  • @Peanits Well... Console don't use her because of frame rate.

But the OP does have a valid point. Look at all the ######### you did to legion, just because he can run a little faster. He has Nurse fatigue, can't see scratches while running, or bloodpools. Maybe something like scratch marks being invisible for 5 seconds after a blink might be a good nerf. for the nurse.

And as always: Give other killers some love and make them stronger when you nerf one of the rank 1 staples.

  • the biggest problem with this that I see:

No killer will choose the SWF lobby.

It would need to be somehting like:

    Casual: 4 man's ok

Ranked: Solo Survivors only (or maybe 2 mans?)

  • i was going to make a joke about how every time i check player data for Deathgarden, it has 0 players. But the advertising must be working. Cause right now they have 10.

  • People always bring good #########, it doesn't matter who you play. Doctors use King on me, and I play plain old fat Jeff. I actually wish Killer could chat with the survivors before the game. But I know I'm in the minority on that.

  • @Peanits Rotten fields is a known problem map. Even after you fix the sounds (which will be when?) That map is all kinds of bad. It's not that fun to try and hunt people on a map that prevents you from seeing. A map where about 1/2 of the totem spawns are in the open

The map is problematic to balance, i get it. If you went true to the horror trope and lowered the corn so the killer could see and the survivor couldn't, it would be a slaughter. Not nearly enough cover for the survivors.

That's why I suggest you retire the map. You have 2 other farm maps. On top of that, you have a TON of other maps, and new maps coming out. I think it's a good time to start discussing retiring maps that are to strong for one side.

You could even make a casual match que where these maps are playable. Giving the two lobby types another distinction, besides a lack of rank. This will let you continue to work on future maps, and can rework older maps if/when you see fit.

edit: I just remembered there's actually 4 farm maps. Abbatoir, Thompson House, Cow Shed, Rotten Fields.

  • LF's tantrum is a double edged sword. it's main use is so people can't locker juke him like they locker juke HB. Why? Because jumping out of the locker will down them.

They just need to remove the slow down on his charge up. The slow down gives survivors enough distance to escape you unless you have add-ons. So it renders the run/speed boost of his power useless without add-ons. If they removed this, he could chase people around loops just fine.

  • not bad. Except that it wouldn't make it "before work can start" that doesn't make sense. Instead it should be "before the generator can start." Since most of the time that you do engine work, you don't want gas or oil in the way. But it still will do the same thing.

I like it. I've been saying that they should add parts that need found. Then Brand New Part would just be able to be used instead of a part. Making it strong, but not OP like the current one is. But gas cans would be good too.

  • @not_Queen

No offense. But you are scheduling this for a friday. Many people (not me) have a life, and do things on fridays. An estimate will help these people schedule what can be a busy day for some peoples social lives. (IE: Bars with friends, Picking up kids from the Ex, homework before the weekend starts, ect) You've been planning this for a while, you're building a set. So you should have rough estimates of stage time. It tends to be someone's job to know such things as well.

  • @Peanits said:

It's a bit trickier than it seems. Punishing disconnects is pretty safe to do since people had the opportunity to leave in the lobby if there's an issue. Punishing people for leaving a lobby gets messy because there's multiple reasons why you might decide to leave. For instance:

    • Bad pings
    • Racial slurs
    • People being toxic in chat
    • Negative past experiences with one or more people in the lobby

In simple terms, we wouldn't want to punish someone because they don't want to play a laggy match, or for avoiding a guy that started insulted everyone last time they played and so on. Something like that could only work if there was a robust system that could determine if someone is a problem player and allowed people to leave, but that's out of the question at the moment. For the time being we are just focusing on disconnects from a match in progress.

this was pretty much my exact arguement the last time one of these threads got talked about. There's a hundred reasons to dodge that lobby. As of right now, the most common lobby dodge is due to Ping. That will change once we have dedicated servers.

This is the most common dodge because both killers and survivors dodge for this reason. Survivors want to hit skillchecks without a natural Huntress' Lullaby and Killers don't want to chase a survivor that has the spirits passive phasing.

The rest still need dealt with. But let's be honest. As long as the internet lets you talk to random people while hiding your face, there will always be a dick hole spouting racist ######### in random game lobbies. It's as guaranteed as someone using in game destruction to make a penis. It's something you have to endur. Due to the nature of such people, they will always abuse what they can to amuse themselves. So the best answer that can be offered, is to let people leave the lobbies that have such people in them.

