Yes, I like it very much on Nurse.
Unfortunately, it easily falls off in this meta where every survivor is expecting NOED, meaning that hexes really get to live little to nothing.
-
Not worth it.
Even the dumbest of survivor will play extremely careful when they realize you got Rancor. There's so much more useful perks to use and Rancor doesn't really get to shine since it was originally intended to """counter""" the old DS.
-
Using SoS is begging to play on extremely hard mode.
All survivors will be separated, thus repairing 4 different gens at the start of the game, what's more: they'll think they are facing a mori and will do their best to survive, meaning that there will be literally 0 time for mistakes.
-
Yes, it feels amazing to heal AND be healed with we'll make it.
I wish more people would run this little fella
-
Nothing. I just go to the next game and deal with it. ggs from me are only for games that were good for both (high BP gain, good manners and etc.) to avoid hypocrisy.
-
-
Shadowborn is in a very weird state actually... It's useless on most m1 killers but it's extremely good, almost core on Nurse.
Don't get me wrong, everyone can enjoy a wider FOV but Nurse definitely gets huge advantages out of it since it helps a ton with fatigue and blink tracking. If I had to nominate other killers that benefits shadowborn the most, Huntress and Spirit definitely come to mind.
-
When I first started playing I found Resilience to be way too little rewarding for it's risk. Find out later that it's actually pretty decent and not to be underestimated.
Then, when I started playing killer around 2 weeks after I got the game I seriously thought that Enduring was crap since I always thought "Why would you even risk to be stunned", later find out that was one of the best.

no let killers play the way they want to play.
I hope you think the same way for survivors 😇

Dead hard cannot be remotely considered right now. Way too unreliable and net based, I switched back to Balanced Landing and I'm doing just great.

Yeah true but maybe that person would not feel the need to insult when you do not change one perk that is used so much and do not even consider the people that do use it. I was irritated that you guys did not even bother to state how you consider the perspective of killers that did use ruin even after all that backlash and just go on from the perspective of bad survivors. Like most of the toxic feedback was rooted exactly there and you do not talk about it.
Oh boy. There's no justification to insult a game developer for making a change ON THEIR GAME. Especially when it was done for the reason that new players didn't stick around.
-
Didn't use ruin so it didn't really change. I have games where I managed do dominate and some where Gens are done so fast I don't honestly get what I could have done to stop it.
But, I think that an increased time to Gens would be justified still. Even tho a second objective would be WAY better.
-
Basically "Lmao you guys are ######### stupid lol please respect my criticism"
Has anybody ever teached you the art of common sense? I'm almost, ALMOST sure that if you learned to express yourself maybe you wouldn't face this type of consequences.
-
It would be too powerful as a non-hex perk. Killers like Legion or Pig would skyrocket in the tier list with something like with their stalling tools but killers like Billy or Oni would become borderline if you added Surveillance to the mix.
I think that normal regression should be buffed instead. And make Ruin more powerful by still applying regression for 10 or more seconds after you start repairing a regressing gen.
-
On rare occasions.
Just yesterday 2 survivors remained in the game with one gen almost fully repaired. One of them had the brightest idea of making a lot of noise notifications to catch my attention, once I reached out to this Feng she opened the hatch and escaped... leaving her teammate to certain death once I closed the hatch (I had Whispers so I easily tracked the remaining survivor).
Don't be a dickhead, if you're gonna escape trought hatch don't do it in proximity of the killer and leave your teammate to die.
-
Survivors' que times are awful... Killer's que times are amazing instead. The patch didn't really bother me at all since I don't play ruin or doc at all.

I do play the game, and I am grateful it exists.
I however, am not grateful that many of the changes have been very one sided, or completely unnecessary. I am not grateful, or accepting of decisions made for profit > player entertainment.
If this ironic stuff is so boring , feel free to ignore the posts as they dont interest you instead of causing discourse amongst us.
Also, superhero? Nah, I'm just calling things out, and you took offense to being called a white knight for defending devs bad decisions, so you needed a snappy comeback. Sorry it didnt exactly work out for you.
I'd say try again, but this stuff is so boring to you!
Bye hon! <3
Already giving up? The ruin changes must have been traumatic *sniffle*

Its satirical, especially given the way things have gone lately.
However, your post isnt even trying to discuss why its hating on the devs, you literally just said "this is stupid".
I'm glad you feel better about white knighting the devs through insults though. Maybe you'll get a badge on your forum avatar for it?
I mean, you do play the game made by them so maybe you should start being more grateful? Don't know if you can.
All of this """ironic""" stuff gets boring really quickly when you repeat so many times.
Also, when something is just dumb there's very little to discuss. Get off my back now wannabe superhero :3

Don't even dude. Just another of those hate inducing thread on the devs.
Oh shoot, why do I even bother?
-
I mean, if this is the protest than it's hardly going to make it better... if not worse.
-
Of all things you want to take away you chose... Flashlights? Jeez no wonders survivors are making so much fun of the situation.

