untill they make abandon option for survivors only for matches that have lost with no comeback then they will never implement this. as it stands survivors can abandon over anything like being downed and recovered twice so bhvr wouldnt encourage killers to try to get survivors to abandon for easy wins.
Instead they allow survivors to abandon with no actual penalty, which is essentially rewarding them for bad behavior.

BHVR will be fixing it soon. Let the killers strike. The updates coming whether they want it or not. Survivors are long due for an anti slug/tunnel and camp. The current camp system in place is worthless and the bar needs to fill up just as fast if they proxy camp.
You mean like the 20+ perks dedicated to those things? Survivors need more?
-
Killers used to go for chases because they could slow the game down with gen regression. Strong gen regression gave them time to hunt different survivors, go for chases, and never have to think about tunneling unless their backs were to the wall.
With nerfed gen regression, killers had less time to go for chases because the gens would pop faster. By removing strong regression, BHVR told killers that they had to killer faster. There's only one way to kill faster. Tunnel.
Killers have ZERO time to go for multiple hooks. The rise of tunneling is because killers can't slow down the game. -
If you don't like gen slowdown then you're the people responsible for slugging and camping. If killer's can't slow the game down so that they can go for multiple chases, then they tunnel to slow the game down so they can go for multiple chases.
Survivors whined about slowdown. BHVR nerfed it. Survivors are surprised when killers started slowing the game down in other ways. What did you think would happen? Did you think killers would play the same and just accept the nerf to the thing that let them go for more chases? -

Selfishly ? Your funny I literally did 5 gens if you think that’s selfish then you need help .. because if I didn’t do anything everyone would have died your a joke lol I bet your one of those survivors who hide in a corner doing nothing all game
Youd idn't unhook or heal anyone. You avoided everyone until the end.
And you can say that you doing gens is what let people get out. But maybe if you had gone for an unhook or heal, the damage would have been more spread out so the gens could have been finished and everyone could have escaped.
You're just salty because your selfish gen jockey focus wasn't rewarded with an escape.
-
Actually, what I saw was a survivor so gen oriented that they didn't go anywhere close to other survivors unless it was to do a gen. The leatherface played perfectly fair the entire game. Then, played to his strengths to guarantee one (or more) kill once the end game happened.
I saw three survivors on one gen and saw you run up to gens that were already in the process of being worked on (but were unattended because unlike you, the other survivors were trying to help everyone else). You're claiming a lot that you didn't actually do. You act like you did everything alone.
You never once helped another survivor, then complain that they didn't help you. Guess they were too busy saving eachother while you played gen jockey.
The Bill went for you and couldn't. Because Bubba would have killed him instead. It was the right decision.
So according to what I watched, you get salty when you play selfishly and aren't rewarded with an escape, and instead CHOOSE to be toxic as a response to not being rewarded for a selfish playstyle. Sounds to me like you just throw a hissy fit when you don't get what you want.

Not likely ever going to happen. It boosts their sales when you get the game on a new console/device because you have to buy the game and all the DLC all over again.

Most combos that rely on you being in a certain status effect as part of the combo won't proc if you're already in that status effect, Since Second Wind's effect requires that you be put into the Broken State, it probably can't activate since it can't put you into the Broken State because you're already in it.
It can't perform its actions, so it can't activate. Makes sense to me.
Otherwise this combo would absolutely break For The People even more than it already is\by giving an instant heal to your target, and a free heal to you. Combo it with deliverence and you'd see entire times just hook rushing because there'd be no consequences.

"Are you honestly saying only a small number of people do these things."
On a consistent basis, yes. A very small number of people consistently rotate their perks and outfits.
"Yes, it is temporary. But not being able to play the game for upwards of 25 minutes because someone couldn't control their temper isn't good or right."
You listing secondary things you can do in the game doesn't change the fact that it isn't okay to ruin the core gameplay. The large majority of the people don't play the game specifically for the archives, or changing their outfits, or changing their build every game. They play it because they want to actually play against another living being and try to out play each other. You stopping them from doing that for the upwards of 20 minutes because you had a little temper tantrum isn't alright.
You admitting that people don't stop playing the game just because they're not in a match was enough. Thanks!

