  • Some old Killers, Maps and Mechanics need to get reworked for the new content to be enjoyed and to be really fun to play.

That's also in my opinion quite a huge reason, why camping is a problem at all. As killer you can be sure that someone is around. You could argue with "pressure gens", but you also pressure gens when you have 2 people down. Someone need to come for help, and if you get into chase with him as well, noone will be doing gens at that moment. If someone is, 2 other are dying

Agreed, applying map pressure is fairly difficult, and downing and hooking survivors is the best way to apply map pressure, hence why some Killers slug or camp. I do not encourage anyone to do it, but it does have a valid reason.

  • I just feel like the lore that could be explored with Tome I correlated more precisely to the Character's backstory. As to the Rifts, I like both ones equally.

  • Idk, I just don't like playing on Pale Rose and Grim Pantry. As a Killer, the Gens are normally far apart and there is this God Loop in the main building on Grim Pantry. As a Survivor, there are few Pallets and vaults. There are some pretty cool hiding spots though.

  • @mistar_z said:

or he kicked a pallet wrong, so now he uses his rifle

That would make sense, who knows, maybe he stumbled upon a Pallet while trying to break it. 🤔

  • Games are meant to be played for fun, there is no point in putting effort onto a game to get better if you're not having a fun time with it.

  • The Oni's background music just sticked to my head somehow. Idk, I just like it.

  • Idk, I like pineapple. I have no problem with eating it on pizza, Hawaiian Pizza is delicious in my opinion.

  • It is simply unnecessary to have to struggle manually, that doesn't bring any sort of challenge or fun, it's just spamming the space bar after all.

  • He needs some minor tweaks to get viable. His power has some downsides compared to the Huntress'. Just making him a 115% speed Killer would already make him viable in my opinion.

  • It's an interesting power and the Bear Traps are a symbol of this game, sort of. The Trapper is. Completely reworking his power would take away this nostalgia feeling. He just needs some buffs.

  • I generally play both roles equally.

  • I think he's definitely fun to play as, and sort of fun to play against. However, I think he needs some minor tweaks to be viable, he has some crucial downsides to his power compared to the Huntress, which is not good.

  • Legion needs some love too. Their power the way it is is nearly impossible to make strong and balanced at the same time. It's also not that fun to play as and against them.

  • The second floor is nearly a dead-end. There's really nothing there, only the main Gen. It should be a tad bit bigger, and maybe the closed doors should open when the last Gen is repaired to create new escape routes. 🤔 That would be interesting.

You don't even reach the other side of the next loop until they are unhooked

That's true, some Survivors really rush towards the unhook. That's why people get farmed sometimes.

  • @Godot said:

Don't let the opinions of others ruin your opinion of the game. That's childish. Just ignore them.

Agreed. You play the game the way you want to.

  • There are surely plenty of strategies to avoid it, such as not lunging early. DH also has a skill cap, but can be used without full knowledge of the perk. That being, the perk itself isn't OP, it's definitely ok though. (It doesn't work most of the time because of Dedicated Servers 😑 )

  • @SL33PY said:

Plague on spirits map hooked someone other three were broken. Take two steps and hear crying. Find the crying survivor , they rush hook and get downed dc survivor on hook kills themselves. This all happens within 10-15 seconds. Get called camping trash and should uninstall... really? Lmao smh so ridiculous, what is wrong with this community?

As a Killer, when you hook a Survivor, if you don't go to the other edge of the Map and stand still there until the hooked Survivor is safely unhooked, healed, and starts working on a Gen, you're camping.

That's what entitled Survivor mains want Killers to do.

Does anyone want this skin to be in the game?

It would be very interesting to have a Demogorgon with petals on his head running around the Map. It would be a very funny skin, I would definitely buy it.

  • From the image itself, I can't quite understand the situation: does the game continuously crash, does it happen for a specific reason?

The best I can do for you is advise you to report the issue on the Technical Issues section of the Forums, which can be accessed under https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/technical-issues. There, you'll get help from people who know it better.

He wears a brace, his lore mentions pain running through his leg when he gets up after being taken by the Entity, but it never mentions any injuries to his leg. The most we get is the Jaw Smasher addon, which mentions he was shot through the jaw in a shootout. Maybe the same happened to his leg?

He could have broken his leg in prison or have been shot in the leg. There are no solid explanations as to why this came to be, but we can speculate.

  • @Rezblaze said:

Wraith, Hillbilly, and Deathslinger all have white, glowing eyes.

What does this mean? Does it mean anything? Was it simply an aesthetic choice?

