  • Yup, i'm in UK and tryna get on the game but am just stuck on Checking Platform Services.

    image.png

  • Most Attractive Survivor: Feng. She's just cute and has some awesome cosmetics which makes her look even better

Least Attractive Survivor: Quentin. Until he gets that face rework he's ugly af

Most Attractive Killer: Probably Susie. She just looks the most attractive, second most attractive maybe Huntress?

Least Attractive Killer: I'd probably go with Hag too

  • Killers: Nurse, Huntress, Doctor, Blight, Pig, Ghostface, Demo, Oni, Pyramid, Wraith

Survivors: Dwight, Meg, Claudette, Jake, Nea, Ace, Feng, David, Yui, and Kate

  • Yesterday (the 5th) I was having a ton of fun playing killer.

Today (6th) almost every game had a Rank 1 and it felt like I was constantly getting 3 man SWFs all day. It was horrible

  • I just played a game as killer on Badham like 20 mins ago. A survivor got unhooked and immediately ran towards me to unhook the second person i'd hooked, I waited for her to start the unhook animation before I downed her and re-hooked her. Check after the game and sure enough she had DS, so I bet that caught her off guard lmao

  • I've criticized the devs a lot with the recent updates and said "i'm not even excited for the next chapter at this point" which is true to some extent, i'm not super excited but I am looking forward to it because it's fresh, new content. Without fresh new content the game would get very boring very quickly.

People are allowed to criticize something they feel is bad whilst also being excited for new content.

  • Four kills, or three kills with last getting hatch.

A draw for me is two kills.

One kill or no kills at all I see as a loss.

Unsafe Loops are fair loops. IMO there should be a little bit less Pallets and way more unsafe Pallets, this would result in Killers not being forced to break Pallets immediatly and Survivors not running out of Pallets because that Rank 12 Meghead threw every Pallet in 2 minutes.

But for that, Bloodlust needs to go. A unsafe (or fair) Loop means that both players can play it. I can drop the Pallet at an unsafe Loop and run the Killer around, faking a vault which might allow me to gain distance. This is not possible with Bloodlust because at some point (even Bloodlust 1), the Killer becomes too fast to do that. So the fair Loops becomes unfair because the Killer gets a Speedboost for not being able to outplay the Survivor and just circling the Loop while pressing "W".

Some Loops are too unsafe, e.g. Hawkins loops are just "respect Pallet, get a hit" for the Killer. But something like the outside Loops of Badham are pretty fair.

And during the Bloodlust experiment, most of the time as Killer or Survivor I did quite well at such kind of Loops. But I also got run around the two Pallets next to the School on Badham by a Survivor, I was not able to get her - because she was better than me. And it is ok that she is better than me, it would have been unfair if I would get a Speedboost because she was outplaying me.

You think the speed boost from Bloodlust is unfair when you're being looped at a building that has one or two god pallets?

Bloodlust 1 needs to go as well. Once it kicks in, unsafe Loops become totally in the Killers favor, despite them messing up. Bloodlust has no place in this game anymore.

If a loop is unsafe, isn't it already in the killer's favour because it'd be really easy to get a hit? If the survivor stays at the unsafe loop after taking a hit, that's their fault for not using the speed boost from the hit to run off elsewhere.

Bloodlust will only work at unsafe loops if they're already injured from earlier on in the chase and then ran to an unsafe loop. If a killer has to spend 15 seconds at an unsafe loop where it's already easy to get a hit anyway, they're just a bad killer.

  • There are still some ridiculous loops on maps that killers NEED bloodlust at. For example, the atrocious back to back tile setup in the middle of Suffocation Pit, as well as the middle building on Father Campbell's Chapel. Some long fence loops still spawn on Haddonfield too at times, good luck catching up without it.

Your comment about "Both reward the opposing side for being bad at a chase." is ridiculous too. That suggests that you think anything longer than a 15 second chase is the killer being bad at a chase. Also, for survivors, it doesn't reward them for being bad in a chase necessarily. They could be an amazing looper, but make a simple mistake and fix it by using Dead Hard. Doesn't mean they were bad in the chase at all.

