Honestly as a killer main how much help does someone need??? I couldn't see my self needing THAT much regression help. And I have a lot of time invested into the killer side of things. Now i am not knocking anyone who uses this combo but i would just like to see thoughts on this from fellow killer players.

Add in BBQ for your killer who can traverse the map quickly and you finish matches like a steam train.

  • @C3Tooth said:

I like to play immersive, at the start if the map is indoor and Corrupt is up. I love the feeling searching for another Gen while hiding from killer's terror radius.

I actually use Corr because I think people would like the same. Since Ruin is more overrated

    Exactly.

Survivors can render the perk almost useless if they stealth around and search for totems, mentally map out gen locations & safe loop locations. However, a lot aren't that smart and/or just too darn impatient.

Honest evaluation time! What rank do you think you should be at based on your skill and gameplay?

The pip system fast-tracked me from rank 20 to rank 8 in a matter of days. I'm sure I'll be back to rank 1 by the end of the week. But if the system was an accurate representation of skill and gameplay style I'd say I really belong at rank 10-12. Somewhere in the green ranks.

I can have good chases and some pretty decent saving plays but I regularly like to help my fellow Survivors escape and then throw myself on hook for struggling Killers, I like to play fairly altruistically, I get bored more often than not in sweaty rounds. If my fellow Survivors are pretty much out the door and the tea is ready/cat needs fed/whatever then... shrug... Yet casual as I am in this game I just fly through the ranks. 🤣

Survivor - probably rank 3 with improvement needed on looping to extend chases.

    Killer - rank 14

  • Solo queue is just a ridiculously frustrating experience.

Most of the time (80% and above) your biggest opponent is not the killer but your fellow survivors.

Every one always hates the player but not the game. I've come to realize when you have a compatint lobby with a good connection everything just comes down to the map its not all "oh this killer needs a buff or this perk needs a nerf" sometimes the games decided before it even starts. it's just down to how many things are there to run circles around, where Df are these hexs gunna spawn and how many of these random warehouse pallets are going to appear.

I was thinking There should be some sort of pre game set up where the killer can see a map layout an pick hex spots while in exchange survivors could do something like roll a dice for #of pallet spawns (would go great with luck addons) or choose indavidual spawn locations on a blacked out map (shroud addons would go good w this)

Alot of games have a pre game setup phase an I think this would bring alot of balance to the game giving pepole more strategic options and increse player knowledge as a whole.

Nothing to do with the maps.

They aren't actively played by someone with a brain.

Then again, neither are most survivors.

Yeah, which he can't do if the survivors are playing safe. It's literally his number one most important bit of counterplay.

Safe survivors means no gens getting done. Win for Oni

  • @DecisiveDwight said:

Obviously they give everyone in the match a boost for bp but as soon as you actually put them in the killer kills you instead of point farms obviously they have no obligation to do so but it's just nice to not have a try hard match where everyone gets what they really want which is BP with little to no effort. I've been in matches where other players get the killer to farm but it seems whenever I do it the killer just wants to sweat for a 4k and make off with extra bp that I gave them.

That is their job. Let them sweat the heck out of doing so

  • @MadLordJack said:

Oni is hard countered by predropping pallets. Myers just has to stare for a bit.

Oni just needs to swipe one person and follow them for a very short while

  • He certainly earns his power far too easily compared to someone like Myers

  • @akanadi said:

why? whats the point running a killer there doesnt make you good, and if you are bad you arent learning anything from it, and its funny because most of the ppl who bring haddonfield complain about camping and tunneling, haddonfield is how to tell me youre insecure about your skill without telling me youre insecure.

Because the map is in the game, survivors get tired of Autohaven & probably fancy a change.

