wild how the game can detect and punish players for being "afk" when dying instantly to a hacker but there's zero in-game detection for… hackers

I sure love waiting 20 minutes for a game just to be kicked out and shown this. A truly fantastic experience, BHVR.
No kidding, I instantly re-queued and waited another 20 mins only to get into a lobby, start loading into the game and instantly get kicked because of an EAC error.
I've played 2 games of killer in the past 1 hour and 40 minutes

Killer queues are still upwards of 10 mins, almost been waiting 15 currently. Bots don't seem to have improved the times at all
-
I wish bloodpoint offerings had a separate slot, that way you could run cakes/puddings/streamers and a sac ward together rather than sacrificing the extra bloodpoints JUST to avoid certain maps
-
I just hopped on, queued killer 4v1, got a game instantly.
I've now been trying to get into a 2nd game for 15 minutes.
God I can't wait until 2v8 goes
-
I'm trying to play regular 4v1 as killer and barely managing to play 3 games an hour with these queue times. It's insane

Ya know, we keep hearing everyone playing against whoever they are but no ones willing to provide a show so the class can see undeniable proof...
This is an example of a game I played yesterday. I managed 4 hook stages. My build was Pain Res, Pop, Agi, Bamboozle.
Albeit, it's only one example, but 7/10 games I've played over the past 5 days or so have survivors using very similar builds
Extremely well played survivors, ridiculous gen efficiency, bodyblocking and looping.
I can't prove it is "high MMR", however with the extensive game knowledge and gameplay from the survivors, there's a fair assumption that can be made.

Doesnt mean youre high MMR. I myself have gone against several comp teams as well throughout my years of playing, but the very next game I can end up going up against a team with a combined total of 200 hours.
You cant cherry pick your games and think youre high MMR. Everyone wants to think theyre high MMR but its probably not the case for 99% of people
I don't think i'm cherry picking my games, this has been a relatively consistent experience for the past 4-5 days.
There have been some weaker teams, but I'd say 7/10 games consistently have survivors who display high levels of skill when it comes to coordination, looping, gen efficiency on top of full meta builds and map offerings

Why don't you make a map offering? At least you'll have a chance to go where you want. Or a Sacrificial Ward?
About half of my Killer games are Sabo squads so I always assume that's what I'm going up against and adjust my perks according.
I honestly forgot about sac wards, good shout

I really don't understand this. You're winning matches over and over so the game puts you against teams that are also trying to win with every tool they have but you don't like it if there's opposition?
It's not a case of "disliking opposition" - it's a case of feeling like you have zero chance to win to begin with
-
@DeBecker said:
Any proof to claim being at high mmr? I guess not.
There's never going to be proof, but you can make an assumption based on the skill level of the players you're against - especially considering I played against a member from the best comp team right now (Eternal)
-
I play killer mainly nowadays and the event is just ridiculously sweaty, I can't recall an event being this bad for a long time.
There's zero point attempting to play the event because gen speed is ridiculous and you lose way too much pressure doing anything event related.
I've probably played about 25 games of the event and only had like 3 or 4 enjoyable games overall
-
I'd say about 65% of my games have someone giving up on first hook. It's ridiculous
Hopped on to play 4 games of Larry.
Same survivor gave up in 2 games straight away, 2 disconnected, and another gave up on first hook. There needs to be some detection system for this bs
-
+1
Most fun I've had on DBD in a long time. I really hope they listen and keep it permanent
-
I mainly seem to be getting more FPS drops whereas I never got any before. Like i'll drop 15-20 frames and feel the difference
Haven't had any crashing issues though
-
I don't see where his strength is, unless you're going against bad survivors.
When you're against good players, you have one opportunity to injure them with UVX after Weakening them, otherwise you have to re-weaken them because the Weakened is already gone. You have no room for any kind of mistake against good players.
Directly impacting them/hindering them is a joke. It does almost nothing, and the fact you can directly hit them whilst Weakened and it may not injure them is absurd.
The teleportation aspect is very good. About 30 seconds per teleport and you can somewhat control where your hallucinations spawn by holding your power, once players get used to this it could make him strong.
His UVX really needs to be re-tuned and given some buffs because it's currently very weak. I personally feel I can down people quicker with half of the killer roster than I can with this killer, so it leads me to wonder why I should play this killer
-
Something has definitely changed or broken, my MMR as Wraith should be super high but the past few days I've only been going against what I feel like are new players/very low MMR players
Same as survivor, I'm going against killers who have no clue what they're doing
-
From gen kick meta, to gen regression meta, to gen block meta
I hope they don't take another 6 months to nerf Grim + DMS, as someone who mostly plays killer nowadays, it's busted and solo queue surv will be worse than ever
-
The only two for me are Artist and Skull Merchant
Xenomorph might be a 3rd

