Can killer get that, if they get looped for to long? Or when gens pop to fast?

If you cant handle defeat as killer go play solo queue survivor for a bit and see how enjoyable it is. Or better yet consider playing civ 6.

  • And yet Camping in Dead by Daylight is still happening on a regular basis.

  • @CyanideBlaze said:

I got camped four games in a row and it's absolute trash. Three times by leatherfaces and a fourth time by hillbilly.

I don't even DO anything, like I don't t-bag, I don't point or gesture, I don't do a single toxic thing and I'm out here getting camped every game--and I know it's not something I'm doing because they go on to camp EVERY person they hook.

One of the times it was a rank 18 killer so I was like "Yeah, probably just new/don't know" but the other two times it was a rank 9, 8, and 13 and you KNOW they know what they were doing.

I really feel like this ought to be a bannable offense. It just sucks to de-pip every goddamn time because I get camped to death, or to be unable to save any survivors because THEY get camped and tunneled to death.

Yeh its really frustrating. I think the reason so many Killers camp is because they are either lazy, or they dont want to get looped by survivors and made to feel powerless. As u know certain killers powers promote camping, ie Hag, Leatherface, Hillybilly. They really need to create a perk that synergizes well with borrowed time but one that applies to the person performing the hook rescue, as in the hook rescuer can take 3 hits before entering the dying state once the perk is active. But then they'd also need to remove the grab function when some1 is making a hook rescue. I've no doubt if they made this perk and removed the killer grab function for hook saves that camping would be reduced by 90 percent in Dead by Daylight.

  • Next time Bring a Tent: Anytime the killer is within 30 metres of a hooked survivor for more than 30 seconds Bring a Tent activates. Bring a tent has a cooldown of 20 seconds. After performing a hook rescue, any hit that would put you into the dying state does not.

"That oughta teach those camping killers. Why don't you go and pick on someone your own size?".

Couple this perk with Borrowed time to make killers salty.

I'm pretty sure keys cause some of the tunneling actually :)

LoL, ofcourse they do. My point is that survivors are more likely to bring a key if theyve been losing games alot. lmao

  • Dont even get me started on OP killer addons. Take a killer like clown, with no addons hes pretty bad. But give him that purpe addon with the finger on the image and he can down people one hit if he hits them with the bottle directly. How the FLIP is that balanced?

I don't see why you being so dramatic?

I'm trying to see your point. You think game is killer sided and only way to fix it is balance to survivor side? Or you think the game is fine because current keys make it perfectly balanced? And if devs nerf keys it will be extremely unplayable for survivors? Do I get you right?

What I'm saying is, the game is completely unbalanced. Certain Maps have so many tiles with safe loops on it and heaps of pallets, long t walls, jungle gyms. Others have huge open areas with nothing. The devs need to fix the maps so its balanced between killers and survivors. Also if a killer gets a hex ruin totem thats tottally hidden, how are survivors supposed to counter that? Aside from taking up two perk slots with small game and detectives hunch. Removing Keys is not going to make this game more balanced.

  • @kaeru said:

    Deal. I didn't tunnel anyway.

But when 2 survivors escape after being hooked twice, it feels like they robbed your victory. You probably never been in that situation.

Yes I have, I've been in situations where 3 people have escaped using a key and I don't complain about it because I play both Killer and Survivor. But you know what , I hope the Devs remove keys, so killers can get what they want, overpowered gen regression perks, all the tunneling they want now that DS is trash and no one runs it, and I hope survivors decide to play a different game so this game finally dies because it is has become complete garbage. If they really wanted to fix dead by daylight they would remove some of the overpowered loops so killers don't get frustrated chasing people for too long, shorten T walls, and Nerf killers Gen regression perks. But I doubt that will ever happen because the Devs dont have a clue about how to improve this game.

  • @ShamelessPigMain said:

Title says it all. I really don't want to promote another perk-versus-other perk kind of situation (like when enduring would pretty much negate DS so now both sides are just down a perk slot), but at the same time, I don't want to deal with NOED. Any tips?

3 options here, Cleanse the no ed totem, Leave your fellow survivors and exit through the gate, Uninstall Dead by Daylight.

got lots of drama going on, apparently, between killer and surv mains...

some of you think the game is killer sided

    some think its survivor sided

some just think both sides need work...

personally i think in general the game is survivor sided, the exception to this is with newer players, where killer usually has an easier time.

but what's everyone elses opinions? why do some of you think one side is heavily favored by devs over another?

why the drama? work together, make the game better for everyone, not just you, no?

