I wanted Mr X and Claire instead of Jill but I guess it's fine, would have been worse if it was just Nemesis and Jill. At least Leon is there to save the DLC.

The same people who nerf killers based on kill stats are making a system that measures how good a player is. Ho boy.

This map is so badly designed. For killer it’s an indoor map so it denies 80% of killer powers and for survivors most the pallets are completely unsafe and the killer doesn’t even have to break them making it super easy to catch survivors and honestly takes no skill. There’s no window loops so if you’re facing a decent m1 killer good luck.
- W-what!? K-killers are rightfully complaining about how Haddonfield has infinites and The Game is pallet town and requires no skill from the survivor's part!? NOT FAIR! I wanna complain too! Let's see which map I can complain about... uhhh *throws dart* Hawkins!

I just played 4 matches as the most toxic insidious basement Bubba. It was fun, would have been more fun not having to do it by not getting an undeserved 2 man escape with keys since BHVR refuses to nerf them, so I'll keep camping.

And I definitely do understand not wanting to go on a several minute long chase - like I understand the way the game works. I am just baffled by how short the chases are. I used to be red rank consistently and I don't remember chases being this non-existent, especially not for other players.
When a 'chase' is turning one corner and taking a few steps I just don't see how any of that is fun for either side. Which is why I started this post, because maybe that is fun for Killers! I'm almost exclusively a Survivor so it was worth asking. Thanks for answering!
Downing someone fast is fun for the killer. If any killer here tells you they enjoy being looped for 3 hours they are lying. The sooner you end a chase the better you are, you just won something and even got rewarded, it's a nice feeling.
And even in the remote case downing someone in 3 seconds was not fun, it's still a hell of a lot more fun than getting gen rushed and t-bagged at the exit.
So if you want longer chases have your team afk. I have no problem with 3 hour chases when there are just 2 survivors left because I know the other one is just camping the hatch.

- i think they might be since most of the time license killers are pretty solid
Only one that's solid is Freddy, they gave him a lot of powers and made him interesting, the Dream World was a pretty cool idea. But looking at how the other ones are "stalk until you fill a bar" or "crouch and get booped" then I don't think they will do a lot of stuff with the new killer.
They did promise new ways to kill and escape though, but it would be awful if they put more effort into the new killer than they did with Pyramid Head. And they barely put any effort into Pyramid head.

I'm just going to say I hate the bloodweb. The fact that you need to go through millions of bloodpoints just to have a playable killer or survivor is crazy. And a lot of those blood points are wasted, I am looking at you bloody and torn blueprints. its just such and unforgiving neverending grind
Same. I already paid for the game, I shouldn't have to work for it to be playable or fun.
-
They are pretty lazy so I don't think so. Even making a killer who's power is more complex than "throw knives" seems too much to ask.

@latigresa said:
The problem isn't keys. Its hatch. A lot of survivors just hide and wait from everyone else to die and go for hatch. Red rank, 1000hr survivors play like this.
Hatch should only spawn for 5 gens done or 1 survivor left. No spawning but closed, no gens/survivor alive math. Either do gens or everyone else dies. Its playing the prisoners dilemma because if a person try to do gens and playing as intended, they will get killed while people who aren't contributing are vying for hatch.
Problem with that is that the final survivor will always get an escape based on luck and not skill then. At least with the actual system I can let survivors finish gens until the hatch at least shows up so I can slug someone and then find it. If it only spawns when one survivor is left killers will ALWAYS lose the game because of RNG.
If anything the hatch should never be invisible.

I dunno how long you've been playing the game but most patches are a buggy mess, even when there isn't a new killer being patched in.
Oh I know but it's not about the patch but the killer. I still have the Oni bug in which he gets stuck in the attack animation, or crash against invisible walls as Blight, and Victor is still a buggy mess, specially after that "fix" from last patch in which he can't properly jump through pallets and windows anymore.
-
You don't know the meaning of t-bagging if you think it's just pressing "ctrl" really fast.

