  • Spirit is the only killer in need of a nerf imo. Everyone else is at a great spot

  • I'm fine with them keeping the licensed sets linked (though it'd be nice not to have them linked), but anything non-licensed should not be linked

  • Yeah, i've been experiencing this too. My FPS drops to like 20-30fps for like 3-4 seconds, happens about like once a minute or every 90 seconds. Didn't have this issue before this update.

  • For the first like, 1 minute and 45 seconds, you had very little pressure on any of the survivors, at this point only then did you decide to commit to a chase. One person was disarming traps before this, but you'd find another, then leave them about 5 seconds later. That's a huge amount of time to have very little pressure, whereas you could've committed to a chase on one of the survivors you found earlier on, potentially hook them and start getting slowdown with PGTW.

Sure, the first 2-3 gens might've gone flying if you did commit to an earlier chase, however this then gives you further pressure and buys you time for the rest of the match, with one person potentially being hooked, one person having to go for the save, and then you'd be able to find and pressure one of the remaining two survivors who should be working on generators at that point.

Usually when I play Trapper, I place 3-4 traps at most (depending on add-ons and where trap spawns are on the map) and then i'll start looking for survivors and place further traps after I get hooks throughout the game

  • @WeenieDog said:

I feel like the only time you're really getting punished is if you break off a chase to kick a gen instead of going for the down. It also doesn't counter pop, you can still pop it right after.

Right, but with the stun and the damage animation in total means you're then spending 7 seconds total at the generator if you do decide to kick it again after the stun, which again, isn't a huge issue if it only happens once in the game, but if it does happen like 3-4+ times because multiple people are using it, that's going to stack up a lot.

  • My first game on as Blight (the killer who I 4K with the most) I got a 4K with 11 hooks with survivors only getting one generator complete.

Last time MMR was active I was having incredibly sweaty unenjoyable matches, this time it's the complete opposite.

Need to hop on a survivor game too tbh

  • If people want their voices heard, they're not gonna stop.

  • Won't happen because of favouritism and the close relationships between BHVR and some of the Fog Whisperers unfortunately. I'd love to be proven wrong.

  • At this point I feel like the devs are trying to just remove Tru3 from the community entirely and censor anything to do with him.

  • See y'all in the next thread...

  • Agreed. There's people much worse than Tru3 who shouldn't be Fog Whisperer, which, i'm not gonna name as without a doubt i'll be censored and banned indefinitely.

  • Probably the generator completion noise

  • I don't really play Claud nowadays but here's a screenshot I got back when I used to play on PS4 in 2019

    Hell yeah.

The God Pallets and In-door features of The Game.

The Massive size of Mother's Dwelling.

The impossible to patrol, multi-floor gens of Haddonfield.

They've done it. They've finally created the worst gameplay experience imaginable.

It's definitely got a few god pallets, but there's definitely a lot of unsafe pallets where you can get some easy free hits at too.

The one thing I absolutely despise about playing the map so far is how far apart the gens are from each other and just the constant ability to be able to lose line of sight and hold W to counter a lot of killers, chasing survivors is rather frustrating on it.

TBH the anniversary event is probably going to continue to remain a copy/paste bloodpoint fest + crown. More emphasis on Halloween/Patching their Anniversary release Killer.

Yeah next year will probably be blue crowns or something lol

  • Perks haven't been shown on stream yet, these were the notes I gathered about the killer's power.

Power is called T-Virus special ability is a special tentacle, able to infect survivors, infected will be sick, vomit and coughing, vulnerable to next attack which will damage them, each infected = more reach (?), limited vaccine quantity to get out of infection for survivors, assisted by AI characters (adding zombies to maps), survivors can get bitten and infected by zombies.

If anyone else wants to correct me on anything or add anything to the above feel free

  • Right. If they can't even get a simple chat filter to work and the anti-cheat just doesn't protect the game from hackers whatsoever then I can't see how they're gonna make a functioning auto-ban system... kinda worrying

  • Thanks y'all, ended up buying the WD Black SN850 and just redownloaded the game to see how long the installation would take. Ended up only having to verify after the download and only took 1 minute 46 seconds which is awesome, now I won't have to be waiting forever for updates every time haha

  • @Shroompy said:

    nah its still on

I just tested a bunch of phrases that used to get blocked, including swear words themselves and nothing gets blocked for me

  • I honestly wouldn't mind if self-care was buffed to a 24 second heal instead of 32.

Paired with Botany it'd take you just over 16 seconds, the standard time of a medkit, to heal yourself.

Yeah, you basically get unlimited standard medkit heals, but you're also using half of your available perk slots.

  • @IronWill said:

I only see 2 people using it tho? No reason to slug them all to death.

Two had breakdown. One had No Mither meaning I could not slug that person. The final was bodyblocking.

I HAD to slug two people to death because I could not carry them to a hook due to them having permanently broken the hooks using the exploit.

The No Mither is the scummiest thing about it because they knew EXACTLY what they were doing and EXACTLY how it would turn out. I barely even made the hook with her

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Isn't OoO nerfed lol? Why would you complain about it?

