I think Perk reworks or Perworks ….ok ok i'll move on...
Monsterous Shrine is more useful then what content creators like to give it credit for.
If you are playing a basementing build (ie My setup on hag: Monsterous Shrine, Agitation, iron Grasp, Territorial Imperative) MS is your game pacer. It speeds up the survivors hooked timer, which makes it harder to gen rush and save your friend. Now they have to get off their gens and save or they will be down a man before they rush all the gens.
Plus, that 4% happens more reliably then you would think. Especially if you've put a whole team down. If 4 people are trying to kobe, someone usualy does. if you have them on your basement hooks, this mitigates that.
In short: it's useful when playing a certain way. I'de be more willing to remove TI from my basement build, then MS. But it would be nice if the numbers were buffed a bit, since the new meta is perks that help them rush faster (prove thyself being the main but there are other builds floating out there)
-
Letting the DS obsession bleed out, I’ve done it two games recently and it is the most satisfying thing as killer.☺️
welcome to the club. Juggling takes to long, and slugging makes for a more reliable hook.
If you take ds you have agreed to a TOS that says "i'm ok with being slugged for a whole game"
And I'de like to point this out as a bonus to slugging: Survivors can immediately unhook their teammate, the moment you turn and walk a couple feet. But if the target was slugged, they can't. They have to go through a healing period and can't be picked up immediately until the meter is almost full.
-
I'm tired of ignoring it, as i have to ignore it literally every game. Since they went back to the old pick up times it's been horrible.
I shouldn't have to tune out trolling every single game. These flashlights are OP as it is. If you have an upgraded battery and flashlight, you will never run out of power. You can use it to your hearts content, attempt every save, and run around clicking at me.
That's not fun. It's not fun to play what is essentialy a 3 survivor game as 1 just trys to troll the killer all game.
As for having a noise based gesture to say "hey"
YOU AREN'T SUPPOSED TO HAVE ONE. They designed the game that way.
It's annoying, and it's one sided, which makes it ripe for trolling. And, as stated, flashlights last WAY TO LONG as it is.
edit: Also, turning on the flashlight having an initial drain of power wont stop your 'hey" clicks. It wont deplete your bat after 1 click. But it would drain it fast if you macro click the killer.
I like how people who play survivor are all about preserving this trollish behavior, while killer mains are like "yeah, i'm pretty tired of this too, and why do batteries need to have so much time when it only take 2 second to stun a killer?"

You can thank Noob3 for that. He does it actively on his stream, and talks about doing it. It's an absolute disgrace. You can beat legion, he has some counter play to him.
"but If he wants to get you, he gets you."
Yeah, but he's not getting those other three people you were smart enough to lead him away from right? Cause you know survivors tend to spawn on the same side of the map, about 40m from eachother, cause you aren't brand new?
That mean those three people, who are not working on the same generator at the start of the game because discordance exists and it's a bad start, especially against legion, are working on 2-3 gens while you go down.
Remember kids, the world doesn't revolve around you. Just because you get hooked doesn't mean the game is over. And just because the killer kills 2 doesn't mean he won. That's like a tie game. But people act like killers shouldn't get it.
-
@Peanits said:
That wouldn't really fix anything. If people are truly rushing generators, we're talking 160 second games (not counting time to travel between generators). Changing it to 110 seconds would only turn that into a 220 second game. That's not a significant difference in time, you only gained one extra minute there. That's still ~4 minutes per game.
The issue goes deeper than just the time to repair a generator. The bigger issue is the inability to apply pressure to a coordinated team. Four survivors on separate generators are working at maximum efficiency, and you can only chase one at a time. Increasing the time is not going to stop everyone else from working on generators while you chase one guy, it's just going to make it boring to sit there starting at a bar for so long.
Could use my suggestion i've been saying for a long time.
Make survivors find parts for the gen and plug them in. Keep the same amount of gen time, but divide it into 2-3 parts they have to find.
This will do 2 things, increase game time, and give survivors more chances to be caught out by the killer, as opposed to being found inside/near strong loops where generators tend to spawn.

Share your opinion, it makes for a nice discussion or fix. So in recent killers, I find myself questioning whether or not the new killer is fair.
"The Shape" refers to how he watches people from the shadows, so they only see his silhouette or "shape" Have you not watched his movies? If i named him, I'de have called him the "Creeper" cause he always be creepin'.
The plague's decently strong. I really wish she had more addons that added more flavor to her sickness. Like blindness, or exhaustion. But she seems pretty strong, with some counter play.
What counter play? Her vomit is slow, which means you can loop her while she expels it. It also arcs, so you can run under it.
Here, Piccalo will teach you how to counter play the Plague.