Good to see so many no ruin users!

Don't care, the crybaby survivors are the reason ruin is getting nerfed in the first place. I'm going to give them something to cry about, and I hope every other killer does the same. BHVR caused this, not me.
This won't make you feel better, trust me. You're taking revenge on players that probably didn't have nothing to do with this. If anything, this is a chance to improve altogether
-
@JC316 said:

Tells you something about how piss poorly balanced the gen times are. I genuinely think BHVR had finally gone too far and the game is seriously going to suffer for it.
You are blackmailing BHVR to derank and, quoting you, "make survivors life as miserable as possible" even to the point of deranking to make newer players suffer... How do you people even live knowing that you're taking your frustrations on innocent people that didn't ask for any of this...? It legitimately makes me want to cry.
-
Good to see we're quite numerous apparently. Maybe we can bring some little positivity in this disaster.
-
Thank God... All this blackmailing was making me sick.
Like, I haven't seen such a negative response like this ever!
-
Of course. Stopped using ruin months ago so this change will affect me in 0 ways.
-
@Cum_King said:
The answer's pretty obvious: not a single dev plays red rank killer. They're never been gen rushed in under 5 mins and could care less about high rank killer experience.
Time to afk some wraith games and derank so I can bully noobs 😁
New players are not the one to blame for this changes lol.

Nope, go see it yourself.

Chill out. Peanits confirmed some changes are also planned on items so it's possible we'll be seeing some toolbox nerfs.

We are planning on reviewing other items in the future like we have for medkits. When that will be, however, I can't say.
That's good to know! Can't wait to see the changes to the items... as well as the perks if you did any :3

In case the killer pushes you off. If they show up at your generator and start chasing you, it's going to regress (and fast). The only way you can prevent that is by cleansing the totem, otherwise you're taking that risk for the whole game. Otherwise if they hook a survivor, you need to choose between getting the unhook and losing progress or finishing the generator.
I don't use ruin anymore but I can see why people are concerned about it.
We'll be seeing changes to repair speed in the future? Or changes to tool-boxes? I don't want to cast misfortune on anyone of you but... you already know how most killer players react to this kind of changes.

We could go deeper if you want.
In castlevania, if you whip just before hitting the ground you skip a few frames.
In super metroid, if you turn into the morph ball at the right time, you skip the bounce and keep your momentum.
These things are everywhere.
But on topic.
If billy only taps the saw to trick you into going out of position, falling for that is on you.
And it's a risk on his part, if you don't fall for it and drop the pallet, he's gonna need to kick it(or charging the chainsaw again, which takes longer) giving you time to get to the next loop.
I don't see any other reason for tapping the chainsaw besides getting the survivor to be greedy and go around the loop again.
Fair point.
However... I think that we should put this thread on a pause. Ruin just got reworked and the forum will soon be under a war.
-
This is an extreme rework. I don't know how to feel about it until I try it out.
I'm glad I removed ruin from my build long time ago...

How do you have 1500 hrs in this game and don't know the animations of billy which are a clear tell whether he let go of the button or not?
Have you tried it a KYF lobby? Thing is almost instant, it's non-reactable in the situation the game. I saw Billy's slamming the hammer immediatly after they pulled out the chainsaw. I'm asking myself if that is even possible or is just but another consequence of dedicated servers.
I can see his mouth close at least and prepare myself for the m1. Something you cannot apparently do with Billy since *read above*
@LordGlint said:

The effect jumping in a locker has to get away from a killers power would be noticably stronger against Billy. If you jump in a locker to avoid a Huntress hatchet for example, they could just quickly put the thing away to M1 you when you jump out and do the same exact amount of dmg, while saving the hatchet. If a survivor is in a locker against a Billy and can see how far Billys saw is charged...theyd know when its safe to jump out. Billy havin the saw at 40% doesnt have it charged enough to saw you, and doesnt have it put away enough to M1 you (which he doesnt wanna be doing anyway).
Can you think of any OTHER killers that youd like a better explanation on how theyd handle lockers better than Billy if he had a tell like that? Im not trying to be condescending or anything, tone can just be hard to convey through text.
Wait, I don't want an animation to see how much chainsaw is charged. I WISH however to see one for when he puts away the chainsaw IF he stops charging it like most killers already do. Because like someone said already Billy will hit you in a loop regardless of a non-existent mindgame

That would be a huge downside to Billy is what HellDescent was getting at. Currently is a guess on both sides. Billy doesnt know if your about to jump out to have the saw rdy, and the survivor doesnt know if the saw is revving down to know if its safe to run out. Had a game earlier where the survivor won that particular guessing game by running out while the saw was at around 20% and dropping, so I didnt have enough time to get it charged back up.
Although LF has a cooldown when the chainsaw is put down, if he simply swings at the locker and bump it...he can often times get a survivor during the tangent or grab them immediately after. Cooldown on Billy would rob him of even THAT making lockers complete safe haven from a Billy
I don't get your point this time I'm sorry... most killers already deal with this so I don't get why Billy shouldn't be affected if this is what you meant.
-
I'm curious to know what will be changed. To be honest I hope it will get closer in resembling a real hospital instead of glorified series of changing rooms.

