a survivor 4% does not mean they get to live to me. What it means to me is... you get a chance to survive. I mean I don't face camp or tunnel so generally speaking if you unhook yourself... it's just like if someone else unhooked you to me. Now if you are the last survivor and you do it.... I MAY give you the hatch - just depends on my mood at the time, but in no way do I feel you have earned it or are owed the hatch.

  • I disabled EGC a long time ago and my life is way better.

As for toxic players - they come in all forms - streamers, non-streamers, etc. I used to actually post on here under my twitch name, but after so many forum people would come in and just spew homophobic and racist comments I had that account deleted and switched to this one. I'm not a HUGE streamer, but I am a Partner and make my living off Twitch and YT - but got tired of every day people form the forums coming in and being disruptive or posting juvenile comments on my YT vids.

BHVR can only do so much to stop idiots - use what tools you have available - especially by disabling EGC - will make your games WAY better.

  • @Tekno_Badger said:

I'm sorry this happened to you. BHVR doesn't do anything to moderate this game, it's pathetic. I laugh at the people who put in their quotes that it's their job to stop cheaters or check reports, because they literally don't do anything, ever.

They gave an option to disable chat.

The enacted a wonky filter system.

I know for a fact reporting players results in bans.

So - no your post is not factual.

  • Never used it - Never will. Approx 1900 hours as killer and 1700 as survivor and I think it's a crap perk. I think it's cheap. With that being said - run it if you want - just makes me feel sleazy.

  • @Junylar said:

Basement camping Bubba is the only way to counter SWF, so no, it should stay.

    LOL... Oh wait you're serious?

  • This is an attempt at trolling right?

People like the OP are why there really needs to be a block/ignore function on these forums.

  • I rarely play with other people when I play survivor, but absolutely not to this suggestion. Punishing others for someone else's DC is just inane.

Three strikes and banned for a week?? Are you kidding me? Granted I have never purposefully DC'd and have never DC'd due to an internet issue/pc issue/server issue more than once or twice a month - but hell no.

I have no issues with the current system as it doesn't severely punish those who may DC due to an internet hiccup or other issue randomly/occasionally.

  • Doesn't matter to me what the updates are called.

I understand why it is just a killer - licensing. I am pretty sure part of the deal for Cenobite/Pinhead was that he release by himself since there is no licensed survivor being released with him. Waiting 6 weeks for an original survivor is fine with me - means less of a rush to get all of Cenobite's perks as well as the survivor perks.

People saying "the expectation is...." that is a self-imposed expectation and not one that BHVR has ever said they would stick to.

Whatever happened to wishing for less content so they could work on game health... ever stop to think that by releasing JUST a killer that is also allowing them to work on other issues behind the scenes? I swear - it doesn't matter what BHVR does - people will always complain on these forums.

  • I found matches both as killer and survivor to be more productive, balanced, and fun - so I am excited for its implementation.

  • Eyeroll. Just play how you want to play. Stop coming to the forums for validation. Who cares what random people think about whether you tunnel or camp? If you start ignoring all the stupidity about how you should play, which perks you use, which item or addons you use, etc - your DBD experience will improve dramatically.

What about it is more relaxing then survivor? At least with survivor you get breaks when on gens, as killer you are constantly forced into chases and high pressure situations.

I am responsible for my actions and my actions alone.

Playing survivor; especially since I do it 99% of the time solo - you often get pitted into either gen jockey or looper. This can make it harder to pip/safety pip (which is what I measure success by). As a killer it is WAY easier to work on all 4 emblems - thus making it easier to safety pip/pip. I enjoy the chase aspect of killer a lot! I just find killer way more fun and relaxing. And yes I am a rank 1 killer - have been for 4.5 years. I play about 55% of the time as killer out of 3700 hours. I play: Doctor, Pig, and Huntress mainly with a little dabbling in Hag, Plague, and Clown.

If you are on xbox the maximum you can record a clip is 10 minutes

No clue - I am a PC player and all the console players I know stream. I mean you could set up a twitch account just to store your vods I guess? Just trying to throw out ideas - I have no experience with consoles.

If you think Survivor is easier, you clearly don't get how this game is a 4v1, and that means that the odds are stacked in the former's favour.

Where did I say that? I actually said the opposite. Reading is fundamental. I find killer relaxing and less stressful. Your comment makes no sense in relation to mine.