"And you can only customize your character during a match."
A very niche thing. Not everyone has 456 outfits that they change every single time they queue.
"You probably can only visit the Rift to pick challenges or listen/watch lore snippets."
I want to play the game, not sit and get into the lore. Maybe if you could do this while queuing, you'd have a point. But it doesn't pass queue time.
"And of course, you can only create your builds during a match as well."
The majority of the player base isn't switching builds every time they queue. Many stick with one specific rotation.
You can't use niche things as an excuse for people who ruin the game for others because they have a bad temper.
"You can't use niche things as an excuse for people who ruin the game for others because they have a bad temper."
Niche things? XD You're reaching hard with that one. Creating your builds, spending bloodpoints, choosing rift challenges.... all these are niche?
Your ealize niche means that these things only appeal to a small number of people. Are you honestly saying only a small number of people do these things? Brilliant.

Yes you did stop. Because you're back in queue not playing a game that you should be playing. It does stop you from playing the game. Yes, it is temporary. But not being able to play the game for upwards of 25 minutes because someone couldn't control their temper isn't good or right.
So ou can spend bloodpoints only during a match. And you can only customize your character during a match. OH! You probably can only visit the Rift to pick challenges or listen/watch lore snippets. And of course, you can only create your builds during a match as well. All these things that go into playing the game you can only do in a match...

Most of them....
Easier to list the ones I do use than to list the ones I don't. Most of them just aren't worth it or are too niche for meme builds or specific killer builds.

You go back into a 5-20 minute queue of waiting. You have a very myopic perspective of how people enjoy this game. If you cannot make it through an entire 5-10 minute game without disconnecting, then you shouldn't be queue'ing up to play to begin with.
What if that's how they enjoy playing? Who are you to tell someone how they should or shouldn't play?

I assume you're a troll. If not, you should realize what people mean by "playing the game" and adjust your opinion accordingly.
Yeah. I guess you can spend bloodpoints only during a match. And you can only customize your character during a match. OH! You probably can only visit the Rift to pick challenges or listen/watch lore snippets. And of course, you can only create your builds during a match as well.

You missed the part where the queues are insanely long. You finally get a game after 5 minutes just to have a game end very prematurely. So yes, to a certain extent he is stopping you from playing a normal game. You take 5 minutes to load, 2 minutes to get into the game, and then play for a minute or two just to be DC'd on and not actually be able to fully play a normal game. So then you go back to a 5+ minute queue and repeat the cycle hoping you don't get DC'd on again. In total, this can pretty much stop you from playing the actual game for upwards of 15+ minutes. I've had this happen to me so many times. When players of both sides DC, everyone suffers.
So you get back into the queue to continue playing. Huh... So you didn't stop. The round just ended.
-
They won't. That would mean less money.
-
No. It won't. The new matchmaking system can't account for tunneling, SWF, Perk levels (and their effectiveness), solo survivors not comig to unhook you, map variation (certain maps are killer/survivor sided), etc.
It's a performanced based matchmaking that takes ZERO of these factors in consideration. All the new matchmaking does is ask if you had a good or bad game without any consideration for what actually happened.
They're just hiding the ranking system and making the game a free for all so they no longer have to worry about it.

DS is not solely an anti-tunnel perk. Negating tunneling is a primary use; like many perks - it's not its only possible use. It worked as intended.
Except that's exactly what it was redesigned to do according to the devs in the Q&A about it.
-
Because they played enough games together to pip back up to rank 1 already.
And that's what rank reset was supposed to do. But now it just takes everyone in the same bracket and moves them all back to the same bracket.
But don't worry! Behavior's matchmaking is trash anyway. That's why they're planning on hiding ranks.

It’s not an anti-tunnel perk, they admit that, killers know it, even most survivors admit that.
But as killers we know what it does, if there is an obsession and you done someone quickly after unhook your have to decide...
A. Slug them, this isn’t such a bad option as it forces someone to come pick them up (batting unbreakable)
B. Pick them up and eat the DS, just get it out of the way.
C. Pick them up and be surprised they don’t actually even have DS, woot woot!!!
They called it an anti-tunnel perk. Now they're realizing it's not performing its role so now they're acknowledging that it isn't an anti-tunnel perk.
They're not saying it's not an ani-tunnel perk, they're admitting that it isn't an anti-tunnel perk. A slight difference, but an important one. It's not fulfilling the role they redesigned it for.

You seem to have focused on the end result and rewards (points, pips), but that's not all that people play the game for. When the killer leaves early, the game ends. Everyone now has to go back and sit in queue. If you're playing to actually play the game, that guy leaving has quite literally stopped you from doing so.
No he hasn't. because you go right back in the queue to continue playing the game. All the killer did was end a match early. Youd on't stop playing the game until you actually stop playing the game.