I feel like you're neglecting the part of that very same update that reworked instaheals.
Everything is forgiven as long as you guys give some love to autodidact pretty please :3c
-
Just like in any other game I would tier the character (or the killer, in this case) based on how much you can play around it.
Is your killer capable of pressuring even the strongest of survivors? Than the killer is high tier.
Is your killer not capable of pressuring above-average survivors even when playing at your best? Than the killer is low tier.
This is a very generalized generalization (lol) since you should take in consideration way too much stuff to make a very precise tier list. But people usually concur that the top 5 killers are Nurse, Spirit, Billy, Huntress and... Ghostface or Oni I think?

You can't discuss bans on the forum as said by many of the mods so it doesn't matter?
Who's discussing bans omegalul. I saw the prison bars and I was just wondering how he was writing stuff if the prison bars mean that someone is banned. And don't worry about it, the thread is already under control and I'm sure I didn't break any rule... otherwise I would have received a notification.
@Thasard said:

Doesn't matter how long he's charging and you are not gonna get grabbed if you fast vault out of the locker it if he has a cooldown after he stops.
If you stop charging your chainsaw it will deplete slowly but you won't know this. By the time you realized he has stop charging it will be too late. You stay? Billy presses spacebar. You exit? Billy presses m1. Both cases has you going down
-
@HellDescent said:
Healthy survivor jumping in a locker as soon as Billy revs his chainsaw. Then jumps out and start running when he stops it and has cooldown. Yeah nothing wrong with that
...That doesn't work. You don't know how much Billy will be charging his chainsaw for and you'll probably get grabbed if you don't have head-on.

Billy imo is B tier, people always over think him as being some really strong killer when in reality is strong, but overrated, Billy may be able to go fast around the map but his chainsaw isn't going to be useful 24/7, with DBD's RNG, Billy is very map reliant and if he gets an indoor map he loses all of his map pressure almost as he almost turns into an M1 killer, lery's is a good example of this. He would be A tier if his power wouldn't get crushed on indoor maps, but he is B tier as he is good at starting chases. Most people that think he is in the top 3 haven't really learned that his power is crushed on loops
I'll leave tier lists creation to the others. Some people think Billy is op, some don't. I'm just gonna say he's much more than just "viable".
-
@Hoodied said:

Billy on top?
He is LITERALLY countered by looping, and Huntress and plague are not low tier
Not kidding, Billy is always on top. Look at any kind of tier list of DBD and you'll always see him in top 5 at least... if not top 3.

Im pretty sure SF2 pioneered animation canceling. It started off as a sort of glitch that caught traction, so they decided to keep it. Many fighting games have adopted it, but its best known in SF. Thats why I kinda chuckled when you brought up fighting games NOT using it.
My bad. Should have specified from the start.
The "animation cancel glitch" you mentioned in SC2 is actually not a glitch but part of the game entirely. I'm pretty sure you're talking about a specific character that goes by the name Xianghua who can cancel attacks, this cancels however are not animation cancels but stance transistions.
EDIT: My bad! I read "SC2" instead of "SF2"

Fighting games in particular use animation canceling ALOT, lol.Heres an example for street fighter.
I'll admit I don't know anything about SF, I play SCVI where animation cancel is very limited or even non-existent. Once you go with something it's all or nothing.

the thing is, you don't have to guess against a billy, since you are on the other side of the pallet you can drop it on him every time instead of getting greedy for another loop
stop being greedy and the problem solves itself
I never stated that I was being greedy to begin with. I know the importance of blocking Billy whenever possible and I'll keep using pallets early to avoid the situation further. I still stand by my point that it's not good enough reason to have it impossible to see.
-
@Peanits said:
I would agree if it were like Leatherface, where you can instantly cancel the charge. As is, though, he has to wait for the charge bar to slowly empty before he can attack. It serves basically the same purpose, so having an additional grace period afterwards would be overkill.
If it as you say, then I'm just gonna guess the instant animation cancels are caused by a defect of the dedicated servers? Because if it is, then this would change everything.
