Well I am both survivor and killer player. While I agree solo can be quiet a problem just because a SWF groups have some advantages does not mean that Solo should be buffed. The game is actually designed to play as solo mode. Yes SWF have advantages and yes at solo you cant choose your teammates, they can leave you on hooks and etc... but the buff would not solve this problems and I think that it will even do worse in some contest.

I was playing solo quiet a lot time and then during my solo matches I watched some survivors and ask the good ones to team up with me. We dont use any comms or dont know each other perks. I only know them as good solo survivors and we made quiet a team with them. Just play solo, find nice survivors and team up with them is my best advice.

Solo does not need any buff. Some SWF gain advantage yes but they gain that advantage by using 3rd party softwares such as comms which is considered out of the game mechanic and you should not be using ( However people will which is normal and obv).

I totally agree with u,solo should't be buffed at all,is just the community asks for solo buffs so much that eventually they gonna get it.

I only suggested the less "painfull" change.

So solo Q only matters in ranks 15-20? What about everyone else, including me, that are at red ranks? There are still a lot of megs hiding behind rocks sure, but is not as often in lower ranks.

Buddy i wouldn't make this post if that wasn't exactly what i wanted to say.Ranking system is busted,i'm in red ranks also with 2k+ hours and in most of my games i get...potatoes...how else can i say it...

  • @swager21 said:

the problem with this change is that the perk empathy pretty much already does that

    solo queue just needs:

kindred basekit (but without the ability to see the killer)

the ability to see each others perks

MAYBE a whisper text chat but that might be too far.

What if everyone's injured?Yes it's obvious who's in chase with empathy but still.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

There's a lot, lot more that needs to be done to solos. Totem counter basekit, seeing loadouts pre-game, an in-game ping system to allow basic forms of communication, etc

I beg to differ,we dont need a totem counter or a buckle up basekit. What i am trying to say is that in solo Q in a LOT of games u get people who are wasting valuable time for no reason,u know hiding behind rocks because they dont know where the kiler is etc.People that dont have as many hours played as experienced folks. We all understand that i suppose.

What i suggested is a good start for new players to invest in that info and do objectives instead of wasting time.

I have almost 1000 hours in the game which is not a lot I guess. I can no longer play fun builds at red ranks and meta perks on other killers is not working recently either. Even when I lose I black pip so it is a never-ending cycle forcing me to play spirit if I decide I want kills.

I was in the same situation when I was new, spammed spirit until r7 I think, couldn't rank any higher.

    Then the nurse happened.

I mean if all you care about is getting to r1.

  • If we assume the survivors are all solo and are decent and the killer is decent it's a pretty even match.(2k)

If by survivor sided you mean SWF then yes, heavily survivor sided.

    This is what i think.

  • @Bravobro said:

The killer rank is too hard to get to 1. As a survivor it was easy to get to number one. But as a killer it is makeble yes, but much more elaborate. You don't want to have to be constantly sharp on 4 kills and make the survivors down that's toxic to the system. Do I have several matches where I catch 2 survivors the rest with the key also all hock up by the way and I don't get a counter to climb in rank? That can't be right

Personally i find it way easier to hit r1 on killer rather than solo survivor. As a killer it's you against you,as survivor you are reliant on 3 more people.

Like I feel it's intentional, like it actively bullies people somedays.

Red rank in both survivor and killer.

If I queue up as survivor I get like all green or brown rank teammates who have no clue what they are doing.

If I queue up as killer I get a full red rank SWF with map offerings, full meta loadouts, ton of items, etc....

I feel like it's targeting me because I can toggle back and fourth and it's like night and day each time.

My exact same experience in dbd as you.

Especially when I wait 5 minutes in queue as survivor and I get a lobby full of console.(console triggers me)

  • @RenTheCat said:

Why is this even a thing? How come all 4 survivors can split up, go into the corners of he map and start working on a gen? If you don't find anyone in 80 seconds that's 4 gens doing in ONE MINUTE (and 20 seconds). If you do find someone, in those big ass maps, then during one chase or just as you got the first hook you have 3 gens pop up.

You can't teleport around the map, you can't make chases take 1 second, you can't make the gen progress actually regress because Hex: Ruin spawn is a joke and kicking the gen doesn't do anything (And pop goes the weasel literally requires you to hook someone).

Then survivors claim there is no gen rush and that they are just doing their objective but their objective sure as hell isn't to take advantage of how it's more efficent for some reason to do gens alone (Instead of being the opposite so it encourages teamwork) and each one go on a gen in the corners of the map so the killer can't find you.

