Okay, this one...still chuckling about it. Currently learning survivor, very rough games yesterday with the MMR test and apparently it's still going. Anyway, spawn in with a Dwight, a Meg and a Nea. Get chased almost immediately by a really scary Cenobite that was constantly going Undetectable (likely Chatterer's Tooth). Game is neck and neck, we finally get clear and myself, the Meg and the11 comments 143 views last activity

A fun little challenge. I'd say: More robust communication tools for solos - start with the new status effects that were bandied about a bit back and add in some proper, map wide symbols or pings. This should narrow the gap between solos and SWF and make it a bit easier to balance killers/addons. Rebalance MMR to account for lobby dodges and prioritize match quality a bit more over queue time47 comments 601 views last activity

Reported the scoundrel postgame, but sadly I don't record all my matches so I don't think anything can be done about it. At least I was able to give the killer a kill out of all of this. I wonder how many of my 'so...how exactly did I lose that?' games looked like this from the other side. I mean...what do48 comments 1,001 views last activity

Trying to pip up past gold as solo is like punching yourself in the coin purse. I've had teams literally just leave me on hook, absent any camping, after I ran the killer for a lap and half of the map and they did 3 gens. It's way too easy to depip as a survivor compared to killer if you aren't able to both do a goodly amount of gens and unhook/heal folks. The 'distraction' bonus you get feels35 comments 511 views last activity

When I'm not trying to learn survivor these days, I've been experimenting with some really wacky but still somewhat effective builds on killers. Probably my favorite has to be Nemesis with Plaything, Call of Brine, Discordance and Tinkerer - using Ink Ribbon and Shattered Badge. Ultra fast zombies plus constant loud noise notifications on gens, plus me being frequently undetectable...it was pa12 comments 141 views last activity

So, the other list. I'm going to exclude Legion and Ghostpants here, as they are getting a rework. The Onryo. Man, to see this killer released after the amazing work BHVR did on Artist...weak. Of the three components of her kit, only one feels impactful (and her teleports still have a punishing cooldown, super simple counterplay and a huge RNG component). Everything else sucks. Looking overall - power, addons, kit, visuals, audio: which killer in the game is the closest to perfection design wise? My picks would be: Plague. While the current overcleanse meta is actually quite effective against her (still don't have a good answer for it) she has it all. Excellent addons that completely shake up your playstyle? Check. So as part of my little 'el-reverso' challenge, I've been maining survivor for the past fortnight in the hopes of...well getting some more BP on the 13th. I mean - getting better at a role I don't play much and seeing what life is like on the other side of the window vault. Some observations. Camping...oh man, do I see this too much. Conservatively, maybe a third of my games have a killer hard21 comments 511 views last activity

Honest question - some Legion stuff is being removed. Do the existing items removed convert into it's new corresponding item, do you get BP or are they just gone? Just realized that I've never thought about this.6 comments 131 views last activity

Have been playing a fair bit more survivor recently. While I think there would at least be a loose consensus on the killers people dread seeing, which ones make you happy to see? For me: Demo. Rare, tend to be pretty mannered. Plus, every Demo feels different - from the 'battle demo' types to the ones that ping pong all over the map. Strong enough to be interesting, but not overwhelming. So currently going over this series again because I'm really trying to get a handle on this killer and...wow. It can be genuinely painful to watch at times. For those not familiar with Otzdarva, he's a DbD focused content creator known for doing win streaks on killers with either 4 perks and no addons or (rarely) 3 perks and one addon. Some takeaways: He tried STBFL, Hex focused builds, Hex f92 comments 2,731 views last activity

So I'm going to be doing this as of today, I'm calling it the 'El-Reverso' challenge. Basically, for the next grade cycle - I'm going to be playing survivor until Iri 1, and only doing dailies on killer. Naturally, for you ambidextrous folks, this won't do anything - but for me, I'm going to try to get better at a role I'm awful at (seriously, I can barely look behind me without running into16 comments 181 views last activity

