  • Her traps are designed to be just that. They aren't made to kill survivors, they're made to distract them from doing their objective. The issue with them is that they're heavily RNG based and the timer doesn't start until a gen is done. In my opinion, the first jigsaw box you search should be guaranteed not to work and the timer should start thirty seconds after the trap is on the survivor's head. If a gen is done before then, it starts immediately. And I think she could do without the roar on her ambush.

  • I think it just chooses people who can stay hopeful long enough so it can feed off them, as well as people who have certain skills to help them in a survival situation. As well as a degree in mechanical engineering, I guess.
As for the fog, I think it's its own realm made by the entity.

  • Fixing broken map design is in no way, cuddling killers.

A bit out of topic here.

Cuddling killers is making survivors stronger.
While killers are provided with more and more superpowers, survivors are being taken away most of the time-losing things: pallets, infinites, faster pickup animation, stamina not recovery in chases - not to mention broken hatchets, vaults and hook vacuum still there.

The result is that survivors are adapting becoming stronger and stronger, while killers are relying more and more on perks and addons, to the point that is impossible to find a decent Trapper anymore and even good Billys and Nurses are 1/10 the number they used to be.

This is a fact that don't make any of the two sides happy.

This is a very bad argument to justify broken mechanics. Survivors having to adapt will most likely make the game more fun. The killers will have to put up with less broken crap and the survivors have to put more effort into winning.

My idea to change it is a little out there. I would have the survivor running self-care start off with a certain amount of times they can use it, depending on the level of the perk, and they can "recharge" it by performing altruistic actions like unhooks or healing others. There are probably better ways to nerf it, but I thought I'd throw in my thoughts.

Well, there are a few things to hash out with that idea.
-Which scoring events (the full list) would give Self-Care charges?
-How many Self-Care charges would each scoring event give, and how many 'charges' would be comparable to a full heal?
-Would the Self-Care user start the match with Self-Care charges, or only be able to use Self-Care after acquiring more Self-Care charges in the match?

    @M2Fream said:
I dont care about the speed. Hell, they could put it up to 75% speed but as long as it is infinate, it is broken. I want dishing out hits to multiple survivors at a time to mean something.

SC should opperate on a charge system, so here is my change

Self care starts with 4/5/6 charges with a maximum of 8/10/12. where 8 is enough to heal yourself. You can use charges to heal yourself at 60% normal healing speed. If you do not completely heal yourself, the stitching will come undone at 2% per second  or 5% per second while running. You gain 1 charge back every 35/30/25 seconds you spend in the killer's terror radius

Would this idea be like Stakeout, where charges are only acquired while NOT in a chase in the killer's terror radius, or would your suggestion have survivors generating charges in a chase as well?

By charges I meant the amount of times you could use it. So if you performed an altruistic action, you'd unlock the ability to heal yourself. It would be stackable so, say, you got someone off a hook and then healed them, you would be able to heal yourself twice. Of course, it would only be stackable to a certain amount, depending on the color of the perk, and you'd start out with a certain number of charges at the beginning of the match. Just an idea though. It probably needs some tweaks here and there.

Yup, bought it 2 weeks ago cause my laptop is being fixed. Got the same rank there btw.

rank 1 isn't difficult nor impressive, one of my friends was rank 1 in his second week of playing killer, and soon after for survivor, and I have been perpetually rank 1 since release

You act like console players are worse when really it’s just the hardware that’s worse , same game  same objective. What I hate is how these other guys call @Vietfox out , he proves himself and then it gets brushed off to the side. That right there is why we can’t have intelligent conversations on this forum, we have a guy who like myself plays both sides but just because he plays  survivor more than killer it’s immediately discredited, what I would like to know is if rank one is so easy and all these people are so terrible then what is all the bitching about? Which is it? Is it so easy anyone can get there or so hard nobody can win it seems like the narrative always changes to suit people’s arguments on here when they get trapped in a corner

Its not about being "better" or "worse".

But a true gamer that wants to get into a game will buy a PC and play more competitively.
Ofc you cant really say that or console players will come with their torches, but please face reality (look at the console tournaments for example....)

A true gamer is anybody who plays games, PC or console. Playing on a different system doesn't make somebody less of a gamer, nor does playing casually.

  • Daily Rituals are there to push you out of your comfort zone. Most aren't too harsh but if you feel a bit too unsure about it, then practice with the killer first or delete that ritual. It's all up to you, really. It's better to have a few killers under your belt before you rank up so you don't have to practice them in the higher ranks.

  • The nurse seems kinda nice the way she acts at the end of a mori. Maybe she feels some kind of empathy toward the survivors.

  • @MandyTalk please close this. This thread is a dumpster fire.

  • This thread is why the devs won't let us have nice things.

