I'm so tired of this victim mentality on the forums lately.

You worked your way up into this voluntarily, which you're entitled to do. But I'm sure the poor solo queue players didn't have any fun against you, either. And you weren't obligated to make it fun for them if you didn't want to. But it's the nature of the beast.

And your takes on penalties based on perk usage are really poorly thought out. So you're allowed to want to have fun, but swfs aren't? And what about solos who run the same perks by chance? What penalties are you getting as compensation? Why is your fun more important than anyone else's?

This really all just sounds like a lot of "woe is me I can't 4k easily anymore."

    Amen partner.

Honestly man I'm disgusted, and absolutely sick and tired of swf. It's been a massive issue for years, and on here and reddit killers complain in massive quantities, as a matter of fact it's the biggest issue most killers have.

I hop on wanting to have a good time in the morning before I start my day. Just wanna play a few matches and grind some bloodpoints to lvl up my killers. I need alot of perks for them bc I just switched to PC.

I play legion, and immediately I get paired with a an swf group where all 4 of them are running BT, DH, DSTRIKE, and some form of speed perk, ontop of 3 of them running purple flashlights with insta blind add-ons and one had the healing boon.

All match, they clicked at me, teabagged every chance they got, grouped up on gens while I was chasing someone else. Abused deadhard to make it to windows and pallets for free when they should have been downed, then had the audacity to teabag and taunt after the free escape like the did something great. Abused borrowed time by standing still teabaghing knowing he was invincible and then I hit him, and the free speed rush got him to a pallet where he teabagged some more.

I got three hooks. Then they decided to take the end game hostage and all three clicked and tried to blind me until I forced them out the gate. The last one just used deadhard to the exit gate for a free escape. Weeeee... so hard. Playing survivor is a joke. The devs hold their hands man. Then they act cocky like they are actually playing well or like pros. Dude, you ALL have second chance perks. You all are coordinating. Lmao.

This is constantly happening. I can't play the game and just enjoy myself. It's nothing but bully fests. Match after match after match.

I have a match like this, and I already just wanna quit. It's awful. Why won't the devs address how strong this is? It's a joke. You can feel how disadvantaged you are going against this. 16 perks and add-ons and coordinating!? Seriously?

It would be different if this was a rare encounter but I'm legit finding myself doing these kind of matches almost every other match I play. It's constant.

Teams need caps! Or killers need boosts against teams! Period! Killers don't play this game just be jesters for bully teams that wanna be A-holes. We want to enjoy ourselves too, and if we can't.

We just leave! Then your ttv squads can just stream lobbies all day for their followers Instead.

Their behavior is appalling. I've never in my life played a game this toxic. I assumed the MMR would help but I haven't seen any difference really.

The first time I play a killer the first match is fine, then immediately I'm playing against nothing but squads. Swf is getting worse and more common these days.

    Hilarious.

    I would read again.

  • @van9684 said:

I swear bhvr rewards you more for playing awful. I just had a round where I did 4 out of 5 gens, which is not my usual okay style. I escaped and de-pipped lol. My teammates who were getting hooked and downed got more points but did nothing for objective. Just something I noticed. Is it that bad for killer too?

It's more "proffitable" to get chased by the killer for big ammount of time and get maybe 1 save to pip than just sit on gens.

  • @DanielPaint said:

What's with this weird trend? I noticed it by blight, twins and nemises. First they get trash talked and then for some reason there S-A tier for everyone because Streamer or Youtuber X said he's good.

The opposite by clown but same scenario. First everyone loved the buff and because again Youtuber or Streamer X said he's still bad and everyone is now seeing it like that.

I really love personally how they still say trickster worst killer evaaa

  • @Steah said:

What chase time would you consider to not quite be a killer victory, but not a survivor victory?

What do you think is the sweet spot?

    Depends on gen speeds efficiency.

Does it matter if u run the killer for 5 gens but your teammates hide in bushes?

  • @TwitchyMike said:

Just occurred to me... And for both sides. I mean clearly if the killer kills all 4 survivors it's a win. If all 4 survivors escape it's a win. But what else is considered winning for the killers and survivors? Like is 2 kills and 2 escapes a tie? Can someone shed some light on this for me? The game doesn't seem to focus a lot on what's winning.