Because the killswitch doesn't remove it from the game entirely, it removes it from being accessed in the menu. It would be near impossible to implement that.
All they need to do is remove flashlights from the chest loot pool. If it's so easy to add firecrackers to them during events, surely it's just as easy to remove an item
-
Because instead of putting a complete stop to a gamebreaking exploit, they're just limiting it so it doesn't happen as often.
Very logical choice from BHVR as usual.
-
I made a post yesterday morning before the patch that got removed within 5 mins saying "Which irrelevant killer that should've been untouched is going to break this update?" and sure enough both Pinhead and Legion have game-breaking bugs, one causing crashes and the other who can't start a chase with survivors. lol
-
Genrush is the sole intention of finishing generators as quickly as possible
Though a decent amount of the time, they may get 3 gens done in one chase but they often make a ton of mistakes later on which still causes them to lose the game. I don't know whether it's because they're less skilled in making logical decisions with unhooks/chases but I tend to notice the mistakes more often nowadays
-
Are there any updates regarding this? It still remains an issue over a month later
-
"until the DEVS add a system where you don't face the same killer all the time"
this'll never happen as queue times would skyrocket, especially at high MMR when most of the time you only see the same 5-6 killers for the most part
-
Yup, I just played five games in a row as Wraith and had 4 DC's and one person give up on hook - all of them giving up or DC'ing on their first down or simply because they got outplayed at a loop
It's happening with at least 1 survivor every 3 games at this point.
-
He's fun to play but also very frustrating to play. I've put a lot of time into him and gotten him to P28 but have pretty much given up on him until he gets some QOL changes.
I've given enough feedback over in the Feedback section, hopefully we'll see some more changes soon but I'm not betting on it.
-
It was just okay, for an anniversary chapter definitely underwhelming.
I was expecting more after the disastrous Knight and Skull Merchant chapters but I guess I had my expectations too high

So when are pain res and jolt getting nerfed? I see these perks in 90% of my lobbies, they also have an higher pick rate according to Nightlight. By your logic these should also get nerfed, right? Or does this only extend one way?
Not necessarily.
Made For This has very little requirement for huge reward with the 3% movement speed bonus - all you need to do is become injured.
Pain Res is dependant upon RNG and which hooks become Scourge Hooks and you still need to spend all that time chasing, downing and carrying the survivor to the hook. Some games you may only get 1 token of value from it, or none at all.
As for Jolt, it has a radius limitation and you need to down survivors in the radius of progressed generators.
So whilst in your experience you may see Pain Res and Jolt in almost every game, there is much more effort required and many more limitations and restrictions with these perks that make them much more balanced perks in comparison to the infinite 3% movement speed bonus from MfT just for being injured.

I don't think you're alone. Once I had Lery's and RPD games back to back as Singularity I just gave up. Overcharge isn't even that impressive for the amount of effort it takes to get a single survivor infected long enough to teleport to.
the Overcharge mechanic is pretty easily countered in chase by just pre-dropping the pallet before he gets there because even with the crazy pallet break speed, on a lot of maps they'll still be able to make it to another loop in time.
that reminds me of another issue I have with him, sometimes the survivor will be infected, drop the pallet and be on the other side, you'll teleport to them but it won't actually break the pallet like it should and instead it just teleports you to their side - it doesn't happen too often but it's certainly frustrating when it does.
-
It'll be nerfed, just not for another two years.
It's funny - Thanatophobia was nerfed just 2 weeks after it's buff because it was seen it almost every lobby and was "overperforming" - yet, almost every lobby I'm seeing at least 1 or 2 survivors running Made for This and we've still yet to see a nerf.
About 1 lobby in every 10 I don't see it used. I sure wonder what the pick rates are for MfT.
I genuinely don't understand how people say they can't tell when survivors are running it, to me it's blatantly obvious but I do have close to 5k hours, perhaps the people who can't tell don't have as much playtime?

