@Tzeentchling9 said: Credit where credit is due, they definitely listened to Survivors' complaints about Hallowed Blight. All they complained about was Survivors' side objective not progressing the match, now all they have to do is rush gens and run out the gate as usual. Yea they only have to do all that while avoiding someone that can kill them? lmao - the way killers on this forum talk about how easy it is for survivors really makes me believe most killers sit in corners until the match is over.
It certainly feels that way with how fast I've been flying through the gens this entire event. It has not been uncommon for us to have at least three gens done before the first hook. That's a problem with the killer, not the survivors. If you can't end a chase in ~15 seconds, then you're either a bad killer, or you need to give up the chase because the survivor is better than you.
Lulwut? 15 seconds? So what, you only every chase someone in an open field as Hillbilly? I don't play hillbilly. I play mostly Wraith, you just need to get better at mindgames. So only play against blind Survivors, gotcha. The dude ends chases in under 15 seconds with Wraith, I think you need to show him more respect. Clearly we have a legend amongst us. I mean some maps have multiple ultra safe pallets all together which made me think it wasn't possible but apparantly this guy plays Wraith like he was Nurse.
I'd love to see some gameplay footage.
Ideally. Ideally, you should end chases in 15 seconds. If you can't, give up the chase. You will lose so much pressure if you take longer than that. There's so many people who just can't give up for the life of them, and I really don't get it.
And before you come back with your Holier Than Thou speech about MiNd GaMeS. We have math on our side to back up our claim. Getting a hit stops you for what, three seconds? That's a fiveth of your time there and they got a speed boost. Break a pallet? That's two seconds of you not moving. Bloodlust? You've already used up your entire 15 second allotment of time to hit teir 1.Β
Feel free to provide evidence that contradicts the math.
Blade wipe animation lasts about one second, survivor speed boost is two. If you're chasing in a straight line, yeah, you won't get the hit. You aren't supposed to break pallets all the time. The only pallets you have to break are usually structure pallets. In a usual situation: You find a survivor at a gen. You get the hit as they run from the gen, they get the speed boost (maybe make a few turns) and you blade wipe for one second. Now the survivor is at a basic pallet, they throw it down as you approach. You start walking around it, they loop it once, and as you are about to catch up to them, they vault, but you moonwalk and lunge hit them. That should take about 15-20 seconds.

They definitely learned from their mistakes during the Hallowed Blight. This event is much, much better. Matchmaking is normal, backend servers aren't crashing, most players are playing normally, and you can actually get the cosmetics within a reasonable timeframe this time. Keep up the good work devs!BAHAHAHAHHA!!!!
What a generous contribution to my post. You truly have bestowed upon me the greatest gift.

Add in an unstable wait time for survivors, lobby dodging, bugs and you get this. For me, lobby times are normal, and hardly any lobby dodging. Maybe it would help if you took off your prestige? Also, the only bug is the one that makes it so everyone gets lantern points.

I did say though, that it is biological in my theory. I theorized it was plant-based.

Unless I'm mistaken I thought the matchmaking changes were in effect. It's why PS4 survivor queues have become tests of patience. No, the update hasn't come out yet, unless they went back on what the changes were. They originally said that the lobby would put four survivors together, then put them into a killer lobby. Right now, it's still the same thing of just readying up solo or with friends, and waiting to be put into the killer lobby.

They're also dropping a lot of cryptic hints.

Has there been any update from the license holders on whether or not new cosmetics can work for movie licensed characters? I really think Michael, Laurie, and Leatherface could greatly benefit from this because there a lot of options between Leatherface's many faces and outfits, Laurie in a hospital gown from Halloween 2, H20 Laurie, and granny Laurie from Halloween 2018. The old-man Myers mask from the latest movie would also be great to see.Sadly, there's no news on it. The devs keep their licensed stuff under tight wraps. I know at some point Mcote said he was discussing with the licensers, but that was months ago.

Hey, I've been wondering if DBD will still be going strong with updates and patches on PS4 and Xbox One even when the next consoles get released? Will the game be supported on the next gen consoles? This is a subject I have been dreading to ask because my hope is DBD won't be going away from the console market once they make that jump. That's when DBD #2 comes out
The devs have said they intend for dbd to last at least for the next 5 years.
-
I guess if you always ran SWF and started playing as soon as the event started, it might be possible. I'd be very skeptical though.

Reviving this post because I'm calling it right now that Benedict Baker is going to be either the killer or survivor of Chapter 11.