Streamers like Otz with countless win streaks consider a win a 4k + 3k if 1 gets mercy/gets hatch and 2k a tie.

    Others consider a win +1.

    Depends how u see it.

  • @gatsby said:

My theory on boon totems is that they’re the reverse of hex totems. They activate strong perks for Survivors once they are found and cleansed.

It’s an incentive to look for totems early-game instead of slamming generators. Essentially adding a new objective for Survivors that like risk/reward gameplay and bring boon perks.

    Here’s an idea for one:

    Boon: Long Run

Cleanse a Boon Totem to activate Boon: Long Run for the remainder of the trial.

    Gain +5% haste status.

Extremely strong perk, but it requires you to spend the first 30-90 seconds running around the map looking for the Boon Totem.

I kinda like the idea tbh.

actually, her animation resets when she starts phasing, so take a look a her hair to know when she's faking it or not (I tried it with a friend and it's hard to notice in the heat of a chase, but it's possible)

Also, there are many ways that you can mind game a spirit during her phase, even by quickly changing your location to make it harder for her to know where you are, so mind gaming her is possible. It just takes A LOT of skill

    Did u read what i wrote?i have 2k hours i know how to mindgame.U can't mindgame a stridor spirit.

  • @Mr_K said:

Missing the survivor's point. They don't want Spirit to hear them at all.

Said the biased killer.Survivors don't have any indication of wether she is phasing or faking.

Stridor is overkill on her,end of discussion.GOOD spirit with stridor?GL with that.

Stridor eliminates the only option survivors have by mindgaming her.

    AKA:Broken.

    Get it?

  • @FablPlayz said:

I used add ons to make them moderatly faster and considerably increase their detection range and they didn't even hit a survivor one time on hawkins

I had a game yesterday where i was in chase and as i am about to vault the shack window there's a zombie blocking it from the outside.i was injured and infected and the god pallet was already used.

Long story short it was in the end game and the game resulted in a 2k.If it had not been for the zombie 4 escape.

So no,zombies are not useless.Sometimes they are in the right place in the right time.Btw,there's a reason u can see their auras as nemesis.Use it to your advantage, kind of like when playing the twins.

That's the worst take ever. Killers being toxic doesn't mean you should dc. Report them and move on. If everyone just dc-ed whenever they wanted, there would be no matches left to even play.

Hey now,it's not like killers don't dc if they find themselves being overpowered.

  • @UncleStabby said:

The tutorial tells us that this is the Killer's domain. Here we can often find the Basement, a terrifying room with hooks that can't be sabotaged and carries with it an extra risk for unhooking teammates....

But is this really the Killer's home turf? Hardly. Killer shack is one of the safest places to be for a survivor, oddly enough. It comes standard with a God pallet and Demigod window, and has not one, but two (and sometimes up to SIX) lockers!

Now, what if we changed it to make it really feel like the Killer Crib its meant to be? Heres a few ideas to get it going:

-Make the Killer shack customizable for the killer by adding more breakable walls to tighten loops, maybe introduce a breakable window for killers like Trickster, Huntress, and Slinger.

-Add increased chances for totem Spawns. The shack would be more dangerous, of course, but we should balance that out with greater rewards. Totems being there would make it more enticing.

-Add another chest to basement, and increase the rarity of the loot that can be found within.

-Add the Oblivious effect while in the basement.

I can already hear you guys tsking and going 'But what about campers? What's the counter?'

Camping is toxic, yes, and camping needs to be changed too, so that it punishes killers more, but thats a different subject.

What about you guys? Any ideas you have to balance the shack or basement more?

So make it like dead dawg salloon with breakable wall?No thank you.

As a killer play optimally to get rid of god palet asap.

  • Moonwalk at gen, don't u dare touch my spine chill.

  • For the love of entity....this made me giggle...

  • @UncleStabby said:

Ive noticed survivor is really quick to matchmake now! Killer's a lot slower. I bet new players have something to do with it.

No,i meant the loading screen. It used to take up to 1 min to load the game, now in most matches it loads up pretty fast.

He's more annoying than hag if you don't have a beamer.

