It's happening to me too right now on Steam. Just finished a match, searching for another one and first got Connection could not be established and then got the DeadMatch error.
Really not been a great past few weeks for BHVR.
Just as i'm typing this I got DeadMatch again. ######### my life.
Finally in a lobby again now.
I'm getting Error 1008 on my Xbox Series X
I think something done gone broke on the Xbox side (they have that message at the top of the forum about crossplay being disabled too).
The dead match is a separate error which is occurring, it will let you in to a match after re-attempts.
The 8,001 error is "Cannot connect to online services" - looks like someone at DbD has stood on a cable & went for a nap
I was trying to get in a match everytime there is an 8001 error i try a second time i get dashboarded its ######### ridiculous they need to fix that ######### real ######### quick

And goddamn the loading time is ######### ridiculous
Got one game in on xbox. Then couldn't connect. Then completely froze. Restarted and 10 minutes later i can click survivor and 5 mins after that i am looking for a lobby.
And then i got the 8001 and game froze again. Guess i will try again tomorrow
