Does it even matter, when it goes live? I mean the changes and bug fixes are fine and stuff I'm looking forward to, but it's just a MidChapter patch. Not really anything to be hyped about.I saw a lot of people starting to ask about it so I decided it was about time I posted the unofficial guide to patch release dates again.

oops
that was supposed to say tuesday -

Huntress came out on a Monday. Other killers came out on a Tuesday. How would either of those be possible for Xbox if what you say is true?Ever since the 2.0.0 update all the updates come out at the same time for all platforms. No you make it sound like it is impossible to release them on other days.

As a PC player, what I understand from this is that even if the dev team wanted to release them on Saturday, they won't be able to do so because of console policies.
It IS going to come out either on Tuesday or Thursday but not because it can only come out on those days but because the devs want it. @brokedownpalace is right here. You are not very clear with your statement and honestly It misinformed me.
I don't see how.

Well, I really like that changes. It's a little harder for survivors (something needed) but in that way the killer can't snowball quickly after killing. The skill check change it's pretty interesting and not so boring like it is right now. But if you are rewarding the stealthy playstyle for survivors, the killer's aura reading shoud be changed I guess. Maybe some of them do them like Rancor perk I don't know. And for the end, that penalty to killer for camping it's just perfect.PS: Sorry if I wrote something wrong
PS2: I've written all of this from my perspective like a survivor main, I'm not any pro or something, it's just my opinion haha.Thank you! This is a project I have going on that's about 4-5 months in the making (hence revision #4) and it means a lot for people to read through the whole thing and see their opinions. I do agree that stealth should be a bigger part of the game, but I'm still working out in my head how it should be done.

Dev stream countdown starts in 48 minutes.
Check the twitch then. -
I think that's a good idea, but what if the gates spawn close together? The gates take 16 seconds to open at base, and if the killer has NOED or Remember Me, then the survivor is screwed. Not all situations are just "one survivor waits for hatch while everyone else dies". Is the survivor just supposed to die? Even so, if the killer finds them, and somehow the survivor loses the killer, it would just go back to the killer checking the doors.
-
@TangledNoodles said:
I see a lot of people saying that surviving should be "tough". I don't mind dying as long as I get a decent amount of points. Usually the killer gets the most points (unless they're brain dead) and that's fine and all cause they're in the game longer. But sometimes even after escaping I feel like I'm barely getting anything even thought I feel like I was all over the place, and the only time I feel like I can get a decent amount of bloodpoints is if I use "we're gonna farm forever" with no other benefit other than getting extra points. Unlike BBQ which gives you more points AND shows you survivor auras when you hook someone.
If you get tunneled or camped that's barely any points, most of the time you die with 15k points while the killer has 25k - 30k and then BBQ on top.
Can't survivors get more points for little things? Cleansing totems, self healing or healing others etc?
Yeah, I can hardly break 18k-22k bloodpoints everytime I play survivor, yet make over 28k-32k bp all the time with killer.

From the information that has been leaked, it looks like this event may even be worse than the Hallowed Blight event. When is BHVR going to realize that survivors need cooperative events; otherwise, greed takes over and no one wins. I’ll definitely be playing Killer only for the entire event, though the gen rushing is not at all going to be fun.Not really...I'm assuming that all survivors will be rewarded when someone collects, and only the killer is rewarded when he destroys. Instead of pitting survivors against eachother, it pits the team against the killer.
-
If it's like rocket league and fortnite and you have to pay for premium, then absolutely not.
If it was a replacement for the leveling system that'd be nice though. -
hmm.
To your first point, I do agree toolboxes need a significant nerf (Engineer's toolbox is a .25 charge increase?!), generators do not need a TIME increase. They just need to be harder to complete, some different kind of minigame besides skillchecks.
To your second point, and I do say this genuinely, get good. If you care enough to memorize structure spawns and shapes, and practice red stain mindgames, you can outplay survivors. Don't just follow behind them.
To your third point...yeah. Maybe there should be a "clutch" mechanic that takes a lot of work for the last survivor to escape, but the hatch just gives a free escape. Kinda stupid.
To your fourth point, totems are just RNG based and that's the risk you run. There's no reason to punish a survivor because you chose to run an RNG perk. Just stop running totems, or run a totem then run ToTH.
To your fifth point, that's kind of unnecessary. The game is based around making difficult choices, and leaving a survivor behind is a choice you can make. What I think is that there just needs to be more score events for the "Survival" category, to compensate for people who don't get the 5000 escape points. -
Don't use hex totems then. They're pure luck either way, you know that right? If you run Hex: Ruin, you're banking on survivors NOT spawning next to it, the totem being in a good spot, AND the survivors ability (or disability) to hit great skill checks. Just run something else. Sloppy butcher, STBFL, knockout, nurse's BBQ, pop goes the weasel, overcharge, etc. Don't complain that something sucks if it's based on RNG, because that's the risk you''re running.