Feels...odd. My survivor games were really, really easy (just...a lot of facecampers) - my killer games were very challenging. Queue times were okay for both. I'm not sure if this means that it was more accurate (I'm an awful survivor, but a fair killer) or what?6 comments 121 views last activity

Actually quite encouraging, as the devs do seem to be asking at least...some of the right questions. So I was curious as to how you approached it/what you think about it might indicate for the future of DbD. My cliffnotes version: Huh. Are the devs going to implement my 'endorsements' suggestion? :) I'm glad to see that they might be shifting from their 'we consider smack talk to be an importa35 comments 551 views last activity

So...the more I play this killer the more I realize how weak she is, especially as more survivors figure out how to play around her. While I know BHVR aren't willing to help her out right now, I do hope that she gets the love she needs eventually. To that purpose, here are 5 easy fixes to make her better. Get rid of the silly lullaby. There's no reason for her to have it, especially with her9 comments 131 views last activity

Personally, still trying to figure out Onryo, but always find myself rotating between my current learning/fun killers (Ghostface, Myers, Nemesis, Spirit) and my workhorses (Hag, Artist, Cenobite, Doctor). Call of Brine definitely helped move me back into the standard 'kicking gens' playstyle on some killers.58 comments 571 views last activity

You know - perks that are really, really good but don't see enough usage. On killer, mine would be Discordance. It's basically almost all the upsides of Lethal, but works all game and can even interact with killer powers (zombies!). So good on killers that benefit from finding multiple people regularly. A close second would be the combination of Plaything+Pentimento, especially on killers with53 comments 521 views last activity

Otherwise, were looking at maybe 3-6 months until she gets the help she needs. Otz recently did a tier list, and - as a 'hard' killer - you'd expect her to actually start to shine with someone who plays this game semi-professionally. Nope, he rates her towards the bottom end of C tier. Keep in mind that this means she's sharing ground with 2 killers getting a rework soon, 3 killers widely consi40 comments 731 views last activity

So, with MMR testing underway, I thought that it would be a good chance to ask the devs (or anyone else in the know) to clarify certain things about the system. Now...keep in mind that dominant wisdom on these things mostly comes down to urban legends - stuff that has been asserted in the past, but nobody remembers where it comes from or - when it comes down to it - if it's true. This is something that I often wonder. When I play killer, unless the enemy team is really cocky and BM, I generally feel bad 4king - especially if it's been a good game and they just got unlucky with a potato, a DCer or a single misplay that turns into 3 downs (seriously people, stop trying to sabo so much! It tends to lose you the game). I'll often let the last survivor go, or sometimes even76 comments 931 views last activity

Seen this a fair amount recently, and just ran into it again. Queued up on the goodest boy, survivor immediately DCs. Next game, someone suicides then hangs around to tell me off in postgame. Apparently: 'it's not fair to play Demo because nobody can buy him anymore, so they don't know what to do against him'. Just a weird day, or is this a...thing now?18 comments 171 views last activity

What are they? I know when I did my little challenge that required me to play all the killers, two stood out as 'okay, let's get this over with'. Billy: Ugh. Just...ugh. Title. I'm sure anyone that tries to push Iri 1 rapidly on killer will have spotted this. Essentially, killers with an instadown (or worse yet, a mori) actively take penalties when it comes to grade, while killers who are capable of inflicting many hits quickly rank up like crazy. For instance - I've 3k'd on Myers and got Brutal, but 1k'd on Wraith and got Ruthless.14 comments 301 views last activity