  • See I think killer is WAY more relaxing. I do what I do and that's that. I don't have to worry about finding totems, rescuing survivors, potato survivors, immersed survivors, etc etc etc... I just go out and try to sacrifice people. I earn way more bloodpoints as a killer because I know I can spread my tasks out into the different emblems. When I am a survivor it is either focus on gens...or focus on being chased. As a survivor it is hard for me each month to get back to rank 1 - hard meaning it takes about 3-4 sessions. With killer I am back to rank 1 in 1-2 sessions easily each month.

It would also expose twitch streamers who love to call 'Hacking' when they miss when the replay says otherwise. 😂

Uhhh that makes NO sense since twitch streamers have clip ability and VODs.

If something feels/looks weird I ask someone to clip it so I can rewatch it outside of the game when I can actually take the time to see what happened. the only time I accuse someone of hacking is if it is BLATANTLY obvious OR I have rewatched the clip of it.

  • I have no issue with Tinkerer as a solo survivor - it's pretty easy to know when a killer has it and the counter to it is simple - pay attention.

  • You're being pettish and hypocritical.

Maybe check your own post history because on Aug 12,2021 you said:

"Survivor just needs to be locked in at the 15s mark when it's too late for anyone to leave. Alternatively, locking in survivor choice and loadout before even hitting the lobby would also work. Either way, it would severely lessen the stereotypes associated with keys, flashlight/box squads, and clone squads. This is just my own perspective, but if I go into a random lobby and everyone switches to X item or the same survivor at the last second, I'm not going to play nice, as there's a preconceived vibe of toxicity/tryharding."

We already know your stance on the issue. So now in an act of immature defiance you are propagating the stereotypes you claimed would be stopped by your suggestion. You already know what the answer is - you are just doing this in an attempt to cause strife on the forums - congrats you have lowered yourself to troll status.

If you are proud of doing something that you yourself have stated is toxic to win - that says a lot about you. Congrats you are now part of the problem you said needed fixed.

It's threads like these and posters like you that make me wish they would put an ignore/block feature on these forums.

oh yeah like 90% of the SWF playerbase exclusively only use those perks because they are fair and balanced and not OP at all.

You'll have to excuse Tony - he likes to exaggerate a lot - forgetting that people can go watch his VODs to see how he gets beaten a lot without people running "meta" perks. He's a hardcore killer main who does nothing but trash survivors then whines when they do/say anything to him. It's quite funny how much he rages at anything survivors do...and of course every match he thinks is a SWF.

Yes let's assume all friends who play together are toxic - eyeroll.

While they are at it they can make it so survivors can see the killer-their perks-and addons - because no one wants to go against a sweaty killer.

Generalizations are about as useful as a man who can't get it up at an orgy....

  • Twice a year maybe - and I just tell them to watch my VOD. People need excuses aside from their gameplay for why they lose....

I actually agree with you 100% with the things people let affect them, like I said though I don't have a problem with that, I get why people do a bunch of that stuff even if it IS annoying my issue though was them just being twats when the game was over in essence, you get me?

No I don't get you. You were so bothered you came to the forums to make a post about it. Get over it. People will be twats - just not sure why you are allowing their behavior to affect you so much. Stop letting people live in your mind rent-free. It's a game - it's not your work, school, real life interactions, etc - they are anonymous people online playing a game.

  • Meh - I don't let silly stuff like that bother me as killer. Just like I don't let the killer standing in front of me M1'ing me constantly if I am the last one hooked bother me. They both happen regularly and I just think it is silly to let things like that actually bother you.

I think people let way too much silly stuff affect them: Teabagging, BM'ing, Clicky Clicking, End Game Chat, etc etc -

I agree with @BabuDweet - the constant "Here's my story...agree with me...pat me on the back..etc" circle jerk nature of posts like these get nauseating. Aside from the hyperbole that is present in the majority of these posts - they do nothing but to create even more divisiveness on the forums.

Here's my advice: If you have lost the match and don't want to deal with what you deem as annoying or bad sportsmanship - watch a YouTube video until the match is over - thus entertaining yourself for a few mins and avoiding behavior you find unappealing.

  • Yes

    No

    Yes

    No

Reasoning: Keys should only work for the person holding the key.

  • I am pretty sure that if you have unlocked the OG Stranger Things perks you will not be able to get the generic versions.

  • Lost interest once I read you purposefully DC'd.

Netflix: loses like 1% of their money.

    Also Netflix: "oh ok"

More like 0.00047846889952153% - Netflix has 209 MILLION Subscribers. That's if you could get 100,000 DBD players to unsub btw - Good luck with that LOL!

So, playing Lery's yesterday, the survivors are being super-immersive. Two gens go by and I'm struggling to find anyone.

Eventually find a Nea, and down she goes. I put her up on the hook in one of the long bathrooms.