You're also forgetting that Dead Hard also gives invincibility frames as well as the distance. Bloodlust JUST allows you to travel slightly quicker, which again, at some loops is DEFINITELY needed. Good players will typically use Dead Hard for the distance because it's the most efficient way of using it, weaker players will typically try to react at the last second, and if they're successful, the i-frames prevent them from going down, if they're not successful, that's when they'll go down exhausted.

Not to mention, you don't instantly have Bloodlust as soon as you enter chase. You have to wait 15 seconds, up to a total of 45 seconds before you reach the fastest state of Bloodlust. With survivor, you're going to regain your Dead Hard very easily when you're working on gens, meaning it's most likely going to be available ready for the next time you're injured in a chase.

I'd be fine if they removed Bloodlust 2 and Bloodlust 3, because once you reach around the 35 second mark in a single chase, that's when you're starting to risk losing the game because of one chase (if you're against good survivors).

  • This was my first assumption too, would be crazy

  • It's happening to me too right now on Steam. Just finished a match, searching for another one and first got Connection could not be established and then got the DeadMatch error.

Really not been a great past few weeks for BHVR.

Just as i'm typing this I got DeadMatch again. ######### my life.

Finally in a lobby again now.

  • @GannTM said:

You know what I realized, if there are two killers in a match and one was Trapper, what would the animation look like if another killer stepped in a bear trap? Especially if it was Nurse because she floats.

    https://youtu.be/CeASjhRovF8?t=186

They get stretched upwards if they're a shorter killer, lmao

  • The amount of hackers is rising in DBD.

The issue is - nothing can be done unless EAC do something about it. Sure, you can go through the timewaste of reporting these hackers, but it's very easy for them to use a HWID Spoofer and be back in no time at all. That's why you see those hackers on Twitch with 50/60/70+ bans.

  • Today, but I hadn't played for 2-3 days before today.

No kidding, first game I got stuck in the spectator screen too. A bug that was meant to be fixed in 4.5.1.

As someone who's been playing since early 2018, I can safely say this is the worst state I've seen the game in.

Yeah, i've been playing since September 2018 when it came out for free on PS Plus and it's pretty close between the current update and The Twins release that are the worst state i've seen it in.

  • @Rivyn said:

Almo probably looks at the statistics and says 'Nurse if fine, move along.'

What even happened to him? He hasn't streamed DBD since the incident and immediately removes any mentions of the game in his chat. Wonder if he got fired? It does still say he's game designer in his about me though so i'm super confused what's going on with him

  • Yeah, I don't see much reason for the killer to be able to hear it, maybe for the visually impaired?

As Survivor it's nice to know that the flashlight is starting to blind them though before the beam starts to narrow, helps save charges too if you don't hear the sound start

  • Yeah, i'm really not enjoying the game much as either side.

I'm not even remotely excited for the next chapter, because as history has shown, the PTB will probably be a ######### mess and 90% of people will stop playing after 24 hours and then it'll come to live being still super buggy with probably even more new issues than the PTB.

The game needs something new, not another chapter. Give us new gamemodes or something to spice up the game with. It's funny, they asked if people were interested in new gamemodes in the player survey then proceed to tell us they don't plan on adding gamemodes in the recent Q&A. The player satisfaction survey is practically pointless.

Events are boring now, I get they said they wish to focus more upon Halloween/Anniversary events as actual events, but still, no earnable cosmetics, it's all about money. 50K BP for logging in each day, boy how generous, I can get myself maybe one free bloodweb each day in this obnoxious grind of a game.

They rework some new maps, which whilst they did a good job with Asylum, The Game is absolutely horrible with so many god pallets and safe pallets in general, it's like the level designers don't even play their own game. The breakable walls are so annoying to deal with too.

And then you have a Lead Community Manager who literally lies to the community. Just when you think the game is going in a good direction with recent balance changes, it suddenly does a complete 180 and goes downhill again. No apology either, just "WE HEAR YOU LOUD AND CLEAR", well, maybe you should've listened from the PTB.