Yeah you don't hook all 4 survivors at least once in the red ranks, you might aswell pack your bags, cause you'll be lucky to black pip. You don't hook them at least twice each you might aswell stop aswell.
Then if you are survivor... If the killer only made a few hooks... Forget it aswell... Killer never finds you cause you like stealth?.. Forget it. There is no stealthing in red ranks if you want to pip, you have to be chased at some point, or basically stay in the killer radius hiding the whole match.
As survivor, the killer needs to run a perfect match for more then 1 survivor to white pip in the match, if they don't every survivor in the match will be lucky to black pip.
If the survivors play too well against the killer, they hurt the team, since nobody will earn enough emblem points.
Then if the survivors say.. ######### it... and don't save anyone and let the killer start hooking them all to kill em... They just screwed over the killer and forced them to depip.
LULS
Love it!
actually, if you gen rush the right way, you will black pip every time as a survivor. You just have to live.

I was away at the time so you'll have to humor me, but wasn't Legion universally hated in the PTB?
They didn't have anything to fall back on for legion. They had a product they made that a chunk of people didn't like. It was release that product, and change it in the future, or release nothing. Which wasn't a choice, they refused to even delay him.
This is a change to an existing system, they have a fall back. I'm hoping they don't implement it though.

This killer is in reality a satanic sorcerer in disguise as the plague, meant to deliver the satanic chants to eat your souls in rl
A dev stream or two ago they said they didn't have anyone, survivor or killer, speak in order to make the game feel more lonely.
so it's weird to see them backtrack on more then one thing they have said on more then one occasion. Maybe this killer marks kind of a turning point for the company. They might be looking at things in different ways.
But if you look at what they did to ranking you can see they still favor survivor, and insist on keeping it easy for them.

No, because it takes the scoring out of my hands, and puts it on the survivors.

my favorite is a pair of hag add-ons.
Grandma's Heart: This removes your TR and puts it on the phantasm that spawns when your trap is set.
Rusty Shackles: This removes the phantasm, and gives survivors no indication they set off a trap.
This lets me teleport to traps and surprise attack people. It's great fun.

I'm a rank 1 hag. I stay at rank 1 all month long, every single month. And these are a few things to know about the hag that can get you to single digit ranks easy.
1: The hag can be insanely effective without perks or add-ons. Which means you can use any set-up that helps you. Some people like to take tracking so they know where to set traps. I don't, but many do.
2: Hag takes time at the start to set up. Don't get frustrated if they get a gen before you get a chase. Try to get someone on the hook around the second gen. Her game actualy starts now.
3: After hooking, place ONE trap at the base of the hook, then make a perimiter. you know what direction they will be running from (the hook) so set traps on the opposite side of escapes.
4: Your best traps will always be RUN PATHS. not windows, or pallets. Area's where people run from generator to generator, or loop to loop. Survivors will call these "random traps" but they aren't random, at all. When you start a game, THESE SHOULD BE MOST OF THE TRAPS YOU PUT DOWN IN THE FIRST 2 MINS.
5: AKA my fave perk setup.
I run all hexes on Hag. Ruin, Huntress' Lullaby, Devour Hope, and Thrill of the Hunt.
Why?Well, besides tip 1, and 2 above, it's simple. As a hag I want people to move around the map and set off my traps at the run paths. The totems I chose are damning if they aren't cleansed. Which means survivors will cleanse them. WHich means they aren't doing generators. Once you get your first hook,k this game slower set-up really hits it's stride. Now they have to do gens, save someone, and cleanse totems. And I'm a hag, unhooking against me usualy take 2 people to do safely.
Hope this helps! There's a LOT more to her, she has so many add-on combos that can make her play many different ways. Hope you enjoy her.
Ps: If you are having trouble tracking survivors, use pussy willows. The aura reveal will help you, especially in corn fields and other places with grass.

DEVs, you just spit in the face of solo survivors who bought your game. The game is absolutely UNPLAYABLE for those who play to escape!
ummmmm What? The average, by actual factual numbers, is actually 2 survivors escaping per match. Just because you get killed 40% of the time doesn't mean i do.
-
lol survivors man.
A few days ago idecided to do absolutely hook immunity. Where i 100% didn't go for people that were just unhooked, no matter how dumb their pathing was. I hooked every single one of them 2 times before sacking them, and prety much everything else in their "rules" they want you to play by. (Nothing even close to camping, not even patroling, i didn't slug anyone, ect.)
After the game, still had 2 people talking #########, saying things like i was camping and tunneling.
as the killer you are their bad guy, remember that. In higher ranks people are usualy more respectful...usualy...