  • Nurse. It honestly isnt that hard to get good with her.

  • I've had the camping tunnel cost me a pip before. Fun part about it was that I thought there was someone near the hook, since they were pushing the hook pretty hard for a bit. I wish the camping penalty would notice if someone was near the hook, but left, giving the killer more time to look around the area to be sure no ones there.

  • i don't know about everyone else. but I log in just to annoy this guy. It's my life's work, honestly.

  • well, it's not data miners.

It's devs sending out dev builds to the community on accident. I love data miners and what they do for game communities. However, these leaks are insane. BHVR's official stance is to not talk about them, but when you go to play DBD, the first 2 news articles you see below it on steam, are news about the ghostface leaks.

I honestly hope someone lost their job. because I've been fired from jobs where I didn't compramise IP.

I mean if the survivor gets bugged somewhere you can't reach them then you reach quite a predicament

Sounds like the game needs a stuck button, not a d/c button

Also, I've never once gotten stuck. Ever.

  • @Chaotic_Riddle said:

As much as I’d love to agree with this post, just as @legion_main stated, there is legitimate reasons to leave during a trial if things get messy.

No if things get messy, you're supposed to keep playing the game. If the killer traps you, you made a mistake. Yes, people trolling is a problem, last night I d/ced from a game where a guy lead the killer to my locker (i was hiding from bbq) and pointed me out, and I D/ced.

That does not make either of us right. It makes me wrong for D/cing. And it makes them wrong for trolling. Having a d/c button does 100% nothing to help the game.

  • @legion_main said:

The problem with that is sometimes there is a legitimate reason to leave

setting aside real life problems things in game can happen such as trolling teammates, a killer trapping you in the corner and holding you hostage, or even bugs can occur where you can get stuck in something

of course im not condoning people to dc im just saying you gotta look at the bigger picture

ok? And? This exists in other games, and they don't let you leave the game and ruin it for everyone.

  • @not_Queen is our Xellos.

When it comes to the word exclusive, it rings a marketing bell. Somewhere out there theres an asymetrical game looking to buy up horror killers for their game. (Last year, has been talking about getting movie based killers ie) DBD is the big boy of the playground though, so i'm guessing they are locking down some newer franchises.

  • I run it sometimes. I do agree it needs a little shorter of a timer though. 45 seconds is how long it takes me to get all my tokens on stake out, and i can regain them while I use them. This makes the perk efficient.

As a killer main, I don't think it needs more then 1 token. But I do think it should have the timer reduced to 30-35 seconds.

  • 3 protection hits is better then reverse Borrowed Time. No one wanted that.

I actually like the idea of tying the perk to taking a hit for the team. It was a creative solution. And one that requires them to get off a generator to do it.

    *thumbs up to devs*

  • they were to afraid of my Hag. Muahahahahaha!

Honestly I was looking forward to playing somehting other then hag, to see how things worked with no perks or add-ons. I was betting on Clown to be a sleeper badass in that setting.

  • The first one was a latency issue. the others were your rage.

  • @darktrix said:

When it is fully charged it is more devastating than Ruin in my opinion, as it affects all skill checks.

i actually think it hits it's stride at 3-4 tokens. At 5 it becomes significantly easier to hit the skill checks.

  • that looks normal. A sligthly larger then a great skillcheck zone.

I guess what I'm experiencing is survivors actually knowing how to hit skillchecks. When did this happen? Nerf it!

  • My buddy just got this game, and I told him to main Nea till he got her perks.

BL, Urban, and Streetwise is a solid build on it's own, and helped him learn the basics of the game, including managing exhaustion.

  • they wont do unlimited, since part of the reason for the perk, is to get you to leave the hook area.

However I have told @Peanits before that it needs a QOL buff (knowing he likes to run it)

At the barest of minimums, it needs to take effect if you start kicking a generator in the allotted time, not finish kicking it in the time. I can't count how many times i have ran right to a generator I knew was being worked on, only to not get a Pop off because the timer ran out as I was kicking.

  • there's litterally a perk to let you heal yourself out of dying.

but instead of taking it, you'de rather affect the game as a whole.

  • wait, you can 2k and pip? Tell me your secrets. Every 2k i get, the entity whines at me.

  • that explains a LOT.