It really depends on the map you get, whether the killer tunnels effectively , whether or not hex ruin is in an obvious spot, etc.

  • @Laluzi said:

I'm meh on this strategy. On the one hand, if you all run into the uncorrupted area, the killer finds someone fast. On the other hand, if you spend the whole early game hiding and the killer finds someone anyway, even if you immediately run to a gen, you wasted an immense amount of time and your strat returned no value. And if you do all successfully evade the killer for two minutes... congrats, you've accomplished the same thing as if somebody had found a hex totem in that time and basically nothing else. The killer has 3 perks, and got 2 minutes to clean up breakable walls and ID the map. Mega RIP if your opponent was a Hag or a Trapper.

I'm more of the mind that you should wander around the corrupted area doing any side objectives you see rather than explicitly hide. If the killer follows you into the corrupted area, everyone else is free to do gens. If not, free pass to do whatever.

Stealthing's super easy if you stay away from gens, but I'm not convinced it's worth it to stall the match for two minutes and cross your fingers the killer doesn't get a head start anyway.

Yeh fair enough you make a good point. Its just annoying coz this perk is used in like every game at rank 1 and has a clear counter, but whatever I guess Im just running to an uncorrupted jen like everyone else does.

  • @IronWill said:

People like you OP are the reason MANY of my solo queue games end with 5 gens left and everyone dead.

hehe, Im a rank 1 survivor bud, and I escape about 40 percent of the time, so no. and you all act like 2 minutes is an eternity. its kinda sad.

Doesn't the survivors icon light up in the HUD when they're being chased?

You only get a notification when the obsession is being chased.

  • @Mtom912 said:

because in pubs, i'm not going to try to just hide, do gens, and leave, getting chased is the fun part of survivor, i'm either going to go on a gen so the killer finds me, or just run at them

even then, immersing out corrupt is only works if all 4 survivors do it, otherwise one gets found, and no one is on gens, and there is 0 gen progress, and even then, there is still a chance the killer can still find survivors from knowledge of spawn locations, crows etc

Yeh I agree if someone gets found and no-one is doing gens, then the killer has the advantage. It really depends how long the team mate can last in a chase at that point. Its just annoying for a solo survivor. I'm currently at rank 2 and the majority of killers I play against use corrupt intervention or hex ruin, and I always see someone go to work on an unblocked gen only to get spotted by the killer and then downed in like 30 seconds.

  • To be honest I think most of the time this doesnt work is because most survivors are terrible at out stealthing killers. The reason I Suggest this is that I've seen it done in dbd competitions, everyone hides well and the killer doesnt find a single survivor and their perk is wasted. The problem with just going and doing a gen straight away is that the killers patrol perimiter is much smaller when corruption is activated making it easier to find someone working on an unblocked gen and someone ussually goes down before corruption is even used up. Meaning the killer has huge early game pressure. Most games ive been in where survivors just works on a gen while corruption is activated results in everyone dying. So wait remind why all your theories is correct. This coming from a guy who has 1500 hours in dbd.

  • To be honest I noticed this happening more against The Shape and Ghostface. Whenever I join a game I usually have the lowest ping, so......

  • @Yords said:

Without changing the core mechanics of the game, or changing how the game works entirely, you cannot get rid of camping, tunneling, and slugging or punish it. The way the game works just will not allow the outright deletion of any of the three strategies listed above. Punishing these strategies will also not work either, and they shouldn't be.

And no, adding perks that mitigate them will also not help since they can be abused and create imbalances. Perks like BT should honestly not even exist.

    • You can't implement a system that punishes killers for camping because they already are the killer is de-ranked the more they do it. Even then, they are few and far in between. It doesn't make sense to nerf it or get rid of it because it is generally a very bad strategy. If you die to a hardcore camping killer, it is safe to say that it was probably your fault.
    • You can't implement a system that punishes killers for tunneling because that is just straight up donkey doo doo right there, no offense to your donkey bois Karu. If you punish tunneling, you are literally punishing the killer for doing their job. That is like punishing survivors for constantly focusing on generators ("geN RuShInG"), it is dumb.
    • You can't implement a mechanic such as a free unbreakable for survivors to use if they have been slugged for a minute. It is one of the few strategies that a killer can use to their advantage and nerfing this would nerf all killers, and therefore encourage camping and tunneling more. And in the very rare circumstance that you are being slugged to death, you are only going to wait 4 minutes, it is not that big of a deal. Allowing survivors to get up after a minute would also encourage splitting up more since the survivor could get themself up without any help, therefore making survivors less dependent on other survivors.
    • Sometimes the killer has to resort to camping, tunneling, or slugging as well in some situations. Nerfing any of these strategies makes the killer helpless which should not be the case when you are playing the power role in this game.

