  • I think being taught the concept of how perks work in the tutorial would have been something I'd like to have known ,It was a real slap to the face once I got into the wetworks of the game and got me off put for a good while, took me awhile to understand how perks work and all of that jaz

60 seconds is huge when playing killer. For a full minute, a survivor with DS activated could do a generator in your face and get away with it especially if they use lockers. I mentioned this in the discussion. Also, the huge sacrifice is not that huge when you think about it. That is only one of four other survivors. As killer, your time is very precious and you can't afford to waste ANY time.

You can down them, then go after someone else, it would waste unbreakable if they have it, or force survivors to heal them up, which is still WASTED time, you guys act like as soon as someone gets unhooked you have no other option but to instant try and down and hook them again. THIS Mindset is the reason you people have issues with DS, it is counterable, it can be, and it's not that freaking hard, if someone runs at you to get it used, or jumps into a locker, just go somewhere else, you shouldn't have chased them in the first place, play smart and go after the 3 OTHER people in the game

  • Then can we increase the speed boost?

  • What about:

    "Desperate Measures"

You refuse to fail, even during your darkest hour.

Each time a survivor is injured, you see the killer for 2/3/4 seconds and for each injured, hooked, dying or DEAD Survivor, increase the speed of your healing, unhooking, and dying state recovery actions by 10/12/14% or 8/10/12%

If happens every 3-4 hours then how many hours a day are you playing? According to you it would be approx 2 DCs in 8 hours which would NOT end up with that long of a DC penalty. So no... your story doesn't fit with reality. If it is more than that... then why are you even trying to play when your internet is obviously acting up? If you are DCing more than your story then yes... stay off the game because you are truly hurting the other survivors.

I said "roughly" 3-4 hours, There have been times where it'll go off again after thirty minutes. I do 8-12 hour runs because I really enjoy the game. so it can have a 2-4 dc's a day situation in some cases if it really hates me. having to stop playing for days upon end to be able to play the game though is really starting to make it seem like this game really doesn't care about people who can't get anything better. You think I enjoy the internet going out? or that I haven't tried to get "better" internet? it's because I live in a city in a "high bandwidth" zone or some #########. I cannot control that. what do you suggest? "Just Move Lmao" this system could be worked better. especially when occasional crashes of the game cause DC's. and YES you CAN tell if the game crashes, the game itself has a system for it. if anything you can make a simple freaking NetVarHook in the game, so that if it opens up the crash report screen or it forces one open, IT DOESN'T GIVE A PENALTY, it's not that complicated.

  • TL:DR

The statement "there's nothing we can do to distinguish between a genuine internet issue DC and a ragequit" is false, unless you're talking specifically about internet being pulled. but there's an obvious distinction between the game sending a "quit" request and the internet just stopping. all games have this sytem in like. base code. so yes there is a difference.

But what something this game doesn't do that other with dc penalties do. is that usually first time dc's are ignored for that day

    EX:

    Everyday you get (1) DC.

The penalty is there to prevent people from dcing all the time. and most of the time now people just suicide on hook to prevent a dc ban.

but what happens if the server crashes, you get a cool-down/penalty , but you didn't disconnect, the server crashed. games understand when the server crashes, (Call of duty series is a great example, you cannot say there's no way to tell, there is.)

or you're in my senario, just occasionally your internet will go out due to you being in the inner-city, and every now and then it just, dies for roughly 20-30 seconds.

a 1 time free dc gives players the ability to get back into the game without major punishment, but it doesn't outright remove the penalty,

    lemme explain:

If my internet issues keep persisting, and my DC times get to be 72 hours per dc, and I have that one free dc, I get on to play a game after the 72 hours are over, mid game, going well, internet crashes, No worries, the penalty isn't stacked on because It was the first dc of the day, day goes on and I don't need to worry about not being allowed to play the game for another 3+ days because of something outside of my control.

Ragequit -> If you quit, you quit, once a day. everyone's human, and everyone has that moment when they're just done. I feel it's healthier if the game understands this, and doesn't slap you in the face because you're done for today, but oops. previous incidences from 4 days ago stacked up, and now you can't play for 3 days. w h a t

There's MULTIPLE ways this system can be improved. and although it "does it's job" show the hook suicide rates in comparison, does it really or how about when killers just go afk because they can't anymore. does it really?

refusing to make the results public doesn't help the situation.

at the same time. having a system that is die-hard punishing to people who don't have gamer-top-tier-145 mb/s internet, or internet that doesn't fail suddenly getting removed from the game due to an issue that isn't their fault is going to keep killing player counts.

