  • Most people complained about Autodidact being to situational or to much of a Loose Cannon in fact. It didnt need a nerf.
Exactly. I was looking forward to it because it was interesting once you got up a few stacks. Now it's strictly worse than WMI unless you have a few stacks and and two skill checks pop up.
  • Pretty good job so far.
  • It'll probably be meta in SWF squads to keep the Gen Rush forever chugging, but it won't see much use in solo play.
  • *looks at Billy weapon*

Hank Hill to be included in DBD confirmed.

I honestly think the killer is fine the way she is. She's going to have a decently high learning curve but she's not that bad. Currently she's a massive mind game killer and really rewards people for being able to play mind games well. I think she needs to hit live and be played for a little while before we can accurately judge what buffs/nerfs she needs. Look at games like League of Legends. Whenever a new champion comes out it almost always has a 40% (give or take) winrate because people don't know how to play it yet. After a few weeks/a month or so if the winrate is still low that's when Riot goes in and buffs the champion.

She has a high learning curve but is mediocre at best.
Also, BHVR doesn't work like Riot. There won't be any buffs until next year. Freddy was released for Halloween. He's been waiting for a buff for a year now.

Don't expect any Spirit buffs in the next 12 months.

She isn't mediocre at best. If you get really good at playing her she will easily be at the top end of the mid tier killers. Possibly even low end of the high tier killers. But I do agree with you that they are way too slow with balancing changes.

Here is the problem with your statement though.

Just like you learn how to play as her, people also start to learn how to play against her. My first matches against her were horrible and I thought that she was one of the most powerful killers in the game. Then I have played one match as her and understood her power better. She is really easy to avoid as long as you are not caught in wide open areas. As long as she doesn't use some particular addons, I find myself more advantageous than the killer when she is in the spirit world.

I always said this though. We should really wait her release now. I am curious how she will be in the game when everybody tries to win. Then we can have a better understanding.

That was my favorite part about the Dev blowing off the feedback with "She's only been out 2 hours." Yeah, your killers are telling you she sucks after just two hours of Survivors in the PTB playing against her. Now just imagine what will happen in two weeks of Survivors playing seriously.
  • Whoa! I've never seen that before... That's weird. But a sick animation for crouching through clowns gas like that would be cool.
Pretty sure that already exists. At least Survivors are supposed to be coughing while intoxicated. Probably a bug that has something to do with that. Try verfying the game files as suggested already.
  • Educated guess based on previous DLC releases(the timeframe between PTB and release is similar) and the Devs attempt to get people to spend shards by making some Auric Cell exclusive cosmetics purchasable with shards until the 10th.
  • Probably decided to quietly drop them after the clown fiesta that was the official tournament.

This is what we point to when we talk about survivors and their toxicity. Anyone can look at this incident where people realizing who was in their game PREMEDITATED,LY decided to screw with him and go yeah that's kinda messed up but not survivor mains. Nothing is too far for them. They will excuse anything.

Perfect example of this filthy ass 'community'

Monitor & Abuse decreases it by up to 8 meters while you're not in a chase, increases it by the same amount while you are in a chase.
Thanks so that means if I use it and get a good angle I can hatchet survivors without them bolting right away
Remember that M&A only effects the Terror Radius and not Huntress Humming, which is also directional. It is unlikely it will help with sneaking up on Survivors with Huntress.
  • It's only useful for farming and builds that care about your terror radius(Doctor, Unnerving Presence, Coulrophobia). It can trick noobs into thinking you are closer than you really are, also.

As a Pig main, games are usually 5 minutes long if the survivors are extremely competitive but otherwise, your looking at 10 to 20 minutes games. A lot of killer's say "2 minute" games but even myself with 600 hours haven't had a game where all generators are powered on in 2 minutes.

All 4 survivor jump on different gens asap (5-10 sec)

Only one survivor can get chased at a time, everyone else stick to his gen.

60-80 seconds later 3 gens should be done and the first victim hooked.

