  • Having Enduring not apply to the reworked DS didn't make any sense. More importantly, devs shouldn't balance the game around some eccentric desire not to run a certain perk. If you're that afraid of something as pathetically niche as 2.6 DS, now you can run Enduring.

As if most Survivors are even going to bother with DS now that MoM is here.

  • The perk is still garbage.

And Its even affected by Enduring again, making it even worse against what is still a solid B-tier Killer perk. Such heated outrage over nothings like this is why BHVR is wise to take the feedback from the community so gingerly.

  • (You could have at least posted a version of the old perk...)

True, but if it was an indeed accidental leak, they may have just accidentally hit the survivor tabs for live and not the killer ones.

Although I would LOVE the cabin or the castle from AoD.

Which isn't as crazy at it sounds considering that a few of the Survivor perks were glitched in that patch.

  • @Revenge said:

They need to fire half the skin team and add more bug fix members

Well that would be silly when the cosmetic team no doubt pays for itself.

And who says we don't need more skins? Until the Aces and Adams have as much as Meg or Claudette, more isn't hurting anyone.

  • "Don't even think about balancing the second chance perks of survivors"

In the same patch DS got gutted, this guy with the jokes.

  • It's a sensitive issue. They probably can't confirm the content early thanks to whatever licensing deal was worked out, and they can't deny that it's real either because, well, it is. "No comment" combined with patching it out at some point (but remember, console patches take time) is probably the only way to handle it.

  • ...If you thought everyone at BHVR somehow missed the 50000 threads and discussions about the leaks all across the Internet, what makes you think they would see this thread?

  • @RuneStarr said:

Remember that even if it's in KYF right now, it's probably not supposed to be.

It'll likely go through a bunch of balancing, possibly a PTB and still be awhile away.

No need to grab your pitchforks over something accidentally put there when it's very possible to get changed/tweaked a bunch before official release.

Unless this was all a ploy to build hype with "whoops. Um plz ignore this huge thing that's super hype building" and is a suprise quick release. Which I highly doubt.

There's no reason to grab a pitchfork regardless of what happens.

Honestly, if you're so far gone that you think everything the devs do shows their shameful favoritism for one side or the other, you should take a break.

By meta you mean "brokenly overpowered to the point it's overused and can change the game" like DS?

There are 4 survivors. Hence why their perks should be weaker. When DS stacked 4 times it broke the game. Same for instaheals, same for everything survivors have.

Well, are you the type of person who thinks meta = brokenly overpowered? I'm not.

  • We've have six straight Survivors in a row where the best perks among them top out as 'decent' or 'niche' and maybe just 'good' if you really stretch the definition of 'good'. And now we get the first sniff of one that could be meta? Threads like this, wew.

  • Someone's gettin' fired.

  • Wendy's.

But between those two, BK easily.

  • @Ihatelife said:

Ehhh..there is nothing wrong with the characters. Only with people.

Yeah, I'm a firm believer that more or less all the survivors are equally incompetent. The only reason certain characters are seen as especially stupid is because they're played more and so you see them do stupid things more often.

  • Wow, I have so many of these, yet right now I can't think of them any off them top of my head.

  • The combo of Thanatophobia and Sloppy Butcher on PTB is absurdly powerful. You all know full well it had no business being implemented. No one should have even expected to go through, come on guys.

  • I don't agree with the "out of place" argument. If the chapter was done well, it could easily fit into the game's atmosphere, which is already very expansive.

DBD already embraces a lot of different horror tropes, I don't see how Sci-Fi horror and Alien would be too jarring a step. In fact, it would be a very great way to keep the game feeling fresh and take it to new places. It could truly be something special.

  • Except for Feng and maybe Ace, all of the survivors speak English.

  • It's not that surprising for the Wraith actually, considering he didn't even have a visible bell at the time his lobby poses were done.

    @fcc2014

    New Killer: THE DIRECTOR

    Movenent speed 115%

    Weapon: The Ban Hammer

    Power: "Mathieu's Magic"

While holding the right mouse button (or the console equivalent) Mathieu can channel "Mathieu's Magic" which makes all survivors more likely to encounter bugs long thought dead while also increasing the frequency and difficulty of skillchecks for a duration.