It's not an unfair request to ask for the one free dc a day. I'm sure many people who have been in my shoes would agree this would be far, because it has these benefits

Pros: Innocent people who have the occasional DC/Crash do not need to worry about getting booted out of their game for how many days, or have to stop playing for so many days just to not risk getting booted off for more then 3 days.

People who praise the penalties for stopping DC'ing still have that feature, if someone uses it up, that's it. no more, next one just continues the penalty, it still prevents massive dcing, but it forgives the innocent people who just have issues.

In retrospect I'm surprised and disappointed DBDL didn't add this as it's main system. as I feel it would have caused alot less back-lash for the DC system if it was at least a little forgiving. and in the end if you wanna fix that problem, especially since everyone knows about the amount of bugs this game has. is being somewhat forgiving wrong? it's kinda ######### that a game that can be great uses this *guilty until proven innocent* mentality when it seems to forget that we're in a world where crap happens, and that not everything is malicious, and having a slight forgiveness can go such a long way.

  • @Mandy said:

The problem is regardless of the reason for your DC it's still ruining the game for the 4 other players...which is why we have the DC penalty to discourage people from DC'ing.

Sadly, there's nothing we can do to distinguish between a genuine internet issue DC and a ragequit - which is why all are penalised the same.

All I can suggest is to keep working with your internet provider to try to provide you with a solution as to why your internet is dropping out, and use an ethernet cable to connect to the internet as it's usually a lot more stable than wifi.

Unless my comment I Just posted got booted I'll type a reply, just posting this to be sure as I had a decently long reply to your comment

  • And they wonder why play numbers are going down, if they would stop trying to count the people who would just join and collect their daily then dc.

I can't play because every 3-4 hours my router decides to stop working for 30 seconds, (Usually, 3-4, it can be longer or shorter, some days it does it more then others.) but the penalties are going to stack to the point I won't ever touch this game again unless they add like a basic "one free dc a day" or something. so I can atleast get ONE game in.

  • @6yXJI0 said:

Another stupid excuse to abuse DC penalty.

I don't believe that your provider can't figure how to deal with your problem.

And if thats the case, then hell no i would want to play with you on my team, cause you can dc any second leaving us in a disadvantage.

Fix your net or don't ruin games for other players.

But your story sounds bs anyway, like all the others that want DC penalty removed. They are making exact same excuses.

Keep in mind, it's not an excuse, and it's not that I'm dcing every single hour, but every 3-4 hours (Usually, based on general testing) It just. "Goes out" The company keeps saying it's an area bandwidth overload or some #########, I don't freaking know, that or a "DHS/DNS connection issue" My point is, I'm not asking for it to be outright removed. I'm asking for like, either a slight decrease in the cool-down timer, or at least a basic 1 time penalty free DC a day, so atleast if it does happen in the time I play I don't get completely cucked for the next 3-4 days.

  • Mayhaps the best option is there's a "Repair Deffenciency" at the start of the trail, where until the killer gets into a chase and hits a survivor, the total time it would take to repair a generator would total out to be 120 seconds. afterwords a survivor getting hit would remove this debuff and the generator would resume normal repair speeds.

  • It's like this so you can't instantly cheese survivors, the main point of the power is to predict, it's not a guarenteed hit, you mostly use it to bait survivors not dropping pallets, not for gaurenteed hits.

  • Because of my keyboard being broken I've had to use a macro for a few months now and honestly I'd rather just have someone mod the xbox to have one, or buy one of those controllers that has a macro built in (I've seen em before, long time ago.) and just use that, personally it's easier since the whole DBDL Team owes me 70 bucks for a new space-bar, It's gotten to the point I can't even type normally without problems arising, I've had to go back and add spaces and redo words in this post a total of (36 times) since I've written this, I've did the number for this post at the very end after I finished counting. it's stupid. really. I wish they never had this stupid feature in the first place because they're costing some of us extra goddamn money to play their stupid game.

  • Yeah, There should be atleast ONE other option, whether it's just that it lasts until either you get caged AND OR hooked, or if it's on like a 2 minute timer. it needs to have another way though.

You realize that the reason that they don't use the other 2 states is that it benefits the survivors when you do most of the time. I'd be ok with providing another way to remove torment if it offers a plague like benefit for doing it. Otherwise I feel like that it's alright the way he is.

That's fine, but you still shouldn't just leave torment on them for the entire match to just loose those extra few seconds. I mean t he faster you torment a survivor and cage them the quicker you can get to chasing an other, and you can get hook states gone pretty quickly with doing this tactic, it just sucks that once you get torment it's "Hide or Die 2, Electric Boogaloo" even if you get it at the VERY start of the match, you're ######### until the end unless they cage someone or you get a hatch.