The good: Visual and audio design is stellar. Skin is awesome. Mori is awesome. Some addons are pretty interesting. When the stars align and TVs spawn in useful spots, they are an okay chase/traversal tool. Her perks are fine. The bad: Her height is both a blessing and a curse. As in - what keeps you playing? For me: Finally we have multiple viable killer metas (honestly, 4 of them that are pretty damn good depending on killer). SBMM is getting tweaked to be a bit less bonkers. More frequent events. Some buffs to terrible survivor perks, one or two aren't bad now. Incipient change to reduce the grind. Look, I'm not going to lie. I love this game, as does basically everyone else on this forum - whether they admit it or not. It's very hard to get annoyed about things that you don't care about. That said - this game is starting to struggle, and a big problem with that is the foundations are shaky, and where they've been repaired it's been with tape and bubblegum - meaning that the more floors ar37 comments 412 views last activity

Thoughts? Weirdly, that's exactly where I put her. Low to mid C tier, below Wraith. She doesn't need a lullaby, for starters - and survivors need more of a reason to handle tapes/TVs.99 comments 2,883 views last activity

I've played 16 games with her today and feel like I'm starting to get a grasp on her. TLDR: She's extremely cool in theory, but needs some more love and doesn't play how you'd hope she'd play. She brings approximately nothing to the table that other killers don't do, and better - making her feel like a huge step back in terms of design. The Good Her visuals are striking and very different.22 comments 571 views last activity

And it actually made me legit depressed. Got stomped 3 games in a row (learning Sadako, have sod all perks) and got thrown up against a 1500-2000 hour group who beat the stuffing out of me again. I love her visuals and her lore, but the stealth...maybe I'm doing this wrong. Just played a game, survivors not only seemed to know that I was near (lullaby I'm assuming) but also exactly where I was - predropping pallets, looping correctly etc. What exactly is the strategy with her?39 comments 561 views last activity

Step 1: Attempt to queue up for a match. This does not appear to be related to which killer I'm playing. After a few minutes, the queue is halted and I get this error message. I've tried a few workarounds suggested elsewhere, like turning Crossplay off and on again with no joy. It does not occur every time, but maybe 40% of the time it does - especially if I'm playing at odd times of day.0 comments 751 views last activity

Now, the only data we have available is Steamcharts, which shows DbD at a low right now, when compared to the gigantic growth the game saw last year. Despite the surge of players from March through June, we are now back to basically the same pre-surge number as March last year. I have to wonder...why? I'm still having a lot of fun. Been a while since we had one of these, and they tend to be pretty enjoyable. For me: I actually really like the new Wiggle mechanic. So generally play a few games of survivor in the morning these days, to ease myself in. For the last...maybe week or so, I'd say 1 in 5 killers I've faced has been completely AFK from the start. Here's the situation. You queue up on killer. You get a lobby pop with 4 survivors waiting. Checking profiles, you notice that 3 of them have private profiles, with a recent VAC ban on record. Do you dodge?48 comments 671 views last activity

And to those who are inexplicably arguing for it to be kept as is - perhaps this will be food for thought. I'm seeing more and more people using Boil Over and immediately running to a raised area in the hopes of being unhookable. It's not always a dedicated troll comp, hell - it's not always successful, but it's just annoying enough to encourage killers to keep people slugged. So this appears to be a bit of an interesting perk at present, with some deeming it the most OP thing since CoH and others going 'it's okay'. I've been doing my little challenge, so I built a few killers around DMS (usually with Pain Resonance). My verdict: It's a good perk now. On some killers (Artist, potentially Doctor on small maps) it might be a bit too good, but that's only if the la6 comments 111 views last activity

Was thinking about this earlier today. This event has made me realize three things: At certain times of day, my killer queues are literally instant, but my matches are awful . Either me slaughtering newbies, or getting slaughtered by monsters. I think that this is definitely influenced by the sheer number of players on, and when this combines with the lack of killers, it totally breaks the SB2 comments 71 views last activity

At least at night? Seriously, there must be such a deficit of killers right now that as soon as survivor count reaches a critical mass, it's just...not fun anymore. No idea what's going on during this event, but I suspect that there is a huge deficit of killers right now, leading to me getting matched pretty frequently against SWFs with 2000 hours on their lowest player.