Now either a) killer is camping and the remaining gens will be done in another 60-80 sec or b) killer is not camping -> free unhook and heal -> repeat the above.

    = 120 - 160 seconds to do all gen

This leaves another 1- 2 minutes to open the gates and you are still way under 5 min.

Okay, that's all cool and all but it's easier said than done. LINK me a generator rush video that shows all generators being powered on in 2 minutes! :)

    Challenge accepted.

Can you show a current patch game that is that quick. 2016 had brand new parts which was broken, and got nerfed.

Video is 6 months old. No BNP used.
    Your point is?

Ah I could have sworn I saw 2016 for it's date. I see that I was mistaken, or maybe I clicked on something else while watching it. Also why did the killer never even attempt to protect his gens?

He did though. He lucked out and found Marth almost immediately, chased him for a bit, and left him to check gens when Marth entered the dreaded grim pantry.

    Gens got powered in 2:57.
Solid 2 minute gen rush there.

Feel free to ignore the fact that one person didn't start a gen until after the 1:25 timestamp.
  • You still have to find it in the bloodwebs of your killers.
  • I play both, but I play more Survivor these days. It's much more relaxing, playing the power role.
  • Can't wait to play more Wraith. Really wish the devs had taken the Spirit as an opportunity to break up the Billy/Nurse parade past rank 10 though.
  • @SenzuDuck

Nurse seemed pretty chill despite an obviously very rough match until you took a shot at his loadout.

Wraith gets run for 5 gens and gets immediately hit with the most obnoxious Survivor meme ever.

Not saying their actions are justified, but it sure is hard thank someone after they ######### you and rub it in your face a bit.

It's also quite hilarious how you try to debunk Marth's experiment and play the in the same manner as they did.
  • Two pictures without context. One showing the endgame of a clearly bullied baby Nurse since the Survivors all immediately gave the GGs and the Nurse was already upset, and the other with the Survivor admitting to abusing loops as much as possible.

I haven't played it in quite a while, but waaaaay back they removed the functionality of the button (although they kept the button, for some reason). Something something widowmaker player something something people don't want to play with someone playing widowmaker.

It was actually that the Widowmaker "got gud" at Widowmakering and people would avoid him because they didn't like to get owned so hard to the point where he couldn't get a lobby. Seems pretty relevant to this game also.

Let me just snap you out of your kindness high to remind you that these nice players are a minority. And having a proximity chat would kill this game.

I'm also having a bit of doubt towards the OP. From the sounds of hit he enjoys when killers let him and others go so they have easier times. To me this just screams amateur killer. Personally to me, good killers are those that strive to be the best and give no quarter. That's what I strive to be when playing this game. This then results in survivors getting salty and of course spouting their toxic bullshit that we're all used to.

Edit: I know this is gonna end in people replying to me with anger and impoliteness but whatevs :P

Oh I'm aware of that. I was one of those nice killers that farmed with survivors when only 2 loaded into the match. I let them get points and escape. In return I mostly got insults and reports. Yes, survivors are not really grateful and deserve everything that comes their way.

I second this. When i first started playing killer i was an entitled survivor main. I went in thinking i am going to be a nice killer. Respect the 4%, dont camp and tunnel, let the last person have the hatch, etc. That changed when the survivors started to abuse my goodwill and generosity by flaming me in chat and spreading hate. Its a double edged sword. Damned if you do damned if you dont. They will be salty regardless. Atleast i no longer show mercy. Survivors deserve no mercy.

This. The last time I was nice to Survivors was after a rank reset. The four Survivors had 5 hours of gameplay between all four of them. It got to the point that I was herding Survivors toward other hooked Survivors. I let them all go and they told me in the end game chat just how bad a killer I was.

I still gice the occasional hatch if it's deserved and I know where it is, but ######### Survivors, they aren't worth it.
  • That's a lag issue not a pallet issue.

