  • I'm not quite sure what's going on here, but I've been doing a bit of testing. I get the envelope, same as everyone else in a game with 5. I 3k. Maxed out on everything besides sacrifices, trying to use a variety of hooks (which with No Boil on every second survivor is no treat). My BP: 45k. Survivors: 40k (died at 3 gens remaining), 55k, 56k, 65k. Add to this the fact that survivors get fr

  • 8 games thus far. 2 were against 1500+ hour squads. Either there are a lot of survivors right now or something is badly off with SBMM. I got absolutely curb stomped, like 1-2 hooks every game. 2 were against bully squads abusing the new boil over to take the game hostage on Eyrie and RPD respectively. 2 had multiple people DCing within the first minute of the game. Then I realize that the e

  • I'm astonished this went live as is - it should be called 'Grief On Ye Crazy Griefer Man'. In my 5 games today, 2 of them have been people using either an Eyrie offering or a RPD offering and some sort of anti-slugging perks to essentially take the game hostage by refusing to finish the final gen and just sitting in the library/main structure. With Boil Over as is, you are forced to fall to ho

  • Brilliant! Seriously, I wish that more characters had voicing. I'm not sure what procs his 'waste of good suffering' line, but I'm now actually looking forward to playing him. Somewhat.

  • By the numbers, especially factoring in his power versus newbies and how much this offsets kill stats, Wraith is really struggling right now. Have been watching some high MMR Wraith gameplay recently, and two things I've noticed: COH hard counters him. A recent game with Otz saw a duo literally outhealing him mid chase with a bit of body blocking. A single survivor with a flashlight that know

  • Or...well, anyone else that wants to try this. So, this is what I'll be doing - in an attempt to both improve my game and also as an interesting experiment. A little challenge that should work for anyone from the lowest to the highest MMR. It's designed to: - Improve my fundamentals. - Get better at chasing, gamesense and skill use on all killers I own, not just my favorites. - Give me

  • So, overall the QnA was actually pretty good. Some things I agreed with, some I disagreed with but overall mostly positive. I'm especially interested in the SBMM changes and the Dead Hard rework. There was one thing that was pretty concerning - but it takes a bit of reading between the lines so bear with me. A while back, several killers received pretty harsh nerfs, despite being considered mid

  • I've literally never played in this period - what is the event generally like? Is it unique every year?

  • On the microscopic chance you are reading this: I was playing Wraith. Your Head On gave me a legitimate heart attack. You cheeky bastard :). Anyone else had some really fun, crazy games recently? That one was a madhouse. I've been doing a personal challenge: not to kill anyone before I've 2 hooked everyone. It's been challenging, and that one... Struggled to get hooks early, kept getting

  • I think I ended up with about 12m in total. Unlocked BBQ on almost all the killers I didn't have it on (took me over 5 million to get it on one...literally the last thing I unlocked, sigh) and stocked up on addons for Demo, Myers, Artist and Hag. How about you?

  • Just had one of 'those' games - Cenobite, against a pretty good 3man SWF on The Game. Ended up sweating for 2 hooks. Literally...nothing I can do, every pallet used, every loop exploited. Just a really mean, nasty game - and of course I get teabagged and told to uninstall in postgame. Another horror is RPD on Deathslinger or Huntress. Or Haddonfield on...basically anyone.

  • Well, that was pretty funny. Playing some Myers games, queue up and see the same SWF trio that I just played against. Kind of a mean bunch who sent me home to Haddonfield with two further hook offerings and a really nasty sabo crew. I dodge. Queue up again - same lobby. Leave, wait 5 minutes, go bio, get some coffee. Queue up again - exact same lobby. Okay then. I switch to Hag, queue up a

  • So yesterday, I queue up and get matched against a Steve. Check his Steam and hah - turns out he lives pretty close to me. Very good player, close game but eventually I hook him twice and they start struggling. Suddenly boom , I DC. Chalk it up to my VPN pooping itself and forget about it. Twenty minutes ago - same player. Almost exact same scenario - good start, then he gets hooked. Starts s

  • Queue up, fire up Cenobite. Get to offering screen, 3x further hook offerings and a Haddonfield offering. Someone DC's at loading (not me, I swear).

  • A lag switcher, a teabagger, a flashlight clicker and a Meg who goes AFK in a locker walk into Mother's Dwelling... Seriously, this is why I don't bring streamers anymore.

