Just because the new coldwind maps are lit by daylight I don't think that makes them less horrifying. Many great horror films capitalize on the daylight hours, especially in relation to farms and the grotesque nature of dead animals like on rancid abattoir. I personally think that daylight doesn't equate to not scary but that's just a personal thought I guess.
-
I personally didn't notice much a difference but I also place snares while I'm standing in the pallet so I don't actually have to move until I chase the survivor around making the slowdown not very impactful. I agree that his addons are a bit lackluster now but nobody enjoyed the fact that a killer who could teleport to gens at will had slowdown in his base kit often times paired with tinkerer/pop/ruin. I definitely would like to see his addons made to be more useful than just stridor but personally I don't notice much of a slowdown with him.

OoO users will still get tunneled into oblivion.
I hope this isn't the case. I only seemed to have one killer since the update who was displeased I was using it but besides that I've been treated no differently than if I didn't run it. It definitely still comes with danger if you're the obsession but it seems like most killers don't mind it as much.

Didn't notice it really as Killer except that I see a Survivors Aura sometimes.
But as Survivor I kinda like the Perk, especially as the Obsession. Seeing eachother every 30 seconds is neat and the "no u" everytime my Aura is revealed is also neat.
It's gone from a broken and unfair Perk which made easy SWF games easier to a pretty neat and healthy Perk.
Me too! Even if you aren't the obsession it's a great way to see where the killer is going with BBQ or if they have nurses it's nice to know when you should bail or commit to a heal. I hope the killers all don't mind it.
-
I want Lady Dimitriscu and her mori is just sitting on you. No but for real the sickle on the tweet they posted does seem to be related to one of her daughter’s so possibly she is the new killer?
-
I wish they would even just give us some unsafe pallets like the ones on Ormond rather than leave us with complete dead zones. Even as killer I’ve noticed most survivors are just resorting to the hold W strat which is boring for both sides. I would rather mindgame somebody at a pallet than hold W because the survivor has nothing to work with.
-
Sensitivity settings and overall movement is always going to be better on M&K. I am easily able to 360 console killers at least once a match for the most part but PC killers have a much easier time flicking their camera to avoid getting spun.
-
I agree that stridor addons were not the best idea but I'm assuming the devs heard a lot of people complaining about iron will and decided to give it a counter. I'm a nurse main so trust me when I say I'm no stranger to useless addons. At least he didn't get an add on that just makes survivors scream for no reason.
-
I'm no Huntress main but I definitely enjoy playing her. The most exciting of her addons to be is the 4.6 movement speed when out of hatchets. Sometimes lockers are so incredibly far away that you just straight up have to leave a chase in order to get more. The hatchet movement speed add ons also seem fun and remind me a little of machine gun huntress with old tinkerer.
-
I agree with the hag mechanic, but they would have to come up with a different way of dealing with her traps. She shouldn't have no counter to them as everyone knows that a good hag will consistently mess up most survivors.
Lightburn is fine on nurse because any nurse worth their marbles will just face the other way and flick right on top of any survivor trying to lightburn them. On Wraith it definitely can be annoying and maybe should be looked at but it honestly drains so much of a flashlight unless you have a full flashlight squad it isn't a huge issue.
-
Tinkerer is good but can also teach bad habits. Leaving chase to go to a gen across the map can often times where there is likely a full health survivor can often times screw you over. It's still a good perk though and synergizes well with ruin and pop. Enduring is my absolute favorite chase perk and when pallets are fixed will be amazing once again. Lightborn is more of a meme perk or a spite perk to people who want flashlight saves or are intent on blinding you at every pallet, but it's not really worth a perk slot in my opinion.