  • I don't know if his view has changed by now, but I remember Tru3 saying (I think in the past 12 months) that Freddy should be able to teleport to a generator at the start of the match... always disagreed with him on that, it's like resetting your start position every trial and choosing where you start pretty much.

I'd say Freddy has more skill than say, Myers for example. With Freddy you kinda have to figure out good spots to place snares at loops, with Myers you just stare at a survivor then get your ability and one-hit down with M1... Myers has to have the most plain and boring power in the game.

  • I think even the Tier 70 charms aren't that great in the rifts... like give us a super cool exclusive cosmetic set or something that won't ever be put in the store or something, not some charm that i'll look at once and forget about instantly.

  • LMFAO this was me, I even made a thread just after that game ranting about the map.

This clip is funny to watch back but man playing that was SO triggering. You have the two god pallets above the bathroom, then you have two next to the basement, you can sometimes have the ones on the bottom floor behind the stairs spawn, some of the upstairs pallets by the stairs have barricades around them now so you're forced to break the pallet unless you walk all the way around, then you have the stairs in the corner of the map which lead up and there can be another god pallet there too, and there can even be one behind those stairs as well, then you have the square room (at 36 seconds in the clip) where there's yet ANOTHER god pallet, then the chase leads into a jungle gym pallet, it's like when does it end?

I do admit now, my comments about whoever designing the map should be fired were probably a bit too harsh, but it was moreso heat in the moment and with how terrible this recent update is and with how many bugs i've experienced it crosses a line at some point.

  • @Zeus said:

There's a leave button on the top. Is it not working?

Nope, it does nothing. Even waiting for the EGC timer to end doesn't pull you out of spectator. It's insane

    1. Moreso survivor sided, i'd say like 60:40.
    2. Typically make it to Rank 1 both sides every season.
    3. Around 2.7k hours across both PS4 and Steam.
    4. I main Yui as Survivor and have been running BT, Kindred, Windows and Alert for the past couple of weeks. I've been playing a lot of Blight as killer and usually always bring BBQ and run no gen defence (besides Corrupt on setup killers like Hag, Trapper or Demo). I play all killers but some I play less are Myers, Hag, Hillbilly, Oni, Deathslinger and Pyramid Head.
    5. I'd say I play both roles equally, although it may become 60:40 for one side or the other at times.
  • They have HWID Spoofers, meaning they'll just get a new account and do it again and again.

  • They asked about new gamemodes in their recent player survey, then said on the Q&A update they have no plans for new gamemodes. Completely pointless even having included it in the survey tbh

  • Another case of something completely irrelevant to the update breaking. Actually unbelievable lmao

  • Yeah, can't wait for the PTB before the chapter for them to just take zero feedback into consideration and nerf an already mediocre perk again!

Not excited for the next chapter at all.

  • Lead Community Manager and is literally ######### lying to the community.

    So sad.

  • I'm from UK playing on Steam and I seem fine

  • As a Yui main I was disappointed in her outfit... not the best imo.

I love Trapper, Billy and Legion outfits though, they're great.

Also love the mini Yui and Oni charms, along with Yui's motorbike charm too, those are super cool.

Everything else is whatever for me, one of the better rifts though so far imo

  • I haven't had much issue playing Asylum as either Survivor or Killer... besides the breakable walls.

The Game is far worse. There's like 8 God Pallets on that map now with like another 8 safe pallets. As Killer it's horrible and as Survivor it can be just as horrible if the breakable walls are still there. I think The Game might've been the worst map rework they've done yet. Visually it looks amazing, but gameplay is horrible for both sides in my experience.

The Devs have finally started to be more open to listening to the community insulting them/ asking someone to lose their job is just going to make things worse.

Well the ignorance towards feedback of the HUD shows otherwise.

It's one of those things they'll ask us about in a survey and never reference again. Remember a survey about what we wanted in the Tome last year between Tomes 2 and 3. Whatever changed from that survey? Nothing.

Let's just hope they learn their lesson and listen to the community. We want it changed back as soon as possible.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1928114#Comment_1928114

They do but when the whole community bands together to complain they usually at least acknowledge it.

In the recent player feedback survey they also asked something about whether new gamemodes would interest players, yet in the Q&A recently they said they have zero plans to add new gamemodes.