And why should anyone even bother with late game if all the totems will have been destroyed by then (since they spawn righ next to generators) and if the killer is trying to defend the last remaining 3 gens they will just find a key and leave through the hatch.

If u get survivors all doing gens separated in the corners of the map congratulations,u got yourself a nice 3 gen and an easy trial cause this is a mistake new players do.

Like, someone please explain to me how I'm supposed to save a dude from a 3 man SWF group in the last 20 seconds while the Killer is chasing me, I'm injured and exhausted? The other two were sitting right next to me doing nothing while I got the blame for all 3 dying in EGC instead of them sacrificing their teammate and escaping. I just love this community sometimes...

Sorry for the little rant... had to get this out of my system.

I'm trading 3 stack toxic swf with the average console player in my games any day buddy.

There's literally nothing you can do as a killer except watch a survivor crawl through the exit-gate as long as they have this perk. If you attempt to pick them up you will only eat the stun along with the added humilation. This cannot be allowed to continue, the perk should deactivate once a survivor enters the exit gate area.

Look at this and tell me this is fair. This is the equivalent of rubbing salt into the wound, there's absolutely no way to win at that point anymore.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/486CNQAK3URN/no-counterplay.png

How about make it deactivate as soon as u start walking/running/crouching?Would that be fair enough?Jesus Christ babies.

There is simply no way to balance SWF, when most of the time, it is simply people that just want to play with their friends.

And this idea just punishes Solo Survivor more, which is not something we want to do.

Solo Survivor is already the hardest thing in this game.

Odds are If u are solo and u got 3 stack in your team, they will perform better than the average potato you would otherwise be put with in the first place.

So imo solo doesn't suffer from this,it is actually beneficial

Ok let's see, where to start. You make millions by adding content with DLC's,skins, not to mention u have to buy the game in the first place.

Get better employees.Maybe harsh truth but this is how u run a business, and it happens that i own a business IRL.

Despite the changes the game is still survivor sided, especially against a swf (due to gen times). Once you play against a tournament SWF you know the game isn't "killer sided".

Whilst I agree Shelter Woods needs to be changed, it's more due to how outdated that map is (I've made posts about it).

Shelter Woods is winnable as survivor, if the survivor team knows what they're doing. The survivors just need to split up and work on separate generators, and be efficient with pallets. It's extremely important not to waste pallets on Shelter Woods, if a baby meg wastes all the pallets in the first minute of the game, then the survivor team is probably going to lose.

It's also important to try and avoid getting downed near the basement as well, but that goes for most maps.

The survivors do have resources to loop the killer, due to the amount of jungle gyms there are on the map. If a survivor is good enough they can use a jungle gym for a long time without having to use the pallet.

Just curious how many hours do you have in the game (and/or your player level), because balance landing is currently one of the worst exhaustion perks in the game after it's nerf. In my opinion, it's pointless to run balance landing when there's dead hard and sprint burst, which are a lot better at providing more longevity to a chase. I'd rather have Head on than balance landing.

I never said the game favours one side or the other.Only that it is easier/more balanced towards killers now than it used to be.

I have 1300~ hours into the game, currently r2 solo survivor,i rarely play killer nowadays(can't stand queue times)I am not amazing but i do have my fair share of competitive plays from diferent games in the past.BL is the exhaustion perk i am more comfortable with, nothing to do with meta or whatever.

"THE GAME IS MORE BALANCED NOW TOWARDS KILLERS"

What do you mean by that? As far as I can tell, this game is balanced towards green/purple rank players that are all playing solo. Lower on ranks, killer dominates. Higher ranks, survivors do.

And what does this have to do with Balanced Landing?

I meant to say since the game is easier for killers now,but i prefered to use a more delicate word.Higher ranks swf dominates not solo survivors.

I wanted to say they made easier all maps for killers but shelter woods left as it was.As the above post said, lots of dead zones, not many tiles to work with and as a plus BL is completely wasted on this map.

There is counterplay to Iri Head Huntress, loop her around high walls loops so she can't throw over them, drop the pallet early or if Huntress already charged her hatchet, don't drop the pallet and keep looping her, try to put distance between you and her, you can dodge hatchets if she isn't right behind you. You can also abuse buildings where Huntress can't get bloodlust, so they are practically infinites to her. Even Iri Head Huntress will need to abandon these buildings because they can't do anything about it.

While this add-on can be BS sometimes, especially when combined with a Mori, it isn't uncounterable and you can still escape even agaisnt Iri Head Huntresses.

