@Boss (this @ didn't work btw) Hmm I did play a swf game where my partner took about 30 seconds to load in. So maybe its load in times that make the new system feel worse then it is

@SmokePotion What rank are you? I reset back to the upper gray ranks due to not playing for a couple of months, and tonight never had a queue above three minutes (which I can handle, since that's even about where my QP queues are in Overwatch nowadays).
I'm also going to assume PC platform, since I see your name at the Deathgarden forums as well when I check out that game to see how bad the player retention is doing nowadays.
I'm in yellows atm. Which is why I'm so surprised. I was used to waiting 2-4 mins for games when in reds, but in yellows, where 50% of the playerbase is? Somehow I went from not having a problem, to edge case, as they refer to it.

@GrootDude (i know this @GrootDude didn't work, but i'm trying damnit!) (wait did that second one randomly work?)
Hey, if it covers the butt, it's pants! :p and she is clearly crouching and facing the locker to show off that booty.

But thats already a perk - Dying Light... If it means so much to you they can just swap the perk names?
Thanataphobia is one of my main perks (I favor it over ruin as it cant be destroyed). Combined with Sloppy and its amazing. I dont think the proposed buffs are need or justified...
I think they are. The first proposed buff is a QOL buff. The other twos are more alternative perk ideas for Thano. It really could use that QOL buff. Yes, it can be used decently on two killers. But even those two killers do have better options for game slowing. the simple change of stacks staying after death would make it almost an equal pick to Pop. Because Thano works on all actions.

i can clearly see her blue pants. my eyes were drawn right to it.
Worse blendette post this month :p

It makes sense considering she is stationary after a teleport.
Not really. Last time I checked, and granted I haven't been silly enough to do this since like, spirit came out. But last time i tried, you could still lunge from a stationary position.
edit: I put in a thread on the bug forums, now that I have a better way of describing what I'm seeing. I just wanted to see if any other hag players were having the same problem. And it looks like I am not alone.
edit of an edit: I am pretty sure the hag has always not been able to lunge from a tp, if she was standing still when she takes the teleport. Like, if she was hitting a gen, or hooked someone and immediately tp's to a trap. This would be nice to adjust as well.

With Legion,Thana is amazing.
I don't think it needs any changes, maybe only the first one.
the first one is the one I'de want. The third one would be neat for a future perk as well. I'm just tired of killer perks that get worse as the game goes on. It should be the opposite. Another perk that does this is Huntress' Lullaby. stacks 2-4 are AMAZING at ranks 1-4. But at 5 stacks, red players have no problems hitting the skill checks. That perks works by screwing with muscle memory.
Thano works ok, sure. But let's be honest, you can often put something else that is more effective at slowing the game in that spot. ie: Pop is now really good. So why would I switch from Pop, which always works, and gets stronger as the game goes on, to thano, which is weak in the start of the match and the end of the match (but strong mid game, if you are keeping pressure on, and are Legion or Plague)
-
Where is the cooldown located for his teleport? The preview showed a gauge for his traps/pallets. but I dind't see any indicator for when he could project.
-
huh? ok, lets go over this, a little bit at a time. I tend to be rather outspoken about the flaws of this game, but this arguement doesn't seem well thought out.
Plague: Plague has a normal movement speed, the ability to hatchet with puke, and prevents insta-heals. She can be used to great effect, and has drawbacks for the survivors. I do wish they would give her more status effects (same with clown) but that's mostly thematic.
Legion: he's strong. stronger then he was. I might not like his feel anymore (man going from 110 ms to 140 felt FAST and good) But that doesn't make him less effective. His tracking it top notch, if you know how to use him. He also has the ability to pressure the map with good movement speed.
Freddy: This is the one that made me stop and go "ok he's not thinking this out" In the freddy rework, all players fall asleep, period. freddy doesn't have to put you to sleep. The more people asleep, the more map pressure he gets. In the arguement the OP said "New Freddy you don't want to sleep only if the killer plays well. That makes no sense."
This makes 0 sense. NO KILLER SHOULD BE OP IF THE KILLER DOESN'T PLAY WELL. Freddy is literally giving survivors a status effect that he has to do nothing to inflict, just exist. But somehow, you don't think this is a dentrament? Sorry man, there's no add-on to burn that makes you good at the game.

thanks, im having probs with tags right now. His name pops up, but i can't select it.

