Still, that doesn't fix the problem.

They are going to continue to attack people because they think it's okay.

Yes I completely agree. I love this game but the community is very draining. Ignoring them is the best we can do unfortunately because people would rather be toxic and blame the other side than try to have a fun game and the developers don't care enough to give us tools to counter it. The block system making it so that we cant play with these people anymore would maybe fix a lot of these issues.

  • Sorry you had to deal with this. Just say gg wp and leave a smiley face or something. It doesn't get them the attention they want.

I don't have an issue with the challenge itself per se. I have an issue with not knowing how far along I am for the single game challenges. If I am keeping track myself, great but when I jump over 5 pallets or windows I would want to ensure that I get credit for it. "Killer wasnt close enough to be technically in a chase" means I wasted an entire game or 2 or 3... on the challenge. I might even throw the game because I need "one more thing" for a challenge but I really need 2 where I wouldnt take that unnecessary risk. I just think they have a bunch text pop up on the screen when you earn BP why cant we get get the tallys for the things we actually need to do in the game.

Allowing the challenge to pop up during a game like it does during end chat would literally fix this I agree. The issue is if the game could even handle that lol.

  • I don’t do it for immersion. I do it because I suck at looping and stealth play while also helping my team is the best way for me to make it out alive. Hiding in lockers the whole game does seem boring though, but there is some type of thrill in seeing the killer walk right past you and not being able to find you so there’s that.

  • I’ve been trying to get “unhook survivors with borrowed time within the killers terror radius two times in one match” for a couple days now. I think it’s just an issue with a lot of people trying to currently get it because I’m not even getting chances to unhook lately. People are being stingy lol.

Why do survivors t-bag and click their flashlight? If the survivor wasn't toxic then they are probably doing it just to annoy and mock.

Then again, depends on what people consider toxic. If I get my first hook and I hear 3 gens pop. I'm sure as hell gonna camp and start hitting the guy on hook out of spite. You just did 60% of the game, 2 more gens and I'm out of the game with an Entity Displeased, a derank, barely any Bloodpoints and getting t-bagged at the gate.

Same as how lots of survivors justify themselves when they t-bag because "wahh the killer was mean he camped/tunneled/whatever" then I'm gonna do the "equivalent" (hitting the hooked survivor will never be the same as t-bagging, specially not culturally) and hit on hook when they gen rush, or constantly body block me and follow me around sabotaging hooks and trying to blind me, etc.

This was so painful to read.

  • I found this tome a lot more easy than the previous one. I'm at Tier 14 and that's without doing Plague's challenges because I have yet to own her. I'm not really grinding too hard either, I stopped playing for a couple days and still feel like I'm going decently fast.

  • Killer games are almost always very easy at low levels but you'll manage to soon get survivors that make you wanna throw the game away. I think the general assumption is that say survivor solo queue is always tough but once you get to know the killers better and get perks that make you comfortable it gets easier.

A good play against doctor is to remember that he can only follow one survivor at once. I know his shock makes it seem like you have no hope but he does not have a lot of mobility. Yes he can hear you scream, but if he's nowhere to be found you don't have to react. Everyone freaking out is what makes you lose the game because now he's herding you all together.

A good way to mess up Nurse is to run behind her when she blinks. Good nurses will not care about this, but most players suck at her. As for the others... well Spirits annoy me and I've only gotten basement camping cannibals. Hopefully someone else can give you hints!

I might be wrong, since I don't play Trapper super often, but space grabs survivors from his traps while M1ing downs them. Which is good for building STBFL stacks or avoiding DS, but otherwise there's no reason not to pick them up.

All other kinds of grabs rely on M1 taps.

I am amazed I never realized this LMAO. My past two games have finally counted towards the achievement, thank you!

