Not to mention her blinks. Are extremely laggy and stuttery at the moment

Use as many bloody party streamers as possible. Survivor puddings as well.

This is how event offerings used to look like. Up to 6 per bloodweb.
I can’t believe behavior is somehow being greedy with even just digital event currency.

They have a strong will I guess. You just need really cheeky spots, I really like putting mine at the bottom of hills and at corners of loops instead of by pallets or windows. People don’t always expect it. He is very difficult though so I usually don’t go through the pain of playing him unless I have a daily.
-
I will say that I don’t like going against slinger but he’s definitely not the least fun to verse. And his map pressure is kind’ve weak so even though his chase is strong you can kind of just pre-drop omega safe pallets and waste his time. I just wish he had some kind of wind up like huntress so survivor’s even had just a second to react, that’s my only real complaint about him though.
-
I love how they said they’re going to be focusing on the anniversary and Halloween events from now on only for it to be the exact same this year. Some item, cake offerings, and balloons on gens. Like cool I’m glad to see you still had those texture files but could you please think of something innovative.

Matter of fact, you're throwing around a lot of conjecture and presenting it as evidence.
You do not know the details of BHVR's licensing agreement with Capcom. You weren't there, you aren't involved. None of us are. We can look at Claire and assume that Capcom wouldn't approve all we want, but our assumptions do not make something fact. That Claire exists in her current state without any alterations or announcements from either Capcom or BHVR suggests that Capcom approved her design before release (almost guaranteed), gave BHVR some flexibility in designing her character model, or are - at worst - upset and working things out behind the scenes. The idea of BHVR just slapping together a design without Capcom's consent - a presumable breach of contract in complete defiance of their intellectual property rights - is absurd.
Thank you for drawing out the entire pint of me saying “I am unsure of what actually went down but we can assume”. It’s a video game forum, not the New York post. There’s going to be speculation.

I guess with any "bugfix", they can't be selective as to which linked cosmetics it affects.
Personally I love the "bug", but totally understand the reasons behind having to fix it.
they can be selective as they want, it’s their video game. Especially in regards to their original characters they can EASILY unlink the sets in the game. They’re deliberately choosing not to. It isn’t necessarily them upholding the integrity clause of their contracts, it’s that they don’t even do it themselves.

@TragicSolitude said:
I can understand Legendary sets being linked.
I don't get why Leon's and Jill's old-school outfits are linked sets. Why can remake Leon and Jill be covered in blood but old-school Leon and Jill can't even have bloody heads? And did Capcom really force BHVR to sell Jill's old-school outfit as a full-price 3-piece set that only consists of 2 new pieces?
Any original character cosmetics that don't have clipping issues should be unlinked. Why is Yun-Jin's very rare outfit linked at all? Why can people not equip Kate's or Jane's hair outside of their Oktoberfest and Greek outfits?
I've only ever bought one linked set, the Look-See. I liked being able to glitch out the weapon for something that actually suits him, but it isn't a deal-breaker. I will seriously miss it, though. Meanwhile, I will never buy the Mordeo outfit unless they unlink it. Neither of those sets should be linked, just like the Hag's Birch set isn't linked.
And BHVR needs to negotiate with Konami to get Cheryl some goddamn pants, man.
No literally, no way in HELL did Capcom say “yeah go ahead and force people to buy the same head cosmetic twice” Like there just simply ain’t no way. Matter of fact I know they had little-to-no say in the released cosmetics because they would’ve taken one look at Claire’s face in her legendary skin and sent them back to the drawing board. Like I understand character integrity but they literally aren’t even upholding the integrity themselves it’s so hypocritical.

I'm so pissed right now, I had 5 rounds in a row with afk killers.
But then I noticed something. 3 of them had 8k without doing something. And there were all spirit.
I did a test and...well, if you stand still and just press m2 you get 250 points every time. Also they had the heart perk that gives you +100% points.
How is that a possible thing?
It’s just BP for using her special ability. I do wish survivors earned more passive blood points to even it out. But yeah it’s pretty easy to farm BP with certain killers like freddy and spirit. That’s why people do it and they also want to derank most of the time. It is reportable.

The game is crashing for many people across various platforms. We put up with no DC penalty for months and months so I think it’ll be okay as long as a hot fix is soon to come. Until then we just gotta deal.
-
I have only been playing since August of last year but I just recently got all the survivor perks. I have about half of the killer perks whether it be from the shrine or by leveling them.
I try to change up my build, especially on killer. With survivor some of them are so bad they aren’t even ironically fun to use. For example, Red Herring doesn’t work on nearly any killer with BBQ and is more of a waste of time and almost always leads to sandbagging a teammate when it does work correctly. Wish there were more meme perks that worked more efficiently. I think deception is a great example of a meme perk that can be useful.