  • there is only 1 Killer worth playing right now. And that's hag. I guess you can say that I have MoM issues.

  • They just need to remove the slow down from his charge up. Do that and suddenly he will be a lot more viable, since the survivor's running wont negate your speed boost.

  • I can't play survivor anymore.... not without a SWF team. I'm tired of AFK's and D/C's.

    Killer is.... Ugh... Unrewarding.

    4k and i get 1 pip.

    3k and black pip

2k (what the devs claim is a good game, and what they want most games to end in) usualy end in "Entity Displeased"

I don't give people hatch anymore, or play nice at all.

And that's not counting the tank META.

    plus totems have 2 modes:

Mode 1: Out in the open

    Mode 2: Invisible

And I only ever get mode 1 as killer.

  • @DarkWo1f997

Um, just because trapper isn't designed well, doesn't make her easier. It makes her more thought out.

The trapers only weakness is how few traps he can carry, and how he has to run around the whole map to find them, and then set them. If he could collect (x) traps from lockers his viability would shoot up a chunk.

Trapper is Dead By Daylights Tachanka. In the original thought process of the game, he was probably thought to be one of the strongest killers the game would ever see. Bear traps that make people stay in place, and can be a 1 hit mechanic? Sounds awesome on paper.

In practice, it's just not as strong as they thought. not in his current state. Sure he can be strong, but he really needs some love. And we shouldn't snub him by saying things like "Hag is easier then trapper." She isn't. He needs a buff.

You are comparing Oranges and Grapefruit. They are both round, and citrus, but completely different.

  • Sorry dude. It's a chase extender. And basic, simple math can tell you it's bad in the current state of things.

I don't like tying it to safe hooks, and making it a reverse Borrowed Time. Because Killers are nudged in the direction of tunneling due to Pipping changes. (i can't count how many 3k games i have where I black pip, and 4k games where i only get 1. And don't get me started on a 2k game "entity displeased" 2k games are what they are balancing for, and they are punishing killers for it. You have to hook everyone 3 times as a killer.)

That's why i think it should be tied to generator repairs. Preferably, the person using the perk has to finish a generator themself, or have x amount of time repairing generators before it is activatable.

  • There is a "Ninja Hag" build that uses it. SHe has a tiny TR as it is(24 base - 8 = 16m TR), so M&A lets her sneak up close to start a chase. It's a different "more direct" Hag style then I tend to play, but it works to great effect. (i think Space Coconut uses a ninja hag build)

Freddy is the other with a consistant 24m TR, and I have seen high skill Freddies run it. It lets them get closer and dreamstate a group of survivors, instead of probably just 1.

Clown does well with the 24m TR Monitor and Abuse gives to other killers. The closer you get, the more brutal your gas is (less chance of escape)

  • Nah, it's to strong for something you always have access too. The rework is kinda a reverse Borrowed Time.

I'm on record saying that I think it's a bad change. But because Killers are currently nudged in the direction of tunneling as it is. And I feel the rework will push that meta further.

I wish they would tie it to repairing a generator yourself or somehting.

  • Um Hag doesn't get "Free Hits." she has to predict your path, and teleport to it within a second to get a hit. And even then it's not guranteed due to the weird hitting system in the game. (I can't count how many hits I miss because she decided not reach out and smack the survivor, and instead short smacks air.)

A good hag understands that her trap can be used in more then one way.

tracking: I don't teleport to all of my traps, a lot of times just knowing a trap was set off gives me the information for what I need to do next.

Loop breaking: This takes more skill then people give it credit for. Knowing where to place a trap to break a loop so it doesn't get tripped to early, and isn't abusable by the survivors, or erasable by flashlights. Especially given how Hag traps HATE being placed next to a solid object (often the option doesn't even exist, and you have to pixel hunt for the right place, not great to do in the middle of a chase)

Flick traps: These are traps that hags usualy wont teleport to. They are there to slow someone trying to reach the next loop down, and give her a hit. They operate under the hag traps ability to force a survivor to look at it and change running direction. In order to use these right, they have to be placed OFF a run path, with it's AOE covering the path the survivor is predicted to run. If a survivor runs right over a flick trap, it will not slow them at all. it HAS to be to the side.

Run path traps: These are placed where run paths converge, and usualy have to be hidden in some way. (ie: in the middle of a copse of trees that leaves a few ways to run through it, behind a rock that blocks sight of it from the predicted direction of the victim) And are there for a Hag to teleport to and make up distance.