One thing that seems common in these three characters is that they were wronged by other people in some way, and feel their murder is righteous or vengeance for their mistreatment or betrayals. Could that be a sign? I know they're not the only ones who have tragic backstories, but they're the only ones who seem to think their killing is righteous and justified.

Reading the Lore of the Entity, it looks like when the Entity touches or "blesses" a Killer, their eyes get white.

  • @grayon444 said:

Is there a reason behind it?Or is it there to be more spooky?

I guess it's just the entity not understanding again.

Yeah, some tree species are naturally taller than other, but it might have something to do with the Entity not fully understanding the real world and not being able to exactly replicate a theme. Maybe it can only create tall trees and doesn't understand shorter ones.

  • @bilaueta said:

Why are there so many cans lying around on so many maps in the game? Are they food cans? Did survivors eat them? Does that mean that survivors can die of starvation? Why do survivors throw so much trash away? Do they not have any concern for the environment? Were did they even find the cans if they ate them? Are they also constantly looking for food?

    SO MANY QUESTIONS!

I think the cans/boxes were already there when the Entity created its version of the theme. However, since it can't replicate the real world exactly, only one iteration of cans/boxes (the sausage boxes) are present on the Maps.

After my work being cut short today after my mate having to leave early due to family issues, we didn't find it, although I've already gathered a few ideas of where it could be, and it MIGHT have something to do with EGC but I could be entirely wrong.

It could have, but I think the Devs could have been more creative with this one. Maybe you have to complete a specific Generator or a specific set of Generators to unlock it. Idk.

  • @snozer said:

They changed the breakable wall at the shack.

Says it all. They are going to "adjust" all loops with the breakable wall, with the wall in mind so it does nothing.

The new placing of it isn't really the most impactful, but maybe the Devs will realize it and change it on other Maps.

All Breakable Walls on the new Map mostly don't affect the chase in any way.

  • @OperationMintyHippo said:

@FichteHiro considering how long many of these issues have been in the game, compared to the massive amount of legitimate game-breaking bugs that currently exist in dbd that also aren't being fixed, I doubt these will ever even be considered as something to be looked at by the devs.

Unfortunately, that's true. Some issues are in the game for quite some time now and the Devs still haven't fixed them. But I'm sure they know about their existence.

  • @Nameless said:

I mean it’s a perk that allows you to get away with a mistake when used correctly. In a game where the killer is on the clock and gens go flying, it’s kinda silly to get punished as a killer because a survivor just pressed a button, even though they just made a mistake. Combine it with most of the maps that are insanely large and a basic m1 killer without any mobility and you’re basically done for. You just chased after someone and they got away so you got no pressure in any shape or form.

I’m not saying it’s like this all the time. The amount of times I see people use it badly or it just doesn’t work out because they get downed a second later is still the majority.

Idk how they could change it in a way it doesn’t do that anymore while it still being useful though. They would have to rework it and I don’t see that happening anytime soon.

Agreed, it's very hard to rework this perk in a way that Survivors will still use it. Chances are they'll start using Sprint Burst or Lithe if DH gets nerfed.

Survivors do profit from the perk a lot when they make a mistake or are near a Pallet at lunge range, and I agree that it hasn't that high of a skill cap most of the time.

  • @OperationMintyHippo said:

@FichteHiro also the same with a lot of vehicles and similar items. Most specifically the infamous red car in front of the house on badham.

Agreed, collisions are quite broken sometimes and there are lot of examples. I think the Devs are aware of this and may be working on a fix. Idk. Some broken collisions are there for quite some time though.

  • @Anthony151201

    No, it's not bannable.

There is no way to prove you died on hook on purpose, that's why the Devs didn't add punishments towards killing yourself on Hook along with the DC punishments. New players would be heavily punished by a such a system since they don't know you need to struggle or don't press space bar.

However, it does make the game quite unfun for the people left in the Trial, so it's not the nicest of all things.

  • @ASurvkillivorer said:

Survivors didnt need toolboxes to BLAZE gens in the first place. Cry some more.

Smart survivors make this change work in their favor by holding the toolbox for later. Which in a lot of cases is potentially worse for the killer as it limits the chances the killer has to counter the fact the toolbox was used in the first place.

If anything this update just highly encouraged survivors to be very smart with their toolboxes by simplifying how to do just that....

    Agreed.

  • @OperationMintyHippo said:

I'm gonna say can we fix the stairs? All of the stairs have a bunch of invisible ledges and stuff on them. I was going into the basement and my character "jumped" 3 times just running down. Most annoying when I'm trying to make a save and I have to take the stagger delay every time I "fall" from nothing. As killer I get stuck on nothing all the time. It's just annoying and frustrating.

Now I will also say thank you for the vent because honestly what actually gets fixed these days.