-
Demo simply because he is nowhere close to human. The rest of the killer's I could see as somebody in full get-up on the NYC subway or something.
-
DS isn't really even an anti-tunnel perk, a five second stun won't magically make a killer who wants you out of the match stop chasing you. It's a slightly prolonged head-on stun, people don't use it anymore because they never used it not to be tunneled in the first place. It was a strong perk but never an anti-tunnel perk. I'm not upset at it's nerf because it was over-powered but there needs to be a legitimate anti-tunnel mechanic in the game because it is frustrating especially to players in solo queue. A SWF will destroy a tunneling killer and just pump generators, a solo queue team will unhook the person without taking aggro and just let them get tunneled out of the match without getting any points.
-
People can say what they want about the coders of the game that have led to some game-breaking bugs but the design team has been killing it recently. With the updated survivors (especially jake) and the map reworks everything looks so nice. It's kind of sad to see the game get newer but also really exciting to see they still care about it.
-
This is actually a great way to deal with the breakdown bug lmao.
-
Maybe I'm failing to see the point of this post but is camping... fun? I don't know about everybody else but when I open up the game and play killer sitting by a hook for two minutes isn't very exciting. I would rather pressure people on gens, get into chase, and spread pressure across the map than sit at hook with my Claudette-faced Bubba for two minutes. If winning is more important than having fun when playing a PvP game then you might have a problem that goes beyond survivor complaints about your play style.
-
Felix or Elodie just because their wealth and connections could get you on a private jet to anywhere at a moment's notice. For long-term friendship I would say Quentin or Claudette because they seem nice.
-
I agree with TicTac, Alert is a super underrated aura perk. In chase it is invaluable and out of chase it is always nice to keep and eye on what the killer is doing without the just getting tunneled out of the game for running OoO.
Empathy is also super underrated, but also super infuriating to see one of your solo queue teammates self-caring in a corner because they don't realize you can still do objectives while injured.
-
It is actually miserable as killer. I think it is actually faster just to get stunned with enduring and break the pallet than it is to swing through it and not get stunned. Enduring cancels the m1 animation but obviously with no stun you have to sit there and finish the m1 animation before you can break it. It's definitely worse on the survivor side especially since they literally just released a perk that requires you to get a stun for it to even work. On top of that a stun is 1,000 bloodpoints that are nearly impossible to get right now. It's awful for killers who use enduring and worse for survivors that just want the stun.
-
Aesthetically Midwich looks nice but can be a nightmare to navigate for killer and survivor alike. As a 4.4 killer it can be downright miserable to play against survivors who just hold w down the halls.
Haddonfield is absolutely miserable for killer because of the amount of interiors to navigate and the constant w key strat around fences and buildings just makes chases so boring. Dealing with a survivor who knows how to play Haddonfield well can be almost impossible to cope with especially if they know how to run strode house or the house of pain. It's a fantastic map for survivor because there are many places to hide and even a mediocre survivor can find their way to one of the many pallets on the map.
-
Jake looks so good, I hope they make some small tweaks to Meg and Dwight.
-
It’s to his own benefit as it makes him hard to pin down, especially in maps with lots of line of sight blockers. With object getting nerf’d honestly oblivious will strictly be for his own advantage now. Although it’s not every match you see object anyway and it has countered borrowed time for a very long time which it really shouldn’t have.