Additionally, if a survivor is sacrificed or mori'd by THE DIRECTOR their Dead by Daylight account receives a temporary ban of 1 year. If they DC in a match against THE DIRECTOR they are permanently banned.

    The killer's unique perks are:

    Play Something Else:

Each successful attack decreases survivor movement by 0.5%, 1%, 2%. This effect cannot stack past 5 successful attacks on any given survivor.

    Civilization:

Each generator repaired increases the total number of charges required to repair other generators by 10%/15%/20%

HEX: Pretty Good Job So Far

For each generator repaired the hook sacrifice timer is reduced by 1/5/10 seconds.

9/10, -1 point for spelling 'Director' correctly every time though.

  • IDK about Jake, but Adam and Jeff are both Gary Stus. You could say this is a problem with the newer survivors in general since Jane and Kate are a little too perfect as well, but at least they both bring something interesting to the table to make them stick out. But there's not really anything that makes the guys interesting.

  • Only for quick BPs during PTBs.

  • Did you really need to repost the exact same thread you made yesterday?

  • @makayla said:

Kate looks like she lives in the middle of Georgia with her three children aged 12, 9, and 7 and her only job is a gas station job that she doesn't care about and she's had the same car since she was 19 (it's a 1995 Toyota Camry) and it reeks of cigarettes and a hint of meth.

She's also missing two teeth and the rest are dark yellow.

Also feeds her children literally nothing but fast food. They're all overweight.

Kate and Ace got screwed on these, yikes.

Meanwhile, best girls Meg and Claudette get the good stuff, as usual.

  • This is probably my biggest peeve after playing a few rounds. The screen impairment from The Plague's power is just obnoxious.

  • @Asssthetic said:

Im guessing she vomits on them first and then beats them up with her weapon

So close! Just the other way around.

  • This is exactly the reason they test these things before implementing them in the live versions. Odds are they'll tweak this yet again, and give us something harder than the joke we have now and something less demanding than the PTB.

  • Literally the entirety of the killer's game is dictated by other players.

  • It is annoying not knowing when exactly the 'save' occurs. But until they give us more warning one thing you can do is stock up BPs as soon as you know a PTB is imminent. I've been staying at 850k and above for over a week now just to be safe.

  • @Hoodied said:

    It is for balance issues

Ruin is useless atm and ptb is fixing that issue, SO FINALLY NOT EASY GEN RUSH

Suuuuure. The majority of killers are running it because it's "useless".

  • @SnakeSound222 said:

There's some pretty interesting changes here. I don't think I like the ranking changes though. Why should it be harder to reach the red ranks if there's no good incentive to do so? They shouldn't be added to the game until there is a good reason to reach the red ranks.

Because supposed "high ranks" are full of awful players who should be playing with other less skilled players.

Also, it's the other way around: You shouldn't give out a reward for something that isn't worth rewarding. Until reaching R1 is a challenge there shouldn't be an incentive to do it, because plenty people will hit it anyway whether they're trying to or not.

  • At least ranking up will be harder. I don't mind making R1 a challenge again (if it ever was) before we hand out rewards for reaching it.

  • Patch notes are out too, thankfully. Lots of good changes, though I don't know why they had to re-adjust Empathy.

Most importantly, the enigmatic snowboarding bug is finally fixed. This goes to show me how little I play the male characters in this game. I never noticed that bug only happened to the females.

  • @Acromio said:

Fun fact: 99.9% of the legacy skins you see in-game are hacked. Only a small number of players obtained them, and pretty much all of those players lost them due to a bug introduced around 1.4.x that caused complete loss of progress.

    Not even close.

A lot of them were lost, but it was far from 'most' or even a majority. The reasons why not many of them are around is that the players who earned them no longer play the game. And of course, players don't like using them. It's very easy to tell when the Legacy isn't legit, after all.

