  • Hope you somehow find a solution here with the ticket. :(

  • Ngl I just thought that it was the best render of the map they got.

I never expect the actual shipped result to be 1:1 the picture. But that's cuz I'm used to FFXIV photography and reshade filters lol.

I feel like its not gonna be that bright once it's in, but what do I know

  • ^

I never question the cost of nodes in the bloodweb, it's just a means to level up and advance. And it's nice to have cheap stuff I can throw in the offering pile without much thought, hoping it'll add a little bit more bloodpoints than an offering-less game.

Though now that I think about it, I play /horribly/, so I doubt I ever make back the 3k bp for the matching emblem lol. Nothing but bronzes and silvers out here haha

  • Unrelated to most of the discussion here, but as someone who plays SWF with pals who don't know where totem spawns and don't make totems a priority when we're all trying to do different things, I appreciate the idea behind the change aha

  • I seen one! My friend thought she was Clown lmao.

Best I got is me playing Bunny Feng lmao.

  • I think on the forum, most people who prefer buffing the solo queue player than the killer. I'd agree with them.

Killer already comes with perks that helps them play against all survivors, and even communication can't overcome killer skill. SWF comms offer SWF advantages, while solo queue has to go without em. I'd think solo queue could use more of a buff than anything, if a buff was needed.

  • After finding the DbD discord, I'll never have to solo queue and potentially get paired up in a 'every man for themselves' kinda game. I'm happy to suicide in SWF even with strangers from the discord, but not with strangers straight from the fog.

Hatch just feels and looks so selfish to me. It's hard not to attempt some griefy behavior when you see someone across the map WAIT for your death and not do a thing. If I'm on hook, sure I'll just stop struggling just to move on to my next game (what is 1min and 200bp for struggling vs one full game?), but if I'm slugged, you bet I'm crawling away and looking for it myself even if there's no chance I'd find it lol.

  • Bought a higher spec PC for other games/reasons, upgrading from a 5yr old laptop. It coincided with me playing DbD more often and it feels great! Especially with controller on survivor.

    Welcome to the master race!

  • The real competition is DbD vs other asymmetric 1v4s.

Without genre competition, I doubt DbD would be any sort of experimental outside of this formula.

  • I never seen mercy kills, only on YouTube. Maybe when I'm solo and doing some challenges, I'll go ahead.

But I feel like the people I'd do that for won't realize the kindness. Not that they're entitled to it nor am I doing them a favor, but I rather not give my game to a killer without some sort of acknowledgement of thanks. I'm already sensitive enough LOL

  • It takes me forever to even get 1 level of rift. It requires me to sorta play well no matter what. Playing well /every/ day for 70 days, or playing enough to compensate for not playing well, is difficult for me. Maybe not for others. And for those others, rift pass works for them.

Though I'm the kind of person who'd never buy a season's pass for any game. It's not my demographic. I'd imagine season's pass is for people who are more dedicated to the game to consistently get the levels. It'd probably be nice if they tweaked the pass to be more achievable or desirable, but eh, BHVR works in mysterious ways

  • As someone who's met their end against several Nurses and Spirits lol...

Definitely try to think like a survivor. Think about what they'd try to do, and what that means for you. If we run, we leave scratch marks. If we hide, we're around some corner or we might make some grass move. If there's work to be done, we'll be working on a gen, and if you just got to one that is partially done, we might be nearby.

I feel like Nurses and Spirits have a lot to gain by trying to intuit what survivors do. That'll tell them where to go and what to pay attention to.

  • There was this one time where I suspected this ghostface really hated my friend lol. He was the only player in the team playing a man (Bill) while us other 3 were women. The ghostface first found me, but let me wiggle out free and didn't try to kill me again, just look at me and walk away. Then somewhere across the map he focused on killing Bill and just Bill til the Entity got him lol. The rest of us 3 got away.

We joked about that game once, then moved on pol.

  • Only reason why I don't run BT is because I didn't find it on bloodweb or cuz I'm not good at figuring a good time to make a save lol. And I'm absolutely atrocious at escaping after the rescue.

But I'd love to set up one of my characters to be a bloodpoint pony with WGLF and BT. I like doing all things altruistic lol.

  • I guess I'd understand why there's killer lock if MMR is killer specific. But dang did I run into a lot of Nurses and Spirits when I started lmao. What was the point πŸ˜‚

  • I'd probably do a bit of killer just to farm bp and have fun with the survivors, but the sound of toxic people (and how ferociously bad I am at controls) doesn't seem pleasant.

So kudos to you all LOL.

  • My Feng Min can do y'all a coffee run. A nice espresso with a shot of whatever the Blight's having.

  • Idk, there's a ton right and a ton wrong with facecamping...

Right: It's a good strategy for newbies or struggling killers, forces them to either grow up into better strats or lose the other 3 survivors, it allows for player agency to not have official rulings against it

Wrong: it sucks for the survivor, and if the survivor suicides it reinforces bad behavior, and it feels like bullying despite being a tactic

Most have learned to deal with it, as a game should -- games and it's players should shape the meta. That's why people talk so much about BT or DS or Kindred, mainstay perks in the chance that the killer poses that kind of a threat.

