Can Jake get more cosmetics please? And an expanded lore while we're at it?

For most of my killers and survivors I rarely prestige them because of starting all over and all i get is new clothes. Is there other advantages of prestiging that I'm unaware of?
Supposedly, you get increased rarity of items in your bloodweb, but I honestly haven't noticed.

I understand it totally, but I don’t run into farmers that often tbh. There were like 3 Huntresses in the past few weeks that wanted their challenges done but other than that I don’t face them that often that I see it as a problem.
I see what you mean. Maybe I've just been having bad luck recently or maybe they're dailies, but I've been bumping into them more then I'd like too.

just point at a hook, most farming killers will obey and you can #########. into the next round ezpz. I love a good farming round as a palate cleanser between sweatlords but you definitely don't need to participate if you don't want to. most of us take it for the gift that it is.

you can also run the the farming killer and then let him know that you want to get sacrificed, I bet most will understand. You may still think it wastes some of your time but it can end it faster.
Sometimes they'll just down me and let the others heal me instead but some are nice enough to do it. And even then, it still feels like a total waste of time where I have to wait for a lobby, wait for everybody to ready up, wait through a loading screen, then get downed and hooked twice, then repeat the first three steps. That's fifteen to twenty minutes of wasted time. It's fine if it's not a big deal to you or if you enjoy farming, to each their own. But I'd rather just leave the lobby immediately and save some time and my add-ons.

Ive got to be honest here and tell you half the fun is messing with survivors who have no idea that youre not planning on killing them. I hit a chick with iri and she dcd immediately, the rest of us had fun 😂
I can see the fun in that. I've had situations where I would try to let the last survivor open the gate or get the hatch and they wouldn't catch on right away that were pretty funny.
-
@Mooks said:
I would say better boring farming and getting at least some bloodpoints than a facecamping bubba, but that’s just me I guess..
also there is not that much time for messaging and sometimes killers don’t intend to farm before the match starts but decide to after a DC/hook suicide maybe even depending on map or offerings
I disagree. I'd honestly rather load into a match, get one-hit downed, and camped to death because that wastes a lot less time in a boring match then the killer farming and me doing gens alone. Face camping at least involves some interaction with the killer in the form of a chase.
I agree with the DC and hook suiciding though, because that's not really the killer or other survivors fault and the killer letting them farm is seen more of a gesture of kindness.
-
@YaiPa said:
you can just do the gen and leave... you let them 2 hooks you then you're fine.
Usually won't happen. They do that thing where they down you a lot and let others heal you first and hook everybody once to let the others rescue them. I had to do three gens alone at some point to get out of a match and it felt like a complete waste of time. Especially after I already waited who knows how long to get into the match.
-
There have been games where I run Kindred and still die on first hook.
-
I don't really like facing him that much, but I won't DC or anything.

A lot of game are like that and they dont say "asymmetrical"
And I am sure we all bought the game to have the same chances, not only cause I clicked X role im getting the advatange.
It should be expected though, since it's a 4v1. And there are specific strengths that should fall to each roll. The killer gets more because they have to deal with four opponents. Think of it like a scale. If you put a four pound weight on one side and four one-pound weights on the other, it's balanced. That's the same idea the devs are trying to go for for DBD. An individual survivor is only one fourth of the killer, but working together, they are able to hold their own.

A lot of people dont know what asymmetrical is and my main language is spanish so I dont even know what is that.
All I knew was it was a cat and mouse game with licensed killers, and Im 100% sure a lot of people that buy this game dont even know what asymmetrical in game means, just go to low ranks and ask them
It's in the description though. It's a 4v1 so it being asymmetrical is kind of a given. You can't expect one of the four survivors to be as strong as the killer or what would be the point of a 4v1?

Asymmetrical game are not that famous so I dont judge them, when I buy this game in 2018 I didn't even know it was asymmetrical.
And you didn't adress any of my points but k
You bought the game without knowing the basics of it's gameplay?

I think it depends on how it's implemented. Maybe maps could show some of there locations or there's a good amount of them on the map so it wouldn't take long to find them. Just throwing out an example idea.