Yeah, some stairs are very buggy. Their collision is bigger than it should and this causes you to get stuck sometimes. Also hope they fix it soon.

  • @Toastyy said:

I believe dead hard is easily the best exhaustion perk and definitely the most popular, it has the potential to turn a 5 minute chase into a 2-3 minute chase to a 5-6 minute chase simply by pressing a button I don’t think a perk should have that much power, yes it may leave you on the ground exhausted sometimes but that’s because of the dedicated servers and latency if you had zero lag you would never have a problem with it.

Furthermore it shouldn’t reward a survivor for making a mistake for example you mind game the survivor and they run straight into you, NOPE you’re not allowed to hit me because I pressed a button that allows me to simply avoid all damage, dash forward and extend the chase even longer even though I screwed up but the killer has to pay for my mistakes.

Not to mention Dead Hard allows you to avoid The Doctors shocks if your desperate enough and even Trappers bear traps.

Meanwhile if the killer makes a single mistake it could cost them a lot of valuable time and even the game if the survivors are good enough.

Will we see a change in the near future involving Dead Hard ? Because 90% of my games at least 2 survivors are running Dead Hard

Since it doesn't work most of the time because of Dedicated Servers I think it's not an OP perk. This certainly an ok perk though.

    @IronKnight55 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1155999#Comment_1155999

The perk would be pretty much useless if they did that. DH doesn't need any changes. Devs care about BOTH sides. A few killers just got buffed and Toolboxes were pretty much nerfed into the ground. The Devs are working hard to make sure the game is as balanced as possible.

The Devs sure try to balance the game so that both sides have a good experience. However, since the Community is very divided on core issues of the game they balance the game for the majority of the players, which are Survivor players. Since Survivors constitute a majority, they mostly have to balance the game around them considering killer players have drastically different views on the issue. Ruin was nerfed partially because of new players.

I am sure that Myers, Pigg or Clown will be reworked or get significant look

There are two terrible realmes: Haddonfield and Gideon. The former is not liked by both sides. The latter is very small, but there are enormous ammount of very safe pallets.

Clown's power is the most poor. I see him hetting some love with Disturbed Ward update.

    What are your thoughts?

I personally think the swamp should get reworked. It's generally not a good experience for either role to play on Grim Pantry and Pale Rose.

There should also be a "Map Cube" kind of thing where the Devs take a look on all Maps and remove god loops, etc.

I agree with you that the Clown needs to be buffed and/or reworked since his power is kinda weak and not fun to play against.

However, Bubba and Legion need some love too. The Legion's power is almost impossible to be made strong and balanced.

  • @DocFabron said:

Toolboxes suck now, yes. But something had to be done. Gens were going too quickly and that was a huge reason why.

Yeah, now you have to strategize and decide when you're gonna use the Toolbox for the most effective use.

However, Gens were already going extremely fast after they nerfed Ruin, and then all Survivors started using Toolboxes like crazy. There isn't much the Killer could do, and there still isn't.

I find it hard to believe the sound team can't figure out why survivors without Iron will are making zero sounds. If I told my boss for months that I couldn't figure it out he'd fire my ass and get someone that could.

True, but I'm pretty sure they know that these issues with sounds exist, the entire Community pointed this out multiple times. It is kinda hard to believe that they still didn't find a fix considering they know the issue exists, but maybe they're working on it now, idk.

  • @dnj510 said:

Ever been so close to escaping and had two healthy survivors willingly not try to protect you while you're injured? I sure have. These two "red rank" survivors stood near the open gate as I was being chased and didn't try to help. Like, #########?

Then after I'm on the ground, they want to try and body block and heal me. Nope. Get the [BAD WORD] off of me and leave.

I would post the video of it but it sickens me just to think about it. No one should ever go through that.

Yeah, that's the problem of playing solo queue. You generally are teamed with Survivors who don't know better. The matchmaking doesn't help, but there are people who don't play that well at all ranks, ranks are subjective and represent how often you play the game most of the time.

  • @Ashlich said:

You can't even play a game of DbD without SOMETHING breaking anymore. Sound bugs, aim dressing throwing you into walls, random game crashes you name it. Hell I just had a match as Doctor where the game would not show ANY indicators of survivor locations. Screams? Nope. Generators blowing up? Nope. Fast vaulting windows? Hahaha nope. The list just goes on with this game, the devs are just blatantly incompetent and will be the downfall of the game. We need fix's NOW, not next mid chapter, not even next chapter. ######### NOW!