No because taking away other’s joy doesn’t give me satisfaction.

I was looping shack against a less experienced wraith and some random Bill just came up mid-chase and threw down shack pallet right in my face. I swear bill’s or either the worst or best there is no middle ground.
-
I main nurse when I decide to play killer and that noise is so familiar for some reason. It sounds like some kind of toy from childhood I can’t remember. It is funny, honestly it doesn’t bother me but will probably be removed eventually.
-
Here are the perks I throw on my hag, although I don’t play her as much as I once did.
Franklin’s- Even if you don’t see a flashlight in the lobby it is always nice to have one in case somebody finds one. If a survivor who has half decent game awareness has a flashlight they can sabotage your web to hell and back.
BBQ- Bloodpoints because I’m greedy and hag earns them pretty easily
Ruin or Pop- Just for some game slowdown, if somebody doesn’t pop a trap by a gen you need to pop it can be redundant to run as she isn’t very mobile without her web of traps but it’s still helpful. Ruin is completely RNG though and is risky.
Sloppy- Keeping survivor’s injured is your goal, much easier to snowball with your traps when you have multiple injuries.
STBFL- Not great if your obsession keeps running into your traps or dies early on. Not my favorite on her but many say differently.
Dark Devotion- Used with rusty shackles this perk is completely devastating at giving people no time or idea of where you are and when you have teleported.
Build 1: Franklin’s, Sloppy, BBQ, Ruin
Build 2: Pop, Sloppy, Dark Devotion, Ruin
Build 3: BBQ, sloppy, STBFL, dark devotion
-
I got mine on my first try but it took my friend a few tries to finally get it. I’m not sure why it’s like this but considering the devs have gone out of their way to make it a ‘’mysterious’ event we can’t really know the conditions of getting it.

The ratio of toxic people on COD compared to DBD is crazy. I could probably count on my hands the amount of people on COD I’ve run into that aren’t insanely aggressive.
-
I actually agree with this killer tier list. Nice work!
-
Yeah you hit the nail on the head. The devs really just wanted to bring the game up to date on its graphics. Especially to new players the graphics seemed a bit behind the times, character models have been getting much more detailed as well as I’m sure you have seen.
Some light balancing work has been done on the maps too, especially Ormond which has completely changed balance wise. They only have a few maps left, those being Haddonfield, Swamp, and Red Forest to the best of my knowledge. I hear that since Resident Evil is such a large chapter they may introduce a new map but we shall see. Welcome back!
-
I think it’s just because a lot of twins players (not all of them) play kind’ve like hag where it’s a constant go back to hook game which just gets boring. Placing victor under the hook before hooking a survivor is a good example. I personally don’t mind facing them especially if it’s a twins player that uses their power to actually spread map pressure rather than just camp hooks constantly.
The second reason I think people dislike the twins is because of how less experienced players don’t really know how to counter victor. He is extremely quick and when you have toy sword it feels like there is little you can do about him just getting a down besides praying they miss. I’ve learned over time that small circular objects (like the new weird hay circular objects on coldwind) are a great way to deny victor a down just by making him unable to charge fast enough to get a hit.

I think it will be quite awhile before they make it to Zarina. She was released at the end of 2019 I believe if my memory serves me correctly. She honestly looks decent as is, but your design is cool. I just wouldn’t expect her to be updated any time soon. Especially when people like David and Nea are much older character models that are likely to receive updating.
-
To answer the OP yes killers often times get frustrated when getting looped, most killers brush it off and just go chase somebody else. However, just like anything in the world there are some killers that just want to make a survivor’s experience miserable since they’re decent at the game and they feel outplayed. Unfortunately it’s always going to happen in PvP. My best advice is bring DS and pray.
-
@sadghost said:
Not sure what all of that was about because omg wall of text but Hook Bombing is the same as Face Camping
I would love to know the thinking behind hook diving which allows you to just chase the survivor that unhooked and punish them and continue the game even faster is the same as camping a survivor so they get no points and have no fun is considered the same.