Honestly forgot about the nerf, in the games I played it didn't seem much different

  • On Midwich where the drop is on the second floor to the exit gate, you can get across to the other platform with Blight's dash

  • Wonder how many matches in a row it's been without a mori...

You guys give up so easily don’t just stand there report the bug and tell them this needs to be fixed

Why do you think people give up so easily? Nurse has been bugged for years now, but apparently her fatigue cancel which was pretty difficult to execute in the first place takes priority. BHVR are a ######### joke when it comes to bugfixing.

  • McLean's stream feels the most welcoming. Queen I don't watch too often but she likes Scratched Mirror Myers, Peanits very rarely streams, and Almo... yeah I could say a lot but i'd probably get banned

  • Commented on the wrong post, oops

  • Usually when it comes to Lery's or Hawkins, I either have an amazing match or a completely terrible match, there's not much in between. I am a Blight main so I am used to these maps at this point, here's two cool clips I got on Lery's

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fkwENAwu2TE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kQ-QEicsrME

  • Yeah I noticed this too. First the atrocious addition of breakable walls to every reworked map, then the monstrosity of The Game with it's billion god pallets, now this. They need to hire a new level designer.

Just watched your stream dude. Your opponent was terrible because they keep diving into basement save while u r not even 16 m away from basement. Feels like they don't really want to escape but farm

Not to mention they only did like three generators over the course of about a 13 minute match when he's running no gen defence. Yeah, they're pretty terrible if you ask me. For the first like 5-6 minutes of the match too it seemed he was proxying hooks a LOT which would've given the survivors plenty of free time to do gens too

DUDE you are doing it wrong.

You have to save MAIN EVENT for when all 4 survivors are grouped up near each other in a deadzone and you can down them all easily.

Just watch better players than yourself get 4k's with him, its that easy.

How can you tell someone they're doing it wrong when you literally don't even understand the killer's main event?

You CANNOT save Main Event. You have like a period of 7 seconds where you're forced to use it or it's taken away from you until the next time you earn it.

GOOD, run something other than Decisive Strike/Unbreakable/Iron Will/Exhaustion Perk or BT.

I usually only run one or two meta perks, those being BT and/or Iron Will. Besides that I sometimes run Spine Chill and/or Resilience, or Prove Thyself, Windows or Kindred.

  • This happens to me sometimes mid-chase, my mouse will sometimes suddenly stop and I can't look around for about a second. I thought it was just my mouse having issues but now I realize it only happens on DBD and not any other program

    Passive-aggressive? LOL ok.

Your initial post insinuated that toxicity is a survivor issue. I stated it's an all-around issue. I also stated to simply turn off end-game chat if you don't wanna see it. You then went on to use your hours played as justification for anecdotal reasoning. I again restated to turn off chat since you obviously haven't if you are experiencing so much toxic EGC as to drive you to come post about it. Of course there are 4x as many people playing survivor - that does not mean that there is 4x as much toxicity coming from survivors - that is a flawed assumption.

I can say in my 4 years of playing I have reported three people for end game chat that goes well beyond typical toxic chat - 2 of them survivors and 1 a killer. As a streamer I have banned more killers who come into my channel than survivors though. This again is purely anecdotal evidence though and amounts to nothing I would ever make a supposition about or try to pass of as anything other than what it is. Maybe instead you should have made a statement that was more broad based and didn't try to paint survivors as the causation of what you perceive to be an increase in toxic end game chat.

I never stated it's specifically a survivor issue like you're saying, I literally started off my initial response with "not all". I also never 100% said there IS 4x as much toxicity coming from survivors, I said "there's very likely more toxicity".

Also, I hope you realize i'm not the original poster of this thread and I myself never said there's an increase in toxicity.

  • @PotatoPlayer said:

I wish people took more screenshots of the post game chats to show what real toxicity is like. I think that's better than anecdotal gameplay.

Hell, gameplay is gameplay. Trash talking chat is unnecessary.

    image.png

Luckily this doesn't happen too often and I did make a report of this, but just an example of real toxicity.

  • @Jasix said:

Well with that 1700 hours you should know by now that you can disable chat. So maybe take a proactive measure and disable it? That's like complaining that people in a bar swear and yet continually going into said bar. Not sure why you think saying you have x amount of hours is something aside from anecdotal evidence - I recently hit 1500 hours and even when I have chat open do not experience much toxic chat - but I can say with certainty I have seen a lot of that chat aimed at survivors from salty killers. Instead of continuing to allow yourself to be treated to toxic chat - do something about it - and by that I don't mean infer that survivors are the root of toxicity in chat when both parties share in the guilt of such behavior.

This seems like such a passive-aggressive reply for some reason? I was just responding to your already-sarcastic comment of "let's insinuate that all toxic end game chat is caused by survivors" and sharing my own experience of toxicity. I'm fully aware you can turn chat off.

The fact that there's already 4x the amount of survivors there are killers should indicate straight away that there's very likely more toxicity going to be coming from survivors.

