"Hag is OP"
Ah, there's a sentence I never thought I'd hear again. Er, read again. But really, this is basically like release all over again for the Hag. For some reason, I was seeing a lot more Hags right before the patch was announced, but in general, a lot of players weren't/aren't experienced playing against her since she's always been very rare. Once they figure out what they're doing, she won't seem quite as strong.
-
Yeah, why doesn't everyone just play as good as the guy who has 4000+ hours in the game?

Just stop I'm sick of seeing salty survivor mains upset because the devs are nerfing survivors too much. All they're doing is making it fair for the killer half of you rely on crutches to get out such as DS and other OP perks well think about what that does to the killer. It makes them want to rage quit and smash something if they're bullied by toxic SWF and anyone in general. This game has been going in the right direction ever since BHVR broke away from Starbreeze. As someone who plays both killer and survivor when I play survivor do I like the changes maybe not, but do I agree with them yes everyone should have fun in this game. The only thing I think should be adjusted after the DS and Hatch nerf is the flashlights or addons for the flashlight. Survivors shouldn't have an extra chance unless they're bad at the game.Git gud.
Also Killers have their crutches too, but you seem to only want to focus on the survivor ones. Totally not biased I see.
maybe he focuses on them because they are the ones complaining atm? look at the steam reviews from yesterday
Where was he the months before the patch dropped when it was killers doing all the complaining? Not around? That wouldn't surprise me. Anyone who's played this game for more than a few patch cycles should know one or both killers and survivors will ALWAYS be complaining about nerfs.
Always. -
SWFs and DC'ers are annoying, of course. But as for pissing me off? My eyes always twitch when I'm downed and I see a teammate hiding in a locker.

All so true. Myopia, thy name is Dead by Daylight.

People who think dedicated servers are gonna end all problems are really living in Freddy's dream world. There'll be server lags, ddos, maintenance, long server downs because of some hardware issue. And knowing the fact that this is DBD, it has to be worse, to be unique, for a change xDExactly. Dedicated Servers at this stage would be a giant money sink and would maybe make the game function, maybe, marginally better than it does now. They're better off just improving the existing framework.

Yes, that means it's late.
No they are not late it was always going to be today they just announced it incorrectly. It's called making a mistake. Not being late, there's a difference.
If I tell you I'll meet you at 3pm for a fight and don't turn up until 4pm, does it make a difference if I say I meant 4pm all along?
Err, meet for a what?

Couldn't be, I can't even remember the last real botany discussion we've had on this forum.

Hold on though, first, how would you propose taking it from them?

"Survivors" don't get a second chance. The killer can always kill as long as the match is still going.
The survivor too always needs to have some possibility of surviving as long as the match is still going. Otherwise, there isn't a game.Once again, your opinion is wrong sir. Survivors have plenty of 2nd chances. Hell, they even get 3rd, 4th and even 5th chances. I even listed off examples. But it seems like your rebuttal is just to stick your fingers in your ears and scream "LALALALALALA I CAN'T HEAR YOU LALALALALA!"
This is sad to watch. Someone so blinded by salt it's affecting their ability to read.
Let me spell it out for you. I said "Survivors don't get a second chance" in reference to the fact the hatch doesn't give SURVIVORS (as in, the plural) another chance, it only helps one sole person. I wasn't giving commentary about the validity of DS/Adrenaline/any other of the nonsense you mentioned, which should have been obvious, because NO ONE WAS TALKING ABOUT ANY OF THAT.
But by all means, go on, scream at the world about the suffering that is your life as a poor killer against those nasty survivors. If it's therapeutic for you to vent the same tired points over and over, who am I to judge?
-
Are you on PC or console?
I find the Emblem system is where it should be for Survivors now, on PC. You seem to be properly rewarded for success, except in the extreme cases where the killer played terribly. -
I had a longer response, but apparently it was swallowed up for moderation. Never seen that happen before. If it shows up at some point, great. But I will say, if the best response you've got is to fall back on things no one was taking about, you've already lost.
-
My idea would be to not have hex totems automatically appear lit. If the totem is hexed, make it only light up when a Survivor interacts with it. The reason totems generally go so easily is because you can identify them almost instantly, especially on maps like Macmillan. If you see a lit totem during a chase, you know to come back to it, or if you spawn next to one, you know to dismantle it immediately.
If you were forced to check each totem before you knew it was worth taking a part, it would slow things down a great deal. -

Completely, in fact.
Calling the hatch 'a second chance' makes as much sense as calling the exit gates a second chance for killers (i.e. none). Killers don't lose just because survivors did 5 gens, ONE survivor (not Survivors) doesn't lose solely because the other three did.@MineAntoiya said:
The Killer can always kill BAD SURVIVORS as long as the game goes
The Killer can always be LOOPED by ABOVE AVERAGE survivors as long as the game goesThe last line is only not viable for the best nurses (and maybe the best clowns when people get more experienced)
Well, the question of skill and the viability of certain killers does change things, it's true. But I'd also say every team has a weak link and most of the time, either side has the means to either get a kill or escape.