I started to pick up killer mainly to do the tome challenges and to farm for BP when I'm done playing as survivor. But I have no idea how to let survivors know I wanna farm with them.

I know with ghostface to just teabag a lot and with hag & demo to use their traps/portals as a sign, but what for the other killers?

Any tips are welcome for this! And same goes for as survivor to let the killer know you wanna farm or befriend them.

Find the first survivor near a gen and m1 the gen until they get the message and approach.

  • Naming and shaming Itchymike.

  • The major problem with spirit personally i believe is stridor. It's just overkill.0 counter even with perks.

  • @Laluzi said:

I think we're seeing a lot more hook suicides/DCs because that stuff is endemic at green and yellow ranks. Like one person kills themselves every match type endemic. People still do it at red ranks, but that's usually in response to a killer they don't like, because people who quit every time don't stay in red ranks. Since we're getting paired with rainbow ranks now, we're seeing more of it.

But I mean, they're still trying to make MMR work because literally everyone hates matchmaking as it is. At least they're trying to do something... and I guess this is a fresh type of awful compared to the stale one, so yay? (I've actually been having pleasant killer games today, with teams that are around my skill level; it's the survivor games that are oofy. I'm going against killers who have no business being in the same game as me, and getting teammates that are... much better matched to the killer than they are to me, let's put it that way. Still, the alternative was dying nine games out of ten because easy emblems push me into a rank I don't belong in and red rank solo queue is hell. So it's no happy medium, and I think the MMR took that death data and overcomped hard, but as far as absolute values are concerned, it's not exactly worse than before.)

    So much this.

Sometimes I heal against the Legion. Honestly, most of them bring Thanatophobia or other add-ons that make doing generators take longer. Not to mention Discordance. If no gen slowing down perks were present, maybe me and others that think like me wouldn't try to heal.

Sorry that not everyone can avoid taking another hit in an already damaged state.

Very good points @OP and also now that u mention it,why would u work together with other people on gens vs legion?

(I'm talking about the start of the trial obviously)

The more spread out survivors are and doing gens the better the chances of winning.

Exactly, I was saying survivors shouldn't get glimpses of her while she is phasing. If the survivors get anything more from her phasing it should be sound not glimpses of her body. And yes Stridor is an issue but on the flip side wouldnt we say Iron will is also an issue? People only use stridor because of Iron will and how it actually makes you quieter than when youre healthy. I wouldnt mind seeing Stridor changed entirely and seeing Iron Will changed so it doesnt make you completely silent. We've got to consider both sides.

IW is universal anyway as survivor...Stridor is not because each killer is mechanically diferent...I run Stridor on nurse 8/10 times but it aint't a free down, unlike running stridor on spirit...

  • @Zenro said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2251396#Comment_2251396

While that sounds cool I dont think it's a great idea. If the survivors get information from her it should be sound based. Just like she is tracking with sound so should the survivors track her location with sound. She is a "spirit" after all.

Survivors do track spirit with sound and observation(grass+footsteps)

It's only stridor that breaks her.

  • @bibibib8 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2251459#Comment_2251459

Spine chill because you know stridor is the counter to iron will. If you dont have spine chill stay healthy and play with the other survivor to make her lose you its a 4v1 not a 1v1 most of the people forget about that aspect

I run spine chill exclusively for spirit,to eliminate mind games.Your answer is invalid though.Completely out of place.

    Don't answer me it's 4v1 blah blah.

Give me a real counter to stridor spirit.

  • @bibibib8 said:

Spirit have counter play the only reason people say she have zero counter play is because most of the counter play is a mind game and survivor are dont think often so they hate her

A rock bottom skill floor with a near game-breaking skill ceiling is bad game balance and bad game design. That's really not debatable.

"You need to know when to use it" Ah, just like DH. "and how to 99 it" ah yes, that 0.1 second difference of walking. It's not that much extra skill, honestly.

When to use it aka u don't do a gen with SB ready if u know u can safely fix a gen for a while, tap sprint at around 50-60% gen progression -> exhausted -> continue gen-> 99% SB ->run the killer.

SB is a whole different level than DH sorry.I too pick DH most of the times for the easy mode to be honest.