No sooner had I left the room, she gets unhooked, so obviously I head back (had zero idea where anyone else was and there were at least two survivors by definition right nearby) and who runs into me... Nea! OK, you want a BT smack and it builds up my STBFL so OK... she gets smacked, and down she goes.

I've no idea where the rescuer went, no scratches, checked a couple of lockers, nothing. So I decide to DS test Nea - changing the obsession is good so I can smack the rescuer safely in case they were the obsession. She doesn't have it... so up on the same hook she goes.

On the way out of the bathroom now I see the scratches, and follow them... and lo and behold it's a would-be rescuer, Zarina. Chase them down and literally grab them as they were unhooking, and the game did this weird bug where I had grabbed them, but the unhook also happened?? So Nea is literally standing in front of the hook blocking it, so smacked her again and down she goes.

Zarina goes up on the hook, and I take the opportunity to put Nea up too (another two gens had gone in this time so down to 1 gen now)... Nea is dead, and Zarina is rescued whilst I was taking her to hook.

The rest of the game plays out and is several minutes of hide-and-seek, eventually they all die because of reasons.

In the end game chat, Nea is still around and immediately cries "tunnelling..."

    Like, seriously?

    1) She got unhooked unsafely as soon as I started walking away

    2) She ran straight into me... maybe she didn't see which way I went because of the hooking animation taking over, but at least follow the rescuer then if you don't know?

    3) She got unhooked second time literally in front of the killer (I grabbed the rescuer)

    4) She didn't run/move at all after being unhooked and was blocking the hook, despite no BT and no DS (maybe she was stuck because of a bug in what happened, but she didn't mention that)

These are all survivor misplays in my book, but the cognitive dissonance for survivors is so overwhelming that it seems to convince them survivors can do no wrong and everything must be the killer's fault.

    Why??

It's not - using absolutes in an argument/statement where there are obvious non-absolutes is silly.

Found the survivor main-eyeroll. We get it-you're salty, biased, and hyoerbolic.

You couldn't be more wrong. I play both sides, and this uis something I have observed over my time playing it. Survivors play better than the killer and win in five minutes, they pip and the killer depips. The killer plays better and kills everyone in five minutes, they still depip. Don't you say thats kinda stupid? Or are you biased into beliving it is somehow fair to punish someone for plying better.

Pssst one look at my post history... shows I am no survivor main - but nice try at a juvenile reply. Unlike you - I play 50/50 and my posts are based on facts and statistics.

Your posts are almost exclusively killer-sided, but nice try backtracking. I think you forget people can see what you have said on the forums...

If the killer does not do enough aside from quickly down and kill... they will depip - just like a survivor who only does 2 gens and escapes... they will depip as well.

If you want to safety or pip - do more chasing, deviousness, brutality, etc. Quit whining and learn how to use the emblem system instead of trying to be a victim of your poor gameplay.

  • Found the killer main - eyeroll.

We get it - you're salty, biased, and hyperbolic.

Yes, it delays being hooked by a minute, totally worthless perk!

I've had chases extended WAY more by Lithe than DeadHard...or as I call it: FailHard

  • Repair 1 full generator, unhook a survivor safely, and escape the match.

  • Don't worry - it will be here permanently - Soon (like in 3 months).

  • I am currently rank 1 on survivor and killer. It wasn't any more difficult to go from 5 to 1 for me this past reset. The only time I waited for matches as a solo survivor were in the evenings - 3-5 minute waits, BUT that is on par with how it has worked for me in the past.

For Survivor I used the same perks for the entirety of SBMM: Alert, Borrowed Time, Lithe, and We're Gonna Live Forever. My escape rate rose SLIGHTLY and base BP was up almost 17% per match

For Killer I played my two mains:

Doctor: BBQ, Nurses, Pop, and Sloppy

    Pig: Corrupt, Tinkerer, Pop, BBQ

My kill rate was unchanged and had a slight (6%) increase in BP.

(Escapes, Kill rate, and BP gains were compared to the previous month's stats of those values)

  • I don't find Midwich confusing at all. I find Hawkin's more confusing than Midwich.

  • @SloppyVoldemort said:

Got to milk your costumers for every penny they have, you know?

    1. You do realize that a company needs to make money to pay their employees - you know the people who make the game and support staff - right... you get that? Do you think sales of the game are enough to pay employees and push out new content to pay employees to push out more content...and on and on and on. No - that's why there is a cash shop. You know what games did before free to play + cash shops - monthly subscriptions. You pay WAY more with a monthly subscription than with the model that is now more popular - cash shop. Cash shops work because some people spend $20-30/month + buy each DLC every 3 months. That allows people who never want to spend a dime besides the cost of the game - to play the game. Knocking a company for trying to make money to continuously work on a game seems silly.
    2. Your comment is even less effective as a shaming tool - since the price changes are government/tax related and are completely out of the hands of BHVR.
  • Part of maps being random is...that they can appear consecutively A LOT.