  • @Nos37 said:
If the survivor is chased by the killer within the first 10 seconds of the match and the survivor quits, it should not count against them.

Yes it should. All because they were found that fast doesn't give them an excuse to screw over the other survivors.

Also spawned in right next to (~12 meters) a survivor on the Badham Preschool map earlier this week. I spawned in at the school entrance next to the picket fence; they spawned in the road just ahead of me.

I agree that situations like this are dumb and should be looked into.

  • @Mc_Harty said:
There is a lot of salt in this thread.

I dunno if I should be amused or embarrassed.

  • One of the fastest games I played was as survivor. It was against the hag. It was all my own fault since I wasn't paying much attention and she caught me off guard. I ended up on a hook, my teammates got me down, we tried to heal under the hook, she came back, I took off, she targeted me, and it turned out she had a pink mori. I was really pissed at the time but now it's just funny to me. But marshmallows sound good.

  • I think the trapper might need a bit more than that. And I like the Wraith being able to hit while invisible, but it would have to be carefully balanced. Maybe he doesn't get a speed boost when he does or it has a charge time so survivors have a small window to react to it.

  • This seems pretty accurate.

  • Once, I was in a match against the Trapper. He'd hooked someone in the basement and left so I was running over to save them. As I walked through the doorway of the killer shack, I was like "Oh yeah, I'm facing Trapper. I should probably look out for traps." Right as I thought that I got caught in a trap. I heard the heartbeat getting closer and I started panicking. As soon as I freed myself, he was right behind me. I bolted for the window and got caught in another trap. I couldn't even be mad, I was laughing so hard.

  • I don't know about this. It would probably end up giving a really hard time to the top players. The top survivors would be dodged like nobodies business.

  • 1.) This is done for time reasons. The survivor could easily just sit on the hook and waste time to spite the killer.
2.) There is a speed penalty. The only time there isn't is when the killer is using Agitation.
3.) This is done for balance reasons. Killers have their advantages (faster base-movement speed for most, no stun from falling, varying powers) and survivors have theirs (vaulting faster, numbers, little to no stun time for doing things compared to killers).

Hope this clears some stuff up.

  • I think it depends on how you look at it. I think it matters in a sense that people in the high ranks will likely have more experience, know mindgames, and know to prioritize certain gens. But I wouldn't say it's an accurate representation of skill. It's too easy to get to rank 1, some people are boosted, some farmed to get there. Then there's deranking. ZombeiGenesis pretty much nailed it.

  • Make it as unbaised as possible, present your argument in a well-thought-out, polite way, and leave your ideas open to critique and I'm pretty sure the comment section should stay pretty chill. But I'm not sure though. There was a post a while back that devolved into a complete sh!tshow, even though the main topic was just how to report on x-box.

The issue here is that the game cannot differentiate between legit disconnections and rage quit.

Aren't you screwing over the other players regardless of the reason why you disconnect?

There are a couple instances where I understand it. Like if the killer is using hacks or one side is holding the game hostage. I can't really blame people for disconnecting in those circumstances. But the bad reasons outweigh the good. Most people who DC, from my experience at least, do so because they got a bad map, they got downed, they missed their DS, people aren't going to get them off the hook right away, their ruin got found at the beginning of the match, etc.

I can understand that being on a time-out because you went against a hacker or got taken hostage would feel unfair.
But i can't relate to it: Met only 2 hackers so far and i've NEVER been taken hostage. (I must really be annoying. ;) )
Both of these cases just aren't common enough for me to think a time-out would be a bad implementation.
The time-out wouldn't be drastically long anyway, you can do some menu stuff, something else on the device your'e playing on, something else in real life.

Oh, I agree. I think a time-out implication is the best way to go about it. I just pointed out that there are some valid reasons for DCing and not everyone who does it does so for dumb reasons.

  • I would by a Jake and Wraith funko so fast with the money I don't have.

  • You thought the biggest war in this community was survivors vs killers? Nah, it's Bubbas vs Freddys.

  • This has been a request for a while now. I think it would be a lot of fun to have a KWF mode, but you have to consider what goes into it. The devs would probably have to make bigger maps to accommodate it, for example. And then there's the queue times. And then there's balancing it out. Two nurses would be insane. If not two nurses, a nurse and a billy. And would it be too strong for one killer camping the hook and the other pressuring gens? I'd like to see it, but I don't expect to for a good while.

  • I would play both sides along side each other. Knowing how one side works will help you know how to play against them. As for which side to pump more bloodpoints into, killers lose their add-ons regardless of if they win or lose, so you might want to stock up a bit more on them. And the Nurse is actually the least dependent on add-ons of all killers alongside the Hillbilly. The killers that rely on add-ons the most would be Trapper, Freddy, and the Spirit. When it comes to bloodpoints in general, killers usually get more per match so if you're looking for BPs, I would play more killer.

