It's not a nerf. It's a bug fix. Read Nurses Calling description.Except that they specifically went out of their way to make Snap Out of It a healing action for the purposes of a Nurse's Calling when they put the Doctor Cube together.
This is true.
(Not that it even made sense even back then but...) -

Survivor gets their first hook when everyone else is dead. They get NO chance to get off the hook or use deliverance. This HAS to change ASAP.Back in the day, survivors held the game hostage for 2½ minutes straight by not giving up on the hook despite there being no way for them to win. Just to loath the killer. That's why the last survivor dies instantly now.
Survivors and their [BAD WORD] toxicity issues.
"Toxicity" had nothing to do with it. Points are points, and back then 600 points was often the difference between depipping and not depipping, between between pipping and not pipping.
-
Give them some survival points for being the last one standing to compensate for the lost Struggle points, sure, but there's no reason to give them a chance to escape. Any competent killer (i.e any not named Frederick) would just down the Survivor again immediately.
-
Eh, I still prefer my own idea of having hex totems always appear dull until a Survivor interacts with them.
Having them last at least 'x' amount of time really only makes sense for Ruin. Ruin does its 'job' if at lasts at least 'x' amount of time. But it doesn't make all that much of a difference for something like DH, which needs to stay up as long as possible. Sure, it would help all of the other perks, but not all that much. -

I like the gimmick, actually. Unlike the complex and far-out killers we've gotten lately, the Legion is more normal and down-to-earth. I don't think there's anything wrong with that. To make up for the less grandiose concept, there's at least more customization than any of the other killers so far. It's a bit unfair to call the skins a mere cash grab when A. We don't know that Joey/Suzie will only be available from the shop, B. If they are, that's no worse than selling any other outfits for killers, C. The different personas would actually offer a bit more than other outfits because at least they'll probably have unique voices.
Overall, I'm very pleased with the killer's design. Four different killers on the map at the same time is a much better concept in theory than practice, four completely different killer abilities would be a waste of four concepts. -
I also enjoyed that the Survivor and Killer were directly related to the same area for the first time in a while. It makes a 'Chapter' feel much more cohesive when there are actual connections instead of random parts. What did David have to do with the Huntress and the Red Forest? This approach is definitely nicer.

When there are still three survivors running around when you hook someone with BBQ, you have bigger problems if you need an aura perk to find one of them.
You're also saying Distortion somehow perk encourages killers to emphasize stronger end-games, but if anything it's the opposite. BBQ always was and still is strongest towards the end, and if it's weaker for the first few hooks now, killers would need something else to make their earlier games stronger. If focusing everything at the end-game was better than a balanced build, they would be running a full end-game build now.
At any rate, if BBQ does become less popular, it will have nothing to do with a mediocre perk like Distortion and everything to do with the locker changes.@Malakir said:
Science_Guy said:You seem to be forgetting that Distortion only works a measly 3 times. Which means towards the end of the game, when finding survivors might actually be a challenge, it's useless.
True but what's the point of using sole survivor and dance with me if you have both in one perk? I prefer those 2 been buffed that have one perk that do the same job but using 1 slot
Well, Sole Survivor has never worth running and DWM still does need a buff. They really do have different niches though. DWM is supposed to help you break a chase, Distortion is supposed to help you avoid starting one by not being found. Incidentally, that is another reason why Distortion isn't worth it; good survivors shouldn't be too worried about getting found in the early-to-mid stages of a match.

Yeah he's very loud. The anti-Ace. He needs an inhaler.
-
Ugly Christmas Sweaters are coming as well.
-
The killer doesn't switch between genders or identities. The killer is literally 4 different people.
-
The new killer's UR addons for the curious:

-
In practice it's pretty funny right now. You and the killer can both jump across at the same time.
-
Distortion sounds much better than it really is, especially if 3 is the Level 3 value or the number doesn't change between perk levels. With how most aura-reading powers will be activated throughout the game, it won't be around when the user actually _needs _to keep their location hidden, the end.