I feel bad for facecamp victims but it is what it is, especially if BHVR takes the stance that it's valid.

  • I'm curious about Home Sweet Home and other similar asymmetrical 4v1s (my friends had mentioned Foglight and Devour), but eh, I already *have* DBD, am used to it, and have fun with it. I'd rather spend $30 on cosmetics for DbD than take a chance on a $7-20 game and possibly not play it ever ever again. (here's lookin at you Phasmophobia)

Besides features, you'll need PEOPLE to be attracted to the game. Whether that's streamers or individual gamers that would be genuinely interested in being part of the playerbase. And people are unpredictable, idk. It would be good for another game to have differences to DbD to be more attractive, but who's to say people will actually LIKE it, much less stick around with it?

  • Idk why killers feel compelled to say gg ez after a 4k.

Now, I'm the type to be black and white -- if someone thinks the above is justified, then everyone will think some sort of toxicity is permissible. I'm also hella 120% sensitive special snowflake and rather not have anything said to me but nice things lol. So I just leave.

The amount of people literally staying in this forum's end game chats to trash talk is astounding. I just leave instantly, staying around is like inviting stress.

  • Can confirm that I use spine chill as one heck of a crutch. Going without probably will have me die a lot faster or run straight into the killer like a chicken with its head cut off lol.

A lot of pros can do without. It's amazing what a good ear can do. But I take it with me if I don't hate myself and wanna have a chance at building distance between me and whoever wants to chase me.

  • I used to play almost nightly with my friends. Now it's trickled down to just me and 1-2 others if I'm lucky. :(

...I was gonna buy some auric cells for cosmetics too... 😭 I wanted to play dress up but they're all off hunting in MHR.

  • What helps me is thinking each game is expendable, or that each game's purpose is for bloodpoints. Don't think of winning, just do what you think is right lol. For me, I like unhooking people and doing gens, but for others it can be escaping on their own or hiding. (and I'm at low rank, where people don't really make high level moves to ensure team victories)

In your case, sometimes it's hard to make a turn around especially if you still have 5 gens left and the killer is constantly after you. I personally make healing a priority no matter what, because I personally think it helps, and also some other teammates might not think the same so I might be the only person willing to heal in a pinch lol. Then do what you can: do gens or elude the killer.

  • I'm sorry for your loss.

  • I'd love to see the other ones! Seeing this new chapter makes me think we have a new map, but we don't :(

    20% killers

    80% survivor

There are 4 times as many survivors as killers, you comment is entitled and makes no sense. Believe it or not, ( but I'm not 100% sure ) I think there are more toxic survivors that killers.

Believe it or not, not every player in DbD makes it to the forums LOL.

It makes sense that there's a lean towards survivors, but this forum is not representative of 100% of DbD's playerbase. Ask everyone their ranks and you'll see there's quite a lean towards red ranks on this forum, and you can't say most DbD players have the same distribution.

  • Killer: don't play, cuz motion sick

    Survivor: 10-11

Honestly a fluke, I don't wanna be here haha

  • I'd stop playing because I get nasty motion sickness in 1st person. :( it's why I don't play killer, and I don't think the perk that widens FOV would help either.

if this was a toggleable thing or a mode on its own, maybe. There's even a funny YouTube mock up of a 1st person survivor in midwich, have you seen it?

  • I've had a few afkers, less than before the MMR test, but I didn't know they afked for shards.

  • I was wondering why I couldn't heal a random last night lol. I thought it was because I had self care messing me up, but I was literally plastered to this guy and the prompt wouldn't pop.

It's his power that allows camping to be so easy.

He literally forces survivors to play like total selfish A-holes or sacrifice themselves to save the hooked one (most cases both may not survive without BT).

His squeals are obnoxious and not to mention BMing hooked survivors with his hammer.

What a tragic cycle from a real cool villain...

This honestly makes me feel so bad in solo queue lol.

With my friends, they understand, we work together to get our alive. But when a random gets camped, I feel guilty that I'm leaving them just because that's the best shot the rest of the team's got.

As far as Bubba goes, he's cute when he nods. That's as far as I'll go.

  • I don't prefer one over the other. But whichever is easier to manage, since idk what goes into securing a license.

  • Less Spirits in the fog mean more fun games for me, thank you for laying down the armblade πŸ˜‚

  • Agreed with everyone else on solo queue survivor < killer < SWF (and << aggressive SWF lol)

If my solo queues had any sort of comms.... It'd be just as toxic as aggressive SWFs to their poor killers lol. But the comms convey tons of information that can help me plan accordingly, before and during a game. What the others are doing, where the killer is, suggestions on what to do next, etc.

Is the game meant to be played that way? No, probably not. Does it give me an advantage over other solo queue survivors or killers? Totally.