Balance around solo and make the max SWF team 2 people (or kill SWF option all together except in KYF).

You're not getting my point.
I didn't say that to simply inform you there aren't more Killers.
I'm saying it's very easy to say in hindsight what should've been done.
That's what my whole post was about.
I think DBD is basically more like WoW. It's the first one that really stuck. People might go to new games for a bit, but because they have a longer investment in DBD, and DBD keeps putting out content (well, more killers and survivors, not so much "new content"0, they'll just keep coming back to DBD.
It's sad, because without innovating their game, it's going to continue to grow stale and monotonous. We need games like F13 and Pedator to come out and show innovation in the genre.
If the devs of DBD were smart, they'd mimic Blizzard by taking the innovations from other games and incorporating them into DBD with their own spin on it in order to keep the game fresh. New game modes and similar game styles to competitors would bring in more players so "but muh wait times" wouldn't be an argument for not branching out.
Instead, they just crank out a killer/survivor every quarter and think that's good enough. eventually it won't be. And they'll either have to adapt or a new game will take its place.
-
It's because the Devs think it's better for you to rank up by playing according to their lore and "entertaining the entity" than by playing optimally.

Okay, but it didn't get different Killers, and it's sitting at a pretty low player-count.
And this Predator one will most likely also not do more than just Predator skins & the few different versions of Predators.
Also, it's gonna be a 4v1 asymmetrical PvP-only game with guns.
They better make it very interesting, or it might be another Deathgarden.
I know it didn't get more killers. I even said so.
If it had, I would have said so and I'm betting it would have a larger players base. Thanks for pointing out the thing I already pointed out myself. Good contribution.

@Boss said:
Remember when they said F13 would kill this game?
Anyway, we'll see what the future holds. ☺️
To be fair, if F13 had different killers, I think it would have. It has a more interesting way of play in my opinion.
But I liken F13 to Battlefield, while DBD is COD. COD is easy, fast, and less involved. Battlefield is more involved, longer, and takes more time to really master.
Most people prefer easy, fast, and less involved. Add a more diverse cast of killers, and DBD remains more popular.

A dev has said here also that DS isn't JUST an anti tunnel perk. So kts best killers stop griping about that.
Shall we go back to where they said it WAS an anti tunnel perk? Only now that people have constantly pointed out the bullshit in their redesign to they now try and say it's not an anti tunnel perk.
So now they either have to admit they ######### up making an anti-tunnel perk (which they won't do) or change their narrative behind the perk (which is what they're starting to do). I'd rather stick with facts instead of watching the devs play their butt-covering games thinking that people won't remember what they said and just listen to what they say now.

There’s no pity to give, he’s saying “you’re saying I should ignore Jane.”
No, literally no one is saying ignore Jane... were simply stating once you down her the game is won, go pick up the first person you downed and by the time you hook them Janes DS wears off.
And everyone is also ignoring he hooked other survivors in between Jane getting unhooked and getting downed. She wasn't tunneled. DS shouldn't have gone off if it's supposed to be an anti-tunnel perk.

So you're saying that I'm supposed to ignore Infectious Fright, let Jane happily get the unhook, pick up the other survivor all while I carry the one survivor to the hook. It's not like they made any mistakes here. Clearly it's not fair that I down them too quickly for making mistakes, god forbid I try to touch the Jane after hooking another survivor and downing two more.
You'll get zero pity from survivor mains or the devs. Even the devs believe the game should be played in accordance to the survivor handbook.
-
@Peanits said:
Of all the people you have on the ground, you picked up the one that was the least recovered (furthest away from being able to use Unbreakable if they have it) and the only one that was unhooked recently. The smart move would have been to pick up one of the other survivors in case they're running Unbreakable, preferably the first person you downed since they're the most recovered.
Let me translate: "I'm going to critique your choice of the people you picked up first while completely ignoring the (still) broken nature of this perk which was the nature of your query."

I actually agree with this.
I see people saying that Billy isn't good at loops, so that's his weakness. Or they'll say if he's 110 he needs to get something to help him with loops.
I disagree. The power to travel around the largest maps in 5-6 seconds and still be able to insta-down someone once he gets behind them (with no slow down for his power) is ample compensation for not being good in a loop. Also, his chainsaw takes down pallets faster than kicking them. So there's your compensation.

