    That's not up to you.
If you describe windows as a "death sentence", maybe it's time for you to lower your expectations on windows saving you and plan around them instead.

"The perk had a problem that it required a lot of organized team to make it work"

Isn't teamwork supposed to be the biggest chance against the Killer?
Plus the Killer usually has to do a pretty good job to catch them, so they should as well.

Isn't that the point? The harder they are, if you DO hit them, you'll be rewarded.

These devs are getting really weird.

What about on the trousers? Those clip and...unclip, very fast on lower quality settings.
Then again, these are the devs who made the Nightmare immune to Flashlights in a hotfix.

He wasn´t exactly immune. Or was that another bug uhm feature? Where he got blinded but could see normal?

He was immune to the blind itself is what i meant, the effects of getting blinded still played.
But it was nice, you wouldn't go completely blind while playing him for a while.

  • There's certainly some horror in the game that never gets not-scary.
Like seeing a 4-man SWF group enter with only bloody Claudettes with Flashlights, with all their names saying: "DbD's Balanced".
    Scary stuff man...

when the game was new and i thought it would be a nice perk to scare the survivors...

I don’t use it but I’d say I see it once every 5-6 matches as a survivor and it blows for the guy on the hook because even with borrowed time if the killer has half a brain they will wait until you’re unhooked to reactivate the terror radius so it totally counters it, but I feel like insidious would be a wasted perk slot because survivors will just genrush you and leave you standing like a idiot if they are smart

    5 to 6?
Wow, that's actually a lot to me.

With the emphesis on "seriously", like going for max BP, wanting to climb ranks or killing all Survivors.

    Thats a contradiction in itself

You mean you can't seriously use Insidious. Okay, got it.

    When I first started playing.

Still whip it out every now and then, usually only use it once or twice when I do have it equipped per match. You'd be surprised how well it works when used to set up proper ambushes instead of Hook Camping. Problem is thats it is too passive to be used seriously.

I'm sure i wouldn't be surprised, i'm well aware of what it can do.
I'm simply asking how many seriously bring it into the game.

They should've just hidden it behind the rock.

I once found one under the big rock on the right. It could be seen only by a certain angle. No screenshot though.

  • If they're coordinated using voicecomms and have experience, you're not gonna get a full win and will be lucky to get 2 kills out of it.
Such strength is disliked among Killer players a lot since it defeats the purpose of being the power role: There's no power.
If both play absolutely perfectly, Survivors would win eventually.

Devs don't mind though, since not many do this.
You know, which is like saying a principal isn't gonna punish bullies cause there's just 2 of them in the entire school.

  • Wouldn't be too bad.
You also get BP if you heal yourself and then stop healing yourself before you complete the heal.

  • It's quite a lot of info.

Wraith gets the initial surprise, then relentlessly tracks the survivor. Stealth might not be the point of the guy.
It's damn near impossible for me to escape a half decent wraith thanks to the tracking specialization.

I can see what you mean.
But Shape too has complete game changers like the 2 Mirror Add-ons and the 2 Tombstone Add-ons.
They drastically change how you play him. (Or well, you know, as drastic as the Power he wields allows.)

So where is the requeue lobby survivors have been asking for for years now?

Oh wait. Never happened, obviously because they only care about killers. :^)

Pretty sure they said it's something todo with their p2p coding. Lets hope they snag Death Gardens servers :).

I'm pretty sure the name is Dead Garden now.

I think they did a really good job with Wraith and his addons. The one with the bell heard in all directions and you can't locate him puts you on edge. I would actually be good with the Coxcombed Clapper Change other than breaking generators and pallets. Completely cloaked maybe too much to play against. No terror radius, no shimmer feels like an easy win.

I still have to figure out how a clapper will silence the Wraith himself though. :p

Tombstone Piece. Gotta activate Dying Light to slow down the game a little bit ;)

Well imagine that you kill someone before any Survivor touches any Generator. (I know, impossible, but imagine it.)
You'd get 100 seconds out of Dying Light in terms of repair time IF they all repair alone, that's pretty big.

  • At least this could show how many care about rank.

  • @fcc2014 said:
Making it take longer even if a few seconds extends the game and buys time. They will never take everything away it just won't happen. You still need 5 to play unless they introduce bots.

You say that while others told me the other day that "those extra VERY few seconds are totally useless".
I'd like you to talk to Tsulan how important you view those seconds. :)

  • So you wanna throw away a big advantage of the Trapper because you smash your button instead of just tapping it or, what most do, assign it to something that's not a button.

  • Once ranks actually mean something, i'll start worrying about this change.

  • @fcc2014 said:
@Boss i guess i'm naive i don't think they are afraid. They in a way did nerf self care. Increasing healing time not including sloppy butcher and/or clourophobia. They increased it now without even needing an add on.

The main problem that Self Care creates is still present, even in the new PTB.

  • @fcc2014 said:

    @sorrowen said:
Well they obviously are too afraid to touch the perk....

How are they afraid? The nerfed sprint perks, increased healing, and are working on the ds change. If it doesn't work how they intend and let's say instead of stun the killer 1 out every 100 games the killer is frozen in place the rest of the trial. How would that help. Maybe with the new obsession based perks the new ds doesn't offer a balance. Chill out they shrunk to of the worse maps for killers, increased heal time, and spread pallets further apart.