This post is correct

People who say that this is the most toxic community they’ve seen shocks me. As somebody who has been playing COD online since 2012 I can tell you right now, DBD is a dream compared to a lot of other communities.
Fun is going to be what you make of the game, if you aren’t having a good time take a break. Find a SWF to play with online if you can’t stand solo queue. There are ways to have fun however you see fit.

I would highly recommend SupaAlf's nurse guide on Youtube, he has 6k hours and a lot of good advice for newer nurse players.
Overall my best quick tips are don't predict too often unless you are 100% sure you have an accurate read on that survivor in chase. Do not use add ons that affect your muscle memory such as range until you feel comfortable with her base kit (blink recovery is fine). Lastly, don't blink at every opportunity, it's okay to just follow the survivor for a few seconds until you have them in a better position and see how they react.
Watching good nurse players on Twitch or Youtube will give you some good tips and tricks that you can apply in your own matches. Remember that you will get bullied in the beginning but going against really cracked survivors will only teach you how to counter them as time goes on, baby survivors will teach you bad habits as a nurse and make you think every survivor just holds W. Practice makes perfect and use your resources to help.

Launch trailer Meg, Claudette, and Jake for Iridescent Shards.
I love this idea, it's crazy to see how different some of the original cast would've looked if they kept the design.
-
I personally love the new character models they just seem a bit too pristine. As a dwight simp I wish they wouldn't have softened his jawline as it kinda removes from his derpy handsome look to a degree. Also, he is missing his puppy dog eyes that every killer, at one point or another, have convinced them to give poor dweet the hatch.
-
I would say acquiring an IP (intellectual property) title this big would be up to if Behavior thinks it's worth the investment. The walking dead is bigger than Silent Hill or Resident Evil and would be quite an expensive title. Ultimately Behavior would have to spend time into researching how many new players a title like this would bring in, if that number of new players is worth the price of the IP, and if the owners of that IP would be willing to settle on a set of rules Behavior is comfortable with. The profit margins could be too small or the demands of those who own the IP could be too steep. Overall not impossible but I personally think it is unlikely.

Since they updated the blind timing for the 124th time to get a save I've started the blind when the survivor being picked up is about a quarter of the way up the killer's torso. It seems to work for me but ping, flashlight quality, and killer's reaction time will always skew the effectiveness.
It just takes practice but that's my tip for the current flashlight timing. Other than that if I want the most bang for my buck I take a green flashlight with the purple lens and green battery.
-
I forgot to put the survivor(s) I always see acting particularly toxic.
Neas: After the reign of noob3 some people think they are his protégé and take a purple beamer and either one of the multiple 'toxic nea' outfits and purposefully try to make you angry. Most of them don't really have the skill to back up the BM's so it's mostly just funny.
Cheryls: Mainly the cheryls who glitch her legendary sets. They always seem to be the most cocky and honestly a lot of the times they're pretty decent.
Ace: Oh my god whenever I see an ace who's in anything else than his base cosmetic I always know that they're going to be obnoxious, at least in my own experience.
-
I will say that it is in your best interest not to watch a TTV player you're going up against. A lot of them are just outwardly abrasive for no reason and projecting their own frustrations with the game onto the other side. They just want to take a piss on the other side for even bothering to log onto the game but I've found that TTV players with viewers tend to act more reasonable since they have an audience.
The best TTV players are the ones that either run solo queue and talk to their chat or just talk to their friends they're playing with about other things rather than the game. People who play public matches to sweat are prone to spewing words out of their mouth because they get outplayed or otherwise have the game not go in their favor.
-
Jeff, honestly most times I completely forget that there’s a Jeff in my match. One time I put the third survivor on death hook and closed the hatch expecting the end game screen to flash and I was so confused until I realized there was still a Jeff alive.
-
Honestly I would like to see the addition of bots like in DBD mobile when somebody suicides on first hook or DC’s. Although they obviously have their flaws bots can be a way to make the game not a complete 3v1 when somebody kills themselves at 4/5 gens left. After all, a bot can sit on a generator unlike some human teammates.
They obviously have the coding for it available so I hope they implement this to help aid the extremely unfair advantage a killer has when a survivor leaves the match prematurely.
-
Honestly whenever I see flashlights in a lobby I am relieved, toolboxes and medkits are much scarier. If you’re worried I would just bring infectious fright and you will always know who is nearby. Survivors that are desperate for a blind aren’t on gens or doing totems, honestly they might as well be on your side since they’re not concerned about furthering their own objectives.
Overall just try to keep aware of your surroundings and listen for footsteps behind you during chase and swing your camera every once in awhile to see if a would-be flashlighter is ready to get the save.

I have Pig as my picture as on my xbox. If they could see that in lobby there would be even more SC and SB than there already is in my lobbies. Just my opinion though. I am also 100% fine with not seeing the survivors names either.
I agree with this, personally some of my biggest jump scares are when I hear that swoosh of a piggy coming out of crouch behind me. I would feel wrong knowing this before the match starts. Also much respect for maining piggy, she is a doll.

I think not knowing who or what the killer is adds fun to the game. The suspense is part of the drama.
Thus my answer of "no" to seeing the killer is not based on mechanics but on gameplay fun.
Nothing like a tier one myers jump scaring you as he peeks behind a door on Hawkins.

