I have egg on my face because I’m enjoying her too. She gets compared to Knight but she can shut down a loop while hardly breaking stride. I also like chaining the drones together to stay Undetectable for long periods.

The undetectable is my favorite part. Dark devotion and plaything go very well with her.

At first I was super confused and lost, literally suffer more of using her power than just going solely M1. But after researching a little and playing her few dozen times I kinda like her. Not like Sadako, but still enjoyable.

My only complaint was (and still is) is her visual design. Don't get me wrong, she is hot booty mamacita and I like it. I just frustrated that she is simple girl with knife and tinfoil mask (especially when we have S.T.A.R.S. survivors now, looks pretty silly). If they made her cyborg, like same model, but claws is her hand, half face is mechanical (where tinfoil mask is), parts are robotic, etc. She would be menacing and super cool.

Artist - scary and hot. Plague - menacing and hot. Spirit - super scary and super hot. Huntress - menacing and try telling her she is not hot. Merchant? Well, nice bod, love.

I hate her design. She makes me happy killer is 1st person!

  • So I got a look at the leaked pitch notes and saw some interesting stuff.

1- 2 killers and 8 survivors. Consisting of Wraith and Trapper, Kate, David, Claudette, Meg, Feng, Dwight, and Nea. The 8th dc'd when they were told they were the first to step in a trap.

2 - Nea is going to sabotage the survivors.

3 - Mothers Dwelling was originally one of the maps but it was turned down because it was too big for the production studio

4 - Only voice actors will be cast for Dwight and Claudette as they have no on screen parts.

5 - Although it is an R rated movie and not meant for children, their will be no foul language in the script.

6 - Samination has an advisory roll and it's possible the Trapper will be based on his animations

7 - The writers are survivor sided and are planning on at least one of them escaping

8 - No One Escapes Death was the original title but test groups said it was unfun.

9 - They were going to use a location named Camp MacMillan, but decided campers are unfun.

And 10 - Everyone dies and the movie ends the same way it started, since death is not an escape.

I remember a game (about a year ago) when I was playing Huntress against a very chill SWF. They were pretty good but overall the game was very back and forth. That was until I got lucky and came close enough to grab Feng. I froze for about 5 seconds with my hand outstretched to reach for her. She saw that, nodded, and then slow vaulted back to level the playing grounds again. I couldn't kill her after that but it was one of those special moments I'll never forget.

Another match that I absolutely loved was against 4 survivors that had the names of Susie, Frank, Julie and Joey (all Legion members). They began chasing me instead. I was terrified.

A Doctor match I had against 4 different versions of Bunny Fengs just a few months ago. We were on Mother's Dwelling and I had a bit of trouble keeping up with the survivors' efficiency. They were pretty good in chase too but Zanshin Tactics really helped me out. When all gens were done I chased one Feng and she ran me back to main building.... Where they had prepared a surprise for me. 3 of them were on the table in the center and the other Feng jumped down to join them. As did I. We kept fooling around for a bit, farming some blood points and them I let them escape via slug race. Unfortunately one of them had to be disqualified for cheating (Tenacity). These guys were very wholesome in chat as well.

Probably my favorite match of all time was as Billy on Grimm Pantry. I tried to do the Spacebilly spot on main building and after a few tries I got the hang of it. I managed to jump so high that the survivors couldn't see me and luckily landed right next to a gen they were working on. Several times. They were scared of the flying chainsaw lunatic and I had a lot of fun flying around and landing right next to them (totally planned btw, definitely not lucky at all). In the end I managed to leave the map and waited for them outside of the exit gates. They gave me a lightshow with their flashlights as thanks and we exchanged some nice word in end game chat.

My favorite survivor game was against a Spirit. She didn't pay attention in the lobby and didn't realise that there was something off about the Jame Sunderland in her game. Until she found me. I greeted her as the great Jeryl by spinning with my flashlight and nodding at her. She followed me the whole game, completely mesmerized by the beauty right before her eyes. Needless to say I got rancore moried. 😂

That legion group must have been a blast!

  • I got bored of the game awhile back. And stopped playing so much. Then came back and instead of focusing on killer so much I started playing survivor more.

It helped as, it is a completely different game. When I started getting bored of that I decided to learn a new killer. Nemesis is fun.

Then back to survivor, trying to learn to be better with flashlights, something I hardly ever used since I started as a killer main and hated them.