Wild Traps: These are versions of run path traps. They are almost only used on maps that have large areas with reduced vision (cornfields are the most common) They can be a waste of a trap if you don't know what you are doing, and they can be the most productive traps you place if you know your stuff. They are placed out in the middle of cornfields, ect to catch people trying to escape through the area, slip by you, or move from generator to generator.

The Queen is many things. But she is not "Easy." Don't ever insult her like that again. It takes a lot of time and knowledge to play her at a high skill level. Her 75% kill rate comes from lower ranks who just run to unhook, with 0 thoughts of traps, and where you will get 3 people unhooking, leaving 0 people doing gens. At higher skill levels, you have to worry about distractors prepopping your traps, and leading you away, popping your traps IN THE MIDDLE OF A CHASE, so you can't teleport. If you do, you teleport to them, and lose the chase you were in. And that's not counting a myriad of other factors.

However i will state: People that complain about legion need to stop dcing and learn how to play. He was never strong.

  • is dbd even in the chinese market? These laws aren't that new, china has had similar laws forever.

  • for spirit: Don't forget that you can stand still and make survivors think you are phasing.

This can be used to trick them away from excapes, or to get them to come back over a pallet, right into your hands.

For doctor: If you want to use his shock to prevent people from using pallets and vaulkts, you pretty much need a range add-on. However it works well once you get the timing down.

Also for doctor, don't forget to keep people at madness 3 as much as possible, it can slow the game down if done right.

FInal Doctor: The doctor is a 3 gen king. try to make the survivors do all the gens on one side of the map, which will make the last 3 gens very easy to patrol.

  • @EqMonkVeeshan He has the sweater on too, right before the principal was killed.

  • I would also like to point out that almost nothing happened at Sydny's house.

Most of the killing was at Stuart's house party (Stuart being one of the 2 people that make up ghostface)

  • She is balanced.

    Strong, Absolutely. But not OP.

The reason for her high kill rate is over altruism at lower ranks. Once you get to purple and red ranks the games become a different kind of game.

  • We'de feel out of place. Everyone always knew the Nurse and Spirit were great. While Hag was tossed to the bottom of tier lists and made fun of by content creators for a while.

2nd class S tier killer club though? We'de be all in.

  • eh, i don't like the removal of offerings i actually use.

More likely you should remove reagents for Killer. (only killer I have ever used a reagent on was hag, to help hide my traps.)

And the offering that makes everyone start together/ them start with one other person. This is mostly redundant since they changed the survivor spawns to be further from the killer. I start every trial with one other person, if not my whole team, when playing survivor.

An easy way to fix the grind is to unlock perks people have unlocked, at rank 1, without the need to find it on the bloodweb. And new killers/survivors should start with all 4 slots open. Starting someone with 1 perk is dumb. Even if they are brand new, they should have the 3 basic perks of who they are playing.

  • Make a shirt that says:

    "Just Clowning Around"

    with the coulrophobia icon.

    (also acceptable, the clowns face)

SharkRobot does awesome work. And has solid customer service.

    https://sharkrobot.com/

  • Spirit: Her whooshing sound does not always play when it should.

  • @Delfador

I thought about area reveal. But decided that area reveal doesn't have a direct counter like Aura reading does. So I felt Aura reading would be more fair. If they made Calm heart counter all area reveals, it would make it a good counter.

  • Like when i saw Laurie not run old DS.

i just take hag when I see Ash. In fact, i am back to mostly playing hag. Screw Tank Meta.

  • @Milo

Ofc it works with self healing. It has a couple of work arounds. Self heal inside the tr, or take Distortion. Also, it only takes place after the person is healed.

@Saint_Ukraine It';s a legal term for someone practicing medicine wihtout a liscense. The name could be changed to anything else that works, but it was the name we came up with that makes sense.

  • because deep wounds is meant to be weak. They are giving it to Ghost face (via add-on), so we can probably expect to see it show up on other add-ons.

Entity forbid that someone uses a non-pressure ability to put pressure on someone by actually hunting them. Instead of just letting people escape chases.

  • Make Your Choice: Now only works on the UNHOOKED survivor.

Hex:Ruin The skull now says "Look-At-Me!" when you pass it.

Coulrophobia: The symbol for coulrophobia will now be the clown, nude.