Stop crying about not getting a map you like

  • @BigCheese42069 said:

I don't know about everyone else but I used to have so much fun on this game and now everytime I come to play it becomes more bullshit. The killers all get buffed like crazy for no reason meanwhile the survivors get cucked. Ontop of that the survivors make way less bloodpoints even though it is now much harder for survivors to survive. The survivors are limited to doing nothing besides doing a gen or dying. I hate seeing the direction this game is going it makes playing the game unenjoyable. It makes it worse that it takes a longer amount of time top get into a game than playing a full game. Make the game balanced, this game used to be so much fun and now its all about making the killers win and feel included.

It needs balanced but not for the reasoning you're giving your opinion on.

Although you do have a point about spending more time matchmaking/loading (peak hours) than a game sometimes lasts. This is a problem not restricted to DbD though.

  • Undying should be exactly that. The totems cannot be successfully cleansed. It still lets a survivor fill up the progress bar but instead of destroying the totem it removes a health state from that survivor

-survivor stands in the entry to a structure- Ah ok, guess I'll go around the entire building or tile. If it was as easy as "move around them" it wouldn't be a "block".

"move around them" only works in the wide open, which is the minority of the time considering there's tiles everywhere.

And how often does that happen?

Lol. I have BT active, let me just stand blocking this doorway as my main objective

  • @Caleegi said:

This is an awful idea. It will just make people wanting to play with friends not wanting to and thats a majority of the playerbase gone.

You're gaining a large advantage by having open comms with your friends. It balances out the game

  • @Phasmamain said:

But what if my friends or myself aren’t good? That handicap isn’t necessary

You practice and earn your victories. You have a huge advantage being able to communicate, so this is the trade off

I have been a solo que player since the game first launched. I was a rank 1-5 solo que player 2016-2019.

I've been playing solo survivor for the past 18 months & racked up a lot of hours doing so. Can't compare how it was before then but at least 80% of matches are full of absolute potato survivors in red ranks.

  • @Hex_SARS_2_CoV said:

I played this game for almost ten thousand hours, since the beta 2016, it took a while to get the hang of it but not before long I became rank 1 and stayed around red rank until around early 2020.

I am 48 years old, will be 49 this september, have a beautiful daughter who runs 2 companies and have been receiving a disability check for most my life because I have a pretty severe form of Autism, so no discussions about me wasting my life please.

    To the point:

From early 2020, just after the Covid lockdowns, I have had a really hard time winning games and the last months I die practically every match before the first generator is started, it has become so bad I can't even do my challenges for the archives before the killer finds me and sacrifices me even if I try to hide in a locker.

Any ideas what is going on?

Are you a solo queue player?

  • 5. Each time you unhook a survivor in front of the killer without BT - all you smell for the rest of your life is Charlie Sheen's breath

  • Mods - if you're going to move or close something then please make a post stating why.

This was intended for general discussion between forum users & not structured feedback for developers.

  • @Gorky_ said:

So if I want to play with one friend, I basically give up to escape ?

No. You are matched with others in SWF matchmaking mode.

Forgot to say voice chat comes as standard in this mode (but can be muted by players as they see fit)

  • It is the unexpected that causes trepidation.

Once you become familiar, learn the game & understand what is coming - that trepidation subsides.

I do like that period at the start of the game as a survivor, when you don't know who the killer is.

  • @TGB said:

Step 1, by the way: Don't have Survivors be actually stronger than the Killer.

When a big strategy is to body block the Killer from being able to move freely, such as to prevent a hooking, is that not the wakeup slap that Survivors don't have a god damn SINGLE fear in this entire game???

This game really lost its identity. And - yes - I blame the Survivor Lobbyists. They got this game gripped by the balls.

Imagine a Halloween night with your girlfriend, pop in a scary movie, turn the lights off, and then it was just Jason running through a warehouse, bumping into corners and having a bunch of pallets fall onto him, and he stumbles out from the debris, his mask slightly askew, and then a bunch of 8 year olds start clickity clacking flashlights in his face and he just grunts and moans and flails around, and runs into more pallets falling on top of him, and then one 8 year old in the background is just leaping in and out of a red closet over and over for no reason...

    Yeah.

    DBD...