A change to struggling speed would probably be OP, even as weak as 15%. But yes, Boil Over is a terrible perk as it is. Not just niche terrible but "What were they thinking?!?" terrible.
-
As far as I can tell, yeah we already have all the 'exclusive' skins. A least when you unlocked characters on the PTB, the survivors only came with their default outfit. When I unlocked Tapp with Auric cells, he only had his base outfit and not the sweater. I would guess that that's the exclusive for purchasing for the Saw DLC, Ace's tuxedo is for Flesh and Mud, Kate's white shirt for Curtain Call, etc. That would also explain why the only new addition mention in the patch notes was the Dwight cosmetic for the Leatherface DLC.

legacy for cells = absolu. yes: Its a Big chance to get alot of Money for Behavior, so why not
Why not? Because it goes against the entire idea of what the Legacy outfits mean. Selling them for money would be nothing but greedy and dishonest.

The colors are indeed confusing, and mostly an artefact of the old colors (They simply removed the ultra rare color)FreeTheUltraRareColour
Though the colours are based on usefulness/power, which is why I want the Ultra Rare tiers to return.
Ultra rare tiers = S tier
Purple = A Tier
Green = B Tier
Yellow = C TierWe can all agree not all purple perks are A tier but above. Plus the more colourful the more pretty, bringin the gay into DBD via perks are the homos global objective! We must prevail!
I don't want them to get the ultra rare color back for one thing : it would make bloodwebs more expensive since ultra-rare "items" are more expensive.
They should just normalize all perks colors, possibly making them either all green, or all purple at rank 3, would fix the matterUnder my suggestion, it actually wouldn't make the bloodwebs more expensive. Right now buying a set of perks is either 14000, 15000, or 17000; if they split them all to be Common/Rare/Ultra Rare they would all be 15000. It would either be negligibly more expensive or cheaper.
-
As vague as the lore is, it does make a point that the Entity is very specific about what Survivors it chooses for this reason. It selects the ones that will never give up, always keep fighting and provide the Entity with the hope it needs again and again.
-
I'd love to see them combo this idea and solve the the missing UR-level perks in one move. They could make all perks the same tier set and make the three different levels Brown/Green/Pink.
-
I'm glad for the speedy response and clarification on what was being tracked. Solid info is always reassuring when things like personal info might be in the mix. I can't fault anyone for raising the alarm over this, but the issue seems resolved now.
-
This whole thing feels super sketchy.
Looking over what it does, I'm not surprised the game has something like this, but the lack of transparency about it is troubling. Maybe I'm just too used to the EA "We're spying on you, deal with it" approach.

They said they want to revisit it (i.e. change it). Bashing the devs for not re-using a mechanic that's both annoying and unpopular is pretty absurd. The fact that it's not gone yet doesn't mean they like it.

Survivors used to be able to see the Killers names. For the record; that 'feature' wasn't removed because it was abused. It was an oversight that was never intended to work like that in the first place. And for some people, like myself, it never did work.

And why did we get that feeling? Because the Hunter there can literally destroy you, his presence is intimidating. I think we need that in DBD, this is supposed to be an Horror game and what is Horror without fear? Nothing.
Or maybe it's because Deathgarden is a new game with unfamiliar mechanics that you were still trying to figure out. A few weeks later and you'll look at both the Hunters and Killers the same. Once you know how to properly compete, the horror element is going to fade. Just look at F13.
-
Cats. Mind you I've never owned one, but I'm hoping to get one in the next few months. Honestly, dogs can be great... can be. But without proper training they can also be vicious creatures. I love my dogs, but other people's dogs? Nah.

I'm loving the pics from the new Halloween movie. It looks fantastic. It does! I don't normally go see horror movies in theaters, but I might have to make an exception here. It'd be really great if DBD had some kind of tie-in for the movie when it releases, from something as major as a new map to just cosmetic updates.