This bug is back?
Basically, she doesn't have any forward momentum when attacking after a teleport?
That was a bug WAY back.
that is EXACTLY it. thank you, i was trying to find a way to describe it, and you hit it on the nose. She has no forward momentum when teleporting.
@peanits mind having the dev team take a peak at this?
-
every rank reset, when i drop myself down to yellow, I see people that are p3, and never left yellow ranks. So yeah, Blood doesn't mean skill.
Honestly, neither does rank, the scoring is dumb right now. 4k's for black pips. ugh...
-
@peanits I guess one option is to make LOS blockers an option for each tile, not the rule.

There were quite a few people who have been asking for changes. Over the past couple years, most maps were changed to include more line of sight blockers. While this is great for most other killers, it is unfortunately not ideal for the huntress. Loops that you could previously throw hatchets over now feature higher walls and obstacles that get in the way of hatchets.
In the right hands, she can still be pretty powerful, but she's definitely not quite as powerful as she used to be. While this is a fairly minor change, it's not necessarily unwarranted.
@peanits It's great to see you guys do little touches like this to help the QOL of killers that have lost power with changes. I'de like to suggest taking a look at Doctor next. A while back he lost the ability to shock people mid vault and stop it. While I agree with the nerf, his shock distance wasn't buffed to make up for it, which makes him very weak, unless you put an add-on on to buff the size of the shock. The brown add-on makes him a viable killer at most ranks. So maybe you could take a look at buffing the shock therepy distance by a small amount?
-
I also agree. There's a small bug where some people aren't getting the chase music at all.,And that's causing frustration at lower skill levels. (you SHOULD be looking around yourself anyways ppl. But it IS a bug so i can't grind on them to hard) But i've been saying this for a while. it's funny how when I said it,I got hate. But now that it's been accidentally added into the game for a bit, people ar elike "oh this is awesome"
-
@Peanits I have a significantly larger Killer que time. Significantly longer then I have gotten with any other matchmaking test you have done since I started playing. Sometimes waiting longer then 5 minutes before I'm put into a lobby. I used to feel alright with dodging bad ping games, which helped keep games fun. but I findmyself being forced to play with people I normally wouldn't because I don't want to wait another 5 mins to start a lobby again.
Thank you for paying attention

Hey Killer Main try using OoO in every Survivor game you play from today until next week and tell us right here how far you get.
Actually pretty far, especially if you have at least one other person to play with.
-
it isn't really slow. it just feels it.
The old legion went from one of the slowest killers in the game, to one of the fastest. By pushing a button. It felt fast. it felt good.
The new legions speed is only a little slower then his old max, and lasts longer, so it lets him actually use his power to move around the map some. He's actually stronger then he was.
He just doesn't feel as fun. Because old legion felt FAST.
-
If I were to buff the Clown. And I will state that I LOVE the clown.
I would focus more on him giving debuff's with his gas. This would give him a more unique feel.
1:I'de make flask of bleach base on him. Maybe not the full amount but the slow could use a small buff.
2: Flask of Bleach would apply the Broken status effect for X seconds. Where X = a playtested number.
3: Hallucinogens, aka Phantom Pallets: A new add-on that does fake pallets like the Doctor for people hit by the gas. Maybe have the fake pallets persist for 45 seconds after exiting gas. Long enough to matter, but wears off. To keep that clowny feel.
4:Blood Thinners: Yep, another add-on idea. You're giving the Borrowed Time meter to killers other then Legion (Ghostface ie) Why not Clown?
5: Muscle Relaxers : An add-on that makes vaults 1 step slower. Fast vaults become medium vaults, medium vaults are slow. Slow vaults are still slow, they already move like they're high.