    What a game...

Wraith body blocking whilst he uncloaks

Bubba & Billy body blocking for the easy down

Hag trapping & body blocking at pallets

Works both ways so don't pretend survivors have an advantage

  • @GhostMaceNotCrusty said:

It looks like your problem can be fixed by calling your good friends at comcast and getting some good wifi

Nah. BHVR just can't code a game which is playable with a match full of 40ms ping

  • @TGB said:

Just show the buff aura immediately... Don't have it wait until the Survivor gets hit...

As it is right now, it's basically a 5th Perk, to put it as shortly as possible.

    ----

As it is right now, you LEARN that somebody has it by hitting a Survivor and then they glow white... but you're now stuck in place on attack cooldown animation. And that's a huge loss. That's an escaped Survivor, you lost 'em.

And not only that, but you have this on potentially 3 more Survivors, too.

    But maybe not!

    And that's the REAL kicker.

That's why it's a 5th Perk. The only way to counterplay it is to assume they have it. You can't afford to swing at them in order to learn. But, my freaking god, it's TWELVE SECONDS!! I have to ride their buttcheeks for TWELVE SECONDS, just based on the assumption that they are buffed by their rescuer.

But maybe they AREN'T! Maybe the rescuer does NOT have Borrowed Time! But since I have to respect it anyway, then they basically DO have it, now, don't they?

And then for the ultimate "mind games," if you end up testing it and learn that they DO have Borrowed Time... now you kind of assume EVERYONE will have it. But, again, maybe not! Maybe only that ONE guy has it, and unhooked a Surv, and you smacked 'em. And maybe that was going to be the only time anyone was ever Enduranced all game. But, alas, you spent the rest of the game respecting a non-existent buff for TWELVE SECONDS each time just because you really cannot afford not to.

    ....

    UGH. It's just pure misery.

Is this ever talked about??? It seems like a very obvious & glaring issue, to me.

    Then hit the unhooker instead

Only people that say this, are the ones with little lunges. 😁

I mean, I play Myers and it is tiny. Really have to use it wisely. Then when you play with it a bit & level it up - it becomes larger than normal

  • @Sluzzy said:

Wraith now has too many abilities and too much power, so it is natural perks is pushing him over the top and it feels hopeless. Extremely fast map travel, completely stealth, and a lunge that reaches a miles after using his power. HIs gigantic lunge that he has benefit from should be a ultra rare addon or that Twin's perk, NOT a default ability.

Sounds like you're envious of his gigantic lunge.

It doesn't matter how big it is, it comes down to how you use it

M1 on Gen enough give you iri Object, M1 on survivor & hook give you iri Altruism. If team mate good in chase, you get iri Survival.

The only thing requires skill is Boldness.

    Sounds easy enough

  • @Tsulan said:

    Then don´t do it.

Congrats Sherlock, you figured out that my first experience of it wasn't enjoyable and pieced it together to come to the conclusion that I won't be doing it again

  • @GodLikeTerror said:

I seriously don't understand this. If you are going to sit there and split up on 3 different gens at the start of the round, and rush gens to try and get out 5 minutes later. Why do survivors complain if the killer decides to tunnel and camp then? Tunneling allows more pressure to get someone out of the game, and camping typically gets people off generators a lot of the times at least 2 of the 3 people trying to sit on gens if not all. I don't understand the mentality behind getting mad at the killer for it when you are the one trying to rush the round. That's why I don't get upset when I play survivor and the killer tunnels and camps, but then again most survivors only play one side, and that's the easiest side where you can mess up nonstop and get away with it, because the game allows you to. Sorry if that was a bit of rant, but like a lot of survivor players literally do not understand this fundamental fact.

What do you expect them to do?

Sit at the same generator and just stare at it until you show up to down someone?

  • @trashgirl said:

I've lurked the forums enough to know that matchmaking sucks, I'm not here to complain about that. I've been playing for about two weeks and I'm just wondering what I can do as a new player without many good perks or killers when the game decides to throw my rank 17 baby killer in with rank 1 survivors, or when it decides to solo queue me with purple and red ranks who still decide to let me die on first hook. Any help from people who have been there?