If Insta Heals are a problem, the only direct counter would be Franklins. It's just a matter of knowing when to expect it. When you see someone with a Med-Kit Healing always assume they are about to tap it into an insta-heal.
On Billy this shouldn't be much of a problem, as a fast saw hit will trump it.
On Spirit I'd say depending on the Map if you are really worried about it try Rancor, Haunted Ground, or even Good Old Devour Hope.
NOED never hurt either for a little extra insurance.
Remember when playing Killer there is no Made up Code of Honor, Ethics, or Morality.
You kill, or you fail. How you do it is entirely up to you.
Yup. Which is why I've decided to go rouge and forget my survivor rulebook while I'm killer. I'm definitely going to run @AntiJelly 's build, slugging is super fun as Nurse. I wonder how it is with Spirit who is so good at chasing.
Lol, on a side note, I have actually had a game where I slugged the first person with knockout, and his teammates couldn't find him for so long that he just D/C'd.
-
eh, I'm not trying to downplay these horrendous people here, but it's not every game this happens. Not once in a blue moon either, but it's still moderately rare, you just don't remember the normal/good games. It's the bad ones that stand out. I've noticed a considerable decrease in toxicity as well, at least within the last 6 months.

Alright, listen. Hex: Ruin? You can trash it for this: Nurse's Calling, Sloppy Butcher, Knockout, and a perk of your choice. You can use knockout to essentially take someone out of the game by leaving them on the floor then finding someone else, and then sloppy butcher makes the healing take longer. You can then use Nurse's to spot people if they do find the downed person, then take advantage of that information. I usually run BBQ as my 4th perk for the bloodpoints and pressure potential.I might run Deerstalker for my last 1 if I want a slugging build. I'm going to level her up and get knock out to tier 3, that sounds like a ridiculously strong build lol. As Spirit, should I guard close gens or should I patrol the whole map?
Eh, that's a general killer question. It depends on the setup. Say if you have 2 gens left, 3 of them are close and 1 is far away. You might as well let that 4th one go and protect the closer 3. You just gotta pay attention and use game sense to decide what to do.

Devs can't do anything like that until dedicated servers. I believe as soon as that comes out we'll be seeing harsher punishments, but it's just a theory.

Still having the bug where billy's chainsaw stops in front of a survivor and denys the hit. I'm already used to it that it happens if someone gets a sprint burst due to i-frames, but if this happens in a normal chase I'm really getting pissed. Why is this still a thing? 2,5 years now and the bug is still in the game as if this should be part of itNo, ghost hits aren't there anymore, but the first person view is mis-aligned with the actual chainsaw in-world. It's just a weird, misleading discrepancy, but there definitely are not ghost hits anymore.
-
Rank isn't broken, it acts "as intended". The problem is that it just blatantly sucks. As survivor, you're rewarded for being a jack of all trades in EVERY match, which sometimes isn't possible with gen jockeys/people who get chased all game. According to the ranking system, a good survivor can do 2-3 generators, several hook saves and heals, several minutes of chase, and survive the entire trial un-downed. This simply isn't possible, and the ranking system has to be changed again or else players will continue to be pitted against each other with insanely varying skill levels.
-
Nice off topic thread. I'll chip in.
Better dead than red, my fellow compatriots.
-
Kills do not equal fun or balance.
You should be able to play a match and, even if you didn't have a single kill, at least have a lot of fun.I think the emblem/ranking system is partially to blame for how people play this game, and how they envision "balance". Just because the silly ranking system that makes kills 50% of your score doesn't mean that's what matters. BHVR has made an amazing game that is super fun, addictive, and different every time, but they cannot for the life of them come up with a good ranking system, or get a very good grip on how high level players play the game.

@AlwaysInAGoodShape To be fair, most of the killers in Tyde's tournament were just awful. Like rank 20 all the way through. Their survivor play was also very bad. I mean just watch the first game of the one with Trapper or Myers. It's like the guy just bought the game that day it was so bad.Not to discredit your post. I agree with it. But I wouldn't go using Tyde's tournament results as evidence when majority of the participants were just plain bad players.
I don't think it particularly matters if the players are good or not, the death-efficiency problem exists at all levels of play.