@FancyMrB said:
I have had a couple matches today where I found myself playing hide and seek with the last two survivors. They did not attempt gens and were hiding from me.
This doesn't happen too often but when it does it can be a little annoying. I don't want the dc penalty but I also don't want to play hide and seek for 10+ minutes.
Would it be too OP if Whispers can become activated under the following conditions?
- 2 players left.
- A gen has not been repaired in 5 min or a chase has not happened in 5 min.
- survivors get a warning at 3 min that they must do something or else Whispers will activate for the killer. Getting in a chase or doing a gen would prevent it.
- if activated then it only lasts until the killer gets into a chase or a survivor goes down.
- it would never activate with 1 survivor. It would only be there to help locate survivors when they decide not to play the game anymore.
What do you think? Too op? 5 min not enough?
My other idea is to simply let killers open the exits gates whenever they want. That way if they are tired of searching they can concede the game without DC.
Happens to me all the time and I wish we had something against it. When there are two survivors left it just becomes a competition of who can let the other one die first to get the hatch. It drags on forever, specially in maps full of lockers. The killer has to watch for the hatch in case they find a key, patrol the gens and at the same time search the whole map for 2 survivors.
I'm still surprised the game doesn't have a timer. I used to run whispers all the time just because of that situation, now I just find someone and slug him for a bit and see if I can find the other guy, otherwise I just pick them, let them wiggle off, watch them do gens until the hatch spawns and kill them. It still wastes lot of time and it's not fun.

I am hoping the reason it's taking them so long is because they are reworking hatch entirely.
It'd be nice if they just replaced it with a final chase.
I wish but there is no way they would remove the free win with no effort required mechanic off the game. Survivors love getting free #########, it's why Spirit "stand still" kills infuriate them so much, they think only their side should have the easy victory.

I rarely get key escapes. And the rare time it happens. I just shrug and move on. It's not that big of a deal.
Good for you. I get key escapes all the time since people with keys just hide the whole match, let teammates die and if you find the hatch first they just open it again.
Keys need a nerf yet survivor players would rather keep crying about Spirit.

Tinkerer plays a very big part in the trio tho. It doesn't regress but it alerts you to which gen should be popped. Put that on someone like blight or nurse or even spirit and its disgusting. Even too good on m1 killers imo
What are you talking about it's complete trash. If the survivors are good they won't give you a hook for free. And you have 4 survivors to worry about, say you chase and hook one and go after another one working on a gen. Good, you popped 1 gen. What about the other 2 gens the other 2 survivors were working on?
I can't believe you're crying that those two perks are strong. Specially Pop, 25% is nothing in exchange for the effort and time you have to waste to get one hook.
-
Yup. Even worse when it bugs and you're stuck in the grab animation for like an hour. It's due to latency mostly and the game being a buggy mess.
-
In low ranks, yes.
Bill = Borrowed time + Unbreakable
Two of the strongest perks in the game. Getting rid of someone with Unbreakable that can completly turn the game around if you manage to down all 4, or someone who can give 12 seconds of invulnerability to someone you just hooked is extremely helpful for the killer. As an opposite everyone knows Lauries ALWAYS have DS so they are never tunneled.

@LazyPayday said:
Someone was discussing giving killers the option to just change their fov and not have it limited to a perk. So I got to thinking, what would new shadowborn do? Here's what I came up with, while under the effect of insidious, your movement speed is increased by 3/4/5%, lowers back down when in a chase or insidious is loss.
To be honest, I don't really think this would be incredibly broken, the chase part is really only there for Ghostface as he's the only killer I can think of who's basekit allows him to be insidious while also in chase. It'd promote stealth killers more and be a good addition to stealth builds without ever being broken.
What do you think? Something I'm missing like it'd be broken or weak?
It would be really good paired up with Tinkerer on slow killers too. It sucks when Tinkerer tells you the gen is about to pop but by the time you get there it already was completed.

