Long time no see considering I stopped playing the game...jeez, almost two years ago now. But saw a tweet randomly that said this place was closing down, which is a real bummer (even though I became more or less inactive here a few months after I stopped playing since I couldn't really keep up with changes anymore).
One more Holly and Olive for the road for those of you who remember me. They're both doing very well.
See you Space Cowboy
-
I'm not sure how I ended up being remembered but I heard this thread popped up and therefore I had to Ego Surf and there I was!
So here is the reward (and probably the actual reason someone didn't forget Tippy)
(This is the basement so it's filled with junk but it's where Cat Food is and therefore my best spot to get both in one pic)

The anime has ended and…
(Potentially) bad news for you Dwight and Meg lovers. The compound they were staying at was attacked in the last few episodes. We never see Dwight and Meg again but at the end when the attack has been repelled and the main group is leaving the compound, Dwight and Meg are NOT at the Goodbye Party seeing them off. It's certainly not impossible that they were doing something else (or just escaped in the chaos) but that does make it seem likely that they did not survive the Nyandemic…
-
Some of you will pleased to find out that Meg survived the Nyandemic
Dwight too

That sounds cool. Also, haven't DBD announced collaboration with that before? Maybe that can explain why DBD poster is up there.
It looks like you are correct. There is no real information about what it is but evidently a DBD X Nyaight collab was announced in June of this year. So presumably something is coming down the pipeline at some point.

Been a while since I posted...well... anything as I've kind of quit playing DBD 😅
BUT I do still watch this thread and got a great Holly pic so...

nice beard dudeski
wish I could grow one as good as you
but I want the full puzzle eventually so for now I'ma keep guessing with that
Funny enough, that's not my "real" beard
I was actually just lazy that week so that's like..a week without shaving. I do have a beard but it's a shorter goatee that I keep trimmed down 😅
One day I might try a big beard again as I have the hair growth for it but for now at least it's just my goatee

Today in "Those cats are spoiled more than most people..."
Christmas went very well for the cats with sales!
I wanted a cat tree in the big bay window and bought the long one first but it didn't work well in front of the window so it was moved into The cat/guest room.
Then I found a more traditional cat tree for the bay window instead! I have flipped it around (so the box opening faces the window rather than faces the room). I wanted a cat tree that I could have there and keep the blinds open at night for them to look outside without letting the entire neighborhood see horrible…horrible things if they looked in my window and saw Tippy.

Now make them kiiiiiiissssssssssssss!!!!

If by evil you mean ADORABLE!!!!!, then yes, I agree

Good news bad news
Good news is all the kitties we had at the adoption place were adopted already.
Bad news is the Petco we used to hold cats at has decided they will be using a different rescue so Tippy's volunteer work at the rescue is coming to an end. Here are Holly and Olive pics to help ease the pain of this news...

The only reason I don't like recommending the Gold Edition is that they're all original characters, something you can unlock yourself through playing the game.
You do have to play a good amount of time before you have what you need to unlock that many people so it depends on how patient you are willing to be. The DnD chapter is one you'd have to pay for with real money (Branded DLC you have to pay actual money for, only original characters are unlockable for "free").

I've got 2 P100s and I'd go nuts for that much BP. I've been playing Survivor in 2v8 a bit because of the short queues and higher BP, it's a pretty great rate.
Granted I'm trying to P9 every single killer atm but still.
Hey, me too! Both survivor and killers. I've got the vast majority of survivors done and like…3/4 of the killers done. Slowly but surely getting everyone to P9

+1000% BP on surv queue 🙏
do it bhvrWhile I wholeheartedly agree with your suggestion, if 250% isn't enough to get people to fill up the queues, I doubt there's any number that will (maybe filled with a bunch of new players who just need BP but I imagine much of the player base is like me where BP means nothing).
-
What exactly do you want them to do though?
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more people want to do the 2 killers over the 8 survivors. Short of making survivors stupidly overpowered to make playing killer less appealing, I don't know what else they could do to fix the issue.
-
They've done studies on this and the average age of a gamer is 35 years old (and I imagine that number will just keep going up as my generation who grew up with games…well…keep growing up).
Especially given that unlike many hobbies, gaming is something you potentially could do…like…forever.