Err, which is it? Are we just an echo chamber or are there a good balance of reasonable people? It's hard not to notice the people with hundreds of posts consistently defending killers, including you, who still have plenty of upvotes to downvotes. If this was actually as biased as the OP implies, there would be countless survivors with as many posts and many more upvotes.

According to McCote in a dev stream once, the Killers go to a campfire just like the survivors, and the Killers also do not know that other killers exist. They are kind of kept in little "entity bubbles" and sometimes bubbles overlap and when they do, [???].
I don't know if that answers the question. I kind of feel like the devs don't even know about their own lore, and just make it up as they go along.Must have been really confusing for all of them when those hatchets randomly started showing up in the lockers.
-
As it is, prestige is about to become obsolete if they don't implement something like this. It was originally the default stealth option for survivors and a flashy 'status symbol' for both sides, but now the shop is offering a ton of options that are flashier and options better for stealth. Earning prestige isn't hard anymore and soon not even the customizations will be worth the effort.
-
The unique terror radius music on Myers and Huntress are both amazing, it's kind of odd that they don't give other killers the same treatment. Weird circus music would be perfect and also really help amp up the scare factor of a clown killer, which atm is a bit lacking for us non-coulrophobes.
-
Not really. It's been nearly two years since the Asylum came out. An entire new realm would just add to the already extensive backlog of realms that need more maps. As it, the circus area and the chapel are two unique areas when most variant maps have only one thing of that nature. I also find it really strange that there's this complaint about 'recycling' assets to make a **second ** map when all the original maps have 5 variations and the new ones really ought to be catching up already.

Lol this game sounded horrible when it released. It looks like it came a long wayHonestly, those were the golden days. The game was all over the place, full of problems, but a lot of fun too. Sure, the giant bloodwebs, OP perks and fewer options could be frustrating, but they were all we knew. It helps that there was also fresh content every two months.
All the problems did eventually catch up with it though, around December of the release year, and imo the game didn't really get back on its feet until the David/Huntress chapter. Yeah, we have definitely come a long way since then. -
It's hard to choose an outright favorite. I try to watch about forty-fifty a year (of course about half of them are garbage) so picking one from so many is tough. As far as the classics go, or at least the ones in DBD, my favorite is Halloween II.
-
Freddy. I don't mind Docs every now and then, but Freddy is never fun to go against.
-
I know I would have never picked up this game without the F2P weekends. Multiplayer games just aren't my thing, but a free weekend helped me realize this particular game was something I enjoy. They are a necessary evil, I'd say. One weekend of subpar games for a bigger community in the future.
Like powerbats said though, hackers can/should still be reported. -

Hi there! I downvoted this post. I thought Peanits gave a great and balanced assessment of the problem by pointing out both sides of the issue, only for you to ignore it, call all your opponents "toxic" and insist that your experience is the only one that matters because everyone else is a coddled bully.
I didn't find that very reasonable or supportive of honest discussion, so I down-voted. Mind you, I'm not sure this comment of mine is particularly constructive either, but since you were concerned about the downvote, I thought I'd explain myself. I haven't downvoted anything else you've posted, so I'll also happily reassure you that no one is stalking you. Afaik. -

In the old system, survivors were ranking easily, while killers struggled to. Now both sides have it hard to rank up.Ranking up as a killer under emblems is a joke, especially compared to the Victory Cube conditions which forced Killers to adopt a certain playstyle. Killers, for the most part, resented that. Now Killers can relax again while Survivors are arbitrarily told to play a certain way and are punished for playing outside of that model.
In other words, you want Killers to tunnel, camp, and pretty much only play Billy and Nurse right? That's why you want the Victory Cube back?
Playing outside of what model as survivors? Stealth? Running around aggro? I've pipped playing both ways as a Survivor so I'm not quite sure what you're talking about. Getting points as a Survivor is really no different than before.
Survive, make chases really long, save people, do gens. That is pretty much exactly the same as the old system except for the fact that stuff like pallet stuns and dull totems don't give you rank up anymore. It's the same as it's always been. Only a few people can get gens, only a few people can get saves. If you want to pip, you must go out and be the one to get ######### done now. You can't just let your SWF buddies carry you anymore like in the past.
The Victory Cube was way too strict on Killers, yet you want the Survivors to retain their easy mode Bloodpoint ranking? Is this some kind of bad joke?
I never said I wanted the Victory Cube back. Another post from you and you once again you totally misrepresent the post you're responding to. Why?