- A Anthropomorphic Fox Survivor?
Ah, Kpop wasn't enough now we need to bring in the furries. As if the forum wasn't full of creepy people constantly making Dimistrescu or Kate or David porn threads.
-
- An escape for just yourself isn't a win.
I'd say 100% of survivor players disagree. I'm getting tired of them doing ANYTHING they can for the hatch. Winning the game fair and square? Nah, but letting teammates die, or camp the hatch, or use a key, or having your SWF DC so it immediatly opens? Hell yeah.
"Nooo nooo Spirit can't stand still! it gives her a kill with no skill required!" but everyone seems to be ok with an insta win magic door that spawns on the floor with no skill requirement.

All survivors should spawn hooked in the basement when playing Bubba

the reason you see more salt than gg is because the majority of the survivors who die...aren't going to wait 8 minutes for the game to end just to say the letter g twice in succession. They've already had their peace and moved on
You already have to wait 6 minutes to get a lobby in the evenings, no ones going to wait UNLESS they want to be toxic.
- no ones going to wait UNLESS they want to be toxic.
Nothing more satisfying than someone who dies or DCs at the very beginning of the match staying the ful time just to trash talk
-
I'm lucky if they say gg in good faith when they win. Usually they just gloat or cry. I think i've been told to kill myself more times when survivors win and I play like ######### than when I do the heaviest dirtiest camping + tunneling + slugging ever.

Any game with a survivor rage quitting is an automatic win
Eh, I've had 4 matches in a row with different SWF in which the 3rd guy always rage quits when I down him so the last guy can get the hatch. Then I get t-bagged and mocked. I don't consider any of those 4 matches a win despite it being a 3k with 1 escape that came from a trashy exploit.

It's funny how it SUDDENLY started out of nowhere, He got that buff a while ago. Yet they choose this precise moment to be loud.
I wonder if it's because they get mocked when they cry about Spirit so they moved onto another killer or some streamer cried about Wraith and now they all follow like sheep. Could always be it's one single survivor and making all the threads himself.
-
Because it's one of the few games in which being bad is funny. If you miss skills or whatever in LoL or Overwatch or CoD, etc you just lose and nobody finds it funny. A baby dwight crouching the whole map and failing easy pallet saves is hilarious.
Dunno why it bothers you though, throwing is literally the least harmful thing someone can do. Specially compared to other people who "play toxic for fun" and in their content constantly call the killer trash and try to humilliate him. Even "wholesome" streamers like Otzdarva have videos to humilliate killers titled "Never play like this killer" and spends the whole match criticizing him.

A lot of people may actually just wait it out such as myself (+teamates) and look at the killer wander around the map trying to patrol gens even though none of us are actually on one lol.
This was the reason I stopped using it. Specialy as Myers. Survivors just refuse to do gens and proceed to just hide for 2 minutes. Unless you have whispers there is nothing to do, and if you do find someone and start a chase the other survivors will just pop the uncorrupted gens

What if playing as best they can is how they have fun? What if intentionally holding back is not fun for them?
Good for them but I doubt it. People who play to win only have fun when they win. Which means there is no room for laughs in the meantime and if they lose, what do they do? jump off a bridge?
Nobody told tryhards to stop being tryhards, people just comment about it in disgust because you ruined their fun or whatever. Crying camper or gen rusher sure as hell doesn't stop anyoen from doing it, so why would tryhard be different?
Sometimes people just look for an explanation as to why someone tryhards though, like, if I see a SWF sending me to haddonfield with 4 balanced landing popping gens in seconds and using a key to escape I do wonder "why?".

That is fine for THEM. They can play as chill and low effort as they like. But that doesn't give them a permit to make fun of people ACTUALLY trying to give full effort.
- But that doesn't give them a permit to make fun of people ACTUALLY trying to give full effort.
They don't need a permit to do it, you know that right? Speech is not restricted by loisences. And I don't follow, you don't get to say "Ha! Tryhard is such a stupid word! you're not insulting me you're complimenting me!!!" and then throw a tantrum when you get called tryhard.

I mean, both sides are trying their hardest to win, are they not supposed to? Like, calling someone a tryhard is just letting them know that you are frustratingly good.