  • I'm sure everyone has experienced this. Multiple games in a row where someone DCs the second they get downed, hooked or someone else does. This not only results in the other 3 survivors having a miserable game and probably losing very quickly, but it also makes things annoying for the killer. Now, it's understandable that there are rare occasions where someone will have connection issues or ha

  • Seriously, note the trees on the map of your choice. Same 2 or 3 models rotated slightly. No, you'll never be able to unsee it - and neither can I.

  • So after some insanely frustrating games as Myers, I decided to let the Demogorgon out for a walk as I'm pretty confident on him these days. First two games - someone DCs instantly, then people give up. Ugh. Next, get sent to The Game. Oh joy, looks like a full stack SWF. 4 cakes is always an indicator. Actually end up doing pretty well with my 'sonar' build (Whistle+Lining) and wind up with

  • It feels like something was tweaked recently. Yesterday and today - instant killer queues, but the worst matches I've had in ages. Just sweaty group after sweaty group, all incredibly BM for some reason - with me struggling to get a kill half the time. Anyone else see something similar? Before yesterday, matches felt normal. Now...I have no idea what's going on.

  • Especially over the weekend? I'd say - yeah. Hunts are just wonderful - they cut the utterly obnoxious BP grind in half and make even losing games rewarding. People bring out the streamers and, by and large, seem to be in a bit more of a pleasant mood. Events can be a little wacky sometimes (Snowmen...argh) but they can be pretty fun. A valentines event could be interesting.

  • Always wondered about this. You knock someone down, and they waggle from side to side. Is it BM? Are they saying 'don't pick me up?' Did they poop themselves?

  • No idea what's going on. I decided to play a bunch of Cenobite today, using his 'Original Pain' addon. It gives you a deep wound if you are injured and break a chain. I swear, at least 5 different survivors in 5 different games ran away, started doing stuff - and went down. Got yelled at in postgame for hacking. Is it just that nobody plays Cenobite post-nerf, and people just never see him? O

  • For me, it's a toss up between Plague and Demogorgon. Both are strong, but not broken. Both have depth and counterplay. Both can be powerful if played well. Both have excellent addons that can completely alter the way they play without making them a meme. Artist comes close in terms of her kit, but her addons let her down. Myers has the opposite problem. Great (mostly) addons, but an outd

  • So I've been thinking about this recently. I've been trying to play more survivor, primarily to improve my killer game (I'm at that awkward intermediate position where it feels like I'm plateauing a bit) and...man, it really does get tedious (and at times quite...gross) rather fast. The major issues are: Far too many survivor perks are really, really dull. It's not that they are weak - far fro

  • Woof, tough night. Really just trying to have fun with Scratched and Vanity Mirror Myers, actually getting pretty decent on them - but wow, do people not seem to like this playstyle (especially Scratched). DCs the second I start getting hooks, endless teabags if someone gets away and of course, several variations on 'just play the game normally'. Survivors...I'm not sure what you want from me h

  • What recent moments have you had where you discovered something you didn't know before regarding DbD? Mine was - 'there's a way to get Ruthless while not sacrificing any survivors on certain killers'.

  • Just finished my last game of the night, played against a Hillbilly called 'SquirrelPuncher'. I don't know why, but that just tickled me. 'Better Wrong Than Dwight' was also pretty decent, in a dad joke sort of way.

  • Apologies if I'm missing it, but I'm not seeing anything. Does it usually come with the next patch? For some reason I thought it would be today.

  • Title. As far as I know, he's the only (or one of the only) killer with their 'meme' addons not being a brown or yellow. Most killers have at least one addon that gives them a wonky, disadvantageous playstyle in return for more BP. Plague has her tablet, Pinhead has his nail etc. I really have fun with spoopy Myers, I just wish I could do it more frequently.

  • For me: Playing Scratched Mirror Myers. It's donkey poop, but dammit is it fun. 'Red Stain' Doctor with Dark Devotion. Blastmine. Monitor+Shackles on Hag. Yes, I basically enjoy jumpscaring people.

  • I'm sure a lot of people are going to say Alchy Ring, but honestly - Tombstone Piece is hilariously silly. Change it, give Myers help elsewhere (I'd make 'stalk juice' reset slowly on survivors so you don't arbitrarily run out of your power on longer games).

  • As in, which are the most likely to sulk, teabag or act the fool? For killer, most toxic is almost certainly Bubba. Although Doctor somehow brings out my inner villain too. Least toxic killer - I've found Artists, Myers and Demos to be pretty chill. Survivors, most toxic is generally either Ash, Ace, Dwight, Steve or Nea. Nancy's get an honorable mention for their tendency to DC. Least toxic,

  • I'm very tempted to say Demo. Fantastic addons (mostly), opening up very different strategies. A nice balance of traversal and anti-loop, without feeling oppressive. High skill cap but low skill floor. Plague is another.