Yes his build wasn't very good. SF/Enduring is outdated, especially because they reduced the pallet count. PYWF/Nemesis is better.
That said gen speeds are a bit ridiculous. I'm hoping we get to see this "early game warm up" mechanic sooner rather than later. Against a good SWF you have no chance to get pressure when 3 gens pop your first chase. This coming from a survivor main.
I'm really hoping that it's some kind of secondary objective, like finding gas to fill the gens with, to spice up the gameplay a little.
-
They would have to get the license from the license holder and most likely give them a cut of the profits.

Yes and no. Yes because it'd be awesome, but no because, apart from what @LordGlint said, the basement is supposed to be where you're closest to the Entity, so it'd make sense that it was modeled after Her, instead of the killer.
Wait, "her?" I never knew the Entity was a she. i always thought it was an 'it.'

I keep playing because DBD is a very unique game that I think is fun. I also like the world and characters in it. Does the game have problems? Definitely, but it's come a long way since it's release. I don't see myself quitting any time soon.
-
Maybe it can depend on what add-ons you use. Some create blue and others create red and when you combine them you get purple, for example. That'd be pretty cool.
-
Otzdarva easy. He's good at the game so he's good to watch if you want to improve but he also memes around a lot. And he's overall a pretty nice guy from what I can tell. But there's this other youtuber, Not Otzdarva, who's kinda copying his style.

Here's the TL;DR
I_Teabag_Gate: Survivors are a team.
Huff: Well, yes but actually no.
I_Teabag_Gate:
-
The way I see it, it is technically in the confines of the game to do so. I never hook suicide unless it's the end of the game and there's literally zero chance, or to give the last survivor the hatch. At the same time, there is no mechanic like this in place for killers and I think it's only fair they get one too.
And the argument about 'if players don't play like #########, people will suicide less often' I agree with, I don't think it fits here. Because when you suicide against a killer who's camping, you're punishing your team more than anything else and rewarding the killer playing that way. I don't like hook suicides but they are within the confines of the game. Give killers the same treatment though or it isn't fair, plain and simple.
-
For survivor, I main Jake and occasionally Steve. I like Nancy too.
For killer it's usually Wraith but I've been playing a lot of Trapper recently.

I still think a SWF with For the People and Flashlights would do a better job picking up and saving teammates than all using Unbreakable.
Even in that scenario, Unbreakable allows you to recover faster, which means they can pick you up faster.

No Killer who's slugging for Decisive expects them to still be on the floor 60 seconds later. They're just doing it for slowdown.
Unbreakable not only allows you to get up once from being slugged but it increases the rate at which you recover. Pair this with a coordinated team and you usually won't be on the ground long if the killer decides to slug. It's definitely a strong perk with DS.
-
It's annoying but that's all. Nothing I would report for. And your English is good, no worries.
-
Unbreakable is extremely powerful when paired with DS because it weakens one of it's counters.
-
Whenever I pick Trapper, Mathew Cote himself codes the game so I get an in-door map every time.
-
I don't know where you've been. Chainsaw Myers is the best killer in the game.

Yeah, of course solos should run DS. It's a good perk. I really have no issue with it on paper. It's just the combined usage in SWF's that gets overwhelming.
I agree. SWF is a problem on its own.

Sure, and then the killer is throwing the match. The great looper did their job, essentially.
In that case, everyone should be happy.
True, but I completely understand solos running it because they can't know for sure that their team will do gens while they're being chased, or they can't communicate to their team that no one is coming to the hook or too many people are. And with how matchmaking is, the skill of your teammates is a mystery. Am I saying killers should never tunnel? No, but I don't have any issues with solos running DS.
-
@Bovinity said:

