Hmmmm then I have come across some uncleansable hex totems twice in 2 days. Guess I will have to submit bug reports then. I have never had a hex I couldn't cleanse before and in both matches this happened the killer had Hex: Plaything so I just assumed it was someone's Plaything totem.

Best way to do it is just have the Entity block it like anything else you can't interact with in that moment. Just take the spikes that appear on windows and the exit, and apply it in front of a Plaything totem. Easy-peasy and the message is clear.
Anything to differentiate it form a "normal" Hex totem should happen.

Well, as expected, the Survivors I speak of flood into the thread, ready to defend their territory.
Let's keep watching the posts. They will use all of the same lines from the same script we already know. It will amuse the small audience this thread was speaking out to.
Don't be inane. I am not a survivor main. I just think 99% of your posts are trash and only created to incite even more divisiveness. You are the epitome of hyperbolic. You are a prime example of why this forum needs an ignore/block function.
-
I only had one "lag spike" in about 15 hours of gameplay since 5.2.0 - so pretty sure it was just a lil' hiccup in my internet since it coincided with lost frames in my stream for 2-3 seconds.
-
Nope - I have never had an entire team DC at once - I think the most I ever had was 2 in like 15 seconds, and nothing happened to my game.
-
@Decarcassor said:
You know it would be nice if Hex: Plaything had some kind of indicator showing that its not a regular hex totem, so players who don't religiously follow the updates don't assume its a bug.
I agree - these Hex totems should have a different color glow to them so survivors don't waste their time trying to cleanse it AND waste the devs time by filing bug reports.
-
Troll much?
-
I rarely see Dying Light...and wouldn't say I have any feelings towards it actually. In the last 200 matches I have played as survivor I have seen it MAYBE 5 times.

ofc this depends on your region and mmr will bring it out more, not sure which side you play or what you think your mmr is.
Well I have been rank 1 as killer and survivor for 4+ years...soooo guessing my SBMM is decent. I am a 50/50 player from Western US.
Having an SBMM number would make no difference - and I don't think we should ever see anyone else's SBMM - I could see maybe seeing a breakdown of our own, but people would just use that to mess with the system even more to get their easier matches and win-streaks. But that's neither here nor there... the topic is cheaters and I just haven't seen many when I play killer or survivor.

The higher the caliber of survivors, the more accurate and crazy the flashlights get. I've seen some impressive saves before sbmm, but nothing on this level.
Hmmm haven't noticed as killer or survivor. Seems about same to me.
-
LOL what do flashlights have to do with SBMM at all?? You never even addressed it in your comment. Seems stupidly clickbait to me. care to elaborate how SBMM has ANYTHING to do with items?
-
I JUST hit 4000 hours in game yesterday and in that time I have come across 3 cheaters that I was aware of.
Two were speed hackers and 1 was someone with a flashlight that had a crazy area that lit up like 10 times the area it should have.
I know that both speed hackers were banned because they came into my stream to let me know in a very colorful and juvenile way.
-
It's mainly just an overused term on the forums - like "toxic."
A lot of survivors and killers like to call others sweaty if they are "trying" too much in THEIR opinion. I'm of the opinion that you play how you want to play, use the perks/items/addons you want to use, use the tactics you want to use - because you; like everyone else, paid to play this game. I don't believe in any of the inane "rule books" that both sides like to use when decrying others.
-
Ok then. I am still a 50/50 - have only seen improvements as both killer and survivor @ Iri1 with sbmm.
-
To answer the OP first question: Yes I am having fun as killer with SBMM. My kill rate is still the same...matches seem more balanced. I am a 50/50 player and have been rank 1 for 4+ years with approx 2100 hours as killer and 1900 as survivor.
-
Serious question: Why not just get Steam??
-
My matches today with SBMM
Killer matches @ Iri 1: Thana, Corrupt, Tinkerer used on every killer plus another perk depending on my mood. No Hex perks used.
Doctor (My main): 2k, 4ik, 4k - Only 1 gen left at both 4ks
Legion (2nd main): 3k, 3k, 2k
Pig (3rd main): 2k, 4k, 3k - 0 gens left at 4k - note 3k match had a Disconnect mid match
Blight (Only played twice before): 2k, 1k
Huntress (Prolly played 20 matches with her before): 2k, 4k, - 2 gens left at 4k
Nurse (Played MAYBE 5-6 matches before): 2k, 0k, 3k - 7 hooks on 0k - granted I made A LOT of mistakes and bad blinks
Survivor matches @ Iri 1: (All matches as solo survivor) - Lithe, Kindred, Inner Strength, Borrowed Time - Iri Map + Crystal Bead + Retardant Jelly
Cenobite: Dead at 2 gens, Dead at 0 gens, Escaped, Escaped, Found hatch after everyone sacrificed (No offering or key), Dead at 1 gen
Spirit: Escaped
Deathslinger: Escaped
Blight: Dead at 1 gen, Dead at 3 gens - personal note - I loathe going against Blight - my escape rate is much lower with him
Bubba: Escaped - this match was given to me after a suicide on hook and a DC
Nurse: Escaped - personal note - I love going against Nurse - my escape rate is significantly higher against Nurse
Wait times seemed the same as before for both survivor and killer.
-
Actually they lose points for being close to the hook. What you have to realize is that some players don't care about the points - they care about the number of kills.
Under CHASER emblem:
- -3 points: deducted each second you are within moderate proximity (16 metres) to a hooked Survivor (only applied after 10 seconds)
- -7.5 points: deducted each second you are within extreme proximity (8 metres) to a hooked Survivor (only applied after 10 seconds)

