As survivor, I don't teabag or click at the killer. I don't run DS and Unbreakable in the same build. I rarely run DS ever and it's usually when I'm tilted when I equip it. I don't DC or stop struggling on hook unless it's for a good reason. I never bring a key.
As killer, I try to avoid tunneling and hard camping unless I have to. I don't use moris. I don't hit the survivor on the hook or let them bleed out to BM. If it's early in the game and I'm downing people fast, I'll let them have a chance to make a comeback. I usually let the last guy go if I think they did well.

SWF isn't a Perk. It is something outside the game. The argument is that we can't measure its power, only that it is an amplifier affect that until now, wasn't being taking into consideration for game balance. The longer the game has been around and the better the exposure, the more people are playing as SWF. That is why we have most of the Generators up in 3-4 minutes. So, we can't measure the power of SWF but we can say definitely that is a huge advantage over Solos and that to balance the game the DEV is trying all sorts of things to slow them down.
Everything else in your list, which you are making fun of, deserves ridicule. All that whining and winging is idiotic. But I would leave the SWF out of that list because it is an issue and it is something the DEV is clearly trying to address. Your advice seems solid to me as well; it is quite commonsense. I just don't like comparing apples and oranges, and the only orange in your barrel of apples is SWF.
I agree with most of what you said, but the console frames definitely need to be brought to attention. Console players were promised optimization over a year ago and it never happened. The devs focused more on cross-play while console killers still get frame drops from gaining bloodlust. I hardly believe complaining about console frames being awful is grounds for ridicule.

I'm not a huge fan of the Blight's power right now. It seems janky and a little unoriginal but maybe with some tweaks it could be a lot of fun. Right now though, the hitboxes seem weird and the repetitive bonking gives me a headache.
I haven't seen the much of the new survivor but from what I hear about his perks, I might skip buying him.
-
The FPS on console has been awful for a long time. My PS4 has no issue running The Last of Us or Red Dead 2 which are both way more visually demanding so why can't it run DBD?

Unfortunately, nobody is going to waste a perk slot on something that only counters 1 killer perk. (nobody uses spies, so I'm not counting that).
Then they better not complain when they keep losing to this playstyle. If you don't like Infectious Fright, run Calm Spirit. If they don't try to counter it, then they only have themself to blame when a strong build ran on strong killers is an issue for them.

A while back, my sister was on this diet that involved her eating cauliflower. It was late at night and we shared a room at the time. She was on her bed eating cauliflower and I was browsing my laptop and, for some reason, we had a mattress lying beside the door. My brother opened the door and stepped over the mattress. He asked us if we wanted to play Smash just as my sister sneezed. She let out this zombie-like groan as she looked up with cauliflower mush all over her face. My brother leaned back with an audible "Ugh."
Just as he did that, my sister got up and ran for the door. My brother screamed, leapt over the mattress, and ran away. My sister, blinded by cauliflower, stumbled over the mattress, ran directly into a wall, and ran into the bathroom to get the cauliflower off her face. I laughed to the point of crying.

I thought the trap was always activated? Help me understand this trap?
Ive been playing since last september and only wear trap a few times! Everytime I was able to find the key.
How can you wear an un-activated trap?
The trap will only activate if a gen is completed while you are wearing it. So if the timer hasn't started, you can leave the exit gate. If it has, you have until the timer runs out to get the key before it insta-kills you. If you try to escape through the gate with an activated trap, it'll trigger and kill you.

So i had a trp on my head and i got grabbed from a box so the pig tried it make it so when i wiggled off i landed in the exit gate exit area (to kill me from the traps) but i didnt die? i got the escape points and survived. Is this a bug or is there pig changes.
Only if it's activated.

I don't particularly find many of the characters ugly.
For the girls, the prettiest is Kate. They did a really good job with her character model. The ugliest is Nea.
For the boys, I think Jake is cute and Dwight is not far behind. Quentin needs a redesign.