His power really is interesting but his perks?
eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh.
The anti-bodyblocking one seems solid. I think the Locker perk might be ~okay~ with the Huntress. Though I really have to laugh at the idea of nerfing lockers. Maybe this will be something to teach those immersed newbies to stop hiding so darn much. As for Discordance, I don't think it's terrible... it even ignores the new survivor's aura-blocking perks.
-
Well yes, it does says that in the PTB announcement. Seems like this killer is a chaser. Or the killers are chasers? I still don't get how the multiple people thing is supposed to work.
Honestly, what surprises me most about the announcements so far is that we got another male survivor.
-
Well look at that, it's the Legion! We have a winner! Many winners! Congrats to everyone who guessed it on time!
I thought the Joe/Jules/Frank/Susie might be an anagram for something. But it seems like a reference to the killer(s) themselves. Interesting.

No, it isn't.

Oof.Okay Imma be real 100 wit ya, chief. I don't remember Spies From The Shadows ever being anything other than the worst Killer Perk in the game.
Whispers was bugged early on, and Crows were much more annoying in the beginning. It just took a while for the community to transition to the superior perk after Whispers was fixed and then Crows were nerfed.

But they clearly do have a writer now?
Just compare the broken and kind of silly lore we have for the original cast to what we have for Kate and The Clown. The difference is night and day. -
It's snow! I'm intrigued already!

I LOVE one of the screams Claudette makes when she gets downed. The wavy, melodic one that kind of goes "AAAaahhhhh."
But really, the Spirit should be everyone's #1. How is this even a debate? She's supposed to sound like a tortured soul, not a deranged duck.

I don't feel like defending an argument on the whole balance discussion, but I will say making it a base ability seems a bit unnecessary. Moris are supposed to be rare and special, both lore-wise and jas a mechanic. Being able to use them in any and every match would cut a lot of the impact out of them.

As a survivor I really like it, I hate the red ranks. As well you should.
The whole controversy over the reset is kind of silly given the current ranking system still doesn't mean rank is a good proxy for skill. I admit with the new reset changes, ranks are a bit harder to cheese, but there's still no reason to rank up and "Rank 1" capable players can easily stay in the 5-10 or 10-15 range as long as they want. You could definitely complain about the system itself, and the fact that there's so little incentive to want a higher rank... but with the system we do have, the reset isn't so bad.

I keep reading on this forum that
Personally after a long day I do not want to talk to others during a game.
I enjoy playing with others but I do not want to be forced to endure the random noises of background music, high pitched teenage boys, swearing and other offensive language of random people.I'm right there with you, OP. Couldn't agree more. Not having to put up with that kind of thing is one of the reasons I enjoy DBD compared to most other online MP games.
@Eight said:
Sorry, I don't want to talk to a load of kids online. If it ever becomes a requirement, I'm out of here.I'm not a huge fan of multiplayer online games in general. For some reason I got into DbD though.
And also this. We're in the same boat it seems; DBD is definitely unlike any of the other games I play. It's not an accident I've kept up with DBD but generally avoid the games that are more like it.

Teammates that flee from generators and hide at the first sign of a heartbeat. It's a dick move in one respect because if you , for instance, jump in a locker you're essentially telling your teammate take the heat instead of you... but more importantly is it too much to ask to have a little bit confidence? They act as if getting seen by the killer is an automatic death sentence. And I guess it is if you have no clue what you're doing. But otherwise...
-
Don't know if we have another thread for this, but this seems like the best place from the search results that came up...
Has anyone else seen it yet? I saw the very first showing at the theaters here and I definitely enjoyed it.

Getting randomly screwed over at the end of the game is a lame feeling. Previous obsession perks encouraged the killer to interact with the targeted survivor, but it was the killer's choice of how to play that determined what the experience would be like. The killer was free to tunnel you if they were running Dying Light, but it wasn't any easier for them to kill you. Conversely, if they were running Fire Up or STBFL there was an incentive not to kill you. If the player was punished for being the obsession, it wasn't because of the game itself. On the contrary the game gave the obsessed survivor bonuses when being the Obsession encouraged the killer to kill you faster (Remember Me, Dying Light).
This is the first perk to directly punish you for being the obsession. I would say it'd be better if the perk didn't make the killer have an obsession, so that it only punished those survivors who ran obsession perks i.e it punishes people who run DS. Then, at least, the obsessed survivor brought the pain on themselves and it makes sense to say they need to accept that making themselves the obsession has consequences.
he problem with that is the killer could nevertheless just run any other killer obsession perk and then the arbitrary 'lol get ****ed' element is still there even if there's some kind of tradeoff in limiting a killer's perk options. It's a problematic perk. -
This was indeed a really silly nerf. If you think relying on the mere chance of a quick boost to healing rather is better than the flat rapid increase of WMI, you're crazy. Right after unhooking is the most common time you need to heal anyone quickly anyway. The situations in which it even has the potential to be useful are stupidly narrow (i.e trying to heal when the killer is coming straight towards you).