She can't see survivors while sh'es invisible, but a good spirit player plays by sound. That's why most spirit players stopped when the sound broke.

I'd say 40 seconds. 20-30 is too short, and 60 is indeed too long (at least on paper). Other than that, I agree with this.originally i put 40, but shortened it to 30. probably because I'm a killer main, and 40 still sounded strong.
But that probably is where it needs to be.
edit: Made the original post 30-40. After running the numbers, that's probably the best fit time. Still pretty strong. But the survivors probably won't get any gen work done with ds active.

8 is actually good. Many players can't get to that rank. Single digits are where you start to get survivors that know what they are doing.

So the perk will be active for 30 seconds and it will be last if you are in the dying state right? But if you stand up you lose the DS?Correct. Sorta. It hasn't been used, so it would still be available to use later.
Either way, you just got another "life" as a survivor.

I did not know that. But then again, the guy above said that if he moved slightly.
Yeah, i kept getting birds when playing Lery's as a survivor (one of my fave maps, but sometimes you gotta hide in a dark corner for a couple tense moments)
One day I watched TrueTalent and was like "why isn't he getting birds like i do on this map" and that's when i realized it's cause he, and most streamers, wiggle a bit, or tea bag, or otherwise put inputs in when they are giving the killer the old shinobi.

An ebony mori reduces the number of hooks needed by 2. And the number of chases needed by 4 out of 12.
This statement is not correct. If you as a killer are putting enough pressure on the team of survivors, then you will probably be 2 hooking most of them.
It's absolutely a time saver, but not on the level you are implying.
They are also pretty rare.

Killer really is stressful. but that's kinda why it's fun. You have to do things. You have to outsmart the survivors. The match is their's to lose.
As opposed to sneaking up to a gen, and holding a button, and tapping another one sometimes. If they made you have to find the parts of the gens the survivors fix, that side of the game would be more fun for me.

They didn't add locations. They changed the code so that totems are able to spawn closer to items now. Which has caused some gameplay issues. (check out monto's adept bill vid if you want to see him get stuck on a hidden totem)

Depends on the map. When it spawns in the middle of a cornfield, all nice and bright, about 2 steps.
Generally speaking, it lasts for 1 hook. It's a trade off perk. Instead of losing 2 generators for your first hook (on average) you will lose 1 totem.

Any Killers you guys can play Add-Onless with results?
I have, for the longest time, played Hag at rank 1 with no perks and add-ons.
Recently though I've been getting to rank 1 using Legion, Spirit, Hag and Billy without any perks or add-ons.
just an FYI: there are tournaments where no one (survivor or killer) uses perks, addons, or offerings.
edit: And to answer you, I personally think you can use any killer this way, with enough love, time, and knowledge of how to handle loops.
Any killer can be good without add-ons if the player knows how to use the killer properly, but you gotta admit that some killers depend on add-ons more than others. Nurse is not able to be looped, she is great without add-ons. While Legion is good at handling loops, they are basically unviable without Frank’s Mix Tape or other good add-ons. Billy constantly has an instadown at his disposal and Spirit can handle loops due to mind game potential.
Top tier killers like Nurse, Billy, and Spirit are viable without add-ons or perks while others (Legion, Freddy, Wraith) are REALLY dependent on good add-ons and perks. Not saying it is impossible to 4K with them though, just very hard to especially at Rank 1.
Considering I keep 4king with no add-ons or perks with Legion, i disagree. Some killers have an easier time of it sure, I wouldn't want to try it with leatherface, personally. But i know leatherface players that can play rank 1 with no perks or add-ons. I even knew a guy that used ONLY A SPEED LIMITER at rank 1. No perks, no add-ons, no instadowns, just a fat guy with a hammer, and a half useless chainsaw.
If you know your killer, and know the loops and the maps, any killer you like to play, is viable. If you want proof, just watch any good killer streamer. They will eventually do killers with perk roulette. It's the oldest proof that no killer needs any perk. Even freddy gets ran with useless perk combos at rank 1, and gets 3-4k's.

I love when little bits like that make it into the game, like how the huntress hums a Russian lullaby.
There's a couple of asian, black and white people to choose from. But nobody of Hispanic or Latino decent, even though they live in almost every country.
It would be pretty cool to get a Chupacabra in the game, a monster that gets stronger as it hurts or kills survivors.