Play on my nintendo or just browse the forums until i get into a game.

just a thought, u dont earn anything from it besides practice, but why cant we just practice skill checks in the lobby or something, something small, a good little time waster. maybe even have a challenge while u wait, hit 10 great skill checks in a row with the skill check going backwards? ehhh just me?

Speaking of, I found a couple of sites to practice skill checks, https://dbd-stats.net/skill-check from this forum, and http://www.mistersyms.com/tools/gitgud/ from Google.

I guess a neat practice mode isn't a priority for BHVR. I can understand why and it seems like it's not in their nature to dev something like that. But from a player experience pov, it'd be nice.

  • Spirit. Everyone I can understand how to play against em, but not with Spirit.

I accept the mechanics of other killers. I know that things get harder with Doctor's insanity, or that I have to run around inconvenienced with Pig or Plague's stuff. But Spirit I feel like I'm not sure what to do still, because no matter what I do, Spirit is ahead of me.

I accept all my deaths equally on everyone, except Spirit cuz it's like ugh lol.

  • At 10-11, I match up with 3-4s and good killers over THE WHOLE RAINBOW. Idk where y'all get potato killers at lower ranks, I miss them lol.

My SWF sorta evolved over dozens of games. Watching a video on looping here and there helps, but it's moreso trial by fire.

  • I heard of the official DbD discord and people playing in the vcs there?

Though honestly I never tried, I'd be interested but I'm really bad at the game LOL.

  • Can someone help me with counterplays for Spirit? I do wanna know these guides on how to get better against her. I don't really know how spine chill helps me any better with her, knowing when she phases or not doesn't help me figure out how to be productive while she's prowling. Am I supposed to stay still and quiet? How do I do gens if she's always phasing?

Any other killer is easier to play against, because of spirit's tells during phasing. I know WHEN she phases, but not on HOW to go about doing objectives when she's busy phasing.

  • @OniWantsYourMacaroni said:

    Did i miss something?

Man I wanna know too. Someone point me to the newest notes or something lol.

Also, if I offer up macaroni and cheese to all the killers, would they be nice to me LOL

  • If you care about bloodpoints or pips, I'm guessing you'll have to fulfill the other emblems that aren't stealthy to get more. I noticed that I get many more points in games where I get chased for a long time, whether or not I get out alive, vs escaping with stealth (and my perk kit is pretty selfish and stealthy).

But if you don't care too much about that, like me, then I don't think your build is bad. Chases make my heart beat so fast I need to catch my breath hahahaha -- and my fun time trumps my personal rank or bloodpoints.

  • As a survivor...

    Favorite Killers:

    1. Plague (pretty model)

    2. Huntress (I like her mask)

    3. Myers (silly boi)

    4. Wraith (even though all bell bois camp me it seems)

    5. Idk, uhhh, Trapper?

    Least Favorite Killers:

    1. Spirit (y'all spirits sweat like its hot outside 😭)

    2. Legion (zoom!)

    3. Bubba (huuhuuhuu)

    4. Pig

    5. Hag

  • OMG this necro LOL

do reports not work on toxic players though?

  • I don't play hard, but I feel like all Spirits are NFAs. :( Hadn't figured a counter yet.

  • I never tried windows store/game pass, but I don't see why not.

On the flip side, I have a friend who doesn't use game pass much enough to justify keeping the sub, but our friends play DBD way more often (over any other game that game pass has). He got the game on Steam when it was on sale, and it probably works out better than having to sub to game pass indefinitely.

  • I agree that player agency has a lot to do with it. Especially for new killers, they gotta start somewhere, and that's why facecamping is a tip in the tutorial.

As a survivor main with Kindred 100% of the time, I empathize big time for facecamped people. I saw it maybe one every 5 games at yellow ranks, and am proxy camped every 4 games. It sucks, but as a survivor main, our only agency (ESPECIALLY if you're facecamped on first hook and no one rescues you, so you can't use your perks lol) is to decide whether we should stay or not, until a teammate comes for us (or not).

In choosing to struggle or suicide, we quicken or delay our next game in which our circumstances are different. And more often than not for me, they ARE different, so it encourages me to dwell on a sucky game with a facecamper and move on.

  • You can do this rn by slugging!

I like the spirit of it, and can prolly be done by killers who don't care too much about getting a 4k.

  • Ngl keys don't help me whatsoever, I somehow never find the hatch with or without em LOL.

I'm rn in the process of prestiging, so I have lots of items and add-ons to burn. That's the only reason why I bring keys (and flashlights) haha. Never get to use em, really.

But from what it looks like, the killer tries to kill me as usual, or knocks it out of my hands, so pretty much what the others say.

  • The sooner I get thru my 3 prestiges with my favorite survivor, the sooner I can get over losing my event items, among other things I didn't end up using.

I do regret not gunning thru my prestiges during Gilded Stampede though haha.

  • I love this concept low-key LOL

But I love any fun that doesn't skewer me and just gives me a 'gotcha! silly survivor, Trix are for kids!'

Ah man I wish I could find a group and killer that could commit to this haha