Is there a reason the rank grades aren't hidden like they were during the last test?
During the test... RANKS were hidden. Since we are now on the GRADE system those do not need to be hidden. Grades are not the same as rank.

Yes. That's all.

Why do you keep using quotations marks for things I didn't even say? Is that the only way you can make your point? Putting words in people's mouths?
I saw a post on reddit about the change and didn't buy the DLC because of it. That doesn't mean that I can't complain about horrible business practices when I see them. I'm not complaining because I want a refund, I'm complaining because I want some transparency from BHVR in the future. I like this game and want to continue to like it, but if they are going to do the bare minimum for their player base, I can't really justify buying more DLC. I'm complaining because I want them to do better.
But I guess this is the precedent we're setting. Players will have to go into every DLC purchase with the assumption that BHVR ######### it up somehow and they'll have to go into the patch notes to see how. The trust is gone.
I said "just" $5 - because that's what people are saying.. the amount is irrelevant because $5 to one person is nothing whereas to others it can be a lot of money.
I said "doing their part" because you keep saying they are only doing what they HAVE to do etc and that action will upset players.
Again you continue to completely absolve the buyer who couldn't be bothered to read about the product they were buying.
Anyways this topic is inane and ran its course - have fun - I'm out.

You're talking about obligation again. I'm talking about what they SHOULD do if they care about their customers. You seem more concerned with what they HAVE to do to avoid a fraud lawsuit. Legally, they have no obligation to keep the game running at all. They could shut it down tomorrow like they did with Deathgarden. Are you saying people wouldn't have the right to complain if they did that?
It would have been extremely easy for them to send a tweet or make the information more visible then burying it in the patch notes, but they didn't. They deserve criticism for doing so.
When I make a purchase I do a modicum of research beforehand... even if it is for "just" $5. You keep criticizing BHVR for not "doing their part"... guess what - consumers have a part to play as well - be informed on your purchases otherwise you just come across as a petulant entitled Karen.

They get free auric cells so they pay them a bit, but ok, that auric cells stuff is not significant.
You can't pay your rent with auric cells last time I checked. They also give them free codes for DLCs..Bloodpoints for PTB.. etc.. but that is not PAYING them. The value of what they get is limited to in-game items and has no value outside of the game. To insinuate that BHVR pays them is disingenuous at best.

The thing is, the only one who can say why it was removed is BHVR, and instead of a straightforward answer they gave a very ambiguous response. I'd appreciate if they clarified before I and others purchased the product.
THEN DON'T BUY IT.. Jesus H! If you don't have the information you want or need to buy something - Don't buy it. It's a very simple concept. Stop blaming others (BHVR) for you CHOOSING to buy something without all the information you apparently need or want beforehand.

Scott jund, otzdarva and over countless good players have said this, even korean dbd agrees as far as im concerned, perks that are too strong that reward bad gameplay, such as deadhard, oh okay you got hit? hes a free dash that isnt only a dash but also makes you invulnerable even if ur animation still hit??? lol what, is the entity on the survivors side? or the killers side?. Every match, i see borrowed time, Ds, Deadhard, all these second chance perks, and i as the killer use none, these shouldnt even exist, just make borrowed time basekit and leave DS, but Dead hard should either be removed or be a once per trial use.
Here is a saying that still exists a year from today:
Just pressure the Survivors, but make sure you never slug because they'll have Unbreakable, make sure you're never near a hook when a save happens because they'll have BT, make sure you never try to chase anyone for 60 seconds after they get unhooked because they'll hop in a locker and have DS, and make sure you never make a single mistake at a loop (or try to punish their mistake at a loop) because they'll just Dead Hard to the next loop. And make sure you're pressuring extra hard because they can just bring 4 green toolboxes with BNP and finish Gens in about 30 seconds.
Must be Wednesday.... eyeroll.