  • Some of the Fog Whispers and other DBD personalities were invited to DBD HQs this week. They've all been sort of evasive about the whole thing, but I'd be surprised if at least part of the experience wasn't having them play the new chapter.

It could just be that. Or that and something more. Or something completely different. Who knows. But odds are they're going to be doing at least something related to this upcoming chapter, and I imagine we'll find out what that is before we get the PTB.

  • I'm still betting Wednesday. The FW thing is tomorrow, right? So we watch the streamer personalities play it, and then we get to test it soon after. Just like old times.

  • I think HO is an activated ability in the same vein as Dead Hard, so you couldn't even trigger it and SB at the same time.

  • @Dwight_Confusion said:

Saying someone is "thicc" is stupid.

It's offensive to some people and it's just very millennial.

I'm not saying its offensive but I'm so sick of 1000 people thinking they're funny by repeating that word every time anyone in a game has a butt.

  • The positive vibe is continuing because no one has played with the content yet.

A lot of people were excited for Chapter 10, especially after the map teased a snow realm.

  • Upcoming cosmetics are generally visible in the game files whenever there's a PTB. IIRC, the new cosmetics aren't available in-game until the actual release. Previous survivors have had their alternates available (which for Jeff and Adam were just really underwhelming and subtle differences from their defaults), but not their upcoming store cosmetics. I might be wrong about that, though. I don't use the store all that much.

  • You're actually the second person to see "stun", ignore everything else about the perks, and conclude Head On is even remotely in the same tier as DS.

    It's not.

  • To be honest, I don't think I'm going to play her. I have about ~16000 shards and I was planning on using some to get her, but I'm a bit underwhelmed. I think I'll just get Adam instead and save up the rest for something else.

  • The killer's power definitely seems like it has BM potential.

  • @Gorgonia said:

Really? It didn’t even come out and you’re already complaining? I’m starting to think a lot of you want the game to be easy for whatever side you play instead of playable for both.

Then you're on the right track...

  • @The_Crusader said:

I really can't see this becoming meta. I wouldn't worry.

As it is, many Nurses slug if they another Survivor trying to hide when they down somebody. This makes that strategy far more deadly. I definitely think it has potential to become a standard Nurse perk.

  • @Blueberry said:

She seemed so random and has nothing to do with the chapter at all. It was a stretch imo. Should've been another person from that actual time period that actually had anything whatsoever to do with the lore.

An ancient (or however old the Plague is) survivor would have been really great. It's strange how they keep alternating between Survivors with clear connections to the killer or the realm (Jeff visiting Ormond, Adam being in Japan) but then we get characters like Jane, Kate, and David with no discernible relationship to the lore at all.

  • And so it begins, the eternal "Survivor Perks are OP" "Killer Perks OP" back and forth.

The Survivor perks are all hot trash this time around. 0 of them will be used in the meta and anyone who says otherwise probably doesn't understand why the current top Survivor perks are the most popular.

The only times in the last two years the Survivor perks have actually been better than the killers were with Jeff and David. Adam's perks were meme-tier, with only Deliverance seeing any use. And yet people still prematurely complained loud enough that Autodidact got nerfed into further uselessness.

Kate's perks are all still underpowered and boring, Tapp's are niche and newbie-oriented, Quentin's have only gotten worse since his release, and Feng is the one recent character with decent ones. But the Doctor had perfectly fine ones too, making them rather even.

If you can't see how great the first two killer's perks are going to be in the hands of certain killers, you need more imagination.

  • I'll have to see it live before knowing for sure. I don't mind them reusing realms, because having so many realms with only one map gets really annoying. Ideally I wish they'd provide free map updates more often, but this is the next best thing.

But I'm not sure how this particular combo makes any sense.

  • The Killer's perks are fine. Killers have been asking for a generic way to remove their terror radius for ages and now they have one. How on earth is a Tinkerer you control worse than one than the one that depends on Survivor's actions?

The scream perk works great with the mobile killers who can afford to leave people on the ground and potentially injure or down the people waiting for a save or trying to be immersed.

The only bad one is the gen blocker perk.