A bit late to the party on these stats. If you were watching the forums when this was originally put out, you probably would have seen a very well thought out post by me going over the listed stats. But to summarise what has been said before.
The stats for SWF were not broken down by rank. The lower your rank (IE: Rank 1) the more likely you are to recognize the names of people you play with, and are more likely to group with them. And even when green ranks group, they aren't that much better off. It isn't until you reach purple that the 3-4 man groups have enough skill to capitalize on voice communication.
I've been in swf with both red and green players.
Green rank player voice coms go like this:
"I see the killer, It's Billy he's by the ugh.... Building. #########, he sees me. I'm down."
Red rank coms of the same situation:
"It's bIlly, He's by the center structure and moving to the killer shack. ######### he see's me, i'm going to burn some pallets near the center."
Also: The lower your rank, the smaller the playerbase, which means less games are played when compared to higher ranks. So, the ranks that have the most SWF are smoke screened behind the higher ranks, where no one knows anyone, or how to loop a killer.
edit: As for the playerbase numbers. They are hidden behind consistant free weekends. But they were down from last year, but steady. (Down as in a full years growth was shed in a short period. Steady as in, it stopped shedding, and maintained a number similar to the year before the influx of new players)
I imagine they will run free weekends throughout the summer season, and it will be fall before we can get an accurate snapshot of the playerbase. Next time they ask for stats we want to see, I'm going to ask for average hours played by the playerbase. I have a feeling that a lot of older players left, but were replaced with about the same number of newer players.
-
I don't mind the 8% riticle size change or whatever it actually it. But that's without being allowed to see it, so I don't know how big of a change it is. But it can be hard to line it up right on his body to knock him out of his stalk.
I don't like them changing his add-ons. That sounds like it's a little bit to far.
However, the Tactic for dealing with GF seems to be, Stalk the Stalker. Red rank groups have no problem making him an M1 killer. He can mindgame loops by removing his red stain, sure, but you could always turn backwards.
-
Ruin, Discorordance, Bamboozle, Surveilance.
This is my "I dare you to work on a generator" build. Another notable build is the "Screw your pallets" build you will have everyone suggest. Resiliance, and spirit fury.
-
There's only a couple killers that can consider using it. It's for Killers like Nurse. Killers that can break off one chase and immediately be on someone else.
Thing is, those killers probably have better things to put into that slot.
-
They HAVE to disable the perk.
@Peanits @not_Queen The higher up the ranks you go the more this is showing up. AKA: the more the players know, the more likely this is to show up. At purple at least half the game has it, and that's not fun. Im pretty sure it's stacking with other speed buffs too, like toolboxes. Because I'm seeing them take them too, and games are getting done in 2-3 mins.
-
@Perelie said:
You realize what you're suggesting is being forced to take 4 perks just to have a halfway decent counter to a base mechanic that survivors have by default?
first thing I want to point out:
If you take the 3 perk combo Brutal, Enduring, Fury, you are, indeed using 3 perks. But what exactly are you doing with those three perks? You are removing a large chunk of the survivors protection. And you don't even need Brutal Strength for it to work well.
-
I agree, they "Shadow Nerfed" him a good while back. What I mean is, his shock therepy used to be able to shock people out of a vault, and they took that away from him. And while I 100% understand why they did this, they did not increase the AOE of the shock to counter why it happened so much. (The shock is short, so wihtout an add-on, survivors tend to be mid vault by the time you can hit them with it.)
A simple 5% (or even less) increase to the total length of the shock would have made up for this difference.
-
@Peanits Mind taking a look at the hitbox on the corner of pallets while you guys are touching this up? They will catch you, even if you aren't next to them.
-
i tend to go hag, take off my add-ons and perks, and make their audiance realize that anyone that needs ttv in their name isn't that good.
That being said, they really need to fix the perk
-
We've been preaching this for a while. And they have FINALLY listened. Sorta. It'll be another 6 months ot a year, when we get dedicated servers, but your killer rank will eventually be per killer, and there will be leaderboards for each killer. Which I'm somewhat excited for. (i must admit, i' haven't played much in a couple months, due to the tank meta. so that takes a chunk of excitement away. But I'be beenplaying again now)
-
That would be a nerf to trapper and hag. No thanks
-
Also, a 3 month break will cause a loss of a significant amount of skill and knowledge gained from daily practice. This is why summer vacation is hated so much by the educational system, and why countries like Japan have school years that encompas most of the year with small breaks through out.