When it seemed like every killer was running light born I decided to do something I have been putting off. I started playing nurse.

Still not good but getting better.

Moral of the story, whenever I get bored or frustrated I choose something I have never done before and focus on that. It helps to keep things interesting.

  • Except for glyph challenges, most of them are designed to be completed with normal game play.

During normal gameplay there is just less for a killer to do. Plus it's one person doing it. Survivors have more things they can do, plus s far as the healing, unhooking, generating, etc, they have to share the game with 3 other people. Makes it a bit harder.

The challenge for some killers is having to learn killers they done normally play to complete some of them. For instance, I've played knight a handful of times, but I have no idea which symbol is assassin or carnifex. I can guess, but I then have to know which order they are in.

While the break 6 objects in a game will be easy with a game map offering, the assassin hits may be a bit harder.

    I'm rambling now. Sorry

How does the Knight's Patrol Path work? I haven't played as that killer more than maybe 10 times however I thought I understood how it worked until the last match I was in as a survivor. I was using Kindred and we where playing on the Red Forest map.

When the killer hooked a survivor I could see the killers silhouette since I was using Kindred and the killer was on the other side of the map. Moments later(maybe like 8 to 10 seconds) one of the Knight's guards was patrolling almost right next to me. That is the first time I have seen the Knight set up a patrol so far from the location they were at seconds before. Then the Knight showed up seconds later.

Seems odd to me that the killer was able to set up a patrol that far then show up so fast or is that something that specific killer can do and I just don't know much about it?

On red forest and using kindred you saw the killer on the other side of the map? Kindred only let's you see like 16 meters I think from the hook. 24 if some is using ace in the hole. If you saw the killer he was near the hook.

Also, unhooking makes the patrol go away.

  • I just deleted all my good screen shots of my favorite outfits. I can't get them back since they were broken linked sets. But I will describe them.

Minotaur clown body with the elephant head.

Bunny legion with any other mask. The head disappears and you get a floating mask. It was cool.

October fest? Kate with leather pants. Her stomach disappeared. Was cool.

I bought like 3 linked sets and then they fixed the bug. Haven't spent a dime on cosmetics since.

  • I'll say this. Good survivors and good killers know when they are playing against people better than them. As far as I am concerned, I'm good enough to know when I am outclassed. I will start a game normally and do my best. However, if it is apparent that there is no chance for me winning and I get in a chase with a good looper, I will commit.

Not for petty reasons, just because I know if I play against better people, then my game play will get better as a result. So if the game is lost I will give up on it and chase whoever until either I get them or the game ends

If I do get them I go try to find someone else. Unless the person I was chasing decided to tbag every pallet and window. Then I just face camp them. Not because I'm mad, just because they were rude.

Somebody Disconnecting could mean a number of things, let’s be a bit more optimistic here, that person could’ve had to deal with a family emergency and had to DC, their dog or cat might’ve ran outside and they had to DC to chase after it before it gets hit by a car, maybe that person threw up all over their gaming setup cause they ate somthing bad etc.. you never know why that person DCd. So just because someone DCd on the map they specifically bought doesn’t mean they DCd cause they don’t want to go against a specific killer they don’t like.

I'm sure you're scenario happens, the question is how frequently. DC penalties didn't happen because of people with emergencies. They happened because people abused it.

Why do you get punished for a legit disconnect? Because the world is full of whiney children.

As an example. Where I work, if you are an hourly employee and have to leave for any reason, you get a point on your attendance record. For a short time their was a policy that if you left and brought back a doctor note the point would be removed.

What ended up happening was a handful of people would download fake doctor notes from the internet and gamed the system.

So what happened? Instead of dealing with the small group of people that were doing it, the policy got changed and now if you have a doctor appointment you get the point anyway.

  • You will be good to go next year. I myself had around 100 from last year strewn about my roster.

Yeah, guns are certainly not banned for everyone in Europe. From experience, my grandparents were farmers and I now live in a very rural area of the UK and farmers are allowed them but have strict regulations on how they are stored. Also being from London originally, they aren't hard to come by!

I exaggerated some, but I think it's true enough that guns are nowhere near as prevelent as in the US.

  • My first thought was NOED or Devour Hope but those don't really extend the game.

    Thrilling tremors is 16 seconds.

No Way Out I think fits the best. Except doing something else while waiting it out isn't niche. There's almkst always something to do. But I think that's my answer.

