I had a game today where I had slugged someone on the ground, started a chase with another survivor who was nearby, see discordance light up. After getting a pallet thrown and watching them run to shack I decide to go to the discordance gen only to get hit by a ds.

Really annoying considering the slugged guy has unbreakable and lost out on popping that gen.

I still 4k'd that game but the change to ds can't really come soon enough.

Embarrassing listening to some of you communicate like this. Stop acting so priviliged

  • @GrimReaperJr1232 said:

If I did the math correctly, 4 people could hypothetically do a gen in less than 10 seconds.

It's better that Prove Thyself does NOT stack.

Agreed. From a survivor point of view it doesn't need stacked - it's fine as it is

  • More killers crying that they need more of an advantage than the insane one they have

Stop survivors from having any perks & you'll still be whinging about something

Why is it if a killer has bad ping they land hits through pallets and vaults? But me having good ping i am punished for trying? I am not in any way saying i should land hits through pallets and vaults but i am saying its dooky that kiilers with bad ping can.

Because devs don't give a crap about poor game design that has a detrimental effect on survivors

  • @WhaleBlubber said:

Yeah that was dumb of them to do, but you just left them on the hook to die? I'd argue that is way way worse.

If I save them, they'll assume their action was ok to do & continue to do it in other matches.

Before you know it, a lot of other survivors are trying it & it becomes common. As they know they'll still be saved.

Ya i can’t play a game at all it keeps making my killer invisible too out of no where

    I hope they fix it

You can try going in to options, making sure crossplay is de-selected. Restart the game & find a match that way

Is anyone else unable to access DbD ok Xbox right now? It took almost 5 minutes to load the main menu, and keeps giving me an error that it can't connect to servers.

    Huge problem

Expect DbD to do anything about it before tomorrow? Nope

But if they are constantly being the last ones alive and kept getting hatch then what are they learning? That their tactics work so they don’t have to be a team player.

If they're on the same platform as you then send them a friendly message offering constructive feedback - give advice, be nice

You gotta realize that kind of Claudette is the minority right? Like you do know a lot of people groan when they see a Claudette in their Lobby cause they assume they are just going to hide and wait for hatch. Or get hit once and immediately vanish for minutes to self-heal

I've had some poor Claudette's today. They turned out to be low ranks who I can only assume are very inexperienced at the game. They'll just need more time on the game & hopefully do their own research on how to be a better player.

I was playing with a Felix yesterday, he had a key. 3 gens left to do & 3 survivors left = he was using urban evasion searching for the hatch. I didn't "hate" him because he was making uneducated choices of an inexperienced player

  • @dspaceman20 said:

You shouldn't generalize all claudette mains. It's unreasonable.

    Agreed.

I play Claudette a lot & if I'm not smashing gens, I'm being chased or healing/saving

  • Oh hang on, it's let me into a lobby just now. Give it another go

It's happening to me too right now on Steam. Just finished a match, searching for another one and first got Connection could not be established and then got the DeadMatch error.

Really not been a great past few weeks for BHVR.

Just as i'm typing this I got DeadMatch again. ######### my life.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/A1SITHKSFL8K/image.png

Finally in a lobby again now.

The dead match is a separate error which is occurring, it will let you in to a match after re-attempts.

The 8,001 error is "Cannot connect to online services" - looks like someone at DbD has stood on a cable & went for a nap

  • Yep. Same problem here.

You were playing matches without issue earlier on updated version 4.5.2 too?

  • @HuDawg said:

Alrighty, i tried getting to matches and i got kicked out randomly something about error then i get dashboarded like 2 times like. What. The. Hell. Is. Going. On

Yeah based off that I assume this evening the 4.5.2 build was pushed for xbox one (ahead of schedule) and Microsoft is the one that did that. This morning you would have been on 4.5.1 like everyone else so no issues would have been occuring.

I was on 4.5.2 this morning, installed the update before playing. Enjoyed how smooth the matches ran because of the changes applied in the update.

Made some lunch, came back & menus taking crazy long to process selections. Error 8001 appears. Similar time, devs have posted an update message in the news section of the game

  • @th3 said:

Odds are the servers are still set to 4.5.1 and you are on 4.5.2 which could be the reason. When it pings their server to authenticate it could be throwing back for you.

It worked fine for a couple of hours this morning. Then all of a sudden the devs are doing something in the background which has messed it all up - standard form

  • Xbox One Survivor with new update installed. Able to match up with only other xbox one players who have update installed. I didn't need to turn off cross play

The skill checks are running so much smoother now, I love it

  • You cannot decide someone is going to be toxic BEFORE they even display or conduct an act of toxicity

  • Before the end of the 1st round, the doors would lock themselves & all the spectators would be butchered by them both. They'd call it a draw between themselves

  • I just had a rank 5 downed during the end game collapse. Killer camping, which is cool. I manage to get to him & what should be a quick tap to revive turns into a 5 second mess because the downed survivor insists on repeatedly moving, therefore breaking my heal before it takes effect.