"I got tunneled because I'm so good" is not only a silly fantasy, it would be exactly what the team wants if they were actually that good.
The reality is that it's the weakest link that gets caught and "tunneled" because they're so easy to catch. No killer is going out of their way to identify the best player and "tunnel" them, unless they feel like throwing the match.
That happens sometimes. People get tilted. It's not unheard of. Someone leads the killer on a chase, killer gets mad, tunnels them off the hook. I've seen it.
-
@Bovinity said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1321592#Comment_1321592
I never said that you'd never get caught. Nice strawman.
Also, the killer doesn't control any part of the situation when it comes to unhooking. (Except a facecamping Bubba, I guess) If your team is unhooking you in the killers face without all the proper defense, that's the survivors fault. If you can't move away and hide without getting tracked easily after an unhook, that's the survivors fault.
You sure as hell aren't being "tunneled" for "being too good". That's for sure.
Stop blaming killers for killing.
I have encountered killers who tunnel a survivor because they did good. Is it so unbelievable that a killer can get tilted and take it out on the survivor? I'm not saying there aren't reasons to tunnel, but at the end of the day, the killer actively makes that choice and sometimes it's because they're tilted.
-
I went into a locker to avoid BBQ in a match and couldn't get out. The killer literally opened the door to get me out and couldn't. Had to DC out of that one.
-
I really hope the characters get updated as well as their animations.
-
I'll run a yellow med-kit with bandages over Self-Care any day. I'd even pick Pharmacy over it.
-
It'll help but if they really want to make it scarier, the whole atmosphere needs to be altered. For example, it would be way scarier to hear a bone crunch in a bear trap instead of a loud snap. Or if the wounds were visible on the survivors. Or if Trapper's footsteps were heavier (Maybe not though because of balance and stuff.)
-
@Walker_of_the_fog_96 said:
I can create my own choose ?
Sure go for it.
-
Maybe give it a more clear animation so it doesn't look so wonky, but it's the same as every other killer.
-
Just make struggle automatic. Most people don't like the button-mashing anyway and it would stop hook suicides.
-
I love chocolate. I love pizza. But the two should never be combined.

I don't think a totem counter should be specifically on Small Game(btw Small Game is trash, fight me Small Game fans! Detectives Hunch is better). It should be on the HUD specifically. Breaking totems is still risky, if 5 totems are getting broken, the killer got more time out of the game.
As for other changes, make Kindred base kit. I'm tired of them making perks a substitution for systems that should just be automatically in the game. There's no reason it shouldn't be base kit, reduce the range of seeing the killer if they have to, but being forced to run a perk to account for an obvious flaw in the game is stupid.
I really like the idea of Kindred at base. It's almost a must run for solos as a perk.

Totems need all the advantages they can get. You're literally destroying the killers perks. It's why nu-ruin is scoffed at. People countered it by finding totems fast and destroying them all.
You don't want to deal with Noed in a public game? Then it's the rules of the wild. You don't need to be fast. Just faster than the guy behind you.
That's an issue with totem places in general. Like in Crotus Prenn asylum, how they just spawn in the middle of a field. What totems need is better placement. A totem counter won't help find them any faster, it just helps slightly close the massive gap between solo and SWF by giving the solos the information SWF already has. And if it's too strong at base, add it to small game so the survivor has to use a perk slot for it.
-
@Tactless_Ninja said:
A totem counter is just a noed detector. Just sayin.
Different gen skins would be nice. It's too easy to spot a gen from afar. Some actual searching may liven the game up.
True, but if a base kit totem counter makes NOED too weak, than just add it to small game. A totem counter doesn't really give the survivor information a SWF doesn't have already.
Gen skins are a cool idea. I would like if they updated the graphics for them too.
-
Waiting for a lobby and then getting into a loading screen only for someone to DC and get booted right back to character select screen. It's better then someone DCing at the start of the match and having to play that game though.

The most butthurting things of Dead by Daylight imo.
Both of them provide players with completely unfair and overpowered advantages preventing any fun for opponents.
SWF allows extreme coordination and trivializes certain Killer mechanics like stealth, Blindness, the entire team is totally aware about what Killers do. Mori just cuts off the majority of gameplay stealing interest for both sides.
Just remove it. Block swf. Delete moris. It is very simple. it is anway impossible to ever reduce the gap between solos and swf, and mori being nerfed (for instance killing after hooking twice) would be a trash.
I won't say that SWF doesn't create an imbalance, but without it this game would probably die. A lot of people enjoy playing games with their friend and getting rid of SWF essentially cuts out a chunk of the playerbase. I honestly think the best way to fix the issue is to buff solo survivor and killers accordingly instead of getting rid of SWF. As for moris, I actually like the animations for them so I don't think we should get rid of them. Maybe change them though.
-
I've always found solo more challenging and more fun.