Because this perk is not as problematic as you think?
In my experience there's many occasions in matches with survivors who run it who would've gone down if they weren't running the perk because the extra 3% just allows them to reach the pallet, even following them as tightly as possible around the loop. It results in huge timewaste for the killer and results in loss of hooks.
I'm seeing at least one person running it almost every game, sometimes even two

Made For This is something we are going to be monitoring, for right now we don't feel that it needs much change - it will continue to be monitored over the coming weeks.
Interesting that some of Singularity's add-ons got nerfed when there were almost no complaints about them, yet Made For This is blatantly an issue and has hundreds of complaints yet nothing has changed...
-
I completely disagree.
There's still quite a number of things that contribute to his weaknesses.
Placing of biopods can be VERY hit or miss. Think you can place a biopod in that position because the indicator is blue? Move one pixel in any direction and suddenly it turns red as soon as you shoot and doesn't allow you to.
You can see 80% of that survivor through the fence? Tough, unless you can see them 100% with no obstructions, you're not infecting them.
You want to try teleporting to that survivor? Let's try shooting a biopod instead.
Oh, you've walked away from the hook and decide to check a biopod? Here's an obnoxious 5 second cooldown and slowdown when you come out because we think you're still camping.
Even with his manual quick pallet breaking speed in overclock mode, there's still a ton of maps where survivors can make it to another pallet before he can catch up.
He needs quite a few QOL tweaks to be in a better position. Don't get me wrong, he's better than he was before the EMP nerfs but he's still not fantastic imo.
-
Seems like it's a widespread issue, many people on Twitter and YouTube are also having the same issue
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J4QmFZjx3nY -
I'm still playing at the moment but I always hover between 1.75M and 2M for PTB purposes
Plan is to get 1,000 cakes on Wesker (my main) and then 500 on some of the other killers I enjoy playing like Wraith, Oni, Pinhead, Nurse, Singularity
I already have 120 BPS ready to go on Wesker too lmao
-
@Mandy said:
The Mastermind is not going to return prior to the event starting no. Unfortunately the fix requires more time than that.
So pretty much Wesker mains are going to miss out on like, half of the event.
If only every patch something completely unrelated to the new content didn't break.
Unbelievable.
-
I'm having the same issue - was playing a match as The Singularity on Ormond, alt-tabbed out whilst I was waiting for the survivors to leave, tabbed back in and noticed my game was also 1/4 of the size in the corner of my screen and couldn't get it back fullscreen. Restarted the game and ever since I've had the exact same resolution bug where everything is incredibly high quality, almost like all the textures are in 8K.
I too play on a 4K monitor and previously played at 125% resolution (modified in GameUserSettings) on Ultra at 120fps with zero issues, however since my resolution has bugged I now have to play at 65% resolution instead. Now, playing at 100% resolution with the same settings tanks my FPS down to between 60-70 in the lobby alone.
I've tried reinstalling the game, deleting all DBD associated files, updating drivers and nothing has fixed it so far.
I run a RTX 3080 with a Ryzen 9 5950X, if that's helpful information.
-
Ah yes.
New killer easily countered at every opportunity by EMPs and now my main gets killswitched.
Loving this chapter so far.
-
Somehow I hit the pallet instead of hitting her...
-
There's a lot of things wrong with solo queue, Demogorgon isn't one of them - in fact I don't even remember the last time I played against a Demo
-
This still remains an issue btw.
-
They need to just bring back BBQ bloodpoint bonuses with how often the matchmaking incentives just... don't work.
I've been having the same issue since the recent bugfix update, not a single game has provided me with any bonus. Playing on Steam and in the UK.
-
It's now been 48 hours, still broken.
-
The DC penalty is on - I got a 1 min timeout for disconnecting from a game earlier where I hit a survivor at the start of the match and they immediately stood still, gave up and disconnected. Was my first game on and I couldn't be bothered playing a 3v1
-
As another update, I'm still not receiving any matchmaking bonus. +50% on killer right now, yet getting nothing. Any idea what could be happening?
I'm on Steam and in the UK too if that's any help

Deathslinger

Pinhead

I have like three different builds I run on him:
Loadout 1 is Enduring, Shadowborn, Floods of Rage and Lethal Pursuer, based on no gen defence and more "fun" - addons are Chalice (Gold) and Leather Gloves
Loadout 2 is Call of Brine, Eruption, Pop and Nowhere to Hide, I usually resort to this build if I'm on a streak of bad games with the first loadout - addons are Egg (Gold) and Leather Gloves
Loadout 3 is Pain Res, Dead Man's Switch, Enduring and Shadowborn, a nice mix of both builds above, half meme/fun and half gen defence - same addons as the 2nd loadout too
-
How were you blocked in the gas station? There's an open back window and completing the gen opens up the garage door?