I wanna believe you, but I don't simply because it didn't happen until the implemented the pallet nerf.
That has happened to me plenty of times before the removal of the vacuum. It's lag.
  • Trapper and Hag because I'm guaranteed to trigger the most random traps ever.

Also Hillbilly out of sheer boredom. Easily 75% of my matches after rank 10 are against Hillbilly. Good thing the Devs are releasing "Fun" killers instead of viable ones to break up the monotony.
  • Hexy uses the term AFK gen rushing. It's just when Survivors do gens to the ABSOLUTE exclusion of ANYTHING else. Ignoring all other aspects of the game and just running between gens.
  • Change My Mind :chuffed:

Cant really, because I agree. I have more of a mind to play the current Wraith than the Spirit. Her ability is cool, but god damn, chasing Survivors as the Hag or a Huntress without Hatchets is the absolute worst. I'd rather have real chase speed over the off chance of pulling a Survivor off a gen.

Nevermind the fact that the new changes to wraith add-ons look freaking awesome. Watching Tydetymes new video of wraith gameplay is great.

Sad thing is, I really haven't seen hardly any "Spirit OP" threads.

What is the hat supposed to be?

It was supposed to resemble Freddy since he was hit hard with the nerf bat.

  • Make it a limited pool to be chosen from and it's a fun idea. The devs have shown they have the statistics of the most and least used perks. Make it a different, random pool of three or four of the 10 least played perks or something.

Otherwise killers all pick Ruin and Survivors all pick SC to free up slots.
  • Not good enough. Will be forgotten two weeks after release. Just like Pig and Clown.
  • Because there is no skill in Urbanly Evading around the edges of the map as a P3 Claudette.

  • Iridescent Heads have already been destroyed by Survivor tears and Pinky Finger requires you to get right on the Survivor's ass and throw a very slow, heavily arced projectile.

Huntress with IH these days only really gets one kill, two at the most. She gets the freebie from the first Survivor and then all the rest get super immersed and rush gens.
  • Unless you are playing Billy/Leatherface, I think Brutal Strength is needed. Especially once Survivors realize what is happening and start dropping pallets early.
  • Zanfer said:

I think that once you know the killer has spirit fury, you will probably have to drop pallets earlier to prevent getting the pallets broken instantly. It will be strong, but not op

This, and you have to give the Survivor a head start at two pallets previously, so you are probably using Brutal Strength as well. That's allot of perk slots you are using up in the hopes that Survivors don't drop every third pallet a half second sooner...
  • So even more reason to play Nurse, Hillbilly, and possibly a one hit killer because Survivors can cross half the map when hit?

    K.
  • Reach rank 5 on Hillbilly, now lets stomp rank 20's on the Trapper.
Reach Rank 5 on Trapper, now lets stomp rank 20's on Leatherface.
Reach rank oh you get the point.

But SWF gaming the piss poor matchmaking system is fine. #survivorlogic
  • Too many crybabies complaining that their 360 juke wannabes don't work against killers with half a brain.
  • "Good" is a stretch on the killer perks. Interesting to be sure, but nothing worth goes out of your way to get.
  • I want to like her, but her power takes way to long to recharge and isn't anywhere close enough in power level to warrant 110% speed. Watching people play her on twitch, I don't she does anything that the Wraith can't do against competent Survivors.
  • Huntress: "The Court of Owls has sentenced you to die."
  • You know how you know it's a mediocre ability? There are no survivors screaming that the killer is OP. We're going on, what, 6 hours of PTB now and already survivors are figuring out how to avoid this power. As it is it's just not very good. I don't think it would take much to make it good but, as it is right now, it's just not.

This. A thousand times this. Having the counter figured out so quickly and needing to spend even more time then that to find practical usage is not the definition of a good power. Just watching Twitch streamers play and I can't help but think that The Spirit isn't doing a whole lot more than The Wraith can do.

Now, will I play her and have fun? Probably. However, I don't appreciate being mocked by Survivors because they know I can't do anything to them.
  • Considering the new Survivor's sounds are all the same as Tapp's, it's probably a placeholder.