    Practice. LOTS of practice

  • Unfortunate.

    As a rank 15 killer, yesterday I was matched with a rank 3, 6, 10 & 11

  • I only ever play survivor as a solo.

Like a few people have said its a real mixed bag. I certainly get more unhelpful team mates than good ones

When you do get other survivors who play well, it is fun

  • @Drixpy_Jayyy said:

When survivors complain the devs take action immediately but when killers complain the devs just be like "nahhh your fine deal with it and we will be nerfing a killer and their perks."

    Lol

  • @thrawn3054 said:

The Game is worse, and Midwich, and Hawkins.

    The Game is awful.

Midwich & Hawkins are excellent maps. Some survivors just can't deal with the lack of loops in Midwich and need to understand stealth & awareness should be your priority so pallets aren't all gone early game

  • And some survivors don't care for keys. They prefer doing all gens

  • I honestly don't care.

Just stomped a bunch of survivors & one escaped via hatch after I found it and closed it. Fair play to them.

It is their only way out if the exit gates spawn too close together & it's a killer with the ability to speed between them

  • @myersmain69420Xx said:

6 games in one day ds let someone escape, ds itself is fine, it counters tunneling which is nice, but ds in egc is different.

ds in egc is basically a free ticket to play as dumb as you want, you can run in and get hard read by a rank 20 killer and THEY get punished for grabbing you, survivors can play as dumb as they want without consequence, its dumb and i definetly think they need to do something to ds during the egc, but since its bhvr and it took them 4 years just to nerf ds, tell me any ways to counter ds

    Please stop crying about DS

Killers have NOED for the end game collapse. Both generate a, potentially, undeserved ending to a match. They're both fine

  • @Seanzu said:

Crazy how nobody complained about this perk for like 2/3 years and now it's talked about daily as being an issue.

Because now DS has been nerfed they have to turn their attention elsewhere. If they get their way, soon enough survivors won't be allowed to have any perks

  • Perk Name: Straining the Tea Bag

For each successful tea bag whilst the killer is looking in your direction - gain a token. Each token gives the killer 1% haste status. No token limits apply.

Perk deactivates if tea bagging happens near open exit gate and you are downed by NOED. Survivor earns the "Tea bag of Regret" achievement

  • @csandman1977 said:

    Hex: I Hate You

You are enraged by your dependance on suboptimal totem placements. If a Hex perk is destroyed (including this one) before the first generator is complete, your anger at the entity overcomes you and you gain the following effects:

    1) Pressing either emote button allows you to hold up your middle finger pointing it at the sky.

    2) You can repair generators and heal survivors.

    3) Performing a basic attack on a survivor instead awards that survivor an escape cake. You can give away 2/3/4 cakes total.

"Nerf me again you b***h!" - Random killer throughout history

    Hahahaha!!!

  • As long as it is win-win for both it is fine by me as it is a rare experience. As a survivor, I wouldn't want it to happen frequently.

However killers who spawn and don't move (i.e. there is a Wraith who cloaks and does nothing). Survivors end up losing rank just so the killer can do so also, with the objective of facing lesser ranked survivors.

    BING BONG BING BONG

I do love an over enthusiastic bell ringing Wraith

  • Too many keys are showing up. As a survivor I prefer to get out via gens.

Also, I'm very surprised survivors aren't spamming the hatch location offerings given how common keys are lately

  • Scratched Mirror Myers is the most fun thing to play. Well, until you try to swipe someone who isn't stepping on your toes

Ghostface can have unlimited stalking / exposing of survivors?

I play Myers and I'm fine with the 3 tier system (although given his snail pace at tier 1, I do wish his lunge was better).

You really should have to earn the exposure tier 3 brings & tier 1 with undetectable status lets you get on the trail of survivors easily