Needless to say, I took a hit from the prolonged pick up & ended up being hooked for the first time. What's the icing on top? All 3 survivors left, without having killer pressure to deny me the chance to unhook myself.

Survivors, pay attention to the graphic which is now clear for you all to see.

We all kbow ormonds a bad map for killers and the fact that your calling his language selfish? I feel like you need a dictionary and learn what it means. I wouldve also tunneled especially with a swf. People in a swf are so annoying so why cant the killer be annoying back? Btw douche is also language so idk how ignorant you are but you seem pretty ignorant if you ask me. Also how can you instigate toxicity if it was gonna happen anyway?

If you ever face a judge in court, please use that as your defence. Sorry your honour, I had to pull the trigger to start it off because "it was going to happen anyway"

  • @Thasard said:

I got all my survivor and killer rift tasks done so I've just been waiting for Level 2 to be released with just my daily tasks to give me purpose. Maybe I shouldn't do these tasks because they're always on my non-Prestige 3 characters with less than optimum perks.

I've been trying to get Kate to survive to open an exit gate, but the first match had 2 survivors crouching across the map (I saw this from the start with my Bond), allowing the 4th survivor to get to the second hook stage and then left me to die on my second hook so they could get the hatch together because one of them brought a key (I didn't notice this).

Game 2: I brought a key and decided I was going to be selfish and play like those other survivors. Except every time the killer saw me, they stopped everything they were doing and tunneled me to take the key out of the match. And the window hits have never felt worse than they did with this update with this Blight.

I'm trying to find the point in playing this game if all I do is wait for more rift tasks. It just feels like all the good players have left the game, and all we're left with are crappy survivors who don't do crap in this game.

Those window hits aren't just restricted to Blight. The best hits are when you're already a couple of steps in to running after vaulting

How are you enjoying successful pallet stuns? I don't mean the ones where a stun/hit happens at the same time. I mean the ones where the killer teleports 2 metres to be on your side of the stun, makes the stun animation/sound but can instantly give you a clip round the ears

I agree with Blueberry's comments. Although I lose more than I escape, which is probably why I love the challenge.

So I was waiting in a lobby as killer, I check the profiles of the survivors in the lobby and find out 2 Meg and a Dwight were in a SWF. I decide to play anyway because I couldn't be bothered to wait for another lobby. Just 1 second before the match starts 1 of the Meg in that SWF switches to a full toxic-mode Nea with the classic bright costume and pick hair with a flashlight with the obvious intent to bully low rank killers abusing the SWF ranking system (I just returned after a 3 years break and I am currently playing in green ranks). On top of that, as I discovered at the end, he was the one responsible for us to end up on Ormond using an Ormond offering.

The match starts and, being pretty pissed about that Nea's behaviour, I decide to purposefully tunnel his other 2 friends to death until, after several missed flashlight saves and clicks done with the sole purpose of trying to annoy me, he decides to DC out of the match. After killing the 4th random and seeying the post game chat the Nea writes that I should unistall the game and that he Dc'ed in order to not give me any points. He obviously didn't realized my toxic behaviour was due to his last second switch and I decided to not even reply to him.

Now, I'm not here to discuss about the rampant toxic and shameful state this game has unfortunately been stuck in for years but just to ask why the ######### are survivors still allowed to last second switch into other characters with different equipment while killers to not able to change killer during a lobby anymore? Why did they add this restriction only for killers and not for survivors as well?

So you already decided that player was going to be toxic. You played the match purposefully tunnelling & instigated the toxicity. Bravo. Why are you surprised they took the douche move of disconnecting after that?

Also, the language you are using is incredibly selfish...

"he was the one responsible for us to end up on Ormond using an Ormond offering"

How dare he decide which map you go to!

Where are you hiding that a crawling survivor can give your position away? Aren't you moving to accomplish something in the match?

    This is a non issue.

    Exactly.

You can move stealthily far quicker than they can crawl

Twins encourages slugging and camping which I think is a really poor way to design a killer. We have enough of that as is.

Because you know what I’m sick of?

Survivors that don’t treat the killer like a threat and are going down like flies, giving the killer multiple hooks at 5 gens!!!

Please pay attention and HIDE when you see the killer!

    Yes, so so right.

Hide, let the killer get far enough away so a safe recuse can be made & enough time to scatter to a nearby pallet to heal whilst making it hard to be tracked.

Also, survivor awareness distinguishes between a poor survivor and a good survivor. I see far too many getting chased who then bring the killer towards the hook when there are two other survivors to make a clean save. Its like they're naturally drawn to the aura

  • Then their activation is inconsistent & broken. I've had obvious fails and obvious perfect placements - the perfect placements did absolutely nothing. Killer stood right in front of it, face on, with survivor in hand

Give a survivor a hit box and it's the size of an ant's penis

  • A lot of survivors get so salty about killers but, as a survivor main, survivors are more of a problem to themselves than any killer ever is.