Learn terms... noone uses tunneling correctly, everyone yells tunneler when he just doesn't want to be hooked right in that moment.
Tunneling isn't even hooking someone twice really fast. Tunneling is getting the death hook as soon as possible to get someone out of the game. And the "out of the game" is the critical part to call something tunneling, as well as the fact that killers dodge other survivors and ignore free hits or targets, just to get the other one killed ("tunnel vision", ignoring everything else). Hooking someone the second time, even off the hook, is no tunneling yet. If someone loves to do gens in my face injured, I'm happy to put him on death hook just to tell him "maybe play more stealthy or cautious from now on, or you die". Don't care if he accuses me tunneling then.
And as I said in my last comment, tunneling or not, DS should work in this case. If someone throws his body on the hook for free so that the killer has enough time to go after me again, I still just got off the hook being injuired, no time to heal, no time to hide. Not calling it tunneling
Man, you are seriously trying to make that definition work for your argument. You need it to fit that exact scenario so that you can be correct.
LEt's say you are. DS should still deactivate. The person unhooking you right in the killer's face is to blame for the easy hook and follow-up chase. You weren't tunneled because the killer took the time to down someone else, then hook that person.
Congrats they didn't ignore the injured person and go straight for you. They downed and hooked that person, then went back after someone who is already injure instead of hunting a healthy survivor whose location is a mystery.
If you play killer, then you know that killers CHOOOSE not to get free hits because they know it's can be used as a distraction and a means to slow them down.
You've tried to warp the term to fit your narrative, but even then it didn't work.

Might happen on super quickly reacting teams. As I said, this is a common situation and downing the second survivor is not necessarily taking 30 seconds. As well, hooking the unhooker cancels DS as well, having scratchmarks still lit to go for the tunnel
You're not being tunneled if someone else was hooked after you were unhooked. You need to learn your terms.

This is a big fat no, and would break the perk.
You mean it would make it balanced instead of OP.
Right now it's braindead 60 seconds of very abusable immunity. Maybe that's why you're so vehemently against the change... But it's not an anti tunnel perk as it is. It's just free time.
-
@Deadeye said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1204106#Comment_1204106
How is this mentioned so often as "solution"? Here's a super common situation:
Camper/tunneler catches a survivor early enough, hitting him once before unhook, once after. Then goes for the tunnel and downs the second survivor. Goes back to the first one, hooks him, DS cancelled. This change would make DS kinda useless in many situations.
So the killer downs the unhooker and leaves them to be healed while chasing down the person who was unhooked instead of getting a guaranteed hook?
I mean.... I guess if they don't like getting hooks...
-
Add in "Decisive Strike deactivates if another survivor is hooked while Decisive Strike is active" and you got yourself a deal.
It's not an anti-tunnel perk if it can still punish the killer for not tunneling.
-
Or!!!!! And hear me out.... the survivor with borrowed time shouldn't unhook you in the Doctor's terror radius.
Look at that! Just saved the devs a ton of time. Survivors could use their gray matter.

Assuming you accidently clicked on the wrong quote button, as this seems to be a clear reply to me. So I apologize if I am misunderstanding and you meant to apply to him.
You're are technically right, if survivors just open the door and run out, it's actually favors no one, because as you said, the survivors already won and you lost. How often do survivors just leave the game after opening exit gate? The only time I ever see this is when they can body block and get everyone alive to escape. Other than that. They in general get greedy and go for last minute saves and doing that on a timer, does benefit the killer far more than it benefits a survivor.
But yes, if the survivors just open the exit gate and run out, yes the EGC favors no one. My point is that it can only ever be a benefit to the killer, EGC will never be beneficial to the survivors.
If they don't leave, they chose to take the risk of giving the killer more opportunities to kill them. Their fault.
EGC has nothing to do with survivors CHOOSING to give the killer more time to kill them. It doesn't benefit anyone. It simply signals the end of the game. in 2-4 minutes. No more. No less.

Yeah. it starts a timer because the survivors have already won. They could leave, since they opened the exite gate. They chose not to. The EGC is to stop that from being drawn out longer. It does nothing to the survivors other than tell them it's time to leave. It doesn't force them to stay or go for unhooks.
You said it yourself. Survivors get greedy. That's not the fault of the EGC. You literally admitted that it's not the EGC, it's survivor greed.