Also absolutely down for this
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1383208#Comment_1383208
Yeah but that's role/lore vs actual gameplay. That being said lot of the killer roster is less blood thirsty (plague as an example) or likes to play with their prey/do the unexpected (ghostface likes people being afraid and spreading his terror, so letting a victim go in order to spread the word is totally within his purview)
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1383221#Comment_1383221
Exactly. Though, only in the context of a hatch given.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1383242#Comment_1383242
But the entity also feeds off a hope filled cycle the entity effectively resets the memories of survivors each trial so that they have an incentive to escape, who knows if the entity could feed of the kinda behaviour like that too. Absolute fear from a mountain lion toying with it's prey kind of scenario, letting them go whilst their transported into another trial.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1383252#Comment_1383252
I usually give incredibly good but not toxic players the hatch/or ones I know are 100% a lower rank then me/if there was a toxic DC etc. I go for my 4k's but it's not like I slug out hatch game scenarios every game sort of deal
But their role is their gameplay. The role of the survivor is to try to survive, so you play the game according to that role and get rewarded for things that help you do that. The same should go for killer as well. The gameplay should align with what the role you choose is. If you play a killer, why should you be rewarded for sparing? In the same way, why should a survivor be rewarded for dying? It would be like a survivor being rewarded bloodpoints for giving the killer a mercy hook at the end of the game when all the other survivors have already escaped. It wouldn't make any sense.

You get 1000 for a kill though, plus a ton of deviousness for all 4 survivors dead. 200 bp and the emblems as if you had killed them isn't going to change much.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1383082#Comment_1383082
Those people just like to be rude though I have done this myself on the very rare occasion when i've seen a survivor play mean to their friends.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1383057#Comment_1383057
Well yeah of course, but the blood points would be a small added bonus, im talking terms of emblems mostly as killing someone/giving them hatch are practically the same in terms of skill. Once you've caught the last survivor there's one of 3 things that can happen - you pick them up (and possibly get Ds or they wiggle free yada yada but rather unlikely since you can wait out Ds timer freely.) You Mori them (instant death) or you grant them hatch. (In rare instances a 4k can even happen in endgame.) There is the 4th option of slugging them to death but that's just not beneficial at all to either side.
What I'm saying is that taking someone to a hook/hatch should equate to the same amount of emblem points, but hooks obviously granting full bp. Ie the player isin't discouraged from giving hatch in any way, there just encouraged not too.
I see what you mean, but I still don't agree because it clashes with their role. Mercy doesn't fit any of the emblems.
-
The ratio is fine IMO. I think the devs should make killers as they envision them and focus more on making the killer fun to play and balanced. It really shouldn't be a quota thing where they're like 'So we made a male killer now we have to make a female one.' They should make the killer whatever they believe best fits their design.
-
If the killer gets way more bloodpoints for killing someone, they'll still do it more. I doubt it would make much of a difference. Especially since it clashes with their role. If you play a killer and you do the opposite of what you're supposed to do, I don't think you should be awarded bloodpoints for that. It's why I dislike the 'obsession dead' bloodpoints where you are rewarded for not doing what you are supposed to. It makes no sense gameplay-wise.
-
It was probably nothing you did. There's always people in any multiplayer game who will BM for no reason other then to trash on others.

I find playing killer very stressful so I lean more toward survivor. I feel like I'm less restrained by specific perk builds and add-ons so I'm free to try new things more.

I'd much rather have other objectives to spice up the gameplay. Sitting on gens is already boring as it is.

Been on a DBD break for a few months now due to personal reasons and boredom of the repetitive grind.
I watch plenty of youtube videos on the game and wanna play again like I use to, but the problem is everytime I play 0its only for a game or 2 then I feel the boredom kick in. Just feels like I'm playing for no reason.
Anyway as I stated I'd like to get back into it so what's the motivation for you guys to keep playing game after game of DBD?
I usually shake things up quite a bit. If I'm tired of the build I'm running, I'll run something entirely different. I'm running Sabo even though I know it's not that good but it changes how I play and keeps things from getting too repetitive. If I'm playing a lot of one roll, I'll switch to the other for a bit. Try playing a killer you haven't played a lot of or using perks you don't usually run.

Clown, in my opinion. Bubba at least has an instadown and Legion can apply pressure. Clown is just painful to play.

I main Wraith but I'm decent with Pig as well. I've also been working on my Trapper and Pyramid Head.

Inner Strength. Faster heals and counters NOED and Sloppy Butcher.

