Devs, please address this console issue

As most of everyone knows, controllers are a slightly inferior input device compared to a mouse due to the lack of sensitivity and accuracy it allows.

The main problem here is how survivors are controlled. Survivors don't have to "aim" for anything, instead allowing full, if not better movement than a mouse since they only have to move around. The joysticks allow survivors to pull off trickier movements as well, and it really shows. On the other hand, killers are extremely limited due to not being able to "flick" like a mouse. This creates a huge divide of skill cap, which is very very dangerous, due to how higher skill survivors can already lead a killer on a game long chase.

I have ~1,200 hours and still miss hits on Xbox, due to the combination of bad frames and lack of flick. I'd really like to see this fixed somehow. Anyone who has suggestions on how to fix this, feel free to comment!

  • Agreed. Hitboxes should be different from console to PC due to inert input.

The thing is, killer swing hitboxes feel completely inconsistent as well. Sometimes they're 180 degrees in front of the killer, sometimes they're a tiny 60 degrees. Something needs to be fixed.

  • There will never be two versions of the same game they have to develop, you can be sure of that

How can you be so sure?

Because then they need to develop two version of the same game? Its a buisness afterall....

  • I'm on Xbox too, the only time I whiff is when I get frame drops. It happens more some games and less others, there's not rhyme or rhythm to it. But when it doesn't happen I don't find it hard to track and hit survivors. I play on 80 sensitivity. You can 180/360 hits and you can flick too, but I prefer using strafes to line up the shot (what Tyde has called crabwalking in his console vids).

It isn't that difficult. They have working versions for each platform, it's not one singular entity that they update. For something like this, they should allow leniency due to different input devices.

No, there are no differences between the PC and the console version.

I keep my sensitivity at 85. Sometimes I get survivors that I just absolutely cannot hit. I'm talking me backing up, waiting, and crabwalking all for naught. IMO survivors should lose momentum when turning.

Yes there are. They have, multiple times, have had different platforms at different states.

Every update before 2.0.0 they've updated every platform at different dates. This 100% indicates that there are different live builds for each platform.

Yeah sometimes the builds have shipped on different days, but that doesnt change the builds were the same.

Well, to tie back to my original point, since there technically are different versions of the game (Without actually differing) it is entirely possible to have different hitboxes and hurtboxes on consoles. I'm not sure why you think there aren't, but I don't want to drive this off topic any more.

  • Maybe we could have an input for killer where you can quickly turn around, 180⁰, kinda like in Left for Dead for the Xbox (If I remember correctly it was in that game)

You just said it yourself, there is NO DIFFERENCE. I dont know what else I have to say

Sure its possible to have different versions of the game, but that would mean developing 2 builds and as I said, its a business.....

  • @Master is right.
We are developing the same game on different platforms. The builds are identical apart from tiny bug fixes.
Changing something as important as hitboxes on the console version would mean we would have to support 2 different games. This isn't something we are able to do.

As Master said as well, shipping the builds on different days doesn't make them different builds

So, are there plans at all to do something about the sensitivity? Or, at least make Nurse/Huntress playable on console?

  • lol broken ass hitboxes.
No wonder DBD is becoming barren day by day.