Did you participate during the PTB and provide this feedback at that time?PTB doesn't use the final voices of the characters. For instance, Adam's sounds were just Tapp's, and the Spirit had the same stun as the Nurse. The OP is probably referring to a new sound.
-
Yes, a glitch. I think it's been pointed out whenever this happens it's nearly always, if not always, on Wreckers' Yard.
-
The entitlement just drips off the page.
-
If this kind of thing really mattered there are still plenty of areas that don't have any representation. Ace's skin not being dark enough or whatever is a terrible reason to visit the same region again.
-
Did we really have to bring this reddit nonsense over here too?
-
All that was missing from the Laurie/Hag section was a score of classical music playing in the background and it would have been a perfect Looney Tunes short. The humor was perfect.
-
Closer to the big reveal. Two more interesting details were floated from the trailer. You can see a light bulb on the floor at 0:15, which means this is a modern setting after all. Secondly, the 'mask' at the beginning is supposedly a female one. Perhaps the killer isn't the man talking either! People were theorizing it was female before the trailer dropped, but then again the trailers are usually pretty straightforward, so who knows! If the killer is female, it could be something as simple as 'The Girl'. We'll find out tomorrow...

It is going to be The Oni obiouslyPerhaps. Most of the time they like going for something simple but plainly scary. I'd say something like 'The Ronin' would be likely too if they're using a local/Japanese term for the killer. But the Hag and Huntress were both had very 'flavored' lore and still had more generic names.

Just stop I'm sick of seeing salty survivor mains upset because the devs are nerfing survivors too much. All they're doing is making it fair for the killer half of you rely on crutches to get out such as DS and other OP perks well think about what that does to the killer. It makes them want to rage quit and smash something if they're bullied by toxic SWF and anyone in general. This game has been going in the right direction ever since BHVR broke away from Starbreeze. As someone who plays both killer and survivor when I play survivor do I like the changes maybe not, but do I agree with them yes everyone should have fun in this game. The only thing I think should be adjusted after the DS and Hatch nerf is the flashlights or addons for the flashlight. Survivors shouldn't have an extra chance unless they're bad at the game.Git gud.
Also Killers have their crutches too, but you seem to only want to focus on the survivor ones. Totally not biased I see.
maybe he focuses on them because they are the ones complaining atm? look at the steam reviews from yesterday
Where was he the months before the patch dropped when it was killers doing all the complaining? Not around? That wouldn't surprise me. Anyone who's played this game for more than a few patch cycles should know one or both killers and survivors will ALWAYS be complaining about nerfs.
Always.Killers complain about nerfs while being the weaker side. Survivors complain about nerfs while being the stronger side. The two sides are not equal.
^
I rest my case. -
It'd be a good change. Perk Levels certainly aren't doing anything to help the state of the game as it is.
But as for new legacy skins with it... lol.
-
Depends on which one you're playing. As a disclaimer, a lot of fans would probably call me biased. Civ V and Civ VI are both very popular, but quite a few veterans think the core elements were changed too much in both iterations, making the series something it never should have been.
For me, Civilization IV is still the best Civilization. And yes, it is really that good. I've played an uncountable number of hours with it. 6000+ hours would be a wimpy and probably way too low estimate. It's probably north of 10000, but who knows. I played before Steam and over many computers for a decade now, any number is a rough guess.
I absolutely recommend picking up IV if you're ever looking for a strategy. The Complete edition is really cheap nowadays and the gameplay is very easy to get into on the easier difficulties.