It was a rhetorical question and you wrote an essay.
You don't need to teach me how to track survivors lol I have played this game for years. Look at my post history. I know my stuff. The 'situational' situation to use lucky break + iron will on the ptb is to take a hit and break los. How the hell are you hearing footsteps when the survivor has sprinted away not leaving any trail. Footsteps are well out of range. That's not very situational I mean just watch some current ptb clips. Good survivors against good killer it's a nutty perk combination. I just found out they're already nerfing it. I rest my case.
Oh and good luck getting your PhD in philosophy. You and Mr. Moundshroud make a force to be reckoned with it seems. ahahaha
Phrase of the day is: "You're objectively wrong." Not just wrong. Objectively wrong.
Damn I sound like an authoritarian.
My hero. Also yeah, just troll this guy because he thinks writing forum posts like he just took his first honors English course somehow makes his opinion better than anybody else’s. I find it funny that somebody would take these forums that seriously.
-
As somebody who plays in a SWF from time to time unless they’re true sweat lords, they’re probably talking about random stuff throughout the match. When I play with my friends I’m not shouting out what the killer is doing and what gens we should pop and how to coordinate a flashlight save, I’m just kinda auto-piloting the video game while I catch up with friends and shoot the [BAD WORD].
-
I hate to be that person but PC best. These console companies know if you ever want to see the pearly gates of online gaming you’ll pay a premium for it. Since they have a monopoly on your console they can charge whatever they want to play the games you paid for. I completely left console gaming for this reason alone, it’s pricey but hell saves money in the long run.

How though? How do you track a survivor that has no scratch marks, no blood and no grunts. Stridor spirit maybe and a good prediction on nurse. Have you seen the gameplay on the PTB?
This isn't your thread and you've argued against everybody in this thread aha.
You say you rarely argue for survivor because you main killer. That's all well and good but look how quickly you dismissed what I said about Fixated. Hell you didn't even address it. You just repeated yourself.
The OP's question was is DS still meta. I'm saying no because it's weaker than these perks I aformentioned when it used to be up the top.
This guy just wants to argue with people and insist he is correct. I promise you, people this dense aren’t worth your time. But I did have a good laugh at his attempts LMAO.

It's mainly an issue getting Microsoft and Sony to hand over and share all of the account info for Dead by Daylight. That's my own understanding is that the devs have shown they know how to do it as cross progression between Stadia and Steam is already a thing. They're just waiting on Sony and Microsoft to work with them to allow this information to sync for the game.

Earlier today I got called a meta survivor for using
It's because you obviously have no idea what you're talking about. I was asking about DS, not lithe.Ok if I don't know what I am talking about, then reply to what I said and give a valid counter argument instead of a red herring.
More so, Regardless of what you directly asked, they're was a claim by a opposing party (IE: someone called you "Meta Survivor" according to you), and thus is justified as you are using some of the best perks in the game in different categories.
With that said, I don't think using any meta is wrong either though. So the fact that you got so butt hurt about it, you decided to post what someone did and made a post just so people can agree with your line of thinking is beyond me. This is of course an assumption, one I would reckon entirely valid considering when I answered the question your hostile reply.
You're the only one implying anybody thinks less of me, may I remind you that this is a video game we're talking about, it's not that deep.Clearly I was talking about
"Earlier today I got called a meta survivor for using".I would give a serious reply but it is obvious that YOU are the one who is bothered by my post. If I truly cared I'd go to the DBD survivor side of tik tok and get everyone to say how DS should be reverted to old DS and so on. I asked the forum a question, you answered something that sounded like a jebait because nearly nobody in this community would define lithe as meta. Sorry you can't see that. You sound extremely entitled in the way you speak, thinking that your opinion is superior so I decided to mess with you. Nothing more, nothing less, but I promise you that if I was butt-hurt over something in a video game like DBD I would visit a therapist, not the DBD forums.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/248511/can-ds-even-still-be-considered-meta
It goes without saying that old DS was simply unhealthy for the game. It was a pure minute of invincibility from being hooked no matter what you did. There is not a doubt in my mind or anybody else's (hopefully) that old DS was the most meta perk in the game.Right.
Earlier today I got called a meta survivor for using DS and I was running it with WGLF, we'll make it, and lithe. I could see being called a meta survivor if I had dead hard, iron will, DS, and unbreakable but that's just not the case. Even in solo queue I don't run builds like that. All the perks you just listed are considered meta. These are all perks that every survivor runs as well.
- Lithe
This is literally a clutch/exhausted perk, perks so strong they have a game mechanic to limit them. Are you serious, or just trolling when you think this is not meta?
- WGLF
This is again, the strongest BP perk for Survivors man. It also allows you to get cheeky heals that aren't always possible on downed survivors due to 100% increase healing rate on them. Of course this is meta as well. (0_0)
- We'll Make It
This did take a hit after Borrowed Time's buff but it is still meta.
Before this perk was arguable better then Borrowed time, as it allowed near instant heals off hook, and could be used in great effect with other perks and medikits, top that with the fact unlike old borrowed time it always would proc then you have a serious contender. Now, all of the but the last part applies as now Borrowed time instantly procs as well. So now the two are pretty even as they're both will be better or worse then the other situationally.
At the end of the day can DS even be considered meta anymore? In my eyes it is 60 seconds of stun protection granted that you're legitimately being tunneled by the killer. If not wanting to have a match where you get insta tunneled out and have no fun is meta, than I take no shame in being a meta survivor while running we'll make it and lithe.Of course it is still meta, in fact I love being tunneled because that means you are the only one playing the game while everyone else is sitting they're playing loading bar simulator on a gen. In fact, DS will be outright game changing in alot of situations. DS is a Cluch perk as well.
For reference, all gens can be done in less then 3 minutes, and all gens normally are done in roughly 5 - 10 depending on how good the survivors are and the killer. This is of course not accounting for the time survivors running too the gens, and also is assuming the survivors aren't doing dumb things and wasting time IE: healing when they're is no need too (Sorta redundant as you are talking about tunneling so I would assume no one is getting hit often), failing skill checks, ect.
So it basically allow you to take the killer on 4 chases instead of one, if all chases last 1 minute then you got that grace period out of DS. If you ever made a mistake instead of being punished for it, you will be released and gain a extra life via DS. The gens will be done very quickly so while you may die, you still won the game really.
stop jebaiting us saying lithe is meta compared to dead hard or sprint burst☠️☠️☠️ Bye