    @Echorion

You can’t see who is injured as killer?

I was on PTB but only as survivor.

With the current UI, you're very clearly able to tell if they're injured.

With the new UI, their icon very faintly glows red and... that's it. It's just a pain to tell if they're injured or not.

Stick to survivor then fam. You’re farrrrrrrr too sensitive for killer.

Yeah, maybe I should tbh. Just sucks as most of the time survivor queues are between like 3-10 mins and the more killers that switch sides or quit playing the longer those queues will get. Part of the reason why I play killer is because of basically instant queue times no matter when

  • @EvanSnowWolf said:

I play Killer and I've never had this reaction.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1921177#Comment_1921177

If a few annoying window vaults make you wanna quit on the FIRST game, maybe you shouldn't play Killer. I get the "I am gonna vault the same pallet 50 times in a row" guy all the time. I just ignore them. Hell, I LOVE when they do that. It means that they are not on a generator or pushing an objective. If all they wanna do is throw up loud noise notifications I can ignore, then by all means. It's almost as good as a free slug.

"If all they wanna do is throw up loud noise notifications I can ignore"

If i'm in a chase with someone else whilst these loud noise notifications are going on, it can be very distracting trying to track the survivors moaning through walls of loops over that loud sound. Can also mask any grass sounds that survivors make by crouching about too.

  • The point wasn't to prove I play a lot... it was to prove that I play both sides?

  • @Jamlpr said:

Your average killer main on this forum. These people are too sensitive to play this role. They should find a SWF and stick to that.

    Next assumption?

Also I love how you assume i'm a killer main when in the actual post I literally said I was having a ton of fun playing survivor... did you even read the post?

    image.png

  • ...yes. it's my first killer game of the night, i don't fancy going in straight away having to deal with people who are attempting to ruin my experience and annoy me. if it was my 3rd or 4th game in, sure whatever i very likely would've played it out, but it left a sour taste in my mouth considering it was the first game of the night and i'd already had some rough killer matches when i'd played much earlier on in the day.

  • @Shirokinukatsukami said:

What's the problem? If they want to vault spam just run over and hit them. If not ignore them, they're not doing gens so hit the one that is.

As I mentioned, one of them ran straight to Killer Shack once they heard me coming so I didn't want to waste time chasing there. If I ignore them, that means they can just create loud explosions in my ear every two seconds. Yes, they're not doing gens, but that harms other gameplay too because I can't hear as much because of the explosions.

  • @Waffleyumboy said:

Just kill them? If the survivors are annoying in my experience it just makes it more satisfying to watch the entity devour them.

I didn't want to give them the attention and let them potentially annoy me all game long. Especially on a map like Azarov's with a killer like Clown who'll suffer due to poor mobility.

  • @EvanSnowWolf said:

I don't see what ruined the game for you.

The fact that it was my first game of the night playing Killer and first game there's already survivors being annoying? Just went straight back to survivor after that.

  • my killer queues are pretty much always less than 30 seconds. it does feel like over this past week or two survivor queues are slowly getting longer and longer though

  • Deathslinger and a good Nurse. Besides that, I like playing against everyone else

  • LOOK SEE THEY'RE EVEN MAKING SPACE FOR HIM IN THE STORE

  • @Mr_K said:

Welcome to dbd. Be happy you're not playing Nurse where you get the blood wipe and fatigue.

Oh, I had probably the worst experience playing DBD in a while today.

I experienced so many bugs, grab bugs, Nurse's blink bug which spazzes out, Blight sliding off half of the objects on Yamaoka, slugged survivors making zero noise and probably some other stuff I forgot about.

Really makes me wonder why I still play killer.

I meant, who's quote is this?

"In situations where the Killer has a poor connection to the server, the server will step in and evaluate their hits to make sure that they are fair. If it is determined that the hit only landed due to the Killers weak connection (I.e. The Killer and the Survivor were too far away for the hit to land), the hit is rejected, and the Survivor does not take any damage. In simple terms, the player with a poor connection is at a disadvantage, no matter which side they are playing."