Agreed, the game does have a lot of issues that are there for quite some time now and don't seem to be fixed. Playing Killer is already extremely hard at red ranks and you have a sweat a lot to get a 4k or even a 2k. Bugs have always been a part of this game and some of them exist since 2016. However, I think the Devs are aware of these game-breaking issues, they just don't seem to fix them. Who knows, maybe they didn't find a solution yet whatsoever.

I was running the hell out of a spirit with eyes for only me so she could get that sweet sweet mori

I could've gotten away buuuut....oh well, screw me, I turn a corner and now I'm trapped. My god run ended because you took a window out (op tb fair or whatever) but YOU LEFT...A DAMN...DEADEND!!!!

WHY THE ABSOLUTE ****?! IS THERE A GODDAMN DEAD END?!

Remove that, just, remove it, open up one of the three ****in walls

    PLEASE

It's RNG-based whether or not the Window at this corner spawns, so there is always a 50% chance that there will be a dead end at the corner. That's why going there could be quite risky if you don't have a lot of distance.

I agree, it won't be that impactful, but it adds a degree of freedom to the players, may it be for mind gaming or necessity.

Agreed, it can be used for some interesting mindgames if a Survivors goes towards you when your reloading.

  • @hex_genrush said:

Nice that I’m rank 4 and getting qued with rank 15s and 20s who literally just fat hold control button and self care at the corner of the map, and go down in 10 seconds of a chase, seriously game? Every time I play killer I get god like survs and when I play surv I get terrible teammates who throw down god pallet after being hit at the entrance of shack on the way out

The matchmaking system is probably responsible for that. I doesn't really create the fairest matches. The Devs know that, hence why they're working on a new matchmaking system.

That's also why a large group of people play SWF only, solo queue is challenging at red ranks.

  • @Nobsyde said:

Right now if you start reloading your gun, you can't cancel that for whatever reason. This is different from any other killer with setup time. For example, Trapper and Hag can cancel their traps placement, or Clown can cancel bottles reload.

My suggestion is to change the reload action from a trigger to a progress: instead of activating it and waiting for the reload to be completed, one would need to activate and hold the reload the button for the action to be completed.

At any time, the killer can cancel the reload and suffer a few ms of delay before being able to act normally (the time for the animation to stop and go back to idle, basically).

This is similar to what happens to basically any other FPS game, where players reloading their gun can quickly switch to another one / a melee weapon and use it quickly.

I think that would be a reasonable change since other Killers with similar mechanics have that, but I don't think it would be that impactful in-game, his reload animation isn't that long.

  • Bringing more people to the Forums is certainly a good thing, but it is kind of complicated to decide what interaction would award people with in-game rewards. Let's suppose posting 100 comments would give you 100000 Bloodpoints. People would most likely just post comments that don't really have anything to do with the discussion or post extremely short comments such as "Yes" just to get the Bloodpoints and not necessarily to contribute to the discussion.

  • Maybe Peanits or not_Queen, the Community Managers.

  • @lynelmane said:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/680/R35KVWZCC7ZX.png

it's almost as if the game knew this type of matchmaking isnt okay.

Yeah, the matchmaking isn't the best, and the Devs are aware of it, hence why they are working on a new MMR system with which ranks will become obsolete when the matchmaking is concerned. This will hopefully prevent such matches from being created.

  • @BattleCast said:

I wouldn't even recommend this add-on to a new player. They need more practice with skill-checks not less.

True, but i wanted to see more creative ways to alter addons, more choices. This is another useless addon that will remain as is for another 3 years.

True, but it's different I guess. It's isn't just your quintessential Add-on that just changes number values.

  • @Quake said:

"Eliminates skill checks when repairing with toolbox"

I really don't get the reasoning behind this change, and i know i didn't have many drinks tonight, but,i mean for experienced players the more skill checks the better.

So is this a new guys kind of addon?

It might be, and it would kinda make sense since a lot of new players started playing the game with the release of the Stranger Things DLC. The Devs nerfed Ruin because it disproportionately affected new players in the first place.

I do agree it isn’t helping anyone by throwing out curse words etc, but I do reach my boiling point whenever this kind of thing happens, because rn I’m relying on dead by daylight as my entertainment source as overwatch is just bad in my opinion and I just don’t have a taste for any other games. But the nature of dead by daylight is just like a chain loop. A new chapter comes out and everyone plays the killer and about after a month everyone just goes back to playing their main. And then when a new chapter comes out it repeats. So yeah, you really can’t do much other than just play the game.

Yeah, but it's how it works unfortunately. Now, with the Ruin Nerf, if the Killer wants to 4k at red ranks, he needs to adopt this sweaty playstyle. Playing the new killer after he launched also happens every time. I mean, you need to get over it in case you don't want to make yourself mad every time you play the game.