  • I was practicing nurse last night and a survivor got really salty that I managed to sacrifice him when I clearly do not know what I'm doing with her (but he also wouldn't leave so that's on him too)

Anyways he started being really rude in chat but I was just so happy that I managed to hit someone with a blink that I said gg wp thanks for letting me practice nurse and his entire attitude changed. He actually started being nice and then said it was a good game after. I guess killing them with kindness can work sometimes.

  • @Laluzi said:

Grabbing someone from a trap isn't inconsistent for me? The survivor can't do anything that would desync the grab, unlike gen/hook grabs where they can cancel their connection to the object. Just walk up to the trapped survivor and press space.

I wasn't aware that space could grab them. I thought you had to tap the attack button?

  • I main Jake because he looks like a friend and I think it's funny. Otherwise it's Dwight because I like his perks.

For Killers I don't really main anyone, I haven't managed to buy new ones and none of the free ones interest me too much.

  • The trend is to go for more iconic killers. RE8 hasn't really gotten the chance to do that yet

  • Gotta take perks that allow you to see just how stupid your teammates are (bond or kindred) and play around that. I only really play solo queue because my friends don’t like the game as much as I do.

Escaping shouldn’t always be end goal either, it’s just not feasible sometimes. Two gens, two safe unhooks and two heals while getting chased for a bit will still grant you blood points while giving you a pip in most of my solo games. I’m only green rank tho so I’m not sure how this acts in purple and red.

I could not disagree with you more. In order to pip and rank up you have to do a pretty decent amount of actions,,, proper hook saves, healing, totems, running killer. If you just play the game and hide around the edges of the map that is playtime but will get you nowhere. However, in the obverse I cant tell you how many matches I have played where I did all of these things and either stayed the same pip/rank level or actually lost something. So your guess is as good as mine lol.

The pip system is the most confusing part of the game if I’m being honest. Sometimes I do horrible and I’m positive I’m going to lose one but nope here’s a pip because I guess I got chased a long time.

  • I play both sides equally. For very new players it’s equal but eventually you reach a point where I think it’s slightly survivor sided only because some killers are so weak and survivors can all have each other’s teachable so that doesn’t really matter. You can get by with the base game survivors just fine but trying out killers either means buying them or grinding for hours.

That being said I think the fighting in the community is also pretty useless. It’s an asymmetrical so it’s just the nature of the game. There’s not so many games even in this genre which is probably why people get so frustrated, a lot of other online games seem more fair.

  • I played against a doctor today on the swamp map. He was chasing me and I got stuck between a rock right in front of him but he didn't hit me. So I looked up at him and started crouching to show I was friendly and he ran off to somewhere else.

The match was really fun. I kept finding him randomly and he kept nodding at the pallets, I think he wanted me to stun him so I did and he would run off somewhere else after breaking them. When the exit gates opened I was the only survivor that stayed with him and helped him break another pallet.

  • I main trapper because he's fun but yeah, he is not the killer you play when you want consistent 4ks

  • I don't think survivors should be punished for playing with friends. There is an obvious issue with balancing and I understand that swf can be annoying, but punishing a rather large portion of the community seems unnecessary.

I know you're not asking but feel free to add me, my name here is the same as it is everywhere. I'm a solo survivor main and if you'd like to play with someone who's also somewhat new (6 weeks for me) maybe we can match up and offset the horrible ranking system a bit.

Otherwise, my personal advice (just what worked for me anyway) is to get aura perks as soon as you can. Dwight's Bond plus Dark Sense and Kindred really help to make you aware of your surroundings in a match. The third perk is up to you. You don't have to follow this advice, but I found these perks to be lifesavers when learning the ropes. Still use them a lot.

I appreciate this, thank you. I’ve recently switched from using Bill to Dwight and it’s incredible how useful Bond is. I’m hoping to get Bill’s teachable because I do miss BT when I play Dwight. And thank you for the code too.

  • Sometimes it's good and sometimes it's very bad. I've started using bond more in solo queue and it has been my most useful perk with the lack of actual communication. Although as someone else said actually seeing how my teammates are messing up is funny and frustrating on its own.