    Last month I had 7 Midwich in a row...and then 5 Lery's in a row

Last Tuesday I had every map - when I would get a repeat it would be a different variation. It's all... random.

I've gotten to where if I get a map 2-3 times in a play session I will throw in a map offering any more.

Maybe that was when MMR is off? Have you considered MMR bring On will make the chance of taking on these kinds of Sweat Team higher? I can handle sweating for like 1 or games a week but having Sweat games forever? Nah imma just uninstall.

Cool. No sense in discussing it then since you no longer play the game. Bye

  • So you are complaining you got a 4k and 30k points.. uhh ok.

So your problem is you had to work for the 4k???

I love when survivors bring BNP etc - I actually like a challenge. I would rather work for my 4k and BP than feel like I am railroading survivors.

I also love going against SWFs because that is more of a challenge than 4 solos who are disorganized.

Guess the difference is that some people actually like the tenseness of facing competent survivors with good perks and items.

  • Well seeing as SBMM has nothing to do with hacking...

Could have happened to you last week or next week.

How many hours have you played DBD? This was your first hacker? Guess that means hacking is out of control!!!!

I have 3600 hours and have ran into 2 hackers.

Since I have not ran into any during an SBMM test maybe that means SBMM deters hackers....

  • 12 hours (6 as killer and 6 as solo survivor)

    Faster ques for both roles

    More BP per match

Slightly increased escape rate as survivor

Same kill rate as killer (2.9/4)

    No increase in DCs

    Matches lasted longer

Matches were more balanced: No shut outs - The only match that was bad was due to a DC and suicide on hook.

I have 18-21 more hours planned and will give a thorough breakdown of stats after that.

  • @bibibib8 said:

Maybe that why i had a lot of haddonfield and red forest offering i play against survivor who know they have the advantage in those map. Look like im not playing until the test is gone

Pssst killers can bring map offerings as well.

  • My go to is: Hex: Ruin, Surveillance, Nurses, and BBQ.

Surveillance is great at the beginning of the match because people look for Ruin and so the gens regress and light up white.. then yellow when they go back to repairing - So at beginning of match especially that helps me get a few hooks :)

  • Yep. I track every match I have played since 2016. Comparing the last test to the prior month before the test:

    • There were no shutouts: No 4ks at 5 gens.
    • No 0ks
    • 18% increase in survivor bloodpoints earned
    • 7% increase in killer bloodpoints earned
    • Average match time increased by just over 90 seconds
    • Decrease in DCs
    • I experienced no discernible increase in wait time for survivor or killer compared to previous month at "red ranks"
    • My personal escape percentage increased by just under 4%
    • My personal kill rate remained the same 2.9/4

SBMM is coming and you will either go with it - or you won't.

  • Uhh no.

You have given no REASON for them to be higher tier. There is no justification; especially when BP is the only thing that allows you to "buy" items/addons/perks. I don't even need BP (All my survivor/killer perks unlocked, all my mains are P3 killer/survivor with every perk) - but I still think this is an inane idea.

  • Meh the only thing I consider toxic in DBD are people who DC on purpose.

While I don't teabag or clicky clicky etc as a survivor - it's not because I think that is toxic, but rather it is a waste of time. That 1 second you decided to teabag could easily be the 1 second that allows a killer to down you.

As a killer; people teabagging me doesn't anger me or anything like that. Again I just look at it as a waste of time, but hey if you wanna stick around for 1 second to do that - cool thanks for the 1 second.

Some people just love to throw around the word toxic and I mean that's your choice, but someone teabagging me as killer or spamming their flashlight doesn't affect me in a negative way when it comes to killer. Is it immature - meh kind of - toxic - only if your skin is paper thin. People standing at exit teabagging - uhm ok - I'll just go find something to break until you leave, look for the hatch to close it, or go grab a drink.

Aside from purposeful DCs the only other toxic behavior I have experienced in DBD was when I used to have end game chat open - that was a cesspool of toxicity and SDE.

  • Oh this again....

I have no problem with outfits from previous Rifts being in the store and I say this as someone who has completed every rift.

  • Take advantage of their poor gameplay and do gens - no different than what you do with a Bubba who facecamps.

    As to your proposal: No.

1 … 6 7 8 9 10 … 22