@deckyr said:
DS is only as meta as tunneling. as long as tunneling is strong, so is DS and BT.
I will agree that as long as tunneling is seen as a strategy then DS is meta but personally I see tunneling as an liability rather than an asset against SWF’s.

This is the change they actually needed.
Now revert the ridiculous nerf they did on Victor pounces and give Charlotte Undetectable while Victor is being held.
This would fix her two issues which are camping and taking Victor hostage.
I’m absolutely in favor of those changes. Using the twins ability to be in two places at once should come with unpredictability which helps you surprise survivor. I would take the twins being hard to pin down over a camp mechanic any day.

You're acting like Victor's slugging potential wasn't given a bigger counter, and that Victor and Charlotte both have the same capabilities.
"Hag shouldn't be able to trap under the hook"
"unfun"
...
Slugging is not equal to camping. They literally said when they announced the killer they were going to implement an anti-camp mechanic. Placing victor under the hook beforehand is just a loophole as you can't do that after hooking the survivor so yeah.... it is unintended and unfun. Don't know where you're confused bestie.
-
@Laluzi said:
Can't the rescuer just kick Victor before unhooking? I'm not saying camping isn't a serious problem with the Twins, but I've had more of an issue with the Twins plonking Charlotte down next to a hook and then using Victor to go harass some other part of the map, not the other way around.
Victor's Killer Instinct can sense survivors around him not crouching for 16 or 20 meters (I forget which). So a survivor would have to take an absurd amount of time to crouch and kick him before unhooking. Against solo queue survivors this would be near impossible to communicate even with kindred as victor is not shown. I agree that both strategies are problematic but at least charlotte has no idea if somebody is approaching.

unfortunately a change like this would gut the twins into worthlessness, they're only decent when these tactics are employed
I don't believe this to be true. Sure against a really optimal swf the twins will hurt be so will any other killer besides nurse or spirit. Not every killer needs to be comp material as most matches are either swfs that don't play very efficiently or solo queue players with no communication whatsoever. Victor's ability to slug a team of injured survivors quickly and allow the player to be two places at once is incredibly strong.
There is no reason that a decent twins player should have to camp unless they just simply aren't good at using the twins ability to create map pressure without camping. Just like hag shouldn't be able to trap right under hook, because a good hag doesn't need to and it's an unfun mechanic.
-
Twins are nerf'd btw and definitely aren't just used to camp.
-
I don't think people necessarily hated his addons, they were just excruciatingly boring to go against when paired with tinkerer/pop/ruin. In solo queue especially it just seemed to make the match last forever and shockingly enough holding M1 on a generator the entire match isn't very exciting.
-
I just want a mori where she crushes my head with her thighs thank you.