I feel like his ability to mini mori is a bit of his kit. He seems like he's in a really good spot balance wise and shouldn't be nerfed or buffed right out of the gate.

The Mini-mori is fine, It's just the free-mini mori for trails isn't, I want some counter to being tormented, like how the plauge has the foutains to remove the sickness that gives you broken, or the doctor has "snap out of it" it seems off that they can just sit there and farm you at the tormented level to have that free mori essentially 100% of the time. It'd be like doctor forcing everyone to tier 2 of madness so survivors couldn't snap out of it, making it way harder to focus because now you're affected by so much stuff for it and you can't help yourself.

I'm impressed with the depth of this post.

I agree the trenches last too long and have no counter

The torment should never have been left like this with no way to remove it

Imagine playing against a plague of which you could not cleanse, it would be extremely one sided.

I play killer and survivor 50/50 and I know that the trench gimmic is an awful idea that should have not been pushed into the game so underdeveloped

Thanks, I spent a lot of time on this, I don't post very often and a lot of my posts are usually rants, but I wanted to actively get information for this before I posted it. so I did my studies and gave the logical response of "Is this entitlement, or is this actually just being abused" and after consulting some friends and even one of the killers I went against Who was a pyramid head and 100% agreed with me, I decided to make this post.

  • ######### it, Not like they're gonna find me on the PC when I change my IP, didn't even link my steam account. the worse they'll do is slap me on the damn wrist for outright saying what needs to be said. Their mechanics suck, if they're not gonna fix them and keep them in which encourages players to break hardware, I'm not gonna follow those mechanics and I'm gonna use a workaround because I don't see them offering me the money to get ######### fixed.

  • I mean, I'll break that damn EULA if it will stop the game from BREAKING my goddamn stuff, do the developers wanna pay me the 80 dollars to get my goddamn keyboard fixed for their ######### mechanics they acknowledge and refuse to change, I'm not gonna agree to some ######### rules that force me to break my keyboards.

  • I think it'd be nice if you just hold it down yeah, because then you can't getup and leave your spot but it wouldn't KILL your goddamn fingers.

  • That'd still hurt my index finger, I've tested that before, I'd rather just have a mechanic that doesn't involve pain or I'm going to become a heavy advocate to creating a guide for new players on how to make macros just to fight back this stupid design

  • I mean, it's like NOED for survivors, Killers get a permanant speed boost and can one shot survivors while it's active, survivors get one health state a 5 second speed boost once it's active

both only activate if the generators are repaired

  • I think it shouldn't even be something we'd need a macro for, not even skill checks, just something to press a button to give up like, no one cares about your stupid fantsays to make us not have a cup of coffee or check our phone while struggling, that's how YOU want to play, alot of us don't want our fingers to ######### die because you can't code in the polite and reasonable way FOR the PEOPLE WHO PLAY YOUR GAME

  • Also I have a loud ass keyboard, the kind where you need to actually press pretty damn hard to type something, It makes noise and light taps don't do anything.

  • the point is, even if It didn't "break" my keyboard, it causes severe pain to my hands, and that's not okay for any game to be encouraging that.

  • I spent a total of 10 minutes finding the format to create that screenshot, and I think it fits.

  • This format will make sure, that the killer can't just chase the new survivor whom got BT, and was good at a loop or escape, get downed, and just g et hooked again, this way it will encourage the killer to leave them alone entirely until another survivor is hooked. This also would help with the last survivor in the game having DS if you just hooked the other survivor in the trail with them (assuming two other survivors are already dead)

  • But that specifically doesn't increase the chance of "ALL survivors escaping" that only gives one survivor a chance.. since hatch only opens naturally when one survivor is left into the match.

  • Here's what it needs to be personally, If we wanna fix this problem once and for all.

Revert the stun time to 4/4.5/5 Seconds. But have this be the perk's effect

    Rework.png

  • I'd also like a refund of the money spent on this game please.

  • Uh, Yeah, kinda, when it's my discord and they all pledge it I believe it

The "new player experience" is the reason this game lost so many killers to begin with.

The "new player experience" catered to survivors, it's the very plague that runs through survivor queue times on console.

The "new player experience" is the reason why so many people left.

This patch, these reworks are good. It's the reason why so many killer mains will return.

And the reason why a discord full of 350+ people will never return.

  • Litterally ^ Yeah, if this ######### isn't hard to fix, get off your lazy goddamn asses and ######### fix it already

  • I can get that, I used to play Legion and trapper, but I really don't see alot of 4man red rank swf, infact I've only ever experienced it once any time I played the game, Usually I saw a 2 man swf and that was it.