Definitely some different opinions. I personally think the 2 you liked the most (Clown and Legion) were the WORST ones we've had yet. I couldn't wait for those 2 to be gone. All the rest were much better imo. My favorite was probably the winter solstice theme.idk, the other ones were bland. I find myself having to turn off the default music and a few others due to the droning headache they give me.

Agreed. But it would be tedious to do. 13 separate songs and more coming?
I think there are a handful (6-8?) of different heartbeat themes right now. They could be tweaked to fit specific killers, then they could add a couple more for the rest. I'm not sure how they might "theme" the songs though.

I think the devs want the removal of scratch marks to stay only for "Dance With Me" and the reduction of vault noises to stay only for "Quick & Quiet". In my opinion, I think Lithe should just activate when exiting a locker. That's effectively the same thing as your idea.
-
Yeah, the devs have some weird complex or obligation that makes them punish bad behavior instead of rewarding good behavior. In general.
-
I think that would be great. I think something that gets overlooked a lot is the animations in dead by daylight. I think they should focus the next midchapter on updating animations on a ton of killers and survivors.
-
The hatch can spawn on any tile that has a chance to spawn a pallet. So quite a lot of them.

I think my favorite killer animation wise is Freddy. They really got him down PERFECTLY. I absolutely love playing him just because how menacing it feels.

I want to see more games get the level of personality that Overwatch has in its animations. It'd be great to see just little camera tilts or small actions with the killers' hands that just portray their personalities.

@Master is right.
We are developing the same game on different platforms. The builds are identical apart from tiny bug fixes.
Changing something as important as hitboxes on the console version would mean we would have to support 2 different games. This isn't something we are able to do.As Master said as well, shipping the builds on different days doesn't make them different builds
So, are there plans at all to do something about the sensitivity? Or, at least make Nurse/Huntress playable on console?

Clown can stop looping decently well. Here, the common loops:
T+L Walls -
Clown can gas the survivor and usually end up getting a hit, these are very unsafe loops.Double L's with Pallet -
If the survivor sticks to the long L wall, the Clown cannot break the loop and is forced to break the pallet.Jungle Gyms -
Based on the variation, if the pallet is next to the short wall, the clown can bait out a hit. If the pallet is on the long wall, the clown cannot.Junk Tiles -
Clown can usually bait out these unsafe pallets.
Certain loops he can't though. He can also throw gas to force pallets down faster, as their speed is temporarily decreased they can not go around another time. And for the longer loops the gas in combination with bloodlust can be used.
The fact of the matter is, he still is forced to break pallets. It's about a 50/50 that he can get a hit. He, along with Leatherface, are the bottom of the barrel for killers. They do not have pressure on survivors outside of chases.

Master said:Clown is quite bad, but not as bad as trapper and freddy
I agree. And because reverse bear traps are completely RNG and can do 0 impact if luck is against you, I would put pig below clown aswell
No. Trapper is better due to his loop shutdown and map trap pressure potential, but Clown doesn't have that. He can get hits at loops sometimes, but he cannot apply map pressure. I would say he's better than Freddy though. Freddy's power relies solely on RNG.
-
Meh. This is a problem with a lot of killers. They cannot apply pressure to survivors outside of the current chase, or can't get from A to B very quickly. Clown doesn't have map pressure. Leatherface doesn't have map pressure. Doctor doesn't have any pressure. Pig has close to no pressure. These are the worst killers (besides Legion) in the game right now. Legion is in some weird spot where you have pressure, but can't chase.

It isn't that difficult. They have working versions for each platform, it's not one singular entity that they update. For something like this, they should allow leniency due to different input devices.
No, there are no differences between the PC and the console version.
Yes there are. They have, multiple times, have had different platforms at different states.
Name them
Every update before 2.0.0 they've updated every platform at different dates. This 100% indicates that there are different live builds for each platform.
Yeah sometimes the builds have shipped on different days, but that doesnt change the builds were the same.
Well, to tie back to my original point, since there technically are different versions of the game (Without actually differing) it is entirely possible to have different hitboxes and hurtboxes on consoles. I'm not sure why you think there aren't, but I don't want to drive this off topic any more.

I'm on Xbox too, the only time I whiff is when I get frame drops. It happens more some games and less others, there's not rhyme or rhythm to it. But when it doesn't happen I don't find it hard to track and hit survivors. I play on 80 sensitivity. You can 180/360 hits and you can flick too, but I prefer using strafes to line up the shot (what Tyde has called crabwalking in his console vids).I keep my sensitivity at 85. Sometimes I get survivors that I just absolutely cannot hit. I'm talking me backing up, waiting, and crabwalking all for naught. IMO survivors should lose momentum when turning.

This is a problem only when you use low to medium settings. On consoles, this happens in every match.