If it is temporarily removed due to game file issues or permanently removed due to licensing issues certainly would have an impact on if I give behavior my business.
Then don't buy it - that's your choice/right. I think it is pretty obvious from the wording - the voice lines will not be returning. They weren't removed due to a bug - because if they were it would be in the KNOWN ISSUES section. It's seriously not that complicated to figure out.
-
Ugh can we please get an ignore/block feature on these forums already.

Its frustrating that BHVR can't clarify/apologize and instead leaves us to debate the ambiguity of their statements.
Their statement wasn't ambiguous - the voice lines were removed. Pretty straight-forward. Your issue seems to be with the why - which frankly is none of our business and isn't relevant.
-
@Cerebral_Harlot said:

They said there were issues with game files, not that it was a licensing issue. A more straightforward and unequivocal answer would have gotten the point across more clearly.
Did you just visit thesaurus.com or something?? Your past three posts you keep saying "unequivocal" like that somehow "wins" your argument.
A corporation has no DUTY to inform you WHY a product has changed from pre-launch to launch - PERIOD.
It was clearly stated that the product was being released without the voice-lines - the WHY has no bearing on the product. You have no right to know the WHY - seriously.. you don't.
-
@Cerebral_Harlot said:

If they can't be forthcoming due to legal issues, then they can at least offer refunds to players who have. You say consumers have to right to ask about products they wish to purchase, I disagree.
In a similar vein, he only people who can clear up this issue is BHVR, and they haven't said anything.
- The patch notes stated there was no voice-lines. Read before you buy something
- They were forthcoming - they made that information available before the DLC was purchasable.
- You can ask - they don't have to tell you the explicit details - they gave what information they could or wanted to give - which was: no voice lines.
Get over it. Learn to ask questions or seek out information - whether you are buying a $5 DLC or a $50k vehicle. Seriously.

BHVR says they will not be forthcoming with any further information, even though they can clarify this by being straightforwardly truthful.
Ever think maybe they CAN'T be forthcoming? Jesus H. They gave what answer they either can or feel comfortable giving...period...end of story. You have no right to know the inner workings of BHVR or WHY the voice lines are not in the game - really you don't. They stated the voice lines weren't in the release - if you bought it without reading the patch notes - that's on you. If you had a question on if they would be returning - asking that question BEFORE you bought the DLC...is on you.
Look the OP asked if I felt players were misled - and I answered. No... I wasn't misled. I don't ever expect the voice lines to return. Had they been disabled due to a BUG - it would have been in the KNOWN BUGS section of the patch notes.
-
Nope. Nowhere do they indicate that the voice lines would be added back into the game. I don't expect the voice lines to return - I would had it been stated in the "Known bugs" patch notes.
If you have a question about something - you should probably ask that before you buy it...just saying.

Bro I'm at the point right now where I've given up on them never going to change and they always have millions of excuses for why this is happening but there is no excuse! You know they have a half a million followers on Reddit that will probably help them with these bugs but they don't use them they're too busy buying out YouTubers to tell us why they love the game so much... And companies keep giving them their license characters to destroy... Yeah I'm honestly giving up on them they're never going to change the game is always going to be bad I'm looking for the next horror game that I can leave this game and never come back someone watches this and eventually says you know what I'm going to make a better game than this and when they do I am out of here
I mean you can leave now...nothing stopping you. One look at your post history and it's pretty obvious you are not happy with the game.
Oh and FYI Fog Whisperers - do not get paid. You keep saying they pay "YouTubers" which is not true and I am assuming you mean Fog Whisperers - which is also not true. It's one thing to be pissy and mad - which you do a lot of - but try to at least stay somewhat honest when you rant.
-
I just find it funny that people who constantly complain about quality issues and bugs from BHVR - supposedly bought the DLC on release day.
Look here's the thing - I love DBD, but I also know that the past 4 or so Chapters have had major issues upon release. This is why I do not buy DLCs until after a few weeks/bug fixes have been implemented. The funniest part of this is I see people who have sworn over and over they will never buy another DLC from BHVR on these forums and Twitter - who allegedly bought the DLC and are having issues with it. I say allegedly because I tend to not believe most of these people because they like to exaggerate A LOT.
I am a completionist and will buy the DLC - in a few weeks.
-
Meh - I don't lobby dodge.
I've met some fun players who were meme'ing as the same 4 characters with 4 keys etc.
I'm not afraid of a challenge nor am I afraid to lose a match so I don't see the whole point in lobby dodging.