You can't really exclude the "They're afraid" option anymore, since that's literally the reason for them not nerfing Self Care.

I don't dislike either happening to me (especially Moris, they're a cool way to go out), but i can only tolerate so many in a row.

Except horrible wait times to get to a game I've had pretty good experience with PTBs but this time I won't be joining since there is pretty much nothing interesting for me there. Such a pity.

The results were not satisfying for our team, there will be more details about why it wasn't good enough in it's current form during the YouTube Q&A on Thursday!

Is it perhaps that the giant Skill Check wasn't big enough? :p

  • @Sinner said:
When you got a hillbilly, nurse and now spirit with BBQ, it seems that survivors are doing everything else but doing gens.

    You will say:
Hide behind gen - that almost never works since the auras are still visible behind gens
Stay within heartbeat range - you can't do that either, since the killer will camp the hooked survivor and you won't be able to save him

Even if I use those two counters and they somehow work, most of the teammates I get don't, and I have to rely on them to survive/have a fun game.

I agree this perk is fine as it is for killers that don't have powers which increase their speed, but for those that do, it's just too strong.

Increase the range to something like "when they are further than 70 meters" or make the aura only 2 seconds. This should make those killers less op.

70 meters still isn't gonna stop a Hillbilly from getting to faraway Survivors quickly.
And even just 1 second is enough for anyone who remembers they carry B&C to check for auras.
Not that i even agree with the changes, but they wouldn't change anything except make Killers camp harder due to the lack of auras appearing after the change.

  • @Tsulan said:
The real question is: not satisfying for whom?

Well they got hit hard with negativity from just talking about touching Self Care, so i'd wager they wouldn't be satisfied with touching DS cause they'd probably get death threads from the horrible Survivor mains.

    What is MLGA?

It started out as a very useful tool to check the ping in a match before the devs added that feature into the base game. During that time, it was whitelisted by the devs.

It quickly devolved into a method of blocking players and learning the identity of killers before the match started. It was then un-whitelisted.

Ironic because killers can already do this by default. As if being able to check survivor steam profiles adds anything positive to the game.

That´s no the same, and you know it.

MLGA put killers on a black list, for playing as Freddy and other bullshit reasons.

What's stopping killers from manually leaving games with survivors for bullshit reasons?

You have not learned anything from the past, have you?

Survivors shared the MLGA lists where killers names were black listed because they played Freddy, used NOED, killer had skill or any other ridiculous excuse. Then those very people spend their time dodging killers. Which led to extreme lobby queues for both sides. This was only caused by survivors dodging. Not by killers dodging. You want to be able to see killers before the match. What makes you think that this time it would be any different?

Survivors got WGLF nerfed, because they hook farmed their teammates.

Survivors prevented the introduction of camp save hooks, by abusing the mechanic.

Yet you behave like that was the work of the killers.

I guarantee you, if survivors can see the name of the killer, the lobby queue times will skyrocket again, because people just don´t know how to behave.

So instead of both sides dodging, we now only have one side dodging. You're telling that the worst case scenario is worse than a bad scenario.

Why is it that one side is still able to dodge with no regard?

It makes no sense to me that 20% of players are allowed to police the behavior of 80%. The same exact argument applies except to a smaller scale.

20% has some degree of power over the 80%.
    Sounds like civilization to me.

    That's 2 addons

Shush you, I'm trying to sneak an extra one in without notice.

    NOTICED!

  • If they do, you'd see a lot of Killers unjustifiably getting dodged 24/7, purely because they beat the Survivors or play in a legit but undesired manner.

  • I read the message the Entity gives me when the trial ends, before the scoreboard.
Positive message = i did well.
Negative message = i did poor.
If i go for "Everyone must escape with me!" or "I must kill everyone!" every match, i'd go insane.

  • @The_Fallen_Utopia said:
@Boss I see. Well I mentioned in an earlier comment that I was going to make a build using those 2 perks you just mentioned with Overcharge. I'll have to get it to level 3 on the character and see how the build does.

I wouldn't depend solely on all those Perks btw.
An Overcharge Skill Check made smaller by Unnerving Presence can just be countered by not touching the Generator until the Terror Radius is gone.
And Hex: Huntress Lullaby is a Hex Perk, not to mention Survivors know about its existence as soon as they repair Generators.
It's no fool proof plan and even good Doctors can lose the Hex very fast thanks to RNG.

  • Well i started from the very beginning, so choosing one wasn't hard since there were only 3.
Used Wraith to just dump BP into everyone by using the many bugs that existed back then. (Like getting BP from hitting someone on the hook.)
He was my main and i simply love how he plays.
Moved over to Hillbilly later though, that distance he covers is the absolute best.

  • It's okay, but it's one of those that shines way more if it's in combination with other Perks.
I myself can hit Overcharge Skill Checks just fine, even the first one cause i always expect them to pop.
It's when someone runs a good Hex: Huntress Lullaby or Unnerving Presence that things start getting really ugly.