The fuming mixtape seems like poor effect to have on an Ultra rare add-on, and the Iridecent button, While I like the pallet break effect, 1. Doesnt always break the pallets , for some reason, and 2. Having the terror radius effect the entire map Is not only gimmicky, but it leads to Feral frenzy showing you targets that you absolutly cannot get to, and as there is no way to decern distance during the feral frenzy pips, It just seems like a not-so-good thing to have on an Add-on for legion.Personally, I dont think either are great options.
Thoughts?
I think they've been lacking in the add-on department ever since Pig. Add-ons are cool and all, but Pig, Leatherface, Clown, Spirit, and Legion all have really boring add-ons. Just my opinion tho.
I think Pig and clown have great addons. Leatherface needs all of his addons reworked. Pig and Legion need some of theirs reworked too.
Compared to Doctor, or Myers, or Trapper, or Freddy. I just wish they would think about add-ons more, instead of making them random "+10% (speed/cooldown/duration/etc)"
Myers has some really good addons and has some useless ones. When stalking with EW2 you see the auras of survivors who have been stalked for 2 seconds. Sounds really fun but it's actually rubbish. Some of his needs reworks.
Well, Myers is really the only one who has, in my opinion, correct ultra rare add-ons. I think ultra-rares should change HOW you play the character. For Myers, it does exactly that.

Hello everyone!A few clarifications on our strategy for the Winter Solstice.
We didn't want to hype up the Winter Solstice with teasing and pre-announcements since the winter celebration doesn't have any gameplay addition.
Events with gameplay modifyers and rewards require a team on-site to make sure everything goes according to plan. Since the studio is closed for the holidays, we wanted to make sure the players would still have something to enjoy in the game that wouldn't require an on-site team to manage.
The only outfits that are tied to the Winter Solstice are the Killer Frosty Eyes.
Happy holidays!
Some rest is always needed, wishing you all the best. You did a pretty good job so far!

They should really keep in mind that the latest chapter is sheit, brings no horror.

Well, there are two de-pipping methods. The first is disconnecting after loading into a game. For each game it's -2 pips. The second is AFKing as Wraith or Freddy (So you don't get chase points). For each game of these, it's -1 pip.
I DO NOT CONDONE THE USE OF DEPIPPING
(but I do condone the use of informing people of certain information) -

Insidious: While Insidious is active, Survivors within 3/6/9 meters auras are revealed. This modest aura read aids in the purpose of getting the drop on Survivors should a killer choose to hide behind walls or around corners they suspect survivors will be.Surveillance: Survivors who fail skill checks outside your terror radius have their aura revealed for 3/4/5 seconds. This includes failure on generators, healing, snapping out of it, jigsaw boxes, etc.
+1 I think Insidious should kinda be reverse kindred, similar to how you suggested.
Also any kind of buff for surveillance is a good one. -

Three left I find all survivors hook each of them evenly after downing them all they start getting unhooked to the stage where they were all on last hook. No gens done. I go for one survivor who is last hook down them they rage quit. Hook and kill the other two I message the rage quitter from the match and ask them why there response "Three of us and five gens to repair". Is this community full of salt. You just gotta get over it. After over 1,000 hours this stuff gets really old. You can set your steam/xbox/ps4 messages to "friends only" if need be.

I'm not sure where you're seeing 15,000, unless you're comparing peak to off-peak numbers (or even peak to average), which would be silly. Steam even shows a peak of over 25,000 so far today. The player count is fairly normal. The 60,000 peak was right after a massive update- the biggest in the game's history- and during a free weekend to boot. Even if you're super optimistic, there's no way you can compete with free weekend numbers without it being another free weekend.
I am looking at the off-peak, because it's during the time that I can play. It affects me quite a bit, having 15 minute killer queues and all. I don't like being forced to play survivor.

Sure. Let's believe that for a second. How would you fathomably know more about player count than a program designed to track the amount of players playing a video at any given date?

The whole idea of the shrine release back then in 2016 was to give players the ability to get DLC perks without owning the DLC itself.
Now, can we hold on a second and think when BBQ&C was in the shrine last time? September 2017. How often? A single time.
The shrine needs to offer 8 perks in total, 4 for survivors and 4 for killer. Every update gives us more perks, it's time to tweak the shrine around this. It can't be stay like this at current state.Eh, that's a bit much. I just think if they'd put in an algorithm so that the perks that the shrine selects are slanted towards DLC perks AND perks that players actually have the least, it'll even out pretty well.