I'm noticing when playing survivor that red ranks now feel as untarnished as ever. I have noticed in the past month red ranks solos survivors have been in the worst state that I have ever seen. I don't know what is going lately but it seems that red ranks survivor feel like they are not at the same level as red rank killers. Now I don't know is it maybe that there is a new wave of players in this game that ranked up to quickly or what is going on but I don't think I have seen red rank survivor play as badly as this last couple of weeks. Could it be the wave of new players? Or are survivors in general ranking to quickly.

They are ranking up so easily not quiclly.

  • @Kalinikta said:

You miss the point of the argument as it isn't about the strength of the survivors on an individual skill level it is about the gap between SWF and solo teams. Since you won't be able to take away coms from a SWF.

The idea behind it is if the gap between a group of the same people in solos or as a SWF is less apparent, then it would be easier to balance the game out in a manner where it would not matter as much if the killers deals with all solo, duos mixed in, trios or a full squad.

As you point out the game is being balanced around the solo experience, yet Killers do not exclusively play against them and have to deal with SWF teams to some degree quite often. As a result it makes the killer experience more difficult, as a duo, trio or full squad means the balance shifts towards the survivors. You shouldn't punish players for playing in a group or as a solo, equalize the two to make it less important and balance around that is by far the best approach. You should be able to group up with other good players you meet and not feel bad about it because it provides to much advantage.

This is the argument people state, shift the balance by adjusting solo play into be more inline with SWF and simultaneously adjust killers to match.

Like it has been said many times, comms is not the biggest strengh of SWF teams...Time effiency and know how to run the killer is.

Or like a guy in another thread said,Their biggest strengh is been able to pick their teammates.

  • @EntitySpawn said:

Sorry but any talk or actions of such is a terrible idea, we all know and even the devs know and have acknowledged that rank means very little, 2 survivors in red rank currently can be so different it's insane.

So why would we talk about buffs when the ranking doesnt mean anything... because when mmr does come out guess what, you just buffed all those good solo players. I legit just had a game where someone the same rank as me just crouched and hid round one corner of the map by the time a done a full solo gen, seen her later missing every skill check yet I nearly always hit greats, know every tile, map, perks, killer counters etc. Yet were the same rank. Do you actually monitor and see how little your team actually do generators or know how to loop?

YOU CANNOT BUFF SOLOS. Do people not remember high mmr games? Even Scott Jun who now supports swf and say solos need a buff hated the mmr because of how stupid hard it was... they was mostly solos but now you want them buffed??? What? Or are we now saying all good players at high mmr are swf? Because that's not true...

Yes people make mistakes vs swf, but saying solos need a buff is wrong. You cannt buff people who are still learning, because when they do learn they're now much stronger. When people say swf is the stronger role they arent including teammates that cant play.

But what does my opinion matter, I'm not a streamer. It's not like my experience since game launch, consistently doing well against all types of killers, knowing pretty much everything you wish to know about the game (except addon names). As someone who plays solo near 90% of the time, the other 10% with my misses who btw struggles alot btw, I'd still perk her over a random, why? Coms...

(Btw I dont group up with other good randoms because of the advantages) if you think coms dont provide any advantage then you're lying to yourself. Sure not everyone will be doing every fallout but every bit of info helps. Remember swfs would be weaker if they was solo. Not because solo sucks because of the inefficiency that can happen when off coms which is a normal part of the game and its balanced that way.

All respect to scott and other players, but no I'm sorry buffing solos isn't a good idea till mmr has been out at least half a year for things to adjust to the system.

This is actually what i have suggested in the past as well.Hitting r4 should totally be hard and meaningful.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2241806#Comment_2241806

Than how do you suggest nerfing her without defeating the purpose of her kit?

If you nerf her the way the survivor community wants to, you defeat and butcher the purpose of her kit. It would be like nerfing Nurse to where she can't blink through objects, or making Wraith stay visible while he's cloaked.

I'm totally against nerfing the standing still mindgame cause that ruins the element of...mindgames...I don't know how to nerf her, maybe make so that stridor doens't work on her i dunno. That's the only thing that pisses me off on spirit.

  • By the way....She will get nerfed at some point. This is 100% guarantfuckingteed.