Calm Spirit is pretty good since a lot of strong killers run Infectious Fright.
-
Jake. He doesn't have a lot of good cosmetics IMO and since he's my main, I'd like to see more for him.
-
The devs do listen. I believe the issue is the devs need to reorder their priorities. I like the new chapter, but it should have been put off for a bit due to how much bugs it's created. Not to mention there are bugs that have been in the game for quite a long time that need to be fixed. I believe they should focus on cleaning up their code and put off the roadmap for a while for the sake of the longevity of the game. If they want consistent cash flow, they could leave that to cosmetics.
I also agree with @Rydog that there are factors integrated into the game that affect it's health. The new player experience can be absolutely abysmal and community toxicity isn't helping. I also believe that the amount of grind you need to do to get good builds for killers is unrealistic and forces you to waste bloodpoints on killers you may not want to. These are the issues that affect the longevity of the game. Sure, a new chapter will reinvigorate the fanbase, but having a smooth running, well-balanced game with reasonable grind will keep it going long term.
-
Because Infectious Fright is so powerful on strong killers, Calm Spirit should be meta.
SWF has extended the life of the game.
Both sides have OP stuff that needs to be looked at. And defending it with "You have OP this so we should have OP that" shouldn't be used to justify it.
Bare-faced Jake is better than bearded Jake, fight me.

I'm pretty boring but I'll join.
I'm from a family of eleven.
My favorite color is purple.
I have a dog we got from a store. She was super sick when we got her. She had parasites, was underweight, and had kennel cough. She's fine now though, don't worry.
I've been gaming since I was little and started on the Nintendo 64. I still have the console and the games work as well.
I really, really like smoothies.
I'm actually pretty good at Tetris.
I really love drawing and writing and I'm working on my own comic.

Actually, I believe hex ruin has more affect for killers who are good and can keep survivors off gens.

I've used self-care for as long as I can remember, specially when I pair it with Botany knowledge (my favorite perk in the game), and honestly, people say its a waste of time but thanks to that perk I've been prepared to help my teammates out whenever they need the help cause I can heal up quickly thanks to botany. If you think I should, what perk do you think I should replace it with? My current load-out is SC, Botany, Kindred (amazing atm, I get safe hooks 24/7 cause of it) and borrowed time.
Honestly, I would run a med-kit instead or switch self-care out for Inner Strength to get heals and counter NOED. Sloppy makes self-care take forever and a good chunk of killers run it so it's usually not worth the perk slot IMO.

Yeah i know , i just thought if they made more modes then we might get more fans
I see what you mean but from a business standpoint, it makes more sense to grow your audience first and then make a new game mode. Otherwise you end up dumping money into a game mode that either doesn't catch on or splits the audience and increases queue times. Maybe when the audience is bigger, another game mode would be worked in. I like the idea of a new game mode but it's just not the time to do it.

I thought they had changed so it wouldn't see stealth killers.
Just had a "match" on cowshed, and a Claudette was able to give my position to her team the whole time.

It was changed so that it wouldn't see stealth killers when they were using their ability, not avoid seeing them at all.

I hate playing as Nurse. Not only is her exhaustion a pain but she's not that good on console.
I hate playing against Hag. A game against a good hag is one of the most tedious things ever. If someone gets hooked it's a minefield and if they're in the basement, GG.

It's because they were the first company to have a really compelling thematic hook (slashers) that fit the gameplay, they've been aggressive about pursuing high-visibility licenses, and they are very active in supporting the game. Every other one-vs-many game that has come out since has dropped the ball big-time. I think if another developer launched a serious competitor that had a good pedigree and (very important) a strong license behind it, DBD could be in trouble, because this genre is ripe for disruption. It won't be on top forever.
I agree but with all the stuff that use to be in it: Vacuum vaults, Vacuum pallets, double pallet spawns, no entity blocker, real infinites, insta-moris, hatch stand off. It's kinda crazy. I'm proud of how far the game has come since it first came out.

Wow, that must have been one of the most broken things in the history of the game.
You should of seen moris. You didn't even need to hook someone before you mori-ed them before they were changed. I love this game but I'm honestly shocked that it has a playerbase seeing how broken it used to be.