So while I do think that you should never punish hardcore camping or tunneling, I do think that BHVR can encourage strategies that are more fun, as well as a whole bunch of other things.

They could somehow reward killers for 12 hooking survivors, they could (they need to) buff weaker killers to the point of "A" or "B" tier (and be fun to play as and against), they could also reward survivors more for playing better as well. Survivors could be encouraged to go for all kinds of playstyles such as taking aggro, doing gens, or (maybe, if done right) stealthing.

I think that survivors should be rewarded with more points. If survivors were awarded with more points for doing well, it would also make survivors feel much better if they died. If you do well all game and die, you still did very well, you just happened to die because the killer was good (probably).

    Thoughts?

Ive played killer for a few hundred hours and have definitely tunnelled people off the first hook before in order to make it a 3v1 as quick as possible and tilt the game in favour of the killer. A 3 v 1 is alot easier to win then a 4 v 1. But alot of the times i wont camp near the hook at all untill the gates are powered. Then there are no gens left to patrol. The problem i face when playing solo survivor is killers who camp around the hook on the first hook. Its not very fun. but alot of the times it due to the fact that all the survivors hang around the hook, so what is the killer supposed to do?

  • When I used to main killer the thing I found most annoying was actually flashlight saves and Pallet Saves, not keys. I mean you chase someone for a minute or 2 just to have their team mate save them and then like 2-3 gens pop. Pretty annoying.

The issue is, not everyone is going to be able to run Franklin's when a survivor pulls Plunderer's + Appraisal up their bum just to get like 5 purple keys out of the chests. And wasting a perk slot on Franklins just for survivors to not even have Plunderer's is essentially risking a loss.

Yeh thats a fair point , Killers have no way of knowing how many people are running 'Plunderers'. But the thing with keys is , unless everyone is around the hatch when you open it with a key, your screwing over the remaining survivors in the game and increasing the chances they are going to die. Plus, after the hatch has been unlocked it closes after like 12 seconds. I don't understand why they would bring an offering that makes the hatch spawn at the killer shack if they are just going to nerf keys. Doesn't make that much sense to me.

Too late, keys are getting reworked. Good riddance anyways.

Damn, I always thought Franklins Demise was a strong counter to keys.

  • Man I hope they don't nerf keys. Sometimes its really fun to go into a game with no items running Plunderers instinct , find a key and then search for the hatch if some1 dies. It feels like a more fun way to escape or something. But yeh I guess some Mori animation reworks would be cool. I feel like the whole trap on the head would look too brutal tho?

so tired of survivors taking my games hostage because two people died. they died! get over it and die with them, i want to do my next game.

if you can't fix 5 gens and then leave in 20 minutes then you don't deserve to get out, and if you want to hide in lockers for 20 minutes then you definitely don't deserve to get out.

    good lord.

am i fresh off the back of an absolutely rancid game where two survivors decided to take it hostage? perhaps.

    /rant

Yeh, this really does suck for killers. I mean, if you're having problems with survivors hiding in lockers you could run Iron Maiden.

  • Yeah I can understand that. For me personally some of the maps are so dark that I have to crank the brightness on my monitor and it ends up hurting my eyes after playing for a few hours. So its a welcome change from me.

The number 1 sign a killer may have NOED is pay attention to how they perform. If a killer plays badly there is 50% chance they may have NOED. Because usually most NOED users know they are not that good with a particular killer so they may use NOED if they know they are not good playing killers. The second sign is pay attention to how sweaty they play. Around 20% of sweaty users tend to use NOED. This is based on my experience from what I have seen in NOED killer users. My tip would be to rule out what they perks they have, so if you can add up to 4 perks then NOED is ruled out. Also I have seen a lot of wraiths, and freedy's and doctors tend to use NOED. Now my suggestion would be to use detective's hunch, and eliminate all the totems if possible. I can't tell you this has helped me in past prevent a couple of NOED users from activating their ability.

Other signs a killer may have no ed, they have no more than 2 hooks by the time end game arrives.