  • I think it's fair that as long as moris are in the game, keys are as well.

  • I love the Christmas theme as well. But I still miss the classic tune.

  • My take on this is that when you DC, you get a time ban that increases every time. So the first time is 5 minutes, then 10, then 15, and so on until you're banned until the next rank reset. That way, it punishes DCs without being too harsh on someone whos internet might've cut out.

  • There's a chef knife in the sink right now that reminds me of Myers.

  • In my opinion, DCing to give someone the hatch isn't right. It disrupts the natural flow of the game by using an unintended, unfair mechanic. You can say that the killer isn't entitled to a 4k, but at the same time, the survivors aren't entitled to the hatch. One side has to earn the other. If the killer prevents the hatch from being opened by slugging the other survivor and he finds the last one, he's earned a 4k. If the other survivor manages to evade the killer until the hatch opens, then he's earned the hatch. However, someone DCing to give you the hatch is blatantly unfair. There's no counterplay to it, and the other survivor didn't earn the escape. It was given to them. Being slugged isn't being held hostage. There's a bleed-out timer. Slugging, at the end of the day, is a viable tactic. DCing to give someone the hatch cheats the game. That's my take on it.

I don't like the idea of smurfing against lower ranked or new players. It kinda ruins their fun.

I'm taking you're trying to learn nurse, spirit or huntress, since any other killer can be learned at any rank. Just don't kill them, practice your blinks, throws or phase walks, injure them, and proceed look for another survivor. You don't even need to hook them.

True, but I'm kinda competitive so I'd like to practice without sacrificing rank. And it probably wouldn't be fun for the survivors I go up against to face a killer who's not really trying to win. It's not just about me either. I think having a place where newer players can get the hang of things, try new killers, and new builds would be good for the health of the game. But, as Lowbei said, it's probably not gonna happen any time soon.

I know there's already a tutorial, but would it be possible to set up a practice mode where new players can play against either an A.I. killer or A.I survivors? Maybe you could choose the difficulty as well. That way, somebody could try out a new killer without having to wait for rank reset or get the hang of new builds as survivor. It could be a nice environment for new players to get the hang of things without jumping right into ranked mode. There's KWF, but that's not always an option if your friends aren't online. You wouldn't gain BPs, level, or shards, but that probably goes without saying. Sorry if this is a stupid idea, but I decided to through it out there. Any thought?

Just create a new smurf account and practice there against new players. Or smurf account survivors...

I don't like the idea of smurfing against lower ranked or new players. It kinda ruins their fun.

not gonna happen. just not worth the huge time and programming required to make an even semi decent ai for either side, especially from a small company.

for a good example of this, look at this garbage bots in f13 that dont do anything but get stuck everywhere

Fair point. But I thought the bots in F13 were bad because the devs didn't bother making them any good. The devs for DBD seem to have have passion for their game, so maybe in the future this could be implemented.

  • Being the obsession alone doesn't justify the perk.

If you miss the skillcheck, that's entirely on you.

You may only get to use it once, but once can be enough to turn the tide of the game. Not to mention that the killer could easily end up facing more then one DS. As for dribbling, that's very situational and still wastes loads of time in a game where time is vital.

  • There needs to be more variety in totem spawn placements and no hex totem should spawn on a hill. Hexes are something you should look for, not see from a mile away at the beginning of a match.

  • If you reward camping, killers will keep doing it. Don't rush the hook when the killer is there and focus on gens. And if your teammates aren't doing them, that's their fault.

  • Good luck, man!

yeah last year looks like crap to me.

sounds like the OP will be buying a new account soon

Won't they keep perma banning him like they did with that Ochido creep?

He could always do what Ochido did and switch to another platform.

  • You hacked the game and got banned for it. I respect a company with zero tolerance for that kind of crap in multiplayer games. And all because others were hacking doesn't mean that you doing it is okay. Instead of hacking the game when you lost your progress, why didn't you go to the company first? Why did you jump right to hacking? You broke terms of service, man. Don't act like you have the high ground. You should be apologizing and trying to improve from this.

  • The feeling of horror never sticks around long in video games. Once you see the same stuff for a while, the suspense wears off. It's true that the meta has been stale for a while and a lot of that has to do with many perks being overshadowed by a few. Why run Pharmacy when Self-Care is so much better? Why run Balanced Landing when both Lithe and Sprint Burst are less situational? Territorial Imperative is weak and I forget that Monstrous Shrine exists. I agree that the endgame is lackluster and the devs have mentioned that they're working on it. The game's been on a better track, so here's to hoping things keep improving.