🤩🤩🤩 Oh my gosh you look so creepy!!!! Oh how fun! Did you get to scare the people in the train car? I hope so 😂
Also hope the fun helped distract from the pain somewhat.
It was our last 18+ night, which generally means actors are expected to touch and interact with guests a lot more. I was still gunshy about moving around too much so I kind of went in a different direction with what I did since the train car is pretty wide open (so hard to do jump scares, it's much more designed for the guy who is normally in there, who has leg pads on and slides down the car to scare the crap out of people but I obviously could not do that :D)
I basically stood in the middle of the train car twirling the big lollipop in front of my face to try to really emphasise the wonderful makeup job the makeup team did. I then would boldly declare that before they are allowed to pass me, one of them must face me in one on one combat. When one of them stepped up, I put my arms out to do rock paper scissors.
If I won, I basically became a little teenage punk who just won at Fortnite. I'd call them losers, yell at them to get out of my train car cause I don't let losers be in there. Tell them they're on the loser train to losersville. Etc. etc.
If I lost, I sulked. I looked at their hand, looked down at mine, looked at their hand, back down at mine, slumped my shoulders, and then tucked myself behind one of the seats mumbling to myself about how this was a stupid game anyway and that they were just big meanies and bullies and that I hope that the clowns (as this is the beginning stage of The Circus) would eat them.
Once in a while a customer would adlib something before I did my challenge so I had to just wing it but I'm mostly good at improv kind of stuff. Like one guy did a mime action when I was standing there so I just reacted to his miming before he "put me in a box" and trapped me. No idea why he thought that up but hey, I'll work with what I get if the customer does something before I get a chance to challenge them.
-
I will just be hanging out candy on Halloween. However prior to that, I once again worked at the haunted house
Like last year, I was mostly behind the giant snake puppet. He lights up, his mouth moves, and he makes hissing noises.
Unfortunately for me, my chronic pain issues really flared up and I determined the snake was just too hard on my body to continue. Thankfully there was only one show left and I was taken out on the floor instead of of being behind the snake (though I feel like the actor who replaced me behind the snake was REALLY bitter about it but I did it for 90% of the shows so suck it up! 😅)
I went into the clowns train car instead. You can't see it in this light but it has black lights in there so the makeup around my eyes glowed.
We'll see how my health issues go but I do really enjoy working there so I hope to continue to do so.

Lunar New Year was the one that always did it which is why it will always be my favorite. I think they did it maybe once or twice for other events before going back to only those on the gen when it finishes. It's been a constant complaint of mine that they don't do it for all events.
It's a combination of dumb/greedy mixed with the vicious circle of sweat. They make poor excuses for why they can't leave the gen even though it's nowhere near finished because they think they might not make it back before someone else finishes it - maybe they will get chased by the killer and no one will come to unhook because they're finishing gens or maybe someone else manages to finish the gen before they can make it back from unhooking and then there's less gens available for event BP that previously was the only/best way for decent event BP.
Obviously to those of us getting plenty of event BP outside gens this makes no sense but those that even during an event won't step outside "normal" gameplay it makes complete sense. Why we need to encourage them with "normal" gameplay event BP like everyone alive gets event gen BP and unhooks give event BP. That will hopefully get them to help keep us in the match so we can keep kicking respawning pumpkins and using the event can't see anything and will probably die smoke bombs. 😂

Happens every event where event BP is only given to the survivors on the gen when it finishes instead of to all survivors still alive in the match. People don't want to lose out on the event BP so they glue themselves to the gen. Too many times people do 99% of a gen only to get chased off and have someone else come in to finish it - person that does 1% gets event BP and person that did 99% gets nothing. They're not about to risk leaving the gen to unhook a teammate and lose out on event BP because someone else runs over to finish the gen. This also contributes to the sweaty matches - survivors try to finish as many gens as possible for event BP, killers try to hook as quickly as possible for their event BP, and it's just a vicious circle of trying to get as much event BP as fast as they can.
They need to make 2 changes in events for survivor event BP. 1. Give all alive survivors in the match event BP when a gen is finished and 2. Give event BP for safe unhooks. Survivors won't worry about missing out on event BP if they leave the gen for an unhook and they'll actually be encouraged to leave the gen to get more event BP by saving their teammate.
First, 100% agreed. Never understood why they changed that because iirc, it used to be EVERYONE got the BP bonus when a gen was completed
I'll have to pay more attention but at least in the game I remember (the last one that prompted me to write this), the gen wasn't anywhere near completion. I suppose they can still be stupid/greedy there, just doesn't make a ton of sense to me.

WAAAAAAZZZZUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unless an event is incredibly X sided, I feel like events usually make the BP Bonuses less charitable. I'd assume that's a balance thing since some events do end up with 100% (like Lights Out) on one side the entire time while other events like the current Chaos Shuffle never seems to get above 50% on any side (and for me at least, is commonly non-existent)
-
I've been of the mind that you could literally take anything and make it work in DBD
As long as they can find a way to tweak it to at least give it some horror spice, I'm on board with it. As someone above stated, Brightburn (which ruled by the way!) would work well. Plenty of villains with supernatural origins that would work well too.
I don't know if I'd love having a Superhero become a survivor though. Just because in order to make it work, you'd have to literally strip everything that makes them a Superhero away, in which case, what's the point of having them? Suppose though you could do Superhero Adjacent like Bruce Wayne or Mary Jane or Lois Lane or whatnot. But like putting Superman in the game as a hero and just nerfing him into the ground just strips him of everything that makes him Superman.