Yes,yes and yes u are correct.I think most high ranked people know how to handle huntress, you need to take account though the map and the tiles setup.Shelter woods for instance.

If you are making mistakes because you are scared then that's on you. Not the add on.

Ok man.How about the devs add an ultra rare addon that u can have infinite corrupt purge on Plague from the get go for the remaining of the trial?Surely if u are dieing to this it's your performance not the addon's fault.Which btw,it's a ton easier to dodge purge than hatchets. How's that?

  • @ThisGuuy83 said:

Yeah, let's take MORE away from killers. She's too competitive, so OBVIOUSLY she needs a nerf. Who cares she's only 110% on speed, and can be heard a mile away. TAKE AWAY HER POWER!!!! ANY KILLER THAT'S CHALLENGING MUST BE NERFED!!! 🤦‍♂️

My apologies man but they gutted my beloved nurse into depressing mode, why would a bs broken addon still be out there?A good Huntress is competitive enough without this addon.

People complain about Billy,at least there is counterplay with him.Iri Huntress?Try looping a window,i dare u to do it vs a good one.Fake it?Huntress with enough hours fall for that?

you can dodge 5 hatches but can't dodge 1?

and even if you get it, well the killer outplayed you

sometimes you win sometimes you lose

I don't know your rank but i won't continue this argument, your logic is wrong, your math is wrong.

Ok,some trivia. If u know for a fact the huntress uses iri head(she already downed someone) u become more cautious,by being more cautious u feel more pressured of not getting 1shot and by feeling more pressured u make mistakes more easily.

  • I am thinking, out of boredom,to play a few blendette games.Haven't decided on build yet but could be something like:

    Iron Will,Red Herring,Diversion and last possibly Q&Q.

  • @Thatbrownmonster said:

    Just dodge the hatches

    not that hard

Ok sir.I do not know what region u from,in my region plenty of r1 huntress with patience and experience and aim,u can't dodge every hatchet.

If your getting smacked by iri heads that implies your getting hit repeatedly by hatchets and were screwed anyway most likely..iri heads are strong but with huge downsides , completely overrated..a real eye roller tbh

Pardon me,that doens't implie getting hit repeatedly by hatchets, but good huntress knows all the tricks and eventually u will get hit.

  • @CronaWins said:

Barely see an iri head huntress.

    Maybe 1 in 100 games.

On a side note, lately i'm keeping records of my games.Out of 60 survivor matches so far 15 have been huntress in the red ranks.I'll keep u informed on how many more iri head i'll face at 30 huntress games. So far it aint 1/100.

  • @Ghostwithaface said:

Looking up the add on. It's a Ultra Rare add on and it reduces the number of hatchets the huntress can carry by four. So she can only carry around one at a time, rather than the normal five. Figure this would be important context to just throw out there.

Dude iri head + Infantry Belt (start with 2 extra hatchets,do the math) is the combo 100% of the time.So no,it is 3 hatchets not 1.And most huntresses in red ranks usually have decent aim.

  • 1) a bit faster base blink recharge. With her movement speed as it is it's just overkill.

    2) rework addons, they are all laughable except for the recharge ones and make those very rares only.

Also fixing her bugs ofcourse eh.

Hey, that's the point of the forums and specifically the polls section. If someone is suggesting a ######### idea I'm gonna call that ######### out just like everybody else so that the devs and mods see that it's absolutely clear this is not something we are interested in seeing.

On the other hand, if I see a good idea I will make absolutely certain to voice my support for it just like everybody else, and I will do my best to repeat the idea as often as I can so I can spread it around as much as possible so the devs know that this is something we are interested in seeing.

Them's the works. It's how the dev team assesses the community's standing on certain topics, regardless if it's harsh or not.

It was a ######### idea. And the overwhelmingly negative response (over 80% said no as of the time I write this) proves that. Nobody here is a white knight we're just calling it out as we see it. And what we're seeing, is garbage.

Look dude i just made a poll with a subject that came at that very moment on my mind.I never said it's a fantastic idea, and i have to say i was a bit exagerated when i said in my OP that "i'd love" to have dance emote.Frankly i couldn't care less if they added it tomorrow or never.I was just wondering what opinion people had on the matter and that's it.

  • You guys take it too seriously i think, relax :P

I won't even bother replying to the white knight above that said a dance would promote toxicity, like there inst enough already with teabags,OoO clicky clicky flashlights,moris,keys,m1 hooked person, head banging on hook, sabo hooks and what not.Relax.