If a killer face camps, take pleasure in holding them at the hook for the full duration. They want you to give up

You can't just fix latency though, there will always be latency in online games

20 to 40ms ping should not result in the massive jumps that we're seeing. Hatchet & spear gun hits once you've gone round a corner shouldn't be so common with good connections

It is poor, messy game design that has not been corrected for the popularity and cross platform aspect of the game

  • They're awesome. The absolute carnage & panic when devour hope hits 3rd hook is hilarious. A lot of survivors sprint like headless chickens to find it, therefore being easier to track & coming off gens.

As a killer, if you're concerned about losing your hex at the start of the game then just head straight for it at the start and work the gens from there.

I was against Nurse in Hawkins yesterday and she killed us all with Devour Hope (paired with Thrill of the Hunt). Each time someone tried to cleanse, she'd be there to give you a right good telling off & a slap. As a solo survivor it was tough but oh so beautiful to watch

  • At least the red stain was close. I'm on console with a similar ping to you & I get hit when the killer's red stain is a metre behind me

  • Stunning a killer with a pallet & they suddenly appear on your side of a pallet with no stun time & the easiest of hits?

    Check.

  • Lol. You're clearly not playing him as well as you could then

    hey there new guy.

On the flip side, as a survivor, it is frustrating when a killer puts your only other remaining survivor into the dying state and leaves them there until they find you.

Would it be fair to say that is taking the game hostage also?

it isn't. because you will eventually bleed out and die. meaning, the killer is making progress towards his objective of killing the survivors and the game will end.

when survivors hide and don't do gens, no progress in the game is being made and therefore the game could go on forever.

tl:dr: holding the game hostage is creating a state where the game won't end.

an example of a killer holding the game hostage, would be if all the survivors went into the basement, and the killer blocked the stairs refusing to hit any survivors. meaning no survivors can complete the gens and the game can't end.

I've had so many games where I've managed to revive them but because the killer never goes far (i.e. gen to dying survivor > repeat) it is an impossible task & a cycle of them tunneling the same survivor until they can latch on to you.

this happens because the killer doesn't want the last survivor to escape using the hatch. and this is the only way to make sure he gets 4 kills if he doesn't know where the hatch is.

and if he does know, maybe he can't patrol the gates and rather get you before the end game collapse.

Personally, I rather just kill the 3rd guy and finish the game, but it's still fair play if the killer wants the kill.

Bill has a perk to try combat that but it's such a waste.

    unbreakable? a waste?

it's literally one of the best perks in the game mate.

All survivors should have a faster crawl speed and no grunting - and one could argue no aura being revealed - while in the dying state.

no. wanna crawl faster? get tapps perk.

and no grunting means you will bleed out on the ground everytime, because the killer won't be able to find you. didn't you say you don't like getting slugged?

also, aura reading depends on the killer perks, there's no reason to disable it just because you are slugged.

Back to your point, as a survivor hiding is an awful tactic...agreed. However, keeping a low profile while searching for the hatch is vital. Then once its found, back to gens and if you're the last remaining, clench those cheeks and hope you make it before the killer gets there

this is completely fine, however, this isn't what was happening.

both survivors were hiding until the other one died, so they could get the hatch. meaning, the game would never end.

or do you honestly think it takes over 30 min to do what you suggested?

    I'll translate...

"hey there new guy." - I see you have no posts, let me try to pick apart everything you have just posted on this basis to fulfil my ego. As I have in excess of 3,000 posts, this is an important role for me - we don't want new persons getting comfortable here.

"it isn't. because you will eventually bleed out and die. meaning, the killer is making progress towards his objective of killing the survivors and the game will end." - The killer, in the scenario stated, is taking the game hostage to a certain degree because they are preventing the hatch from coming in to play in the game. If you'd like to find the definition of hostage you'll discover it alludes to something held as security for the fulfilment of a condition (i.e. the other remaining survivor being held in the dying state, as security; to prevent the condition of the hatch opening being fulfilled).

"unbreakable? a waste? it's literally one of the best perks in the game mate." - Subjective of course. It can only be used once and you're not guaranteed of being able to use it every trial. Awesome when it can, and is, used. I echo my earlier comment of killers not venturing far from the survivor in the dying state, especially if the survivor is Bill. Severely reduces the impact of it.

"and no grunting means you will bleed out on the ground everytime, because the killer won't be able to find you. didn't you say you don't like getting slugged?" - No it won't mean you bleed out every time, with fellow survivors you'll find yourself being picked up more often. If the killer wants to take that risk, let them take that chance. If it is such a problem for them to find survivors in the dying state when they refuse to hook them straight away, then there is a killer perk for that! For someone of your presumed experience based on your number of posts, this particular statement is idiotic.

  • On the flip side, as a survivor, it is frustrating when a killer puts your only other remaining survivor into the dying state and leaves them there until they find you.