But yes, ther new pipping system means that better people are in all the ranks, and that it's harder to rank as a killer, due to our interesting pipping requirements. (I have, plenty of times, lost a pip with 2 kills for instance even thoguh I though mosta really good games on both sides.)
-
Keep in mind, it'sd double BP weekend. Which means it will take a while to get a game, when playing killer. If they would even out the BP farm on both sides, this wouldn't happen. But every time we have double BP time, a lot more people jump on killer over survivor.
-
@SpaceCoconut has an old vid that shows most of the core concepts. It's a bit out of date and could use some updating. But it will still teach you how to 4k. check out his youtube channel for it.
-
I think the dev was partly right. She might be strong with mastery, but short of that, she's kinda meh. The reason for this, is add-ons. With her best add-ons she is pretty strong. Without them, she is not. So i'de say she needs a little love, but not much. Add-on dependences is a mean thing for a killer.
-
With the successful relaunch of Bloodgarden, we DBD players have noticed that many of the things we asked for in DBD, ended up in Deathgarden. Are there any plans to bring some of it's features to DBD?
-
*plays killer 3 games* This killer is weak!
How about we give him a month to figure out his strats?
-
@PoisonN said:
Of course, survivors are the marjority in the community. So yes, I don't think they really care about killers... And it sucks because I'm not a huge fan of Nurse and Billy but I can understand why people only use them against swfs because the rest is inviable and lame (except Spirit... I guess?)
just because it's 4 survivors to a game, doesn't mean they out number killers 4 to 1. Believe it or not, most people play both sides.
Also, Hag is super viable vs. SWF if you know her. Same with Myers.
-
they repair them faster with the right perks
-
i wish the chat was made to only pregame. And i wish killer could participate. I know i'm a minority on this one.
-
Wraith could finally get his movie and theme song.
-
That's not how you lead. The army forced me to go through leadership training. And I'm sure anyone with applicable experience will agree. You don't talk over your subordinates, or make their points for them. Of all the things said to defend him. The people saying this bother me the most.
-
the rift and the archives are part of the same things. Doesn't matter. I hate the rift.
But i love the archives.
-
the new ranking system was like, next year. I thought that's what the map said anyways.
But this new pipping system is really bad. 2k's get you displeased a lot.
3 k for a black pip alot, and 4k for 1 pip is not uncommon. It feels unrewarding to be a killer.
-
in the dream world, freddy can set up fake pallets, and snares on loops to slow survivors that use them.
On top of this, they took my teleporting to generators idea, even the part where i said it could be used to mind game a chase.
So, I really like what his kit sounds like, and I will probably be getting him now.
edit: I bet they wanted Fredy to be able to directly manipulate the dream world, like change loop setups, ect. But i bet it didn't work with the code. So adding slows and fake pallets was the next logical step.
-
The band was there to cover up transition time. They need to get the right feed,s videos, sound, ect. Bethesda and Square could have used a band in their latest announcements.
It is the hosts job to move the show along, not step on peoples verbal toes, and take their points from them. People can down vote all they want. Doesn't make it any less true. @not_Queen let people finish sentences when she was in the host chair. But every time Math was acting host he interupted people.
Edit: And yes, I liked most of the reveal. Doesn't make my point any less valid.
-
:)
-
I actually prefer it with Lithe. It lets me get to something to hide behind,a nd the killer usualy thinks im still at the loop i just left.
-
@Peanits said:
You're actually not accomplishing much if you do that. You're not progressing for part of that so you're still taking significantly longer to finish the generator than you would if you did it normally. So long as you're hitting at least good skill checks, you'd be better off just powering through it or finding the totem.
@peanits that isn't true, due to ruin not only pausing the meter, but removing a fail skill checks worth of progress from it as well. Gen tapping takes a little longer then sitting there holding the mouse button, sure. But it's still much faster then plowing through the generator, unless you are hitting nothing but greats.
-
By being merciless. You need 9 hooks total, or you wont get it. Plus killing everyone. (more or less. I have mercilessed on a 3k. And I still don't know how, but I know it can happen) So you kind of need to be a dick. Tunneling helps.
-
i'm only missing 3 dlc, and i bought the hag queen outfit. Mostly cause I've been calling her my princess for months, then they released it and i was like "perfect."
So i think 80? on pc. I used to play on playstation as well, but stopped because of the frame rate difference. But i bought all the dlc up to legion on their, before switching.
So probably around 250ish all together, counting base games.
