A new survivor item: Axe/Hatchet!

Okay please hear me out guys, i don't want some overpowered decisive strike bully item okay? We good? Nice, let's get into it.

Ever wanted to know why no survivor just uses the hatchets stored in every locker? Well no idea why but now they do!

Axes are useable to destroy totems faster and to use a new (optional) mechanic i will introduce later on.

First, let me show you my base item idea. Every axe got charges and speed. One charge is needed to destroy a totem.

|Rusty Hatchet (common)| Slightly increased speed, one charge

|Axe (uncommon)| Moderatly increased speed, two charges

|Sharpend Hatchet (rare)| Considerably increased speed, one charge

|Woodworker's Axe (very rare)| Tremendously increased speed, two charges

|Iridescent Hatchet (ultra rare)| Grants the ability to destroy totems instantly, one charge

Items were pretty straight forward. Now the addons:

|Old Grindstone (common)| Slightly increases speed

|Small toolbox| (uncommon)| Grants the ability to rebuild pallets with six charges (new super duper mechanic lmfaooooo)

|Modern Grindsteel(rare)| Considerably increases speed

|Carrying Sheat(rare)| Hides the axe/hatchet from the killer in the lobby

|Professional Cleaver (very rare)| Adds one charge

|Anna's ancient Grindtool(very rare)| Tremendously increases speed

|Iridescent Cleaver (ultra rare)| Adds two charges

What do you think guys? Nice? Trash? Let me know!

  • The hex totems are already removed within the first minute of the match, no need to increase the speed of that, really. Good try though, congratulations on this idea.

  • What if instead of increase cleansing speed, we are able to craft new pallets

I do not want to come up against 5 shack pallets in one match...

How would you build a pallet with a chopping instrument...?

  • I said this on a thread before but I'll say it again here: rebuilding pallets as they are is too strong.

So add a new type of pallet, the "splintered pallet" or something. Rebuilt pallets are automatically "splintered" and cannot be fixed to normal. These are always fixed as dropped pallets and cannot be reset to standing with Any Means Necessary. Splintered pallets can be vaulted a maximum of twice (or only once idk depends on strength) before they break and cannot again be repaired. Killers can break splintered pallets before a survivor vaults them to again prevent them form being rebuilt.

Also when it comes to you talking charges, I assume you mean how many full totems it can cleanse? In this case I recommend changing it to "14 charges" per totem since that's how many seconds it takes to destroy a totem. For example Iridescent Cleaver would then add 28 charges as it can cleanse 2 extra totems.

Very good assumptions right here, especially the splintered pallet idea me like much!

I think there should be a serious buff to hex perks introduced for this mechanics to come in

Like "hex totems restore after 60 seconds of being broken in another random totem spot and lose token" or "survivor who has destroyed hex totem is affected by this hex for the duration of the trial"

    Would be seriously appreciated!

Hex perks are pretty underwhelming at the moment and the axes/hatchets would be a fresh new survivor mechanic plus a reason to buff the totem mechanic.