  • It feels like there's been a huge lack of communication from the devs over the past 6-12 months. Maybe it's just me, but they seem so distant from the community it's unbelievable. They're just kinda doing whatever they want it seems like

  • @Jasix said:

Yes let's insinuate that all toxic end game chat is caused by survivors... that seems productive.

Don't wanna see stupidity in end game chat - turn it off - it serves no purpose anyways.

Not all, but in my experience, majority of the verbal toxicity/abuse comes from survivors. I play 50/50 and have over 1,700 hours on PC, and it's very rare I get a killer who is verbally toxic in end-game chat.

  • @NVerde said:

I don't understand why killers complain that survivors use every advantage they can and use meta perks...like, what do you expect them to do? Just sit around and let you kill them?

Very puzzled with why there's always so much hate for DS too considering it's a one and done, it usually only comes in handy if you're being tunnelled, and if you don't like it, it's easily avoided.

As someone who plays both sides pretty equally, the verbal abuse i've received over my playstyle or perks as killer has been 100x more than what i've received as survivor (which is like, nothing at all) and i've been playing September 2018.

So when you try actually switching up your build and then you see survivors constantly using the same DS + Unbreakable combo and want to go back to your regular meta build as killer, you've gotta be prepared for verbal abuse in either post-game chat or DMs.

if you can't take an L and only have fun when you get 4k's that's your problem. soon you'll lose enough that it will adjust your mmr into lower ranks and you can have fun again.

I can take a loss if it also meant I had fun that match.

The issue is, if i'm not having fun, it means I have to constantly keep losing again and again whilst not having fun at all until i'm at a lower MMR where I can have fun.

Not everyone is going to want to play to lose to not have fun just to lower their MMR.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/235811/playing-killer-with-mmr-has-to-be-the-most-unenjoyable-experience-in-the-past-6-months

You are not a r1 killer then. The current system is flawed and everyone is disillusioned about their own perceived skill

I feel pretty confident in my skills with Blight.

If I do have a high MMR with Blight, and MMR is working correctly then i'm also going against high MMR survivors.

Against high MMR survivors where there are likely to be more occurrences of SWFs, only Nurse and Spirit can compete.

  • @Marc_go_solo said:

I like how you kept this very factual and didn't show bias to your thoughts on MMR; just showing the data.

On balance, it appears like overall it's okay. Do you feel it's balanced better than the current ranking system?

I think I prefer the current ranking system that's in-game at the moment. Sure, you can get red ranks who are boosted and play terribly, but I feel the current system is more consistent with similarly skilled teammates and killers. With this MMR system currently active, as you can probably tell from the extra notes I left, I experienced a bunch more tunnelling and camping than I do with the current system and I believe if this was a consistent occurrence it wouldn't be too enjoyable from the survivor side. The skill level of other players in my games seemed to be constantly up and down with not much consistency.

I need to play some killer games too, i'm planning on playing 10 games with Blight (my main) to see how the survivors play, and another 10 games of killers who I don't play too often to see if there's any notable differences but i'll probably do that in the morning.

    1. JRM - Has a ton of fun as survivor and isn't outright constantly toxic like other players, besides Tru3 he's probably my third watched DBD content creator.
    2. Scorpionz - Probably my second most watched DBD content creator, from him I learned to play without gen regression perks like Pop or Ruin and still found out most games I do just as well, and if i'm not doing as well then i've learned to play harsh in the right situations, like pushing someone to second stage or death if i'm not in the best of positions
    3. Scott - He's not the type of person I necessarily enjoy watching stream, but I do love his YouTube content.
    4. Umbra - Honestly Umbra has an awesome community and she just has a fun time playing the game, love the vibe of her streams and community.
    5. Tru3 - Whilst i've moved away from watching Tru3 a lot in these past few months (besides the odd YouTube video of his and his weekly compilations) I have to give him credit for being one of the first streamers i've watched who taught me a lot about mindgames and best perks to run. I do feel though when I watch him I tend to take the game way too seriously when I play for myself, hence why i've moved away from watching him a bit.
  • Love how this got moved to Feedback & Suggestions when I just opening up a GENERAL DISCUSSION.

  • I know the clip you're on about, I ######### hate people like that, they can't use "I was drunk" as an excuse really when they literally call themselves a "Toxic DBD Survivor Main" in their bio too.

Always found it super strange how people can be happy and proud they're making other people's experience awful. Of course they were using the most crutch build too in the clip

  • @Dabihwow said:

Oh I don't mind, mostly, although, I faced one streamer who was a fog whisperer, was kinda an antagonistic ######### of a survivor. they literally lolled me and honestly it surprises me that they are a fog whisperer to begin with. I won't name them however, but it is very tempting.

I don't suppose you happened to morph as the killer did you?

Where did you see that in the video? I looked 3x and couldn't see that happen.

At 9 or 10 seconds, if you turn volume up, you hear someone fast vault on the right

  • That's your teammates fault. The Nurse might've just been casually moving at the start, but because your teammate fast vaulted a window literally seconds after being able to move she blinked over towards both of you because she knew someone was there

  • Against solo survivors, I think it's more killer-sided.

    Against a 3 or 4-man SWF, it's a ton more survivor-sided.