I honestly think a lot of the frustration the community feels, on a variety of matters, stems with just how painstakingly slow the devs are. We get one major update once every three months. With it comes the balance passes, or what little there are of them. Then about two weeks of bug fixes and minor balance tweaks. After that, shop is closed up, and we wait for the next update.

From my understanding, at least from what was told awhile back, the devs construct the game in 'builds.' Beyond a certain point, they can't make changes of any type. Doing so would mean starting over. Was told this back with the sprint burst exploit, and why it lasted for two months ingame.

If this is the case or not, it still leaves two and a half months where the game is at a 'stand still.' Some talk with devs in various forum posts, but that's about it. My question, though, is why? Why build an online game with a competitive style, and not be able to do weekly or biweekly balance passes?

When the devs mention 'we'll be monitoring this or that,' we know that's at the very least, three months. If, whatever they are monitoring, doesn't make it to the update, that's another three months. So on and so forth. Major issues are allowed to sit on the back burner for months, if not years. Imbalanced maps, items, weak perks, low tier killers, bugs of all shapes and sizes, boring objectives, you name it. They all just sit there in the pot for a very long time and just stagnate.

Every update that comes out just adds more to the game, which in itself is not bad, but it usually ignores much of the older issues. Any issues that are adjusted, are just a small portion of the whole stew. And that's what it boils down to. Bits and pieces are picked out of the whole, adjusted, implemented, and that's it. Three months till the next piece is taken and changed. Three months is a really long time, especially for a game such as this.

So, am I wrong to think this way? Is the rate in which things are accomplished acceptable, and I'm just an impatient sod? It just feels like, personally, that the rate of change is simply too slow for a game such as this.

I love the game,i like how in this game the devs actually read and respond very frequently on forums.I do not like the constant error messages, the occasional infinite loading and stuff like that. They need to fix these issues not yesterday, last year.Imagine joining a lobby say fortnite or LoL and game got cancelled like this.

Now think of how much dbd costs just to buy the base game plus all the dlc.The game has a very healthy population, yes they need to be faster with updates and fixes.

With 1000s of hours in this game as survivor, a lot of them using aura perks so I can see what my teammates are doing, one of the primary reasons survivors get 3 or 4kd is that they don’t heal. They run for saves while injured, against killers that patrol the hook (majority), get downed themselves, and then you have a recipe for disaster. While gen rushing, to a level that excludes healing, is a viable strategy for excellent players (especially good runners), the fact is that there aren’t that many players that are good enough to pull it off. Instead you have huge numbers of people that blindly follow the meta, imagining themselves to be better runners than they are, not healing, getting caught, and losing games.

These are the guys that you see ran 3 or 4 of the main meta perks post game... the ones that played high risk, paid the price for it, and then blamed you for not doing anything, IOW doing gens and trying to make safe saves. These guys look down their noses at anyone running self care or spine chill or UE because they’re such noob perks.

These are actually all great perks when used correctly. Just like the meta perks are great when used correctly. IOW...

Self care - correct: let others heal you when possible

UE - correct: use it to stealth when necessary, not to potato through a match

BT - use it when you can’t make a safe save because the killer is camping, NOT to make an immediate save just because you can... which leads to an unnecessary injury which wastes time and can get you downed.

DS - don’t let yourself get hit unnecessarily just because you have it. Again, it wastes time and makes the team weaker.

Self Care is a great perk and very often a necessity for solos who can’t count on finding teammates. Getting downed causes the most problems in a game. One less person on gens, the killer is freed up, and a teammate has to save. Often, without comms, multiple teammates try to save making things even worse. Anything to get that health state back is frankly awesome. So everyone needs to stop shitting on good perks. You’re not good because of the perks you use. It’s how you use the perks you choose to play with. I’ll take mediocre players using Self care, UE, etc over mediocre players using meta perks any day. Because I believe the meta players will more likely play over confidently and lose the game quickly.

    Big picture: play smart.

I'm sorry but i don't agree with most of this.SC is a good perk for newer players while learning the game but it stays there.

If we are talking about high rank games, which i pressume u had high rank games in your mind when writing this, then no,SC is a junk, time wasting perk.

Even if u play solo, throughout the trial most of the times u have a pretty good picture of where everybody is at any given time if u paying attention.

And since the more you take your time healing with SC in the corner of the map the more the resources are slowly wasted(pallets)and the more the game goes towards the favour of the killer, meaning less chances for u and your team to survive.

Sure all this means ######### if u care only about getting at least +1 or just messing around with random perks. But optimal play doenst have room for SC.

  • In all honesty a little faster base recharge in her blinks won't hurt. All she needs.