Rather unfortunately there isn't a big government body that collects all of the relevant information and presents it neatly into a simple document so the data is rather scattered and outdated, but during the 80s and 90s hanging and firearms were almost joint for first place, and almost 90% of all suicides were from firearms, hanging, poisoning, gases, and jumping (in that order).

Meanwhile, a study conducted on all suicides between 1990 and 2005 found strangulation and suffocation (presumably via hanging) to be the biggest cause.

According to the Canadian Vital Statistics Death Database, hanging was the leading cause of suicide from 2000-2009, accounting for 44% of all suicides.

This was published in 2017, and there isn't a more recent version that I can find.

All I know for sure is after researching this I'm currently on a watch list.

Interestingly, I came across a study from Vietnam that had some interesting tid bits.

I'm that region, poisoning is the preferred method for suicide. Followed by asphyxiation.

They found that for the most part, guns and hanging are used by those that really want to go as they are almost 100% fatal.

They also suggested that the preferred method is based on the most available tool. For instance, in America where a huge number of people own firearms, firearms is the most common, with poisoning hardly ranking.

In Europe where guns are banned for everyone, hanging is the top means with guns hardly ranking.

And in Vietnam, poisoning is the most prevalent because of the high agricultural society. The fertilizer and insecticides apparently make really good tea.

(sorry if I seem glib. It's a coping mechanism when dealing with dark material. I mean no offense to anyone.)

The study decided that removing the tools from people is the way to prevent suicide, but that's not my takeaway. My takeaway is that people are going to commit suicide regardless of what tools are available.

Removing guns and rope won't stop people from killing themselves. They will just switch to some other way. Epstein used a bed sheet wink wink.

I completely understand the open the door and leave. I respect that. Hell I do it sometimes myself depending on how the game went.

My issue here was, Bill watched the Trapper pick up the Felix and walk away.... Twice. There was no danger to him. It would have taken less than 10 seconds to get me and get back to the gate.

He wasn't worried about blood warden or he would have left. Just blew my mind. I can't count the number of times I've hook traded and died at the end just so someone else could get out.

And ultimately I'm not angry about being left to die. If I die then maybe next killer is easier to face and I don't have to sweat against a cracked out blight.

It does however, illustrate the complete individuality and differences in thought patterns among people with at least one similar hobby.

I'm sure there's a psychology paper out there somewhere. Would be interesting to read.

If an image like a monochromatic icon of a rope triggers thoughts of self-harm, it may be worth considering avoiding certain types of media. A gory horror game filled with scenes of mutilation and killing may not be the best choice for individuals who are especially sensitive to such content.

    I mean if you look at the logic for most games these days;

Acceptable - murder, cannibalism, Satanism, dismembering, torture, bombing, sex and nudity, etc...

Not acceptable - self-harm, bad words to others (though in game profanity is acceptable) and in this games case, flicking a flashlight too quickly.

  • I think it has to do with pick rates. How many twins players are there?

It makes thematic sense, almost nobody refers to it as the gallows map, almost everyone calls it the saloon map, so a broken bottle from a barfight is more relevant to the map than a noose from the gallows.

I agree with you on that. A broken bottle makes a ton of sense. I was just curious why they changed it.

Just showing that you can buff soloQ and leave SWFs untouched. There are ways to do it. The fact that they haven't even tried is really irritating. The HUD changes were so minor I doubt the statics for kill rates change at all.

    Yup

  • @Biscuits said:

    One easy fix ready?

For each Solo player in a lobby, generators lose 5 seconds of repair time. So with a group of four gens take 90 seconds. A group of 3 plus a random is 85. A group of 2 plus 2 randoms is 80. A truly solo group of players is 75. We see how the kill rates play out and adjust accordingly.

You could make the Gen speeds 5 seconds and it wouldn't matter. Some people just don't give a turd about teammates.

  • @tippy2k2 said:

    That is true

However, that does not mean that BHVR should not try to bridge that gap. BHVR is never going to be able to turn a bad teammate a good teammate but they can give solos the tools necessary to make a competent team rise up to a good or even great team.

I didn't say they shouldn't try, just that some people think that BHVR can magically make everyone equal.

    Never gonna happen

I was going to leave this alone but since you brought it up......

Hanging oneself is a tactic, but according to this website, https://sprc.org/scope/means-suicide the top 3 are firearms, poisoning, and suffocation. Which across all age groups represent 87-93% of all suicides.