  • Without running niche, gimmicky perks just in case someone uses it. Wondering if some veteran killers have any solutions. Some maps, particularly Eyrie, RPD, Pantry, Badham and sometimes Midwich have hook spawns that create a situation where there is only 1 viable hook in an area of the map. SWFs/duos run a sabo build and basically have someone run to this area the second they are injured, and

  • Which bad/non-meta perks do you still use a lot? For me: Surge. It's not weak but it's certainly not brilliant - it's just such a satisfying perk to get off. Dark Devotion. Fearmonger. Monitor.

  • Wondering if anyone can puzzle this one out. So, queue up on Cenobite (yes, I was in a vaguely masochistic mood) and got sent to Eyrie versus a 3man SWF. Ugh, fine. Do well right off the bat, actually end up wanting to give at least 2 of them the gate as someone brought streamers. However... At multiple points through the game, someone would pick up the box and solve it quite rapidly, but in

  • I'd probably say 'Demo', but I've literally never played against one. I enjoy facing Hags (unless they camp), Artists, Doctors, Myers and Cenobite (well...I've faced zero since the addon nerfs, but they were fun). How about you?

  • It seems to be a thing since the Christmas event started. Was getting stable 60 fps before the event and big spikes after. I thought it was just me, but watching a few streamers...they are also experiencing it.

  • For me: If someone has been mannered, I'll usually give them gate. Especially if they've been fun/played well and was let down by their team. If the other side has a DC and sticks the game out, I'll almost always give at least one person gate, sometimes two. On the other hand, if even one player is BM, it's die time.

  • Closing in on 350 hours, so decided I'd write up a list of observations regarding the behavior of survivors based on their choice of avatar. Very curious as to where you agree/disagree. Tapp - Rare, generally very skilled. The god of pallet stunning you the second you pick a survivor up. Runs weird perks and makes them work. Jane - Desperately wants to use her Head On, even if it tak

  • So - just played a game on Midwich. I was the Artist. A Leon kept jumping into a locker in the middle of the central 'outside' area. I could detect him with birds, but could not open the locker. Initially I got the 'lag stutter', then I couldn't interact with the locker. He claimed not to know what it was postgame. Has anyone seen this before?

  • Forget power - what is the build/killer combination that you play when you want to have fun? For me: Demogorgon. Addons: Both Iris. Build: Gift of Pain+STBFL+Pain Resonance+Agitation I call it 'The Grabber'. Find people, pop up within range and grab them right off gens. Doesn't always work but man is it hilarious when it does. PR+Agi means I get back to grabbing as soon as possible and nev

  • Just got done with this one - oh man that was nasty. It's basically the Adept Doctor, but slightly easier. DCs do not count as kills either, from what I'm seeing. Took me 7 tries to get it and didn't have to resort to camping or slugging, but I have a feeling there are going to be a lot of very irate Doctors running around over the next few days. So - if you see a doctor running Overcharge

  • For whatever reason. Fun, power, survivor, killer, go nuts. Mine are: Killer: Surge/Jolt. Yes, the cooldown can be a little much sometimes but there are few things more satisfying than landing a really juicy one on multiple gens. I enjoy it so much that it actually makes me lean towards more M1 killers these days. Pain Resonance. Much as with Surge, I enjoy being able to damage gens wit

  • What is it that you like about either role, or dislike about the other? For me, as a consumate killer main who very occasionally dabbles in survivor: Survivor: Pros: Much more relaxing. Gives you a lot of second chances. So many good choices for perks. Teammates can make up for my mistakes/shortcomings. Cons: I'm dependent on other people. There isn't much variety to the role. De

  • No idea what's up this afternoon. Not 1, not 2, not even 4 but 5 lobbies in a row full of SWFs with 1000-3000+ hours per player, tons of TTV types and the like. It's not like I've even been winning thus far today.

  • So it seems the Christmas season has brought out the grinches (or worse, Dwelfs) in swarms and postgame has been...pretty spicy today. That said, some of it has been so hilariously mystifying that it just makes me laugh. My favorites thus far: Game 1: Bit of a rough one, a Dwight (it's...always a Dwight) decides to jump into a locker, probably to deny me STBFL/Surge on Hag. I just pooped a t

  • I'll probably give you the gate. It's just too funny. On the other hand, if you are trying to use them tactically...you are now my unofficial obsession. EDIT: When you escape with a snowman suit on, can you see it in the postgame screen? Honestly, I'd let survivors that manage this keep the suit.
