Yes, on both sides. Solo-Q needs some QOL buffs and DC's need to be looked at but I wouldn't call it unplayable. On the killer end, I don't think there are as many Super Sweaty Seal Team 6 Squads out there as they make it out to be. At least, not as far as I can tell. Some killers still need some buffs and maps should be tweaked, but the game is actually in a fairly decent spot IMO.
-
The game isn't canon and it doesn't take itself too seriously. If it isn't your thing, just pay it no mind. It's existence has no actual bearing on DBD.
-
For future reference, please consider using more paragraph breaks in your text. It makes the whole thing easier to read and more digestible.

I mean, while I'm not a super avid watcher of Tru3, he was pretty critical of the state of the game while he was a Fog Whisperer. I watch Otz pretty frequently and he's pretty critical too. I'm not claiming to know the state of all Fog Whisperers, but I doubt they're all just "yes-men."
-
I agree. The devs mentioned that they wanted to lessen grind, right? Or am I crazy?
-
This wouldn't even be an issue if maps were fixed properly. Rather then getting rid of map offerings, I wish that maps would be properly rebalanced so I don't feel my soul implode whenever my Trapper loads in on Mother's Dwelling.
-
I felt like that change was strange as well. Outside of mega-healing builds, I rarely saw Botany. Med-kits are still broken and nerfing Botany didn't change that. It's as OP said, it's ignoring the real issue.
-
Bloodlust is a band-aid-fix mechanic already. I don't think making it stronger is a good idea.
-
This post has further convinced me that the DC penalty is working as intended and should stay for the overall health of the game. If anything, it should be increased.
-
I drew a winter-themed skin for the Wraith a while back that I would still love to see in the game.
-
Being able to browse the store while waiting for a game would be a nice way to kill time.
-
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think any of the larger killers can block the basement stairs.

Well, the answer to that is pretty simple. It's because ***** *********** **** *****.

I agree with all of that actually lol no argument. I'm stuck with the free killers and I'm horrid at nurse, so that last part about the map offerings mixed with the undoing of hooks ends up making me mad af
Yeah, I know how you feel. Trapper was my go to killer for a long time and part of my soul would leave my body every time I saw Red Forest.
-
Circle of Healing is far more game changing, some of the new perk buffs will mess with momentum much more for both sides then modern Sabo, certain add-on combos, such as range on Nurse can be overbearing, map offerings can be absolutely crippling on low-mobility killers to name a few.

There's a limit tho
There is, but sabotaging hooks isn't it. There are far more broken things in the game that ruin momentum in far worse ways.
-
Messing up your momentum is the point, my dude.

Exactly. Remove "Plunderer's Instinct" entirely and include it's possibilities to luck to find better items in chests. And luck should also affect the chances of spawning hatch near you. Luck as of now, is completely useless in this game. And the mist doesn't do anything. You can see Killers from miles away nowadays because the maps are too bright.
Don't take away my Plunderer's! What else am I supposed to pair with Pharmacy to add to my unholy number of green medkits?
-
Nurse is such a strange case. I doubt my opinion is very educated since I haven't played much of her but, from my POV, she exists outside the usual mechanics of the game. She's largely unaffected by pallets and vaults and big maps aren't as much of an issue for her. So you have this killer that's hard to nerf without making her hellish to play and usually gets even stronger to any buffs given to base-design killers. Design-wise, she's a disaster.

If two mods has to step in, it must have been an absolute trainwreck. I take a year-and-a-half break from the forums and this is what I come back to.

This has been both the best and worst comment section I've ever read on these forums.
-
Jake because I thought he seemed like the least played of the group.
-
Jeffs are super chill. They never taunt when I play killer and they're usually reliable teammates when I play survivor. To all you Jeff mains out there, you guys are awesome.
-
The game is not very well optimized. There was a promise for an optimization pass a few years ago and it never happened. And despite people asking about it and bringing up the performance issues there hasn't been any official answer. If they don't plan to fix the issue, they need to tell the community.
-
I think it's a very mediocre perk. I run it sometimes and I face it sometimes and it's fun on certain builds and killers. Others have pointed out frame drops and while that is definitely annoying, that's more about the bad optimization than Sloppy Butcher.
-
Making Predator base-kit is more of a nerf. The wide range of scratch marks makes them noticeable from further away and can help find a survivor you may have missed if the scratch marks were more focused.
I personally haven't had an issue with scratch mark brightness. I know people mentioned it was an issue for color-blind people, but hopefully the filters will take care of that.
As for the other changes, I don't really think they're necessary.

A streamer's audience is more likely to agree with anything the streamer says VS other people they don't know about, even if the streamer they agree with is wrong.
I have to wonder if they are still expanding their team. Cote said they were doing that on the 3rd or 4th anniversary stream... clearly they need more staff.
That's a pretty good point. But I feel like a lot of his points still hold. Especially since McClean said in one of his streams, I think it concerned the Blight release, that the version of the Blight that was in the PTB wasn't even up to date. It all seems so rushed and convoluted.