The noose hasn't been culturally relevant for close to a century in the USA.

Ultimately I find it odd that, an object so seldomly used for suicide, to be removed for that reason. Especially from a company based in a country who's government actively brags about the number of assisted suicides performed since legalizing the practice.

The iconic killers were from an era before the video game biz was a thing. People are old now and most of them don't play video games anymore. I doubt that many Gen Z and Gen Alpha know about these iconic horror killers.

I disagree. On Halloween I dress up like Myers and stalk the trick or treaters. Some are scared others want pictures. I mixed it up this year and went as Jason. I had kids asking me why I wasn't Myers. They were disappointed.

Although they were congratulating me for winning the death match I didn't see until 2 days after Halloween.

  • @MrDardon said:

What would his power be? In F13 the Game he could sneak (Myers, Ghostface), throw knives (Trickser, Huntress), place traps (Trapper), morph to other locations (Hag, Demo, Freddy, Dredge, Sadako) and teleport towards a Counselor (Nurse, Spirit) and he could break windows to injure and slow Counselors (Clown to some extend).

Other than that, he is just a big guy with a machete. And we already have Trapper.

If you'd add anything from the above, he'd just be another copy cat of an already existing Killer.

    @MrDardon said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3255799#Comment_3255799

That's what I meant. Jason will just be another copy cat, which would be an unfortunate fate for an iconic character like him.

But I can't think of an original idea for him.

    Myers is unique.

Bubba is more or less unique in his own way, just cuz he has a Chainsaw like Billy but he plays quite differently.

    Freddy WAS unique.

Pig is quite unique as well.

Other licences after that became quite similar.

    Ghostface, similar to Myers

Demo is simple but unique I guess

PH is somewhat unique but similar to Demo with his M2, just deadlier.

Nemesis is PH 2.0. and weaker with a questionable AI reinforcement.

    Pinhead is actually quite unique.

Sadako is like a Wraith who can morph around the map.

Wesker is like a fairer Nurse with more restrictions and built in slowdown. (He's still fun though).

Jason is damned to become just another copy+paste, but I'd be for it. It doesn't mean that he can't be fun.

Every killer they have released recently has been an amalgam of everything that came before it. The knight may be different but he's what Legion should have been.

Yes the machete is what is most associated with Jason, but he uses so many different weapons you really can't limit it to just that.

  • @StibbityStabbity said:

Jason is a rats nest of legal and licensing issues. Currently, it's split between two entities, and both have to agree to work with the other in order for ANYTHING to happen. This is partly what killed the F13 game. The licensing issues made it so they could no longer support the game without the risk of being sued. As it currently stands, Jason is basically separate now from his own lore. His mother is no longer allowed to be mentioned in anything he is in, and New Line currently owns the rights to put Jason in film, so long as they don't reference the name "Friday the 13th" or any of the specific lore established or built upon by the first film.

BHVR has said in the past they would love to add Jason to the game. The actual chances of that, at the moment, are slim. Pinhead and Hellraiser only became accessible when the Weinsteins decided to be the Weinsteins and lost everything because, you know, Weinsteins. Jason is in a similar limbo, but the owners of him haven't been MeToo'd yet. New Line MIGHT be able to license him out, but there is a good chance that ANYTHING they do with him will be met with lawsuits as the entities that own pieces of him and his lore like to try to bleed each other to death.

Yeah it's not perfect but at least now the lines are delineated. Everyone knows where everyone stands. From what I understand there is a new movie being made as well as a prequel series being made.

They may not like each other, but the owners of the properties may be inclined to promote there respective projects.

Nothing says that BHVR can't get the rights from both parties independently. Just because they couldn't get Scream holders on board with Ghostface doesn't mean they will automatically fail in every similar scenario. Especially when Cote is on record stating he really wants it.

  • My first main was Zarina but only because I escaped like 5 times in a row with 1 perk when she first came out. Thought she was my lucky charm.

And then Yun-Jin came along and I am now a die hard fan. Her lore is great. Being selfish to the point of turning a blind eye to evil, makes her pretty much evil too. I started as a killer so I guess it hits home a bit. I also love that her perks perfectly suit her personality. Sometimes I role play and try to play as her but then feel bad for being so selfish.

For killers I play Nemesis just about exclusively because he is just fun. Whether winning or losing I have fun with him.