Nah, would make dodging a huge problem. But I also think survivor names shouldn't be shown either, not to the killer nor to the fellow teammates.
I agree, maybe in post-game you could show it but I feel like it promotes to killers being a bit too worried about the hours or possibility of SWF. Although I will say in the rare case I see a survivor with legacy I ALWAYS check their profile to see if they have the hours to match just to make sure they’re not hacking.

But to add onto this, you can learn a lot from a killers name, especially if they are a streamer. Sure killers can do the same but that isn't nearly as much of an impact. Having survivors know your kit going into a game drastically effects a game, especially if you know a player that exclusively plays a particular killer
Absolutely, I totally agree

The reason people hate going against him is the same reason it’s miserable to go against a good nurse, if they’re super good at the killer it doesn’t matter what your skill level is they’re going to hit you. You just have to hope your exhaustion perk gives you enough time for your teammates to get a gen done and that’s just not a very fun or interactive chase mechanic.
nobody wants to get quick scoped by a stealth killer with a gun
-
I bought hag, ace, and Elodie with shards. The rest I’ve either bought the full dlc or the character with auric cells.
-
Personally I won’t DC when I play killer and see these offerings but I won’t hesitate to play scummy if I see a squad bring haddonfield and they all just so happen to have balanced landing. As survivor I honestly don’t blame killers for dc’ing when someone brings the offering but personally I don’t really care. Usually if somebody brings a haddonfield offering it’s because they’re compensating for something and I actually think coldwind is fine.
-
As EvilJoshy said, statistics is really all they have and if they just listened to people in the community saying “KILL NOED” or “NO MORE SWF” then this game would be awful. Their job is to analyze the data of highest kill count per killer among the different ranks.
Freddy dominated every rank simply because his power offered a lot of reward with little risk. There was no punishment for misusing his power such as spamming blood pools everywhere or constantly teleporting to gens. Since Freddy is so easy to use, they decided to add a slight penalty to his blood pools which is honestly negligible as I personally noticed in the PTB, they're still great.
Freddy never needed swing chains and jump rope anyway, if you ran these with thana and pop it made the match last forever hence the name forever Freddy. These add ons basically are extra gen slowdown overriding a perk slot, and made for unfun gameplay for survivors. I’m not a fan of his new add ons, I definitely think they should’ve went a different direction but Freddy has an ability to teleport to gens, he doesn’t need built-in slowdown.
Overall I’m sure they listened to the community, it’s obvious people complained about his add ons so they changed them. People complained about how uncounterable victor can be against a decent twins player, so they tweaked him. They do listen to the community they just can’t take into consideration of every person because in reality some people have absolutely ridiculous opinions that, if implemented into the game, would be horrible.
-
This game has way to much RNG and factors to be able to properly create NPC’s in my own opinion. After playing mobile for a short period of time the bots on there that took over after a player DC’d were... not great. I guess having the option would be nice just to practice looping but a bot is going to behave a lot differently than a player.
-
With no D Strike that just sounds like an EZ way to get tunneled out of the match. If I ever decide to meme and do an immersed claudette build I never bring an item of any kind, can't blend as well.
-
Survivor, and I would simp over Felix all match and never do a single thing.
-
It depends on the killer really. Most of the time I enjoy it as it makes the match more interesting and changes playstyle. Luckily I run sprint burst most of the time so it at least gives me a chance to make distance. I just don't greed pallets or loops as much as I usually do so I can at least buy time for my teammates to find totems. Whenever I run detectives hunch I just smile and know it's only a matter of time before I get it anyway.

Survivor:
Buckle Up & Baby Sitter- They're literally useless
Dead Hard- I personally hate seeing dead hard when I play killer so to not be a hypocrite I refuse to use this perk.
Killer-
NOED- It's an endgame perk that basically is saying I am not good enough to prevent gens from getting done. Just like dead hard, it's a perk I hate seeing on the other side so I just refuse to use it as to not be a hypocrite.
Blood Favor- This perk seems so good in theory but in execution never gets any value and always gets cleansed without any reward while it was active.