One kill with the Trickster?

Oh no, another 123123132131th time how SWF shouldn't be nerfed.
Devs promised to do something about SWF issue 4 years ago and nothing was done ever since.
All devs did was to add perks that give solo survivors abilities SWF get for free, which means BHVR gives zero ######### about SWF and it being OP.
"Devs promised to do something about SWF issue 4 years ago and nothing was done ever since."
Console players waiting for the optimization patch:
-
Spirit for me with Hag as a close second. I feel like Spirit's counterplay is too limited and inconsistent, boiling down to mostly guessing. And if she's running Stridor and good add-ons, guessing correctly doesn't even matter. As for Hag, I don't think she's OP but just irritating to deal with. If someone ends up in the basement, you're better off just leaving them to die.
-
Survivor. I like playing Killer but I'm easily stressed so I don't play as much as I'd like to.
-
Don't worry too much about rank. The pip system is lacking and DCs and Key games make everything a mess.
-
Yeah, he's in a pretty sad state. I don't know how they could buff him to make him a threat.
-
I once had a game where a group of survivors sent me to pre-rework Ormond. Most of them were running stuff like Soul Guard/Unbreakable and they were coordinating chases into Head-Ons so I assume they were a SWF. To top it off, I was playing Trapper. They 3-genned themselves and I was able to camp a guy on the hook and prevent the last guy from doing the final gen. I actually managed to get a 4k.
One dude ended up sending me a message calling me the worst killer in the game and I just replied with "You lost to the worst killer in the game?" I live for the salt.
-
I would make her crouch a bit quicker, I'd make it so when a survivor tries to remove a trap the first search is never a success, and I would have any trap put on a survivors head during EGC activate immediately.
-
Do I count? It seems fun so I'm down to try it.
-
Can you imagine if DBD had a smash bros game mode where the killers duke it out?
-
Infinite Tier 3 Myers is already kind of a gimmick. If the survivors play well, they can get the gens done long before he gets his instadown.
-
Honestly that would be pretty cool. Imagine a Pharaoh killer with skins inspired by Egyptian mythos.

I mean... If a killer blocks one person in a corner and refuses to hit them, the game will still eventually end as well.
Camping a hook is a valid tactic that has counterplay. It has valid reasons to be in the game and the devs have acknowledged that it is a legit strategy. Staying by a hook when there's multiple survivors around or defending a kill at the end game are both very good reasons to camp. Body blocking someone for extended periods of time does not have any gameplay purpose. Perhaps a mod can explain it better.

If a killer camps a hook, the game will still progress. It's not taking the game hostage in any way.
-
Another one of these posts? Step right up, everybody!
-
Body blocking is ok as long as it doesn't take the game hostage. If you body block to tank a hit, that's just playing the game. But if you trap someone in a corner until they quit, that's bannable.

Okay so I know this may sound silly but I was just in a match on grim pantry as The Trickster. A survivor got hit, through a pallet under little pantry and got stuck in a corner, I was able to go up to her and trap her in the corner so I immediately downed her with my knives and hooked her. At the end of the match she basically went on and on about how she’s reporting me for body blocking, which is reportable; however, isn’t that if you’re just body blocking a survivor once hatch has spawned or something so that they literally can’t do anything? Or otherwise body block so a survivor and other survivors can’t do anything to free them? I’ve played for awhile now but I just wanted to clear it up so whatever crazy report she just wrote doesn’t get me banned.
Body blocking for gameplay reasons is fine so they can't report you for that. Only body blocking for extended periods of time to BM is reportable. Like if you body blocked someone in the basement and went AFK for example.

People will complain about anything. I think most players on both sides agree that BBQ is a balanced perk with plenty of utility and counterplay. Anyone who says it's OP is probably new to the game.
-
I usually do run it but I've had games where I have it and still no one comes for me. And this is red ranks.

First: Do you believe that the game is survivor sided or killer sided?
Second: What rank are you?
Third: How long have you been playing/hours played approximately?
Fourth: Do you have main characters with the perks that you want in these games at least for the most part?
LASTLY: Are you a killer or survivor main?
P.S. (Share as much or as little as you want, just looking for some responses to this so I am not completely ignorant to different ranks and perspectives. Thank you for reading!)
Happy entity touching.
- I believe the game leans more toward survivor sided at the higher levels of play. Mostly due to very strong perks and SWF.
- I haven't played since the Twins were released but when I do play I hover in red/purple ranks as both killer and survivor.
- A few hundred hours. I tend to take very long breaks but I've been playing since early 2017.
- I main Jake and yes I've got all the perks I want on him.
- I'm more a survivor main. Killer is too stressful for me to play consistently.