T bagging at the exit gate is toxic bhvr ans is reportable but you need to prove it so unless you register your game you have no way to prove it so reporting player is worthless
I mean you can report anything - but it is not an actionable offense. Nothing will happen to the person if you report it and do a support ticket... nothing. It's just seen as rude/juvenile or as people on here like to say (too often) "toxic" behavior. I just assume the person suffers from SDE.

Well the teabag wasn't really the point but the focus became the perks being a crutch for the one or two people and you say I'm proud for teabagging. I'm really like the audacity. You're mad I did something you didn't like but you did something that a survivor player wouldn't like. Sounds like you have no reason to be mad to me is what I expected convo to be and maybe some saying that I got carried by perks because that's usually what people especially those that mostly play killer latch to. Forgot to mention she had exhaustion hatchets so she had an answer to my perk from the beginning if we REALLY wanna talk about perks and whatnot. Also I like your joke yous a funny person.
I'm not mad - I just think your whole post is pointless aside from looking for some ego stroking. Congrats you used your perks and teabagged someone...
BTW these are your words from a previous thread on Aug 30: "Getting rid of one person before all gens are done can greatly turn the game in your favor and go from a 0-1k game to a 2-4k. Nobody really likes being tunneled or camped but as killer sometimes it is the only option to secure at least the opportunity to win especially on certain maps. Don't rely on it all the time but if you have to proximity camp someone on hook so you know where people are and to prevent a save at 2 or 3 gens go for it and you should do better after that"
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2463018#Comment_2463018
So a few days ago you say sometimes killers have to tunnel, but today you herald yourself as some type of great survivor because you teabagged someone who tunneled to try and get a win.. hypocrisy much?
I'm done with you and this inane thread.

Not proud of the teabag I hardly ever teabag killers because I know how it feels when you might just be trying to play for fun and enjoy yourself but with how hard she tried to tunnel me just because I went for it. The other people were on death hooks and she had two others she could've chased and caught. But my thing is how you gonna get mad I did something you didn't like in response to you doing something I didn't like?? You don't want me to cleanse your hex then don't bring one?? Its part of the game for me to cleanse it because it gives my team and I a disadvantage so why wouldn't I cleanse it??
Not proud.. yet you exclaim it in the title... uh ok. Not even sure what the point of this thread is except for you to get some stroking... sorry my hand hurts - not today.

I played a match without perks by accident. And I got tunneled by an Oni. So please give me all your wisdom of things you obviously have no sense for.
There's a flaw in your logic - The Oni had no idea you didn't have any perks so it's not like he tunneled you because you were perkless.
Killers tunnel people all the time regardless of whether they have perks or not. FYI playing perkless survivor or killer is a lot of fun imo.
-
As a 50/50 player I don't care if someone brings NOED. When I play killer - I never use NOED though because I would personally feel scummy.
Then again I don't complain about any survivor or killer perk, item, or addon used.
-
Perks I never use:
Hex: NOED
Decisive Strike
Deadhard

What is bothering me is the fact that if you play and win some matches with a meta build (full slowdown for example) you may lose the opportunity to play "fun build" with that killer because you will go against survivor that are at your "sweat", all out level and not your fun level.
But with that said i didn't play much recently so maybe i'm worried for nothing and there won't be many problem.
You can still play your fun build - what you are saying is: I wanna play my fun build and win. There's absolutely no guarantee you can play with a fun/meme build now on either side and "win". There will be nothing to stop you from playing your fun build with sbmm - except you.

Survivors have room to screw around with 16 perks in total, Killers are much more restricted imo. But both deserve better perks for sure
Contrary to the exaggeration of the forums - not all survivors play in 4 man SWFs. I have almost 1800 hours as survivor (1900 as killer) and less than 100 of those hours have been in SWF and NONE of them were 4 man SWFs. So no.. we don't have 16 perks - each survivor has 4 - hyperbole weakens your "argument."