Twins. No one plays them because they’re so boring to play as and against and encourage unhealthy gameplay. I like running around with Victor at times but it gets old so fast so they need to give this killer something more interactive.
- No one plays them because they’re so boring to play as
Do people seriousy find the Twins boring to play as? I understand against since Victor just massacres a team that refuses to heal and can just park on top of a downed survivor to completly negate unbreakable or rescues.
But to play as? Victor is EXTREMELY fun and it's super satisfying to have vision on parts fo the map. You can leave Victor or Charlotte guarding a gen or survivor while you do something else.
Who finds Twins boring?

They are busy making more shirtless David skins so porn addicts spend more money on the game to care about balance.

They make the player's eyes not bleed. I miss old Coldwind but holy ######### if it wasn't annoying to even look at the screen while playing it.
Hopefully Autoheaven and Swamp are next

No thanks, even with a penalty i'm tired of survivors DCing so the last guy can get the hatch. If they remove it they will do it even more often.
-
He's not bad, he just gets gen rushed. And instead of realizing how poorly balanced the game is, players choose to blame the killer. Trickster is 10/10 at killing. Sucks in Haddonfield but everywhere else he's fine. But since his kit is all about 1vs1 and has no mobility even when you down someone on the very first 10 seconds of the match, a gen will pop by the time you hook him.
-
@DBD78 said:
If you play Hag without Corrupt you can lose 2-3 gens while setting up your net, but you can afford it. It's less stressful than playing killers that only chase around all game. So let the gens fly, then let the fun begin.
You can also use end game builds on your killer, that makes gen speed tolerable.

I am not bad at killer, i am red rank already and i have +%60 wins already. But i really hate losing gens so fast. I mean that makes games so sweaty. I have chill games as killer so rare. Always i have to show more effort.
Ruin is not helps, survivors finding it so fast. Even i protect it with Undying.
Pop helps little but still gens really so fast. So how you are dealing with that. Any tips? And i am patrolling gens as well, Freddy is good with that but still so many times i am losing 3 gens in start.
You don't, because you can't. Anyone telling you otherwise is lying. The average killer gets his first hook by the time 1 or 2 gens pop. There are 4 survivors in the game and they are not always stupid. People bring up Feddy but he can't teleport at the beginning of the game.
Gen speed is bullshit and "scaring survivors out of gens" does nothing, you scare them and they come back, you hit them an they still come back. The only way to stop a survivor from doing gens is hooking them. "Apply pressure" is a meme.