However, my favorite killer and the one I would main if I was any good or not on console or dedicated enough to practice more is Huntress. I've posted about it before but every aspect of her character from noises to stun reactions to her perks just make sense. You can get a feel for her character and who she is even if you didn't know the lore.

    Sorry to over explain.

    P. S. Disregard everything from the killer side if OG Freddy can count as a main at this time.

  • Why stop. It's not like survivors don't already pop gens in killers faces anyway. This one isn't that hard.

Either the three were completely out of the game or they were not.

Video determination of whether they had obtained an escape, death, or DC icon.

Way it's been is that as soon as everyone left in trial is on hook, the game ends. That's how it's been for the longest time. This last game was an exception. Just wondering if things were changed?

Hatch size is fine, this person's attitude however is not. You can report them for that btw since they were technically holding you hostage.

He could have done the gens. Didn't seem like the killer was too interested in stopping him from doing the objective. Thus he wasn't a hostage.

Im concerned that they are going through with this whole rework just to be able to sell us different types of mori animations. To your point though I would like better reworked mori's, i just don't want to see them be sold for auric cells

I would think that if they were going to sell new animations they would make them more prevalent not nearly nonexistent

  • Something I thought of that won't effect me. Slugging for the 4k. If the last survivor not downed is good at hiding, the game will take absolutely forever.

I do like most of the changes outside of moris. I just think the unlimited unbreakable in 22 secs may be a little much as I've stated.

Devour hope literally doesn't change at all

Rancor's best use was the information provided during the match anyway, the mori was just the icing. I really don't know who would ever use it for the end game part more than for the information it provides, unless one has to do a daily and doesn't want to bring offerings

Devour Hope loses the thing that makes it great. For me anyway. I'm not a sweaty killer usually. I don't have to 4k. Will often let last person go.

I almost always use DH as I like the thrill of attempting to get to 5 stacks before it's cleansed. The reward is a fun animation. Some moris are just plain entertaining and limiting them to only the last survivor upsets me. True DH gameplay wise is mostly unchanged. But the reward for the hex actually lasting is just another hook.

    I hate it.

I swear to god… it’s just non-stop. Like 70% of my games are Wesker and they ALL either clearly proxy camp the hook or they loose proxy camp by leaving but as soon as the unhook happens they shoot back directly to the hook to either tunnel or get a cheap hit on the rescuer. I take my 4% chances on all of these games. It’s just no fun.

Why proxy camp? Well BBQ was used mainly for blood points however it also was used to locate survivors far from the hook, incentivizing the killer to go where the survivors were. As a bonus the killer would go to get another stack.

And yes it didn't matter for many killers as let's look at things logically. You chase a survivor. Maybe get a few Pallets down. That section of the map is now weaker for the survivors. Thus easier for the killer to chase and get a hit.

Now looking at Gen setup, say you hook someone in an area with 3 or 4 gens. That's 3 or 4 gens in a part of the map with less resources for survivors to use. That in itself is incentive to stay in the area.

Now since BBQ is used less, there is almost no way to know where other survivors are, and less incentive to hook multiple survivors.

So why walk across the map to maybe find another survivor? In an area that has more resources for survivors?

Knowing that someone has to come rescue the recently hooked person, a killer will patrol the area that is more of a survivor dead zone looking for the person coming for the rescue. Most of the time the killer finds them. Sometimes they find 2 of them.

Now hitting the recently unhooked, even when not planning on tunneling is a smart thing to do as it forces a mending action which is time off gens.

Tl:Dr basically blame the game design. There's no incentive to leave the hook or the area. Especially in newer players that aren't very good.

  • I asked this awhile back and I think it was queen who answered at the time. Maybe it wasn't her but the gist of the answer was,

The game is not a team game. While it is usually best to help keep the other survivors alive, it really is an every person for themselves type of game.

Granted this was years ago but I haven't heard anything from anyone else otherwise.

    Kinda nuts actually

You need to make sure the charges are fully depleted coz even with a single charge left it won’t refill.

This happened to me one game. Found a brown medkit and hit a great skill check. Spent way too much time trying to refill that thing.

  • I landed a hit through a doorway out of desperation. Kind of a hail Mary. I honestly didn't expect to make it through as I struggle tremendously doing the same as blight.

Pallets are my biggest issue as he just fizzles most of the time. Can't really judge windows as I've played 4 games and gotten RPD or the game maps only.