Easy, I still enjoy the game (I have 3,662 hours right now according to my Xbox).
Granted a LOT of my hours were gained when I first started this game (which was February of 2020 and a bit of an even happened that year) but I still pretty regularly play the game. I don't play 3-4 hours a day like I used to but I usually get a hour or two each day pending how I'm feeling.

It's super fun!
Other than that, no, there's no extra incentive to play Chaos Shuffle

This.
My first game as killer I was blessed by the Entity with Corrupt Intervention, Call of Brine and Pain Res. My second game I got a bunch of Terror Radius perks… with Freddy.
I think survivor is more fun than killer in this mode, tbh.
I got Undying Light!
…with no Totem perks 😅 -
This is the one event where I can confidently say it is NOT killer sided. The RNG of this mode affects both sides but most killer perks are just…bad. If The Entity does not smile upon you and give you at least one gen slowdown perk, you're usually cooked unless you're REALLY good at killer (or the survivors are really bad…).
I'd give the edge of survivors every game in this mode except the few times The Entity blesses the killer and actually gives them useful perks.
-
Wait a minute, there's something bothering me about this place…
I KNOW!
This place doesn't have a Fire Exit! Enjoy your Death Trap survivors!!!

Make sure you're actually revealing him correctly. He needs to be centered in the halfway point between the middle of your screen and the top of the screen. You DO NOT want him centered in the middle of your screen. If the middle of the screen is 50, and the top of the screen is 100, you want him at 75. He's incredibly easy to reveal, but most don't realize exactly where his reveal sweet spot actually is and assume he's broken. In their defense, the game absolutely does NOT tell you this sweet spot location.
Imagine the black box is your screen. The green box is where to put ghostie in your vision:
I've tried having my camera centered all over the place because I've heard that same exact thing (your character model "blocks" the camera from seeing GF so you need to have it in the top 1/3 of the screen so you're not in the way). Never seems to work and we just have a staring contest that ends up with me losing every time :D
-
I think items/add ons and perk levels would be cool to randomize too. It might be a little too far (particularly for the killer player) but randomize our characters too!
Let's just go friggin nuts BHVR! I want ALL of the Chao.
-
Not gonna lie fam…
I HATE with a Capital H A T E going up against GhostfaceI have no idea if it's a SKILL ISSUE or what but I swear I can't reveal him if I'm staring him right in the whites of his mask. Unless of course I'm playing as him, in which case survivors can reveal me if all they can see is the sash of my stylish killing robe…
Then he also has the mechanic that I legit can't stand for him; 99%ing
It makes zero sense to me mechanically and thematically why he can 99% people. He's not stalking me if all he has to do is look at me in the middle of an open area to put me into exposed and it feels incredibly cheap and unfair as there is literally nothing you can do about it.
So yeah, not a fan. I'll play against him when I have to but I don't like to.

Another thing to consider is that you don't really know that these "ragequitters" are serial ragequitters. They could have just been having a one-off bad game. It happens to all of us, and I can guarantee that everyone has gone next at some point. So I don't see this ragequitter lobby being utilized very much, even if it were implemented.
If someone isn't a serial ragequitter, then they don't have anything to worry about.
-
@CrypticGirl said:

I can assure you that ragequitters have already been on the other side of it as well, so we don't need ragequitter lobbies to let them know how it feels. Yes, it sucks when they do that, but I understand the reasons for doing so, as well as others who have commented on this thread.
Ok, let me rephrase this then
They should go into Ragequitter lobbies so they know how it feels AND they won't be able to interfere with people who don't ragequit the second anything goes wrong in their game. Ideally the Ragequitter lobbies will get them to stop Ragequitting but if all it does is get them out of regular queues, that's enough for me.
-
I had seen it on Twitter and now I can't for the life of me find it again so I'll just kind of paraphrase it
There should be "Rage Quitter" lobbies. Basically if you ######### and/or DC constantly from matches, you get put into Rage Quitter Lobbies where all the other players who Kill Themselves/DC constantly go. Maybe you'll learn a thing or two having to deal with others who constantly quit the game and ruin it for everyone else…
I don't like the idea of having that happen with regular lobbies and just marking them as "quitters" since now everyone has to do the job of avoiding them. Stick them all in the DBD Jail as you put it and make them play a few matches in there before they get to come back into civilized society

BHVR has always felt like it has a bit of a heavy hand when it comes to stuff like this but yeah, I 100% agree that this sets a really bad precedent and leaves a really bad taste in my mouth. Maybe it's only because this time it was outright admitted it was happening or maybe it's because usually stuff that gets nerfed to the ground STARTED super strong and/or overpowered and needed the nerf but something about this go around really hurts BHVRs reputation in my eyes.
The character was free for me (and I imagine many others) and she was not a character well liked so people don't seem to be super bothered about it but as you stated, I hope people remember this if BHVR decides to take a sledgehammer to their favorite thing in the game…