@CluelessWanderer said:
I'm so frustrated. I have no idea how red rank Killers persevered through the absolute shite to go through the ranks, but I have a feeling camping and tunneling was the only way they felt they could win. And I say this as a survivor main who gave up playing Solo survivor because I just can't stand the camping and tunneling anymore lol.
I decided to try to learn Killer because I really like the premise of DBD, those scant few games that are actually well played by all are really fun. But the other 95% of games are just exercises in demoralization. I play on PS4 and I already feel there is a difference in mobility compared to PC. On console, I have never been able to 360 around, gliding like I'm on ice skates as I've seen PC survivors do.
The thing is, just 2 weeks ago if I got a Lobby of Solo survivors I stood a chance to at least get 2 sacrifices, which I think is fair. I don't need to 4k, but it would be nice as the Killer in the scenario to not feel absolutely mocked and powerless. For one thing, SWF has a distinct, ridiculous advantage from the get go. I find I'm leaving more and more lobbies if I think that might be the case. Secondly, as a Rank 13, I'm constantly matched with purple, or even red rank survivors. So three of them will be red/purple, with ONE Rank 16 thrown in which I guess is how they landed with a low rank Killer?
INB4: My queues are quite fast. So it's not a case of there being no survivors my rank, and then the search was expanded to high ranks.
The other issue I've been having is the Rank 16's I get in my Lobbies PLAY like they're RED ranks. For example, I had a Rank 16 Yun Jin that somehow knew every loop, every tile, ran around with a tool box sabotaging my hooks- teabagging me at every pallet, *clicky clicky* and in the post match stats had amassed the most bloodpoints. How in the hell is a Rank 16 that amazing? Like, I'm sure someone will post that it's a rare gaming wizard that just happens to know it all naturally. But I call BS. Either it's someone smurfing, someone who has purposely de-ranked, or something else. Then the bloody mocking, pointing, waiting at the gates and refusing to leave- every down I got they SWARMED the hook, all 3 of them, sabotaging the hook, flashlights everywhere- I just feel out-matched constantly. And it never gets any better. I feel too jaded and frustrated to continue trying.
So as much as I hate camping and tunneling playing as a survivor, I found myself so irritated that i considered maybe I should start doing that. Most of these survivors I've faced today don't even consider there's a human being on the other end of the Killer. I had to turn of my messages because mocking IN game wasn't enough for them. I need snide comments post-match as well apparently. Meanwhile, I've always kept playing decently, keeping survivors experiences in mind- but holy crap after my last bunch of matches? I'm ready to pack it in. It's just not fun.
Yes, I'm venting. I'll just wait for the inevitable bitter forumers to come tell me to "git gud" and the unnecessary vitriol I've become accustomed to here, but I'd hope that if you have nothing to contribute, save it for your life and keep things civil here.
Question to higher Rank Killers: When did it all start getting better? Did you have a moment where it clicked, or did you use a certain Killer when you were new? Do you drink copious amounts of vodka when playing to tolerate it? Thanks in advance.
- Question to higher Rank Killers: When did it all start getting better?
I stopped using meme builds and stopped playing for fun. When I don't tryhard something always backfires and now if i lose it's because of the hatch and keys and not because of the survivors actually being good or capable. But you still have matches in which you're "outplayed" by the ######### balance of the game like 4 unbreakables, 4 DS, 4 dead hards, etc.
Unironiaclly, "gitting gud" solves most of the issue, the problem comes that you shouldn't have to get good, you should play for fun, this is not your job or anything, like I know there are people with 99999 hours and 9999 posts in this forum who treat this game as their life and go around talikng like they are gods of the game, which is super cringe and sad.
But still, you'll end up improving by just playing naturally. You'll learn the types of survivors, how to counter most people, etc. Don't fall for pro player streamers that only upload to youtube their easy 4k and brag about their mind games cuz if you try those mind games in any of your matches the survivors will just t-bag you and say "gg ez".
-
- I've noticed that killers who shouldn't belong to red ranks by their quality of play are winning easily when i play solo/duo queue cause the other team mates are just giving him free stuff: free hooks, free downs, free trades.
Which is the core problem of the game. The killer relies on the survivor's mistakes instead of being able to shine on his own. And when a killer can shine on his own because of some power, like Nurse, Blight, Spirit, etc people come crying asking for a nerf. A good team of survivors vs a killer will always have the survivors win. Specially because of mechanics like the hatch or keys that give survivors a win based on luck rather than skill, a thing killers don't have on their side.
It's why everyone thinks Trapper is trash yet if you play him at red rank over 80% of your matches will end with an easy 4k. You rely on the survivors not paying attention and refusing to do another objective (disarming your traps) rather than being able to get the 4k on your own.

I would say it makes the game a challenge for killer, but not boring. Boring would be getting babies and stomping on them every game and considering yourself good. That's just my opinion though. A Good killer can deal with swf, and challenge the swf. The issue is the gen speed. Which yes I believe does need to be dealt with just like camping. I want the game fun for both sides, but I brought up tunneling/camping becuz of frustration because it's been outraged for the past couple of week.
You clearly don't play killer so why are you speaking on killer's behalf on what it's challenging or boring?

Here is were I know you didnt read it all. First never said 20 games in a row. I said 20 outta 24 games. 2nd never claimed about losing the games I said it's a boring strat and ruins the fun. 3rd gen rushing is when 5 gens get completed in less then 4 minutes. Not a gen popping for a hook becuz that's always gonna happen if the surv are good.
- 3rd gen rushing is when 5 gens get completed in less then 4 minutes
Well since you don't know what gen rushing is it's obvious you don't know what camping is either, so i guess we can all stop thinking you're delusional and making fantasies about camping and instead you just think the killer just breathing is camping + tunneling + slugging + hacking.
